We were searching for hotels that were around the Wadduwa area as we wanted to go on a beach trip not far from our place. And I have to say that choosing this hotel to spend our holiday vacation was the right choice. The hotel is really spacious and the rooms are quite good too. The staff at the hotel were friendly and gave us their best support. Plus the best part of our experience was the buffet. However, the beach was quite rough and we could not take a swim in it. The hotel pool is really big and it was definitely inviting us for a swim,but the pool was not cleaned and there was algea growing in the bottom of the pool so we could not use it. The food however was comparatively better compared to most of the other hotels although the variety was limited. Overall is was a good experience although it was not the best. We would not hesitate going there again.

I stayed here with my family for mandatory quarantine. We got a spacious room with a wonderful view of the sea. Staff were very professional and helpful. We especially appreciate the trouble they took to supply a fabulous cake for one of our kids who had to celebrate the birthday during the quarantine. Reasonable prices and excellent facilities.

This review is from an old visit. It's a beautiful facility, great swimming pools, and good food. The last time we went here is memorable, because it was the last trip together with my late father. 4-stars, was the service could be much better.

I came here on September 2nd to celebrate my wife's birthday. The foods were delicious. This is one of the best foods I have ever had in Sri Lanka. Hats off to the head chef. I stayed in room no319, which was ample, clean and tidy with a sea view balcony. However, I was disappointed with their service. When I made the reservation, I put a note to arrange a small cake to surprise her. Also, I called them before coming to the hotel, and they told me they would arrange it. But they had forgotten it and did not make any arrangements. Apart from that, we didn't have electricity in our room from 6.30am to check out time. We didn't have AC, Fan, TV or lights at the time. Besides, we could not charge our phones. I informed the issue, and they told me they would send someone to fix it. But nothing happened. However, they remember to remind us to check out on time.

Nice cozy place to come and relax .... Well maintained and situated so close to the beach... It's attractive and situated so close in to wadduwa sri lanka...

We choosed this place for 2 days. Friendly, smiling staff with a positive attitude that gave us the best first impression. Service was tremendous from check-in to check out. This was one of the best service I have received. Rooms are spacious and clean. Cleaning staff are efficient. Buffet menu was spot on and very rich in flavours. We tried at least 7 different soup throughout our stay, which was different to one another.. Cold Sea food platter was brilliant which included crab, prawns, calamari/cuttlefish. Papaya salad is a must try dish. Mains were very delicious. Many sea food options were there.. The dessert range was ample to fill the cravings. The service was brilliant even during the peak times. Overall we had a peaceful and memorable time in blue water hotel and spa.

The hotel is located in a stunning beautiful place there are plenty of activities like gym, volleyball table tennis,pool and much more. Can relax with a professional spa also. Some rooms remain a little bit of uncleaned and most of the rooms are clean.overall received a good service from the blue water

Location was fantastic, superb sea view and friendly staff, large and comfortable room. Pool was superb, food was good . My wife and self enjoyed the stay Unfortunately it started raining so we could not go to the each area. If I point out few positive critic, The bath room shower water pressure is inadequate and also the water in the sink does not get drained quickly and also the toilet water spray water pressure need to be adjusted. TV remote was not working

Luxury quarantine centre @ Wadduwa. I stayed 10 day after infected covid 19. Good medical care by staff of Hemas hospital & good room facility , good healthy food given by hotel.

We did not book this hotel initially but ended up here due to our first booking elsewhere was a disappointment. After a good drive and a bit tired we where met by a staff who was very friendly and understood our situation. While they finished up our room we had a lovely and late lunch in the restaurant. The pool area was big enough for us to have some privacy and enjoying the amazing and calm sound from the sea nearby. The dinner and breakfast was a buffet with a good variety and flavour. The room was spacious, clean and with some nice interiors. Its a quiet hotel during the night so we had a good sleep as well. This hotel is a short drive from Colombo which we love.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location was also fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. I also appreciated the on-site gym and pool, which made it easy to stay active during my stay. The breakfast was also delicious and had plenty of options to choose from. This is a great place to spend your vacation. Beautiful location right by the sea, a spacious garden, it has a great pool and a nice dining area. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Their customer service is excellent. My favorite thing about this place was the live band at dinner which was really romantic. Their song selection was great and set the right mood for dinner. The food was amazing too. They have a rich variety of food and everything was simply delicious. No complains about the room we stayed in too. It was quite spacious, clean, comfortable, with a nice couch and a spacious changing room. It had a nice view from the balcony. Totally recommended!!!!

