It's
the
quiet
season
but
you
can
always
depend
on
Chabad
to
have
an
open
door
welcome
ready.
Excellent
location,
two
minutes
from
the
beach
and
an
easy
walk
to
the
gorgeous
harbour,
in
the
unaccountably
rather
shabby
and
run
down
Kato
Paphos
neighborhood
right
in
the
heart
of
the
old
town,
where
the
streets
are
lined
with
citrus
trees
that
cover
the
sidewalks
in
windfall
fruits.
Lovely,
spacious
and
modern
shul/community
centre.
Minyanim
were
thinly
attended
midweek
but
managed
to
get
the
numbers
morning
(8.30)
and
afternoon
(4.45).
Davenning
is
very
brisk
and
felt
a
bit
perfunctory
TBH,
nusach
Ari
of
course,
but
with
a
strong
Israeli/Sefardi
flavour.
A
small
kosher
groceries
shop
is
very
close
by,
with
a
range
of
basics,
including
frozen
bread/pitta
and
some
fresh
kosher
milk
(from
the
freezer?).
There
are
two
restaurants:
meaty
one
attached
to
the
shul,
and
milky
just
a
minutes
walk
away.
Both
are
attractive,
spacious
and
with
a
good,
tasty
and
good
value
basic
menu,
of
necessity
limited
to
just
a
few
choices
of
dishes
especially
in
the
quiet
season.
It
would
be
good
if
some
fish
options
(especially,
say,
fried
fish
and
chips)
could
be
added
to
the
milky
restaurant's
menu.
Service
when
we
ate
at
the
meaty
restaurant
was
fast,
helpful,
friendly
and
responsive.
The
food
was
tasty
and
portions
generous,
and
the
chips
(fries)
excellent.
Looking
forward
to
visiting
again.
