We stayed in a 12 bed room for 4 nights, here's our feedback: PROS - The hostel is cleaned multiple times a day. The bathrooms and showers were always in good condition (plus they're incredibly spacious). - Given the common area and how communal it is, it's a great space to meet other travellers, especially if you're a solo traveler. CONS - Noisy. Our room was the first room opposite of the common space, and most nights people were partying until 0100-0400. The walls are not soundproof so we could hear everything (earplugs are a must at this hostel). Plus, some of our roommates stumbled in at 0400, were very loud and having full volume conversations with each other. - The aircon in our room was not adjustable and the room was constantly stuffy. The room consistently smelt like a combination of stuffy air and bad BO. - The mattresses/ pillows are not the most comfortable and the pillow didn't have the best smell. - 12 bed room felt like too many people, with people always coming and going and zipping and packing backpacks at 0200, 0500 and 0600. I couldn't imagine staying in the 32 bed room. I would classify this as a party hostel. If that's your vibe and/or you're a solo traveler wanting to meet other travellers, then this hostel is for you and you'll enjoy your stay here. But if you prefer a more calm and quiet environment and value a good night's sleep, I would advise against this hostel.

This was my first hostel experience and it was freaking amazing! ㅤ To be honest, even though I read a ton of great reviews online about this hostel, I was still hesitant to stay and considered switching to a hotel a few days before I arrived 😅 ㅤ But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and give it a shot. ㅤ And boy, am I glad I did! I totally fell in love with the place on my first day here. ㅤ Most of the other travelers I met were solo travelers, and everyone was super friendly. ㅤ The hostel also had some activities for us to join in on, and the volunteers cleaned the place constantly, so it was always super clean 👍 ㅤ Even as an introvert, I found the environment super easy to socialize in. ㅤ And get this, all the other travelers were considerate of each other's feelings, so even though there were a lot of people in the dorm, it was mostly quiet and I slept like a baby. ㅤ Overall, it was an amazing experience for me, and a great opportunity to improve my social skills. ㅤ If I'm ever traveling solo to Langkawi again, Bed Attitude will definitely be my one and only choice!

The place is super clean and that's why I choose it. Appart from that it's a party hostel with young English and Asian super noisy all night, with 0 respect for others in the dorms. If you are 20 maybe this is the place for you, but if you're in your 30 skip it. The people at the reception are not the most friendly and it's a big hostel with a lot of people. Noise until late as people come and leave to party, don't expect to get sleep before 1am and you can be awake at 4am when people come back from their parties. It's a capsule style hostel but insulation is not so good so you hear people snoring, and no windows. They also charge for everything so if you go outside you will find better deals.

Bed Attitude is a very good hostel option for Langkawi if you’re in the area. It is by far one of the most clean hostels I have ever stayed at - and somewhat cleaner than many hotels I’ve also stayed at. Design of the capsules is thought out, bathrooms are well designed and clean. The jostle has a co-working space with AC and decent wifi (not fantastic, but expectations were met). All hostel guests just remove their shoes when inside the hostel; as stated, this is not a problem because of the cleanliness of the hostel floors. Lockers are located outside the rooms, which I prefer due to noise. The hostels location is good; it is near the outskirts of the beach “tourist” center; very walkable to all attractions in this area. About 15 minutes from the hotel. I am rating 5 stars, but there is room for improvement. Overall, these did not detract my rating because my expectations were met for the price. First, there is a policy where the front desk will wake you up at 9:30am on your checkout day. I found this to be intrusive and rude; people staying in this hostel are not children. The staff were very kind and helpful, but I would not call the hostel “welcoming.” There was no greeting when walking in or checking out. It is also unclear who is staff and who is a volunteer hostel representative. No apparent manager, yet all the hotel tasks were completed. Some staff (or reps) seemed rather uninterested in their jobs, but that’s pretty typical for staff/reps in this field. Hostel has a strange social vibe; really easy to meet new people but also a little more cliquish when groups formed than I’d find at other hostels. Reps didn’t do anything obvious to push people together during my stay. Overall a very nice stay and I would stay again - and I highly recommend it as the place to stay on Langkawi if you’re looking for a hostel. No other hostel is going to come close to the quality of this one on the island.

I would envy the citizens of any country run by a government that has half the foresight, capability and enthusiam of the small and affable crew of Bed Attitude. The well thought out hostel layout and facilites, the house-rules and signages, all point to good intention and foresight. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Cleanliness is impecable, where squeeky clean floors are cleaned multiple times a day. Toilet/bathroom has industrial feel, and was clean and airy. The only possible problem I can see is that a few inconsiderate or uncooperative guests can really spoil the day for others. Glad to say that all I saw was happy people during my 4 day stay, with only some very minor noise issues from over enthusiastic happy guests.