I spent the first week of June 2023 at The Blue Water Hotel and Spa. It takes about an hour and a half to get there from the international airport. The rooms are large, spacious, the food is very good, the service tries very hard. Pools clean, regularly cleaned, teran very well maintained. The beach in front of the hotel is public, partly littered, regularly cleaned. On the beach, local gentlemen trying to encourage the purchase of goods and services, among them a gentleman coming with the elephant Monika.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious, providing a comfortable experience. The food served was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every meal. The highlight was the beautiful, large pool and garden, offering a serene and relaxing environment. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for mandatory quarantine. The first room had no hot water, had massive leakage from the ceiling. After begging to change the room, they put me into a new room. The new room was literally surrounded by rooms that were ongoing construction - extremely loud and construction workers walking around my room balcony (sometimes they dropped their water bottles, flip flops etc onto my balcony). There were multiple cockroaches and when I asked for cleaning equipments like blooms, the reception lady told me to just grab the cockroaches with tissue paper and didn’t give me anything. When I needed anything at all, it was rare that the reception picked up my calls. I know it has been a difficult time for hotels and operate as quarantine hotel, but I was a paying guest and I strongly believe that I deserved a better service. I was extremely frustrated and hopefully they are doing better job now.

It's an old hotel.. needs refurbishment and an uplift.. been closed due to Covid19 for a long time may also be a reason.. great location.. excellent pool can watch the sunset from your room

We had a wonderful time at the Blue Waters Resort and Spa The view of the garden is beautiful and service of all the staff was punctual, helpful, and everyone was very nice. Overall an extremely hospitable stay and would be delighted to stay longer. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the Blue Water Hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. The open spaces, multiple water bodies and the green expanses give a sense of peace and quiet for visitors who arrive to wind down! Kudos to the team!

Attended a wedding at this hotel and was impressed by its grand and spacious ambiance. The hall was beautifully designed and impeccably maintained. The food and other services provided were excellent, and I highly recommend this venue for all kinds of events. Furthermore, ample car parking is available on-site.

This hotel is a very homely hotel. When you check in the staff really makes you feel at home. Hospitality is wonderful. We got a suite and it was roomy and so comfortable. The buffet menu was plenty and the food was delicious. It's very close to Colombo and I would definitely come to blue water again ! Again special thanks to the wonderful staff Cons : only con is when checking out we had to wait for a bit till they checked our room. Hope they change this bad habit !

I staid at the Blue Water for a full week, and it was amazing. Besides the incredible location and facilities, what I appreciated the most is the consistent attentions Mrs Kushani had for me, during my whole staying. She is so caring and gave me the warmest welcome! She followed me through my days there, and made sure I had everything needed. I highly recommend it (and her)!

I highly doubt how this hotel got five star ratings, front dest staff were not welcoming at all. We initially booked a club suite and a deluxe room but later we asked to upgrade the deluxe to a club suite they gave us the room with extra charge. Room it self looked spacious but very poorly maintained there were lots of staines in the bathroom floor and there were no shower gel at all , we had to call the reception to get them over to the room. There was no hair dryer , no conditioner.. We booked the hotel for two days and we thought that there is a daily house keeping happens as we booked for two days, but unfortunately no housekeeping was done , therefore we had to call the house keeping to get it done. There were lots of ants in both the room and that was really annoying. On the day of checking out we were trying to have a bath and noticed that there was no hot water, then we noticed that there is some kind of repair going on outside , but no one informed us on anything. Food was okay but Sunday lunch was good compared to other meals. Restaurant staff was not welcoming at all. Very poor air conditioning at the restaurant. This hotel seem to be an architectural masterpiece but very poorly managed, Very disappointed and not recommend at all, waste of money.

The staff's courteous service added a personal touch to the experience, making it truly delightful. The large and not-so-crowded pool provided a relaxing experience, and the delicious buffet exceeded expectations with its variety and quality. This hotel sets a high standard for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

“The Blue Water” is an outdated but still charming hotel. Great food, fantastic beach, wonderful pool and garden area. But it's just getting old... loungers, cushions, etc. The staff is very friendly, attentive, sometimes too attentive, but that's okay and even if you need the caretaker because of a broken room door lock, he's there quickly. What detracts from the good score is the fact that we didn't have a room when we arrived, even though, according to the travel agency, it should have been available to us since 12:00 after our tour... we waited 2 hours for it. As a reward, we were allowed to sit in the hotel lobby for 10 hours on the day of departure... almost no WiFi... apparently we couldn't extend the room. After checking out, we asked the receptionist whether we could leave our suitcases… Counter question from the receptionist: “Do we really want to wait here?” Mercifully, we were allowed to shower in the gym area shortly before pickup...

