We were charged 60€ for one tomato sauce pasta, one greek salad, halloumi and a tiny hummus/tzatziki bowl because there were 4 people at the table (two of them were kids). We have paid the bill and then asked why is the owner charging us more then it’s said on the menu. We were literally kicked out then. He was shouting “Out! Out!”. Kids were shocked Unbelievable impunity. I’m totally filing a complaint to the Consumer Protection Service.

I am not very picky about the accommodation usually I just sleep there and take a shower, but sometimes it was difficult. The worst thing was that pictures doesn’t match with a reality. For this price you can get much more better in Paphos as I did. And I don’t will even start with a breakfast 🙄

Went with friends to dine in a restaurant and saw on the menu that the prices are above average. The man who introduced himself as the chef asked what our budget was and offered us dishes that matched our budget for lunch. The food was good. When we asked for the bill, they didn’t bring it to us but voiced 100 euros. We asked why so expensive? More expensive than the cost of the dishes on the menu. After that the chef reduced the price to 80 euros. We have already agreed to quickly pay off and leave. But when they started paying through the terminal, he introduced 90 euros for payment. -Food was good -Nice interior -But the scam and inconsistency of prices in the menu and the bill spoiled the whole impression of the restaurant

The manager George (very impolite and rude, picture attached) cancelled my booking without notice informing us about no place available only at 9pm once arrived to check in leaving us on the road. Completely shame on this place, if you want to take the risk to book and discover just once there not to have a room feel free to book here. I’ve warned you. According to other reviews it’s not even the first time.

I paid for 2 nights stay and once arrived the owners told us that the room was not more available in a bad manner complaining about the fact that I reserved and paid the hotel few hours before the arrival! Told us that issue was our and that the room was gone!after a lot of complaints (seemed like he didn’t even want to give back our money) he proposed us to go to the near hotel (a house without AC) so we complained as we just wanted to get the room we paid..and the owner gave us the smallest and less comfortable room ever seen (magically there was a room available??). Maybe they have few rooms as in the photos shown on booking, but we experienced an uncomfortable room and ackward stay, my advice is to go to another hotel because you never know at your arrival what to expect.

Do not be deceived by the “authentic” and quaint look. The traditional Cypriot food is terrible. Never had such a cheap and tasteless kleftiko in 3 years of living in Cyprus and 7 return holidays. Should have realised when we were served by none Cypriot staff and only one male Cypriot greeting. (Ladies were Asian and Afro-Caribbean). We also had a bottle white wine, which that was disgusting, had no label and cost €25. (We didn’t even drink half of it). When we told the waitress we were not happy, she said sorry and rushed away. They offered a complimentary “jelly” dessert, which we declined and asked for the bill. The bill came with a business card which said “ if you liked it, tell others. If you didn’t, tell me”. On the way out we told the male that we did not enjoy it and how bad it was. He never said a word and just shrugged his shoulders. (He spoke English on the way in, so it wasn’t a language barrier). Would not recommend or return.

The worst “hotel” in Paphos, old pictures on the reservation site. Old evaluations when maybe the hotel was still good that increase the actual rating of this dated and old place. Old, dirty, smelling bad. Breakfast is some tea/coffee with some vegetables, I don’t have the words to explain it. And it’s 70€ per night in the cheap period, stay somewhere else for your wellness .

George is a VERY rude and violent man. he literally hit me and kicked me from the hotel (I'm pregnant) This person should be in JAIL!!!! I think his mind betrayed him due to his old age. This place might was good once but now George instills terror and fear in the poor and sad employees of the hotel as well as the innocent guests that think this hostel is good due the old positive reviews. If you care about yourself and your relatives avoid by any means!!!

I still don’t understand how there are some positive reviews on this place.. I really don’t know where to start.. Firstly, upon arrival, there was no one at the reception. We had to search for someone to talk to just to check in. The lady who talked to us had no track on when we checked in as she had no access to a computer! As for the rooms, they were really old and not clean. The pillows are like rocks and so uncomfortable, and the sheets were dirty; we found a spider on the pillow! The breakfast…where to begin!! It was literally inedible and nauseating. The hot water thermos was rusty and looked like it hasn’t been washed for years! We literally went and had breakfast outside the hotel. The only positive thing about this place was the location, as it was 2 minutes away from the bus stop. Will definitely never go there again..

Lovely hotel bang in the centre of the old city, It is clean and tidy and the owner George is a true gent. My flight landed around 1am and George was extremely accommodating. He greeted me on arrival although it was an ungodly hour! He had hot beverages and a couple sandwiches prepared with a veggie option too. He even offered me a late checkout and breakfast at no extra cost. Considering such service and the economical price I was very happy with my stay-Although short it was memorable for all of the right reasons.

Nice traditional hotel/taverna in the old town area, handy for restaurants, bars. Not beach. Well kept hotel and tidy. George is an excellent host and the staff are as you would wish. Efficient. Healthy breakfast! George's artworks dotted around compliment the ambience. Parking can be a nuisance, best to ensure you have a wheeled luggage case. Good value. Will stay again.

