Hiking trails within easy access from the city. Trail system leads you to a lookout with views of the city on one side and the interior jungles on the other side. Best to go in the morning or evening to avoid the heat and humidity. Cool breeze at the top. Small entry fee paid at the visitor center ($4 for foreigners).

Here is an amazing ecological park split into three different hiking circles. Within these three circles are five different trail options, each with their own level of difficulty. Since they are designed to be circular trails, there is no way to get lost. Simply follow the established path. Look at the picture of the map to better understand. First is the smallest of the three circles called the Momotides trail. It is the least challenging at under one kilometer in distance. Took us under twenty minutes of continuous slow walking to complete. Second is the combination of Caobos and Roble trails at a total of one and a half kilometers with easy to moderate difficulty. The turtle pond was the most memorable part. Nothing else to see besides greenery. Another highlight is a tiny seating area with a roof where you will have a small view of the city. This circle took us half an hour to finish. Third is the largest at over two kilometers comprising of the Cienagita and Camino del Mono titi trails. There is more uphill walking required than any other trail but it was nothing too taxing. The best part is getting to the very top where you will have views of the city. Took us about eighty minutes to complete. Here is what I learned from the hikes. First, the trees protect you from the sun most of the time. Second, bring water because they are no kiosks along the way. Third, dress comfortably and be aware of insects that bite. Overall, the heights are not strenuous but you will get slightly tired and sweaty. The trails are clearly marked for everyone to follow. Nature lovers will appreciate these trails but others may find them a bit boring. Sad to say but we did not see any animals besides turtles. The visitors center has ample parking and bathroom. There are guides that answer any questions you may have. I have to compliment the staff there, especially those who are outside on foot. They were always kind and informative answering any questions.

Fantastic park! There are many species of flora and fauna here to see. We saw monkeys, sloths, agouti, and many species of birds. The hikes are not difficult, though there is uphill hiking. The guards at the station and workers and the visitor's center we encountered were friendly. The trails are easy to follow and there are nice views at the top of the hill. On a clear day you can see the city from one viewpoint and the Miraflores locks at another. The admission price is low and well worth it.

Nice views of the city! Took an uber over to the entrance. Tickets for foreigners were about $5 each. There are multiple paths. We took the one straight then to the right. We saw lots of turtles in the pond. Then there's kinda a fork in the road. If you turn left, you will continue down a gravel road to the top. If you turn right where the actual road is, you will hike up to the top on a cement path. I would suggest take one up and the other path back. The cement path has a lookout point into the trees for wildlife viewing. We didn't see many animals unfortunately, but we heard a howler monkey and saw lots of butterflies and leaf cutter ants. Once ay the top there is a first viewing point, but make sure to go up the stairs to the second viewing point [on the right]. That's where the main view is. It's very humid when walking so bring bug spray, Sunscreen and water.

I hiked all the trails. Outstanding views, amazing foliage and trees. I can't remember the name but I saw a few of those little rodent things about the size of a rabbit. They would freeze when they saw me so I could get a picture which you can see. I also saw a group of monkeys probably over 10 all-in-one tree. Mostly juvenal's but there were three that were almost my size. I really recommend going here. Just make sure you're ready to hike. When I got back to my hotel I took about a hot Hollywood shower on my back. I did over 12,000 steps.

Definitely take water. Go early in morning if you want to see more wildlife. We went around 10 am and the animals were already hiding and it was getting very hot. $4 for admissions and takes about 2.5 hours if you do all the trails. It is super steep hike all way up but if you make it the views are worth it.

Beautiful little park that's well worth the $4 entrance fee. It's a manageable hike up to the Mirador, or lookout point, and along the way, we saw turtles, an about, plenty of birds and some gorgeous trees. It can be hot, and the incline can make you sweat, so bring water.

Loved it. Excellent family time exploring. Saw monkeys, tortoises, plenty of birds and butterflies in just one hour and with a toddler! 100% recommended - the earliest in the morning the better, it gets too hot in Panama after 10h!