Great part of the country. Beach in the backyard with a large pool. Service was excellent, we were able to check in slightly early. Large waiting area with great views, welcome drink included. Full board meals were great but limited choice for vegetarians. Considering a lot of vegan and vegetarian would be great if there were some choices.Overall a great experience, highly recommend

Holiday in this Hotel are just like it should be. Beautiful Hotel buildings and amazing garden with a spectacular view on the ocean! Suite I had, was just perfect, nice living room area, stylish lamps, king-size bad, separate wardrobe and double-sink bathroom with jacuzzi and shower. Nothing to add. Plus this wonderful view from the terrace. Calmness and freedom - this feelings you can have staying in Blue Waters Sri Lanka. Food is incredible good, more than a half of dishes were always a lokal one, so you could taste the real Sri Lanka: seafood, spicy plattes and those delicious desserts! Prima! Regarding the staff; Hotel boys were brilliant and very polite, the same to the cleaning staff and waiters. One of them- Aruna was always special helpful during dinners. Very good service from Aruna. My one slightly negativ for the main restaurant is the fact, you must wait way too long for the first service. Tables should be prepared all the time for the new guests, I needed to wait couple of minutes for the new table, despite there was few uncovered. Reception desks was always helpful. For me the negative is the fact, there was no international magazines available. In 5* Hotel this is unacceptable. The good Point is, that the Hotel all the time try to get better, as e.g. Duminda from the Hotel staff asked me about the stay - this is very comfortable and I felt taken care of. Thank you Duminda! There is a beautiful garden, big space for relax. Despite of the other guests you will find your private zone. Place is more for adult people. During my stay there was no kids at all. Over all I give 5* - brillant location! Thank you Blue Water Hotel! Beautiful Holiday!

Big rooms, nice view , big dinning hall...overall a great property to stay and relax. On service side there can be some improvement. However dinning area and staffs on dinning area were really great. Overall nice place and I can stay again :)

There's a squash indoor room and has the best gym ever. Special thanks for the gym instructer lady for helping us with the workouts. Definitely coming back 💕

A nice resort with a spacious ground and a pool. It has water around the resort which is to support the concept of Blue Water. The rooms are good and comfortable but some of the rooms TV is not working. When it comes to the buffet the range need to he improved and the staffs are friendly and helpful.

Rooms are comfortable but there was a problem with our room because it didn't lock and even after the maintenance fixed it, the same problem occurred later. Food and drink are delicious and had varieties. Service is good, friendly staff. Nice and calm environment, have access to beach and sea where you can swim in. Overall good experience.

We stayed there one night and it was a great experience. Staff was really kind and they are always ready to help you. Rooms were clean but we had to wait an hour to check in. Dinner buffet had limited number of food items. Honestly speaking it was average and I think they can do better than that. Overall it was a good experience and hoping to visit blue water in the future.

Staff was very courteous and friendly. Requests were handled really well. Pool was amazing. Food need a bit of change during each day, however they were yummy and quality. I was told that there are more options during weekends. Plenty of parking available. Nice views of the beach and railway line for train enthusiasts. Fishing nets are dragged close to the hotel in the mornings and sun set is amazing!

Worst hotel on Sri Lanka. Very poor hospitality . Do not know how talk to a customer politely. We requested a baby cot before hand which delivered at 6pm even after repeated calls. No hot water. Please do not come to this place.

Super friendly staff. However hotel need a good renovation. 2 kids got injured in the pool due to damaged tiles. Can't think of give a bad reviews due to the care given by staff. Room condition is not satisfactory at all.

Our stay was memorable .Beautiful spacious hotel, wonderful service, Mr duminda gave us an upgrade...it was a very relaxing weekend. So happy we ended up coming here, it was rejuvenating. Mr Nish at F&B was very helpful. Had organised a delicious cake for our celebration. Food was good, delicious soups n breads...Rooms were spacious n beautiful designed. Swimming pool is large n inviting, layout of the hotel is spacious n beyond gorgeous. Would love to come back!!!. Thank you to the whole team of blue waters.

Amazing hotel. Its indeed an 5 star in standard. The room was really well maintained and had no issues. Food was very tasty - all 3 meals were buffets- Check the Sri Lankan food specially. Pool is their biggest attraction where you have plenty of space to relax and play. Definitely would come again. Thanks BWH team!

Nice and calm place to expend the holidays. The staff was friendly and the food were delicious. If get crowded they serve the food in buffet style. Even though we have made a reservation we had to wait until the room is ready.

We hosted an event in December at Sea Scape Hall,and the total experience was very bad.There is no any official to attend any issue and only minor staff was available even there is a serious issue. During the entire event air conditioner was not working properly and we had to walk up and down to find an ofofficial .The dishes served doesnt match with the agreed menu and several items were not included to the buffet. The menu which has sent to the kitchen was totally different and kitchen staff had to explain it by showing their list.Minor staff and ststuarts did their job well and to discuss the matters not a single official were available in the late evening .. A frustrated experience for all participants and now this venue has become an obsolete property who served their guests in excellent manner in good old days.