Walked into the restaurant for lunch. Waited 5 mins for anyone to turn up, ordered a halloumi pita from the menu to be greeted by "I make salads not sandwiches" we pointed to the menu, he replied "who is the boss here?". We walked out.

We booked thru their website but when we got there, there was no room for us. While the owner offered to bring us to another hotel—he was very nice—we found another option (Casa Mespilea) close by. He said that he didn’t know we were coming even though he could have emailed me as their website booking information included my email address. We didn’t lose any money, but follow up if you book thru their website.

Most bad reviews are purely about the hotel but our experience with the restaurant was equally bad. We received a free but open and bad bottle of wine while we had to wait for our table. The typical Greek appetizers were fine but neither the steak, moussaka or kalamari were any good. The owner looked bossy towards the rest of the staff and the general atmosphere was really unpleasant.

We stayed in Kiniras Hotel during July of 2021. The hotel is not bad, it’s well decorated. The room was small but clean and was enough for the stay at that price. Also, the breakfast was included and it was so good and varied. The problem came when we told the owner that if there was a possibility to do our laundry there. He told us yes, for the price of 5€. We gave him the clothes and he gave it to one of the girls of the cleaning staff. The next day, I asked for my clothes and what they gave me was almost the half of what a I gave to them. We asked him because we were sure about all the clothes we gave to him. When we told him, he asked the girl who did the laundry and she told us that she didn’t know about it. Then, the owner checked in his own things and he didn’t find nothing. The problem was not only that the clothes mysteriously disappeared, also that, during the first moments, the attitude of the owner was not respectful with us, almost accusing us that we didn’t give them that amount of clothes and we were lying and, also, speaking in the phone with other people while he was with us, so we barely could speak with him about it. He wasn’t paying attention to us. We said to him that we had to come back to Paphos during the last day of our trip so, we wrote in a list our name and contact and the list of clothes that had disappeared. When we came back to Paphos, one week later, nothing was found, but at least the owner was more respectful with us, maybe because he realised that we weren’t lying. We still don’t know what happened with the clothes and, for sure, we don’t want to accuse anybody, neither the owner nor the staff, who had been with him, as he told us, for at least two years. But we are just exposing our experience in this hotel to let everybody know what happened. We know exactly which clothes we gave to them and we didn’t ask for any refund, because the only thing we wanted was our clothes back. The owner offered us a free dinner for that but we refused it, because we didn’t want it as an exchange.

Awful hotel in reality. Dirty room with spiders and 2 cockroaches. My husband killed them. Dirty lounge with very old nasty Sofas and other sitting possibilities also half broken and smelly. Breakfast was disgusting. Bread had had mold on it. Cheese and ham smelled somehow weird. Ham looked kinda green. Gross! The restaurant has very overpriced menus for what at the end is on the plate. They do their grocery at a discounter. Cheap ingredients used and high prices demand from silly tourist. Like we don’t have any taste. My husband and I had an upset stomach. He had to vomit twice that day. Nowhere are sanitizer! Stuff and owner didn’t wear masks! Hello there is a pandemic!!! I definitely can’t recommend this nasty place. Pictures are from many years ago or photoshopped. In reality it doesn’t look like the pictures. Definitely also not the rooms! All photoshopped. We checked out the other day and stayed in another hotel which was like heaven for us after this horrible experience at Kiniras Hotel. Safe your money and book somewhere else! I wished someone has told me the truth earlier about that nasty Hotel.

Lovely traditional hotel and restaurant in centre of Old City, so very close to the old market, the Kennedy square and the bus station. It was an easy walk down to the harbour and the bus services are excellent. The owner is helpful and super friendly, the breakfast is wonderful with many options and the restaurant offers excellent authentic dishes. I had been travelling alone for 6 weeks and stayed twice both times it felt like a home as all staff were lovely. If arriving from airport check the bus service and if you have to take a taxi (ex[pensive and run by a mafi of tax drivers -dont pay more than 30E).

A beautiful traditional hotel and restaurant very close to the old market, the Kennedy square and the intercity bus station. The owner is just the right kind of grumpy to be charming, the breakfast is wonderful with many vegan options and the restaurant offers excellent authentic dishes. The best thing is the dining room with a lot of greenery and, if you're lucky, cute kitties for company.

The location is good because the street is busy and has many shops and restaurants. The parking situation is not good though. The hotel grounds and rooms are outdated but mostly clean. The wifi is our room was basically non existent and there was no control over the air conditioning (just an on/off switch)

An amazing dining experience at the restaurant. Beautiful courtyard and wonderful staff! Not to mention the dishes themselves which were mouthwatering. A heartwarming moment overall.

Loved this traditional, quirky, old family hotel with a courtyard garden. In the centre of Paphos with easy access to local buses so excellent location. George, the owner always around to ask advice. Staff very friendly. The food was excellent. What more could you ask for. Perfect.