The hostel is amongst the most pricey ones on the island. You get a 32 dorm room for that. Pro: - silent area is great to work or just rest and chill. Obviously it’s quiet. - common area has a pool table - location is good with lots of restaurants and bars around Cons: - beds are highly uncomfortable. For 55 mr you should get a mattress which has at least basic comfort. Mine was used so much that it was already “u”-shaped. - strict rules with where to be quiet and then no one follows them really. The common area is always a party place with many drunk people and it smells then… - WiFi is really poor when everyone wants to connect - for the luxury price of 55 mr you still have to rent a towel for 5mr -> fix your mattresses and get more comfortable ones. Lower the price to 40-45 ringgit and give towels for free and it’s a decent place.

I like the feeling of being alone in a shared area😆. There's peace within me somehow. Checkout the quiet zone, that's my favourite spot to work daily. The Christmas party was so awesome!

The best hostel I have been in actoss Thailand, Malaysia and Signapore. It has everything a backpacker needs - from safe lockers to clean and private toilets, a great and lively common room with pool and darts. They rent out bikes and give great advice on what to do in the Langkawi island. Price is also reasonable

I have been staying here for 9 days, this is definitely the first choice for backpackers. It is also open to private room accommodation for families. The owners, staff and volunteers are very nice. The environment space is also very clean and comfortable. There is also an open kitchen for everyone to use , Also a free table pool for everyone to have fun. I will be back and would recommend it to other friends

The mattresses and pillows in the mixed dorms are almost impossible to sleep on, very thin and hard - there's a reason no one gets up earlier than 10am, they can't sleep. Very sociable common areas with a pool table, darts and lots of table/sitting areas. The staff are great and there's plenty of activities to book from them, including the hostel's own scooters. The scooters are as you would expect from a busy hostel on an island with no PT, a bit worn but not unsafe if you know what you're doing. The facilities (aside from the beds) are perfect, big showers with good pressure and hot water. The kitchen is small but has hot and cold drinking water for use. The wifi unfortunately doesn’t work at all in the 32 bed mixed dorm, and cell signal doesn’t reach there either. The whole hostel is cleaned multiple times a day Good sized lockers are provided outside the rooms.

Great spacious place to stay in Langkawi and conveniently located. Good vibe which is hard as there aren't many tourists back in Malaysia. Also the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in.

Fantastic hostel to stay in. Despite having some friction with the manager whilst working there, I have to say this is probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The entire place is tailored to be as open as possible for all types of travellers. Solo travellers will have an amazing time since it's incredibly easy to meet people, groups will have a great space to hang out in and those who want their own privacy can easily tuck themselves away. This is all down to an amazing lounge area which is beautifully arranged to feel open and inviting, it's incredibly easy to talk to anyone and the hostel makes everyone feel comfortable. The rooms do range from small to large, but you are given a pod type bed, so you still feel isolated (in a nice way) when going to bed, even in the large 32 bed dorm. Everything is spotless and the cleaning is top notch. Bathrooms are also extremely clean, with a mixed shower and bathroom that has enough facilities for everyone. Staff will go out of their way to sort anything and there is a nice level of professionalism mixed with a casual approach, so everyone integrates. This makes the entire place feel extremely welcoming if you do need something. Location is perfect, it's right next to the beach and there are places to eat dotted everywhere. You can also book tours through and laundry through the reception. The party vibe of this hostel is special also, despite not being or feeling like a 'party hostel'. It was a common sight to see something going on in the main area, with people staying up and drinking to early hours. Even with that, you wouldn't notice it if you wanted to go to bed early, since the bed arrangement prevents anyone from being woken up by drunk guests stumbling around. If you're volunteering, bare in mind that it is pretty much all cleaning and not like other hostels where they like to mix you with guests. If you are mostly interested in just staying in a bed, then it is a good deal, especially if you can hack the cleaning. There is a level of disrespect towards volunteers though, and if staff are reading this, the reason I was so annoyed was due to the tone and disrespect showed to me from day one. Other than that, you can't fault it at all. It's just great value, perfect for everyone and you will have a fantastic time regardless of who you are.

Yes I’m way too old for backpacker’s places, except- what can I say - I’m not. Actually I was just curious about the place, since I got attracted by the pictures due to my profession as interior designer. I wasn’t disappointed at all. The place comes with fine sense of modern design in authentic industrial shape, alongside a reduced, kinda minimalist outfit. But this is first glance, if you take a closer look, simply everything just makes perfect sense- nothing more you need - nothing you miss. I was honored to have a long chat with the creator and owner of the place. Who kindly gave me an inside of the career of the place, the bummer he had to take in, caused by the pandemic, his source of inspiration and his mindset towards building economics, staffing and promotion. He used a word any other host or owner wouldn’t want to call on his house: „Cheap“ - I can say, I’ve never seen a „cheap“ thing coming along with this high feel of worthiness! Imagine you bargained a Porsche at the price of a Toyota! Read the other recommendations for the basics. Come here to feel the true dedication of a management capable to compete the best backpacking accommodations around the world, and I can say: I’ve seen some… Everything below 5 stars would be an insult!!

