My husband said this was the best country restaurant. Everything was great and employees are super friendly. Lots of choices and everything I got was fantastic.

My wife, son and myself ate there last night. The waitress was friendly. I wish I could remember her name. She took good care of us. Nice little buffett we will plan to eat there again. We plan to try them for breakfast if we are ever in the area at that time. We live a little over an hour from PC. we wanted something different. It was worth the drive. I liked the peach cobbler.

Delicious! Homemade southern food but on a buffet. I will never be able to go to Golden Corral again!

Went here for the first time today with my family. I highly recommend going somewhere else to eat. Food was old and dry looking. We tried to eat what looked okay but was disappointed and not able to eat it. We were in the place for maybe 15 minutes you could see the plates on the table were not eaten at all. I was told by the waitress I still had to pay it was their policy. I never in my life had to pay for food that we didn't eat ever!. There was 7 of us 5 kids who didn't eat at all. My son left he didn't even make a plate. I am pretty upset and will make sure to avoid this place. It is a shame.

We visited on Labor Day. It was not too busy. We got there about 12:45 p.m and there was plenty of seating. The food was fresh and hot. It took quite a while for a refill on my soda. Since we had been walking quite a bit, I was very thirsty. Staff was friendly. Good value for your dollar.

Old country food. I love how the gravy was burnt and how the corn was strongly salted. Look at these great photos! The bread pudding was just like my grandma made it. Burnt. The Pecan pie was to die for.Its was so homemade granny Cantrell didn't even wear a hair net and left us a nice present. The chicken dumping soup reminded me of home cooked meals with bones and all! I love how they didn't add any season to the food. It's just like they had it in the great depression! There's even a nice hole in the ceiling of you can view the electrical. How thoughtful. This place is like a portal into the depression before they had health code or flavor. You may say " well, you don't like country food bless your little heart" I have grown up in the south and this is anything but southern food.

It is a restaurant that serves awesome food and is a tribute to the 5 branches of the United States military, emt's,firefighters, and police. The national anthem is played on the speakers and televisions at 12 noon every day.If this offends you, don't stop at this facility and keep moving on. Congratulations Mission BBQ on completing your mission of providing a facility such as this to the town of Panama City in an outstanding manner!!!!!

Good Home Cooking Buffet at an affordable price... Plus, breakfast served all day. Also Affordable. Some refer to these as 'Gum and Chew' locations due to large number of elderly patrons. The fact is, these older people know quality and value. Breakfast Buffet Sat $13.95 Lunch Buffet $15 or $11.95 Blue plate

First Impression/Service: I had been wanting to try Granny Cantrell's for quite some time now. Lot's of positive reviews drew me in so I had high hopes. Out of all of the places I could have gone, I chose to bring my wife here for dinner today. We walked in for our very first time and we're looking around waiting quietly to be greeted or seated. There were two girls standing behind the counter, each on their phones. They did not greet us, but they did look at us. I walked over to the counter and they were still on their phones. I had to ask them if we seat ourselves. They told us as if it should be obvious. Later on I saw the sign that said Seat Yourself, but there is so much going on visually that it isn't the first thing you notice when walking in. It would have been polite to at least get a hello. I noticed that the unsweet tea and water pitchers were kept next to sanitizer buckets and used rags on the tops of the booth walls. This gave it a trashy and messy ambiance. One rag might have been looked over but it was several used rags. Food: I was thoroughly disappointed with all of the food items we ate with exception of the gravy, dinner rolls, baked beans, and meat loaf. The meat loaf is what kept me from rating the food 1 star rather than 2. All of the aforementioned were decent but far from spectacular. The turnip greens, collard greens, the large white beans were all extremely salty. I like my food seasoned well, but this was just very salty and unenjoyable. Everyone like a good Mac and cheese done right, but their Mac and cheese has the cheese all on top and underneat was bland, plain elbow noodles. I could say more about specific items but overall the food was simply mediocre and in most cases just plain bad. Final Thoughts: I really hoped to like this place as it has a similar concept to the renowned Fred's buffet in Lakeland, FL. Unfortunately Granny Cantrell's missed the mark on multiple levels. I would choose Golden Corral over Granny Cantrell's, I hope they says a lot. The one positive thing I can say is that the decor has potential. From the oversized ornate strainers mounted to the booth posts, to the miniature train track overhead- the place has a cool vibe but could use serious updating to bring new life to Granny Cantrell's. This was far from reminding me of a grandma's kitchen.

