I absolutely love this place! They have a big fenced area divided into two sections. One side for small breeds. One side for large breeds. There is also an area where you can take the dogs to be in the water. All of the dogs and dog owners we encountered were very friendly. I will definitely be bringing my dog here from now on! I recommend this place to anyone who has a dog.

Best park in the area! Two of the fences areas are 50 yards each. The third is much bigger with several paths to the pond. The pond is extremely muddy and the water very silty so cleaning off requires bringing your own towel.

My chocolate lab dog a year ago was able to swim in the dog lake now they fenced it off with big breed small breed sections and no access to swim in the lake. Worthless for big dogs whole love to swim thats torture for them to be so close to the lake and not be allowed to swim Just run threw a fenced in grass section if i want this it take her out west to the dog park. If you want your dog to swim dont come here.

The off-leash dog area is broken up into two sections. One is grass and mowed where your dog can run and play. The other is a natural environment where your dog can run through tall grass and swim in a couple of large lakes. Both areas are fully fenced and nice. My huskie loved the natural environment enclosure, but I could see smaller dogs not enjoying that section as much. There are warnings at the entrance of the natural environment enclosure about potential harmful algea in the lakes, but the water seemed free of algea when we were there (mid August) and we felt confident letting our dogs play.

Is always a friendly place to take my pup. Love that it now has a water station ! Only suggestion would to build it out around cement slab(rocks) so when we rinse pups off its not a mud bath. 😉

Literally drove 20 min here due to the reviews to find the place small. 1 tree for shade in the large breed area with one small bench. And the flies AWFUL. Biting flies all over me and my dog. No watering stations at all. The only plus was it was clean. Not impressed at all. Hefflinger is 100% better.

Walnut Creek Leash-Free Dog Park is Awesome!! It was such a great experience for the whole family, including our dog "Rosie." It's the perfect size too. Friendly people, friendly dogs, and highly recommended.

Second time taking our dogs here, great people & pups! This park is huge, one of the largest dog parks I've seen. Do not let your dogs in/near the lake this time of year though due to the deadly blue-green algae (the park posts informative signs about this too.) Beautiful area and will definitely be coming back!

Big open area - one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs. My dog gives 5 stars and is always worn out after 20 minutes of sprinting around.

Great native open but fenced area. Some creek like and open water areas that aren't too deep and not open to fishing so your dogs can trample without fear of hooks. Keep in mind it's shallow, so muddy. Some taller and shorter grassy areas. Trails too for the humans to follow along. Shaded and sunny areas. It was a great time.

I really enjoy the Walnut Creek dog park! It's seperated into 3 areas- large breed, small breed, and a native area which is tall grass and path much like the equestrian trails. We have a large breed dog and there is soo much room for her to get her running in.

This is great area to bring your dog and just let them run off some of their energy! People are friendly and usually they are plenty of other dogs for your dog to socialize with as well! The water also gives your dog a chance to go swimming if they like too!

We took our rescue dog here for the first time. It was clean, it was divided into large dog, and a small dog area. There was fresh water available and a restroom in walking distance. I saw people cleaning up after their pups. There were alot of large dogs, only a few small. We will definitely be back.

Large great dog park. Wasn't too busy in the early afternoon but got busy around 4:00 p.m. or so. Nicest one I've been to so far in Omaha. Very friendly people and nice dogs

Great park bad experience. My puppy was fine with the other dogs. Happy as can be till a man with a doodle names Oakley showed up and harassed my dog so badly that we had to leave. Oakley jumped on my dog and wouldn’t leave him alone. And the man didn’t do anything! Please watch your dogs when you bring them here. Some owners just aren’t responsible.

We love this dog park but our water loving lab mix ran into a section of barbed wire in the west part of the creek in the nature area today so definitely be careful. Thankfully our pup is ok but it is a hazard as most of the wire is hidden in the tall grass.

Best dog park I've been to! Dogs can run full speed, they have water facilities, people are friendly and everyone has friendly dogs.

Great park for your dog to run off leash, the fence stops short for one of the parks

  • 4/5 Michael C. 3 years ago on Google
I thought it was very clean people pick up affer there dogs and themselves it has 2 seperate size areas 1 for large breeds and 1 for small breeds

  • 5/5 Kyle N. 4 years ago on Google
A great local dog park with water and swim access for all sizes of dogs. I much prefer the new layout with the 'natural' area being fenced independently. That way I can keep my pup out of the lake if I don't feel like cleaning him AND my car afterwords. My pups always leave tired and happy.

Nice dog park, but our dog was running in the small dog area and got hurt. There is a drain with a large grate over it but its covered by tall grass and isn't noticeable to a pup coming at it from the side. Luckily she tumbled over it and walked it off but a dog could get seriously hurt. Please find a solution to this before someone's fur baby is injured!

This was the first time I was at the park. I have 2 small dogs. I mean small under 7 pounds. As I walked in there is a huge drain that goes under the street. The drain is blocked by a cover that is so huge my two dogs could have gone in that drain and I would have no access to them. Luckly they were not interested in it this time. I would really appreciate it if some could make a tighter grate so the small dogs could not get through if they chose to. Also, it would be nice to have a couple more benches maybe in the shade. With todays social distancing the two benches were full so nowhere to sit while my dogs ran. I am not sure where else I could post this where someone will see it. Thank you

If your dog loves to run in open places this the place to go

My camper was there a week I was gone most of day with my parents. Mom has dementia. One day I'm gone someone steals the refrigeration unit and cover off the top of my camper. It rained a few nights later I didn't no they stole it because I just run a fan at night. And water destroyed the ceiling of camper so bad it was totaled by insurance company.

I love the native area and they are actively improving the big dog area to have more trees. My dog loves it and we’ve been going at least a couple times a week if not every day.

Great place. I like how there is 3 areas, and dog water fountains. I didnt see a requirement for a Nebraska game and parks sticker either.

  • 5/5 RoachDoggJR 3 years ago on Google
It's very open with a few smaller bodies of water for your dog to splash around in. If you don't want your dog wading around in water, there's a nice fenced off area as well! I'd recommend taking your dog here if you're one who likes the outdoors and letting your dog romp around freely with others

Great place to take your dogs. Separate areas for big and small dogs. Water fountains and rinse off area.

  • 4/5 John S. 3 years ago on Google
Great fenced-in play area. It's very large. Sometimes the weeds are a little unkept, so be aware of burrs on occasion. One side of the fenced area is open to the water, so if your dog isn't a swimmer, or if your dog is an avid swimmer, be mindful of that!

LARGE space for dogs!! Only downfall, no water there. Bring your own. The space was great for running with the dog and playing fetch!!

This is a great place to take your pups! I’ve taken mine here. Though, it is big with a lot of foliage, so you might want to keep an eye on your dogs. However, the fence is in great condition, and even my 9 pound rat can’t get through the darn thing. He loves bouncing around in the tall grass and going on the back trails there. Although my dog hates the water, I have seen other dogs swim in the pond there. Across from the pond is a camping ground that is NOT fenced in, so make sure your dog doesn’t go all the way across and escape, lol. And beware of ticks here, since there is a lot of foliage. If you’re interested in taking your dog someone great, this is it. Lots of things to smell, people have always picked up after their dogs, and there are benches where you can watch your dogs play while you chat with other people there.