I've never been in a cleaner hostel, if the staff aren't at the counter, you'll find them cleaning. I stayed in the 32 bed dorm as it was very pleasant and quiet, though I heard that before I'd arrived there were people belong loud at night and doing certain activities in the beds. Book at your own risk... 😂 Decent social atmosphere, although the hostel doesn't plan any events, you can book things with them. Sometimes the staff go for a drink after work, and it's an experience going out with them as they're inexperienced drinkers. Bike rental is the same as everywhere, 35 ringgit for 24 hours. I liked that they thoroughly checked the bikes were in working condition before they were rented, ensuring that the signal and brake lights work as expected. My only issue was with booking a return ferry trip to Koh Lipe, something happened with the return booking and the office had no idea that I had paid for a ticket. However, one stressful WhatsApp call to Bed Attitude and everything was sorted in 30 minutes, with 30 minutes to spare before the ferry departed. I'd recommend getting a receipt if you get a ticket, as I had nothing.

I stayed here for a little over 3 weeks. I loved my stay here. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The facilities are really good and you're close to the beach. The beer is really cheap, plus there are always people hanging out and planning activities to do. If you come to langkawi, I highly recommend staying here.

I have not been to many hostels but I am super impressed with this one. It is really clean and the vibes are good! I love love love that there is a huge workspace. I am not working but it is just so nice to have a quiet room. You can’t take calls from there but it is so nice! It is clear an adult runs this hostel - if you know what I mean. It has a nice social vibe but quiet at 11pm!!!!!! It is so nice! The staff is lovely.

Had a great stay! The hostel was big, the airconditioning worked great, and everything was tidy and clean. The host and the volunteers were very friendly, and the location was nice too. We actually booked 2 extra days, and if I ever go to Langkawi again I will book this hostel again!

Hostel was really great Easy to commute Best stay for solo travellers and to make new friends. Best thing is duty free malls, McDonald in front of hostel and games. Try to spare at-least 3 days to stay here. Beach is very close. Very clean. You will see travellers helping others in cleaning and maintaining decorum. Must stay. Cheers

Very clean, have to walk with barefoot. Staff is nice and helpful. We are staying in a 4 woman room and that’s nice and clean. Really slept well. You can hear people talk at the hallway but after 11, you have to be quiet. Me and my sister will recommend this to other backpackers while they are here in Langkawi

  • 2/5 Hannah K. 9 months ago on Google
The hostel is designed in a way that makes it very insecure. Do not be surprised if you lose your valuables here. Anyone can walk into the dorms because there are no locks. Lockers are in the corridor so easily accessible to thieves. It would be better if the dorms had key card access, were smaller and lockers inside. Aside from this, the hostel is very clean and social.

  • 3/5 Lisa L. 10 months ago on Google
Although it's a nice enough hostel, it's not cheap. Mattress' thin . They have terrible practice of waking up people an hour before check out and furthermore starts changeover and cleaning dorms well before 11am . Instead of leaving on a good note I'm irritated and upset. Lights out at 11 at night giving people a curfew as if they are children in school. The thing is it's cleaned, but staff are always cleaning and sweeping unnecessarily and just in the way. Needs seating outdoors. No soap in shower Need hooks for towels Expensive deposit Non staying guests not welcome to hangout

One of the best hostels I’ve been! So so clean, staff is amazing, common room has everting you want/need. It’s also in the details: spacious shower with enough hooks to hang stuff, enough space to dry clothes, iron available for everyone, easy scooter rental. Ryan and all the others, thanks!

Do you want a hostel that is full of good vibes but quiet and pleasant at the same time? Then this is the place for you! Special thanks to Ash, who made me feel comfortable from the first minute (❤️) But also thanks to all the wonderful girls (🧡) who are always smiling and very kind. And thank you to Ryan (💙) for being always so helpful and available. Besides the adorable cat that greets you with lots of purring, the hostel has a huge common room, which is extremely clean. The showers are extremely big, the dorms are great and with a curtain that allows you to have your own privacy. There is also a small kitchen to keep your drinks cool or cook something. If I could, I would vote 100 instead of 10. Thank you very much for this great experience, I will definitely come back!

Hostel has a nice vibe and is extremely clean. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Price is reasonable and location is very convenient. Though, private room is not as pretty as rest of hostel and is quite bleak looking. Would recommend to go for dorm unless necessary.