Food was amazing. Thebeef tips melted in your mouth. First time for the hubby and I. I had to see what the hype was about. Well worth the drive. Hands-down the food was seasoned to the tee. And the dessert was mouth watering 😋 .

I was not impressed with the quality and taste of any of the meat selection at all. The sides and service was fantastic with very friendly staff. Update.. I returned to Granny Cantrell's and was delighted to see a much more appealing meat selection. The side are ALWAYS amazing as is the service. Highly recommend for Lunch.

Food was good, buffet style. Odd that given the COVID numbers in Florida that masks and gloves were not mandatory at the buffet!

Loved it! Classic Country. It's not soul food - by no means - but it's good. Chicken, pulled pork, gizzards, chicken liver for meats. Lots of veggies. HOME MADE CAKE SO PACE YOURSELF. It's a great value. Service was great. Chef Schlanda

Super amazingly friendly staff. Just great! The food was OK. I asked if one particular item in the meal was cooked or not and they, trying to be super helpful made sure it was. If it wasn't I would have asked it removed. It was not what I asked and being dead tired and starving was too polite to say this otherwise tbh was drenched in butter and left me a bit queezy. They 100% meant well. Amazing staff really great atmosphere will return

This place is truly awesome with the at home atmosphere and the good ole country cooking. You can’t help but feel full and happy by time you leave! Food is always good and service is even better!

We hadn't been to Granny Cantrell's in years. It used to be dark and dingy. Now the atmosphere is very pleasant. The food was very good. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The only problem was the air conditioner vent in the ceiling kept dripping on my daughter's arm.

  • 5/5 Thom B. 1 year ago on Google
The food was awesome... Three different kinds of Lima beans, plus collard greens and turnip greens, cooked to perfection... The fried Chicken was really good not to mention the homemade macaroni and cheese.. one of the best meals I had while I was visiting Panama City Beach Florida... Looking forward to going back...

Best country food restaurant I've been to. They use natural ingredients. Made from scratch good quality food. Friendly well attentive staff The restrooms were clean The only thing I would say, I wasn't familiar with those heating bulbs over the food. It was so low that I burnt my hand on it. So be careful. But other than that 5 stars for the efforts of making the food well, fresh. I loved the mash potatoes. This place is definitely ran well.

Home style food you don't have to cook yourself. It's mainly a buffet but they have an option of getting a single plate of a meat and two sides (or similar). They had various gravies, beans, rice, chicken, pork, potatoes, greens, really too much to list. Plus a great selection of desserts and really good salad bar. Husband loved the buffalo wings. We both loved the pecan pie. Tried too much to mention and it was all good. Minus one star just because I made myself an awesome salad with ranch and the ranch was so diluted it barely tasted like anything and kinda ruined the whole salad thing. Will go back! Cute train running the ceiling!

Great place for vegetables, easy flavorful food like you would get at a family gathering. Something for everyone in a clean real food not a bunch of processed garbage. You can make it healthy or you can drive into dessert and all the empty carbs you want but lots of vegetables and protein selections so for eating out a pretty healthy choice, and okay a little dessert is okay just try not to have a slice every dessert

OMG, real southern food. We tried a little of everything since we couldn't decide on a meat and two. YUM. Service was excellent. The menu changes each day, so call if you're looking for a specific dish. Oh, the deserts were out of this world. Expect to gain a few pounds.

Excellent chicken, and fish. In fact it was excellent everything and being an old duffer it was only $12 for my late lunch. Would I go back? I did, took my brother, and loved it that time too.

I'm from Pensacola, so I only get to stop by when I'm here for work. That being said I come literally every chance I get. Everything is seasoned perfectly, and fresh which is so impressive for a buffet style restaurant. The food isn't just good its fantastic. The other reason I love this place is Ms. Taylor. She makes my day.

