We went there to check the place out. Good ambience. They haven't started serving liquor yet. You can BYOB and they will charge a 500.00 rupee corkage fee. We've found the meals are quite good and the portion sizes were big enough. We ordered a seafood chopsuey and it was enough for three people and it had a quite a good amount of seafood. The beverages menu can be made a little bigger since it has very limited options. Bottled water is expensive. 180.00 for a 50.00 rupee bottle. There weren't many people by the time we went there. Around 4 in the evening. Overall it is a good place to spend an eve with your family for a dinner or have a drink with your friends. Hopefully the service will keep being good as we experienced today. Good luck team.

This review is for the restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Can accommodate 50+ people at a time. The tables are clean and good service. Food : Prices are high. Kottu regular 1500+ & large rice portion 2300+. We ordered Hot Butter Mushroom dish and it was 1600+ and a very small portion. Nasi Goreng portion was ok but very small amount of chicken was added. Overall food taste was ok. Fresh Juices, Mocktail & Cocktail are available. Hard liquor and wine also available. Plenty of parking space available.

My sis got her wedding at Kesbewa rest house. Actually on that day, meat curries and bites were very bad. The day after the wedding many guests called and complained to the foods and the service of your hotel. Even more than 20 guests didn’t attend to our function, but there was shortage of meat curries and desserts. We asked several time to refill the desserts but the staff didn’t care our words. We are really really disappointed with this place. I never recommend this place to anyone who wants to have their wedding here. Wedding halls are okay. Place is nice but the foods and some of the staff members are really disgusting. Hotels management should be well organised.

Excellent atmosphere if you want to eat out with your friends or family. A few of my friends got together here for a quick chat and dinner on a Friday night. There was ample space in the parking area and the place was not too crowded either. The food tastes great and they were relatively quick with serving. Everything was clean and tidy. I'd go there again. The entry road is a little hard to find in the evening heavy traffic, especially if it's raining.

The food was great. However, the service needs to be improved, and they should welcome customers with a smile. The waiting time was too long after ordering drinks. I never had any problems with the Grand 7 Kesbewa when I visited their other establishment. So I expected the same level of service from the Rest House as well.

Upgraded recently to star class after so many years, just go and experience the place, lake view , pool, out door tables, VIP area, family dining areas available, rates are bit high, they have liquor and you can BYOB ...500/+ per each bottle,but no charges if the bill is over 5000/+

This could be a good place those who has not try another restaurant around Colombo I know most of the people have not tried other places around Colombo, Not worth for money very small amount of food, you can eat for this amount at 5 star hotel or other good places like grand monarch, So please kindly try with other restaurants in Colombo and taste there foods and foods quantity and then comment,Not a place to eat but a place to have couple of "Gal bothal " with friends but not a place to have outing with families utter waste of money. I am telling those who have commented here specially people around Piliyandala and kesbewa you all may not know but there are lot of good places it is not nice mentioning names of the restaurants but if you have fuel go around Colombo and try five star hotels or other restaurant and then compare for me This is a profit warning restaurant only not worth for money at all.

I ordered a devilled beef from Rest House Kesbewa restaurant through uber eats. Today. This is the bill. As you can see they claim this item is enough for 3 people priced at Rs 2250. Usually a portion for one person is 250g. So i thought this would be about 750g and at 2250 rupees I thought this was worth it. But when it arrived I was surprised to note that this was just under 250g. Common lets face it anyone who has cooked beef knows what 250g of beef looks like cooked. It was devilled ok but its kind of cheating to claim an amount of meet just under 250g is enough for 3. Hope the rest house kesbewa becomes more honest in the future. New update - I called kesbewa rest house and asked how many grams in the devilled beef for 3 persons and they said 240g!. This is cheating the buyer. Because on the cover of the packet which I am attaching a photo of now, it says it's devilled beef (large). According to the usual 'large' portion size definition employed by other merchants in the same category a large meat portion size is 500 g. 240g cant be a large portion. Its the basic size. And 240g of devilled beef is definitely not enough for 3 people. Please be fair and upfront and honest in your trade. Foods are delicious but the quantities are really small. We ordered 4 large potions of beef, chicken and pork, one large potion of spaghetti ( which the quantity of the meat is little more than a curry serving spoon with added onions and capsicum)and one small portion of rice, one large bottle of bear and margarita for . We are leaving hungry and unhappy since we hardly ever felt eaten and indeed going to eat somewhere else. It costs 14190 LKR. Never recommend for anyone.

One would not expect a quiet and relaxing spacious place like Kesbewa rest house few hundred meters away from the busy streets of Kesbewa town. The place is clean, spacious, well-organized and serves tasty food at reasonable prices. I have not stayed there but been to the restaurant only. Nice view overlooking the lake. Good ambience and friendly staff. Clean washrooms. Sufficient parking available. Cash and cards accepted.

This place has become one of my 'go to' places for an evening hangout with friends & family. Three separate areas to dine-in consist of a normal Air conditioned Family restaurant area, and a Bar area with a pool table and really cool furniture! and the outdoor garden area which is also really nice. Food is great, never have eaten a dish which disappoints me. I've tried most of their items on the menu and I absolutely loved all of them. Prices are a bit higher than other places around the Kesbewa and Piliyandala area but the quality, taste and the portion sizes adds up to it. Tbh, it's cost effective.

