Very standard hostel, unfortunatly langkawi lacks decent places to stay unless you put your hand in your pocket. Theres hardly a window, so mosquitos are a definite, a shower curtain for a curtain which is pointless as it doesnt stop any light. Bed bugs in the bed and a very small lock for the door and the bathroom is shared between 5 rooms. You cant argue its value for money either. Its a no go...stay closer to the beach near the airport, as theres more happening also.

I was going to give a good review because it's a very laidback hostel with a big porch where you can chill out, listen to nice reggae music in the background and lie in a hammock. Unfortunately the guard dog tore up my flip flops, the shoes of another guest and a third guest was missing a flip flop. I informed the owner and asked if he was insured but he laughed at us and said he wasn't responsible because it's a stray dog, eventhough they feed it and advertise with it as their guard dog and even blamed on nature and karma. As the proprietor of an accommodation you are responsible for the safety and well-being of your guests on your property. But regardless of who is responsible by law or cultural perspectives; I'm pissed because he didn't have the courtesy to sympathise and apologize for what happened. That's the main issue here. They locked the dog outside the fenced garden during the night but it would sneak back in when someone went through the gate. You can have a perfectly good stay here if nothing happens but know that if it does, this is how you will be treated.

After having massive devistation to the property after a storm the staff have done lots of work to the place. The lady who runs the hostel is amazing. She showed us places to go, prices for activities and where the market would be each night. I would highly recommend staying here. The vibe is very chill. It's close to the beach and also come with a kitchen you can use and clean drinking water!

Wonderful staff! Good location for people looking for a more chill stay. Easy walk to a quiet beach and just a few min from the main drag. If you looking for a budget friendly hostel in Langkawi you can’t go wrong here.

Small familiar hostel with a great staff and great environment. Some of the conditions could be a little better and that's why I don't give it five stars. The vibe of the hostel is different from the traditional ones and that may not be for everyone

I would stay here forever, such a nice and chill place to be. We even had a barbecue one night which was delicious. Thank you Max for your hospitality, keep up the good vibes!!

The owners are pretty cool, helpful and kind. Nearly two years ago, still sometimes in contact. Perfect for open minded people e.g. on travel.