A must do in Panama City! This park was really cool and worth the $4 entrance fee. They are a few trails and a really nice view of the city from the top. You can also see some animals if you're lucky. I saw a few monkeys on my walk. I would recommend taking an Uber or taxi to the entrance since I had a bit of an issue finding it when walking.

Very well maintained trail and a nice short hike. The entrance is 4$ and it's definitely worth it. Make sure to bring water or buy it there (1$) since there are no shops on the way and you will need it, especially for steeper parts of the trail. It took us around 2 hrs for the whole hike with multiple stops to take pics or simply watch animals. At the top there a wonderful view of the city. Also note that it is only allowed to enter the park on one side, where the official ticket office is.

An amazing city park, with lots of animal life that you can see while walking on different trails. Capibaras, sloths, monkeys, etc. Easy to get to, inexpensive entrance fee, nice and friendly reception. Bring binoculars or just be on the lookout for animal life.

If you plan to continue to other natural places around central America, no need to go. The park is nice, but half of it is literally on the road (you can hear the traffic - so does the animals) and few trails going deeper into the park are closed. If you're not planning to leave panama city, it's a nice taste of the jungle.

Beautiful natural reserve nestled on the side of the bustling Metropolis of Panama, it's one of the few places very much worth visiting as the City of Panama is unfortunately a Concrete Jungle overburdened by Gringo cultural Invasion. thank goodness a spot like this is protected and preserved. A great place for nature walks where you may have opportunity to see everything from sloths too beautiful deer an insane variety of birds an insect's of all kind

Nice spot for a walk in nature. There's an entrance fee with someone to explain the paths to you and washrooms. The paths are very walkable although some areas are very pebbly so I wouldn't recommend flip flops. There's a slightly steep incline or set of stairs to get to the topmost viewpoint. The view is really nice. There are animals around, who are probably fed by visitors because they're not afraid of humans . We saw a number of coatis.

We had a fantastic time. Arrived there by 7.15am and started on a path towards the little pond. We saw a few deer passing, then turtles, then a sloth was just above us, and we loved the little lizard that could run on the water. We kept going on our path towards the viewpoint, and there were plenty more animals we have seen. Well worth a visit specially is so close to city centre. Definitely take lots of water with you the water refill stations were not working. All in all we had a good time spending about 3hrs in there.

A beautiful park for a short hike and a return to nature! This is a great stop if you don’t have the time to get out of the city to explore Panama’s wildlife. The last trek up to the viewpoint is worth it!

Agoutis, coatimundis, caracaras, sloths and more! This little jungle oasis is right in the middle of Panamá City and wonderful. I spent about 5 hours and did every single trail available (there are 4 or 5 trails, with paths that have been smoothed with gravel for most and many are wheelchair accessible). There are water fountains through out the park and two bathrooms within the park. At the top of the summit of the “hardest” trail is a stunning view of the city. I absolutely recommend a half day to visit and enjoy the old side of Panamá. Ps. Don’t leave your bag unsupervised as the coatimundi are VERY interested in going into it.

The views of the city are amazing and gravel trails are well maintained, even in rainy season. I called before arriving to ask about the condition of the trails and my call was answered immediately and the staff was very courteous. At the park itself, the staff in the office are very helpful and provide excellent information about the park and the wildlife. I give the customer service 5 stars as well.

This is an amazing and unexpected getaway in the middle of Panama City. It's a tropical rainforest, but with groomed trails. Be aware it is hot and very humid. Dress appropriately and don't forget the insect repellent.

Went on a Sunday morning between 11am and 3pm. It was a very nice (albeit at times intense) hike, with lots to look at and incredible views. I would love to come back sometime during the week when everyone is at school and/or work because, while there was a lot to see, most of the wildlife was scared off by the stomping, screaming, shouting, and running that was happening up and down the trails. Despite this, we were able to separate from the crowds and enjoy some of the wildlife and insects in the area... White-nosed coati, agouti, a caribbean least gecko, howler monkeys, white-tailed dear, leaf-cutter ants, golden orb weavers, several varieties of hawk and butterflies, and too many species of birds to name.