  • 4/5 Kaylie W. 8 months ago on Google
The breakfast buffet menu includes every must-have southern comfort breakfast item one could think of. Each individual item is cooked to perfection, and their bacon is outstanding! Unfortunately, the train that encircles the top of the restaurant was out of service, but the overall atmosphere was adorable and a great place to stop for a Sunday breakfast!

The food here is delicious. They have a buffet-style setup filled with hot fresh delicious food and the service is good as well. Well done guys keep up the good work!

The food was good. The service was better. It's a bit pricey. I'd expect better quality of food for the price you pay. Prices are determined by the color plate. Which wasn't explained to us. So, we paid an arm and a leg for 2. Bread pudding was amazing! Cheesecake not so much! Also recommend the country fried steak.

  • 5/5 Wade W. 7 months ago on Google
Probably the best southern buffet I ever ate. I'm from Central Alabama and this is 100% how grannys food tasted. Everything was salted and seasoned and had amazing flavor. Highly recommend for anyone wanted some good southern food. Price is very reasonable. I would gladly pay extra for the quality we received. Not the prettiest place, but with food this good it doesn't matter.

I loved the whole design of this place, you can really tell that whoever granny cantrell was that she really loved trains. Now the food, was nothing to write home about, and that’s expected from a buffet. But I will say though, the fried fish and banana pudding was my favorite thing there. The service there wasn’t the best either. We were only able to get one refill the whole time we were there and that’s because we asked. All in all 8/10

If you like home cooking, you'll love this place. 1 to 10, it's a 20. I didn't have to salt to taste the flavor. I'm from Houston on a visit. Have eatin at several places, by far the best. Granny, give the cooks a raise!

We wanted all you could eat country buffet. We had no idea how good this food was going to be. The food was so hot. Our server was so polite and very attentive. The glass never got low and the dirty plate didn’t set more than 2 minutes. I would love to pack this place up and take it home with me. I can’t wait to come back and eat here again.

I like a good benedict for breakfast. However, it's not on the menu. I made up my own style with biscuits, country fried stake, eggs, and white gravy. Delicious! Chef did an amazing job putting the meal together! The customer service was also great! They were very kind and made sure we were taken care of all the way through even while we were leaving. Thank you so much for the excellent service and food! I look forward to coming back again soon.

This place was incredible. I enjoyed the home-cooked food buffet style and it was all just amazing. I will be going back every single time I go to Panama city. My 4 yo son loved all the trains inside and the little cow in the back of the train going for a ride. He thought it was all so fun and he also ate plenty (which is rare. He is picky!) Thanks so much for this amazing experience. ❤️

We love Granny's. We eat here at least once a week. I will admit that some days the food is better than others, but the staff if always friendly and the restaurant is clean. There is one waitress who always remembers us and our drinks. I wish I knew her name. She is the waitress who always writes have a blessed day on the back of the ticket. Thank you Granny's for always serving good country food and filling my belly. See you soon!

Granny Cantrell's is one of the best buffet restaurants I've been to. It's comfortable and casual. The food is definitely home style cooking at it's best and without all those starches and fillers that a lot of these types of establishments use. Their boast of everything is fresh cooked is well deserved. They do have a nice senior discount but it does end at the 5pm hour. Do try their bread pudding for dessert. It's awesome.

  • 5/5 Charles D. 3 years ago on Google
Came in for lunch today. I had a major craving for liver and onions. Thank God they had it on the buffet. The food was truly great and I have now curved my craving for liver and onions. I will be returning at least once or twice a month to keep the craving under control. Thank you for having this.

It really is like dinner at Grandma's house! The staff treats you like family, the restaurant is always very clean, and there's a neat little train that runs around overhead that my daughter just loves. And the food is always phenomenal! If you're looking for down home southern style cooking, this is the best.

Granny Cantrell's is a hidden gem! This is one of the easiest 5 star reviews I have ever written. Granny Cantrell's is the only place my children will eat their vegetables without complaining! While the dinner buffet is my husbands favorite, my children love the vegetables, bread/rolls, and fresh cakes that are baked daily (YES, daily! :-)) but my all time favorite is Granny's breakfast! To be specific, Papa's platter! Thank You Granny Cantrell's for 17 years of AMAZING FOOD!