One of the best places to hangout in this locality. It has a cosy environment. Food is tasty although some might find it slightly overpriced compared to other such places. Can take hard liquor. They serve beer. Good location for family as well as office dinner out.

Service was excellent! However there are some areas that should be develop with related with preparing the dishes since the dishes are not up-to the customers expectations.

One word for this, Its PERFECT. Had our engagement last week and couldnt ask better. I must mention the two wonderful individuals, Ms.Hansika and Mr.Sumithra who supported us to make our day beautiful. Honestly, I have not seen such a friendly, flexible and a supportive customer service from a venue ever in my life. They always went that extra mile to provide whats best for us and thanks to them, we were fully relaxed knowing that everything will be perfectly in place. (I'll attach the photoes here once we receieve them) There were no hidden charges and they even customized the buffet for us. Even at the last minute when we were worrying about the climate, that it will be raining at the moment of registration, they offered us a backup location (a portion of the bar lounge-as it was available at the time) to host the registration ceremony, completely free of charge. Even though it didnt rain, it brought us so much peace of mind having a backup location in need. It was not their responsibility to provide the backup location as we were the ones who selected the garden for the registration. (There was no additional cost for the garden also) The place is super clean, and everyone there is very friendly. The function went smooth, on time and everyone mentioned to us about how tasty the food was. And the food presentation of the buffet is also very impressive and even we, ourselfves didnt expect that much. We booked 2 rooms for the night before and they were excellently clean as well. There is a seperate entrance for the rooms and secuirity is also maintained. In a nutshell, we are so glad that we choose your place as the venue of our special day and we had the support of you people to make the day extra glamorous. When we entered the hall after the registration, by a glimple we figured out that everything was in place according to how we asked. I must say, thats always not the case. There was nothing that we should request them twice on the day. The service was outstanding. WIsh you all the best for the entire crew to keep up the good work.

Special note to be considered, As a routine customer I can feel the difference of the taste of the food coming down day by day. Cause of reduced the Ingredients. Good thing is still remain unchanged the rice portion served. Pay more attention to the take a ways.

We ordered one biriyani, lebanese chicken sandwich with mexican sandwich yday via ubereats. All the food was so delicious! Even the tortilla wrapped in the two sandwiches was so thin and crusty. Biriyani too was a hit with a good portion, and loved everything we ordered. Hope they will keep up the quality everyday.

Nice lake view and very good place to bring kids as they have enough space to play around. Also, can go around the lake and see birds. Better if they can include coffee and tea.

Absolutely well mannered staff with excellent service . they are very capable with their duties. we stayed nearly 2 weeks . room was specious with good attached bath room . need some missing amities and nothing to complain . value for money !!

I had my engagement at this venue and the management and all the supportive staff members made everything possible to make it a memorable event for us. Delicious and well-decorated food that is non-second to any five-star hotel in SL, a well-maintained property with a welcoming ambiance, a beautiful garden overlooking Kesbawa Lake, a calm and quiet environment, a cozy modern bar with a billiard table, a modern reception hall with all facilities and a star-level restaurant. They offered us a complimentary room for the day and it was really clean, spacious, modern, and well-equipped. Sufficient parking spaces are also available. All of these are for a very reasonable price. I do not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to have any sort of family or corporate event with up to 200 pax or to have a lovely evening with your loved ones while enjoying a chill beer and awesome food. Keep up the good work!!

Super nice place for a chill in the evenings or night. Food was on point as well. It was raining when I went so the seating outside was restricted. Plenty of parking space as well, the food is reasonably priced.

Amazing ambience especially in the evening and night, beautiful location overlooking the lake, food was a little on the pricey side but the portions were big enough for it to make sense, and the food was fairly good as well. All of us really enjoyed our time there, the staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient and overall a great experience. The only thing I would change is their music. While the songs were playing, there was a constant tag that kept repeating every 5-10 minutes, "Not just your tracks today" similar to a radio tag. This was incredibly annoying because of its repetition so would appreciate it if the staff were able to remove that. Other than that, we all had a great time!

Calm and quite place and really good to have a place like this in Kesbewa.but make sure to clarify the item in the menu before it order as when i ordered "sizzling modha" it comes without sizzling and not even in sizzling plate and same as the "hot lava cake" but its freezed to ice..😂. to me feel like little bit overpriced (some items) when compaired to the portion they served. But food is really TASTY.

This is one of the best run way hotel, good clean hygiene rooms with very affordable price range and staffs are all very very friendly. only thing daily mornings they will knock your room door & ask you to pay the that day bills (like morningmare 🤣😂🤣)

This place is a very good place to take birthday functions, weddings, and registration or engagement functions. The staff is super friendly and very flexible. No words to describe it. From my personal experience and view, I think this should be highly rated. The food is excellent. Highly recommended not only for functions for food also.

Located near Kesbewa lake with good looking views. Very clean rooms with good space. Staff service is friendly and good. Foods also tasty and offer room service also. Very good restaurant also available. Tea and coffee packets available in the room but they tasteless. Don't try them. Overall, good place to stay but you won't get good view from your room.

Great place in Kesbewa town for a casual drink with friends or a family dinner or to watch a match while playing pool. Ample parking. Outdoor dining is wonderful with the cool breeze coming from Kesbewa tank. Service is good. Better to advice the waiter if you dont prefer sugary meals. They have a good menu. Prices are reasonable.