Romantic restaurant 5 stars in the courtyard. No one can suspect that there is such a nice traditional place for eating in the middle of the heart of Paphos. Mrs Anthi, the waitress behave so polite like she is the owner of the restaurant, the dinner very delicious and in the end bring to us complimentary traditional dessert with a shot of Zivania. Definatly recommended and we will come again. Thank you 😊

This place saved our holiday! We wanted to stay in other apartment, but it was very dirty, so we needed a place to stay in the middle of the night, and it was exactly there. Very kind and helpful service. Good breakfast, clean and tidy room with air conditioner. It was pleasure to visit this hotel!

Me and and my friend spent there 3 nights during Easter. We were overall happy with our stay and would come again :-) I read few reviews and I'd like to react to repetitive complaints..do not expect big room, neither a tv or a balcony. As you can read, most of the rooms have 18m - they are really tiny, with older equipment, BUT COZY and clean. And the room service comes and cleans every day. We actually both slept very well all three nights. And you find there all you need. If you want to spend your time inside the hotel during your stay in Paphos, go somewhere else, but if you go there to explore the city, go to stay in Kiniras. Also the location is perfect. Breakfasts are average but if you're lucky to be served George's tahini pie and if you can eat it outside, it becomes beyond average ;-) we were lucky all three mornings. George, the manager, is one of a kind, very strong character. Dont be mistaken, he can seem strong in expression, but based on our experience it comes from wisdom and hospitality. He seems to be basically heart of the hotel. We argued about size of our room, again - 18m cant expect to be 30m..but he showed us other rooms, moved us from one to single bed room, with no grudge. And he stayed himself nothing but polite till the end of our stay. And even gave us drinks on a hotel one night.. Again, I can only reccommend :-)

Right in the old town, a historical old building with lots of character. The room I had was great for the price, breakfast is particularly good, and George is the perfect guy to run it! I'd definitely go back again.

Simply the tastiest kleftiko in cyprus! All the dishes cooked to perfection. The Chef and owner George is a phenomenal cook and a lovely host. An absolute must visit for traditional Cypriot cuisine!

Wow, Wow, Wow. After many years in Paphos, we decided to try this restaurant, after we have walked past many times. George, the owner and Chef was very attentive. The food was by far the best authentic food we have had here. Give you certainly won't be disappointed.

Great host and amazing hotel! I was helped and recommended the best options for my journey. Great architecture, the modern and ancient in one! I slept wonderfully, the food was great, with an amazing soft aftertaste. The blend of spices is unique and yet soft and mild. I strongly recommend the mussaka for lunch, the coffee and the juice with fruits in the morning. After you taste them, you will.feel soft, mild afrertaste that will make you remember the experience forever. Coffee is not strong, it kept me energized and I could sleep very good at night. I still remember the soft nutty taste of it. The fruit juice has fruits inside, also pomegranate seeds and a very special fruity aftertaste. This is my first time to have such a nice gourmet experience. Portions are big, ice cream is wonderful, has special taste and light. Beds are soft, warm and comfortable, with a romantic curtain above your head. I want to come back and stay longer!

This hotel is smack bang in the pedestrian area of the old town. The rooms are clean and tidy, but dated. It certainly has that retro feel to it. Quaint private garden area where you can have breakfast. Our room had a great view of the Agios Kendra's church. George and his staff are friendly and helpful 😊 Note. If you come by car there is a free parking area across the street through a walkway past Agros burgers and the To Steno restaurant. You can access it from the Nikou Antoniadi street. See screenshot

We spent a wonderful evening in the restaurant today. The food was really well done, personnel - very nice and open, overall atmosphere - “home like”. Bravo! Highly recommend :-)

Lovely hotel in the heart of the city. The staff was friendly, the room was cleaned everyday and the linens were changed daily. The bathroom was equipped with shower toiletries. Breakfast was easily the best part: the buffet had traditional Cyprus breakfast (scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, yoghurt, pastries, olives, fresh vegetables ecc..) as well as more “standard” options. The stay altogether was very good. Thank you George!

We came to eat to this restaurant following the advice of a guidebook and we were disappointed. The place is really charming but the food below average, school canteen level. It is a pity because the place has so much potential. The waitress was also very kind and nice. All in all, i would not advise to come here.

  • 5/5 Javier C. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent price/quality, but the room lacks better electric lightning. The service of the whole team is gorgeous and the location is perfect for a visit to Paphos (old town, far from the coast, yet there are many buses). The restaurant within the hotel offer very nice and tasty food in a very ethnic atmosphere, great place indeed, as prices are acceptable.

Lovely small hotel located in the pedestrian area of the town. The building is several hundred years old and has a charming garden at the back. George (the owner) comes from a family of hotelkeepers and is a polite and kind person. We had a dinner at the restaurant which was remarkable and one could try some of the most prominent local specialties.

We went here for our evening meal - so can't comment on the hotel which is run by the same people. The food was excellent and generous portions. My lamb kleftico was perfect. Nice local 🍷 wine. All served in a beautiful garden courtyard away from the busy streets outside. And very reasonable prices.

A lovely hotel in a great location just in the middle of old Paphos. Quite expensive but a good time and George, the owner really prides himself on this hotel and his taverna.