Really sets the golden standard for what a great hostel can be. Such a nice interior design that makes you feel like the owners really put some thought and energy into this endeavor. Custom bunk dorms give you an entirely private and stable mini-bedroom. No shaking from the person below! Custom bathrooms for efficiency, kept clean. No cheap plastic doors and tubs just concrete floors walls and metal doors. Big bookshelf, tons of comfortable places to hang out including a balcony. Mini kitchen with almost everything you might need. Powerful AC in the rooms means you can sleep soundly.

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff is wonderful and the hostel facilitates plenty of activities such as island hopping and mangrove exploration tours. Laundry services are facilitated and on-site scooter rental is available. Overall this really is what a hostel should be. It's clean, and simple with plenty of things to do. Would definitely stay here again. The one downside is that the mattresses are quite thin and because they're just put on a flat surface I did notice the onset of some backpain after a while. But for a couple of nights definitely the best hostel to stay on Langkawi!

  • 5/5 Traveling O. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great stay! Even though we stayed in one of the largest shared rooms we had a peaceful sleep with earplugs. The curtains on each bunker give some privacy and the room is nicely cooled. I never had problems getting into a shower, and the water pressure was amazing 😄 besides that, the hostel is very clean and the staff is amazing 🥰 they booked 2 very cool tours for us. The ambience in the hostel in the evening is also great, it is chill and social and we were really fond of the pool table that we could use for free. However, if you want to be less social there are opportunities for working (plenty of electric plugs on the shared big table) and taking a nap on the comfortable bean sacks.

Best hostel I've stayed at. Very well managed, super clean, and great vibes overall. The common area is huge, well decorated and has good space to work, chill, eat or play pool. Staff organizes outings and activities, and look after their guests. Highly recommend

Clean hostel, affordable place, great people and community they are building here. Despite there's a bar behind me, I could not hear anything at all. That means if you sleep early or late, chances are you may not hear it. Did I mention how clean this place is given its a hostel? Puts some hotel to shame even.

The Bed Attitude in Chenang is a good place to meet people, socialize and just hang out in the nice common area that has this coffee shop vibe. It’s a very good location close to several beaches and many delicious, yet affordable restaurants. The place is clean and modern and the staff is super friendly and helpful! Thanks for the nice stay 🌞

Spent 3 nights at Bed Attitude Hostel. Definitely worth the price. The hostel is very spacious, facilities are good, and well maintained with very good cleanliness, including toilet area. The owner and the staffs are very helpful and friendly. Definitely will go back and stay. Very recommended to those who is looking for hostel.

Super clean! Entire place is given a thorough cleaning first thing every morning, then occasionally throughout the day. Bathrooms are well ventilated and there are plenty of cubicles. There is also a specific drying area which is very helpful. Hair dryer & iron available for use. Snug and comfy pod beds with their own reading light / plug / built in USB plugin. Each bed had their own curtain for privacy. Strong air conditioning and again the rooms were super clean (for exceptionally dirty or messy people, please note that they do not clean inside your pod due to respect for your personal space / items / privacy). One of the major things I lookout for in a hostel is the common area - the one at Bed Attitude was amazing with a big spacious table which gives off major coworking space / hot desking vibes and smaller tables if you wish to work alone. There's a pool table, darts machine, and mini theatre area with lots of big bean bags. Free drinking water and use of the kitchen. Harry the owner is a great cook and regularly enjoys cooking meals for all of us. I ate so well while I was here! Chicken and vegetable curry, seafood aglio olio, chicken rice, kangkung belacan, seafood jiggae, etc etc. Staff (Harry, Azim, and Miki) really go the extra mile by organizing plenty of activities for the hostel guests. We went to a few waterfalls together, Skull Beach, Sunset Cruise, and many others. I booked all my tours with the hostel as they provide the best price and exceptional value. Great location, near to many attractions and walking distance to popular spots such as Hidden Cafe / Dash Bar / Zon Duty Free / etc.

Great place to stay at when visiting Langkawi. Tho it's a little on the pricier side, it's worth it considering how clean, comfortable and social it is. Very easy to meet people if you are traveling solo as there is a huge social area. The water filter is a nice bonus. Everything is close by also.

Great place to stay in Langkawi. Friendly staff. Bunks are clean, sturdy, quiet and large. Bathrooms are common and clean. The hostel scene is good. Cooking options arent much. But still a great place. They have a nice billiards table and dart board. Nice common room and open space for people to interact. Nearby stores to purchase food and stuff. Wished they had a standard simple breakfast and a possible lift. As u have to take luggage up two staircases.

Cons: 32bed room - there is no functional wifi, terrible cheap over stuffed pillows, bunks have a limited airflow unless you leave the curtains open. Overall I had no good sleep 3/3 nights. Pros: great bathrooms and huge showers. Nice common area with a pool table. It feels safe. Love the house cat.
