We came on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Langkawi and were thoroughly impressed with the food and had an amazing dining experience! Everything was SUPER fresh and extremely tasty. They have a large menu to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our squid, giant prawn, crab and clams! Best of all, the price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommended and for sure we will be back. In fact we already have reservations for our next meal to try more delectable dishes from the menu! We felt very safe dining and the staff observed all COVID protocols and best practices. Second time in 3 days and this meal was even better! Extremely consistent quality. Really going to miss eating here but it will be our first stop next time we are in Langkawi!

We discovered this gems on the way to our resort. All three dishes we order tastes great. We ordered small size kangkung belacan (RM 12) and fried squid (RM 22) yummy. The Asam fish curry (RM 90) yummy yummy 😃. Price affordable. Restaurant clean. Staffs friendly. Overall satisfied. 👍😃

Nice cosy place for lunch, amidst a quaint little village on the west side of the island. The food served was Chinese cuisine with a couple of hits and miss on certain dishes. I enjoyed the salt pepper squid, the Assam fish and the tofu. Recommended to try this place especially when you are on the west side of the island

Excellent service and honest recommendation of their signature dishes. We went over there to have dinner by 5pm. Not one was there and we were the first customers. A very nice Chinese uncle let us in and recommended some dishes to us. We ordered tiger prawn size S, Assam steam Fish, veggie and seafood fried rice, and coconut drinks. The food was very yummy and delicious. Wifi is also available. Even though, this restaurant doesn't offer any sea view like other famous seafood restaurant nearby but their food quality and service are really tip top. Strongly recommended 👍👍👍

The service overall is okay, but the time to wait for food served really slow. I need to wait around 45 minutes for those who have starved. You need to be patience.

Great ambiance and reasonable price! Also the staffs are friendly. But, importantly the food is yummy. And also, halal foods are served (Malay cooks) but beers are served using separate china. The ikan bakar is highly recommended. Would love to go there again.

Good food with good services and cheap price. We two people ordered 4 dishes with Crab, Sotong, Tomyam soup and cabbage and it only cost us RM110. The stuff there was nice and willing to share their stories to us. If you are looking for a seafood restaurant, this will be your good choice.

The place looks local but the food is very pricey almost 30$ for 2 tiger praws be careful when you order, also the taste was not that good in comparison with local places that have better taste and three times cheaper

Ordered three signature dishes for 2 pax: Tiger Prawns with The Roof signature sauce (pumpkin salted egg), Garlic fried squid and Belachan Fried Chicken. Overall tastes alright, but in the pricer side for Chinese cuisine, given the prawn is charged based on weight. Ordered iced lemon tea, and the drink was passable. Apparently rated as a must try Chinese cuisine by many reviewers, but your mileage may vary.

Didn't plan to come here at 1st but bump into it on my way, driving. The outlook caught my attention & went to search on the food they served. Did not disappoint me. The food was delicious 😋 a lucky coincidence

This was an unplanned visit to the restaurant and it was an understated surprise towards the offers of the charming little restaurant. The food offered were fresh and delicious. Price was reasonable. The surroundings has many beautiful bonsais to compliment the quaint atmosphere.

We were there with 8 packs and we were hungry right after landing. Furthermore, the food tasted good and we "walup" all the dishes and forgot to take pictures. Anyway, they served a unique prawn dish with creamy sauce which I cannot remember the name of it. Sorry! The gravy was unique and the seafood was fresh. That is the most crucial point. Other dishes were yummy as well with the heavier side towards the spices and sauces. The atmosphere is cozy with interesting decor but no sea view. I heard the boss himself is a picker and decorated the place with unique finds from the island. In short, if you have arrived here and are looking for a safe place to eat, as in delectability, this place will not disappoint. The price could be a little pricier for some local tourists.

The food tastes good, but some seafood a bit expensive than other restaurants.

We were in 2 adults and 2 toddlers, we had 1 vege (small), 1 fish (by weight), 1 soup (small), 2 pieces tiger prawn (by weight), 3 rice total bill approximately rm225 which included service tax. Taste was not bad however the ingredients is little. The fish was over fried and the dishes’ portions were relatively small compared to other restaurants’ dishes in small, as well as a little bit pricy. Overall still visitable if you want Chinese cuisine which near airport but not walking distance.

Very very reasonably priced tasty Chinese style seafood. Friendly service! The tiger prawn with pumpkin sauce is amazing! The set up is quite tidy and clean. An impressive bonsai garden is a nice surprise. We went there two days in a row and no disappointment whatsoever.

I don't know why they get such high review, but it definitely not up to standard. Food doesn't taste good. Fruits juice mix with water, unsatisfied dinner experience

Great food! Not sure why it’s underrated. Anyone craving for seafood in Langkawi should come to The Roof Restaurant.