You wouldn’t think this would be a must visit when in Panama City but after hiking a 3 mile round-trip loop up to a Vista overlooking the city, I think otherwise. It is definitely worth a visit and the challenging walk up to the Vista. Lots of wildlife in the park, such as sloths, deer, Amazing ants, and Coati.

It's such a beautiful park to hike. It is a bit of a tough hike if not in shape, but otherwise, it is not too challenging. I went twice while I was in Panama. Saw great birds no sloth, but it's okay. I got some great pictures either way.

I hiked here this morning. I was at the trailhead around 730am. The staff at the visitors center were very nice, and explained all about the natural park. During the hike, I saw lots of animals: - plenty of howler monkeys - a sloth - many coatis - a handful of birds (though not as many as I was expecting) Fantastic hike overall. It took about 3 hours total, with many stops for pictures. The hike was not strenuous, but did have some elevation in parts. It’s mostly shaded. On my way up there were not many hikers, but on my way back down I encountered a lot more (including a tour group). I recommend going early, and bringing some water.

Great walks while very close to the city. Highly recommend going up the hill for spectacular views of the city in all directions. Very affordable and lots of nature to be observed. Spotted many different bird species and butterflies including Blue Morphos. There is a pond with tortoises. Entrance fee is cheap and even cheaper for residents, children and elderly. Recommend taking water with you, as the humidity of the rainforest can be challenging while walking up the hill.

Be prepared to walk.. Need good shoes n water( they do sell @ center) if you want to make it to the top to see the great views of the City surrounding area. During my walk late morning I saw a white nose coati, sloth, deer n multitude of butterflies. $4 entrance fee (cash only) n there was an English speaking employee who explained trails.

This place is such a cool hidden gem! I came across it by searching Google reviews, otherwise I might have missed it. You can choose your own path and spend as much time as you want to. You have to look carefully for the slots as they are hard to spot, but I was able to see monkeys, agoutis, and a coati easily! There are also a lot of beautiful birds and a pond overflowing with turtles! The views from the lookout points are fantastic as well. Such an amazing place all around!

Very fun hike near Panama City. We did the full available trail and it was about 3 miles/5 kilometers. It was a little a relatively easy hike up did have some up hill. Overall very beautiful! We saw a sloth on one of the trails, but didn’t see many other animals. It was $4 to get in for foreigners. I would recommend as a day activity for anyone wanting to do something active!

Nice place for a walk and great view of the city. $4 entry can be bought at the office. Good trails and felt safe.

Excellent amazing hike! Be sure to get your day bracelet or annual pass before each hike. Well maintained, helpful, kind bilingual staff. Lots of animals to see. Clean bathrooms. Very humid. Lots of water is necessary. My 3 year old, 14 & 19 year old had a blast! Great parking. Excellent family activity.

Little park in the city where you can get some fresh air, green environment and a little silence. The view from the viewpoint is pretty nice and shows the skyline from „behind“. The routes are okay but nothing special and additionally you have to pay a 4$ entrance fee.

A wonderful park in the city. Make sure you note that they close at 4 pm. We got there just before they closed, but fortunately were still able to walk some of the shorter trails.

Beautiful place to go for a walk in a tropical forest without leaving the city. If you walk all the way up the hill you will be rewarded with excellent views of the city. I saw turtles swimming, all sorts of birds, butterflies, monkeys and a baby sloth.

I visited early morning to bird, but found over-crowded parking areas and large groups of noisy people. I walked three of the five trails and found no birds on them, but people everywhere. It is a beautiful area and the staff was very helpful.

Great park, the tracks are in a very good condition, some parts are a bit muddy after a heavy rainy day. But it’s still possible to walk the track. On top you have a very good city view and also the Panama Canal itself.

It's a nice city escape and a easy light 2 hour walk if you do all. See the pictures for the animals I met!

Very nice place for a walk, hike or run. I suggest to go with a guide to see wildlife.

Close to Panama city and easily accessible by city buses (use google). Not expensive. Walk very slowly to see sloths, monkeys, birds and more. At the top, there's a beautiful view of Panama city and the Canal. Accessible for everyone.
