Travis the owner was a fantastic host! We did the Ocean Heal boat trip with my family, we cleaned plastic bottles on a remote beach as a break from amazing snorkeling. Food was amazing! We ended up staying an extra night to explore the areas great waterfalls and cool beaches that have a way less tourist vibe. Will bring my family back again for sure! A hidden gem!

The buttery garlic chicken was super fresh and tasty. My friends loved all the dishes they ordered. The staff was super friendly, helpful and we are extremely satisfied.

We've stayed at la Perla Negra for two night. Travis and his family took us on board of their very special hotel, designed as a pirate cave. The food was super delicious and for a very fair price. They are super friendly and helpful. On the first day we did a little kayak trip along the beach and up a beautiful river. On the second day Travis took us on board of his jack sparrow boat and showed us the different islands around. We went snorkling, saw turtels, fished, eat and most importantly cleaned a little beach on one of the islands - Ocean Heal as Travis calls it! It's been a blast, thank you for having us. Very nice place. Pools are fresh and clean. The food is tasty, and the beers are cold. The service is good. If you arrive by water the dock is very well made. The decor is amazing and very fun.

This is the perfect off the beaten path beach destination! A really unique hotel with fun and interesting activities to do. Our family had the best experience thanks to the amazing Travis and the super friendly staff of Perla Negra. We will come back for sure!

This Hotel is a hidden gem in more ways than 1!! Travis is awesome and knows how to accommodate his guests in whatever adventure you are looking to do. The food, let's just say, I'm a chef and we never went anywhere else to eat! Most Delicious seafood lasagna, my 8 yr son had it 2 nights in a row. The grounds truly make you feel like you are in a "Pirates of Caribbean" movie. We loved it here so much that we are already coming back 2 months later. See you soon Captain Jack Travis!!

Awesome place with a great view, and even better food!

We stayed with are 3 young kids. They loved the rooms and exploring the grounds. The hosy was amazing definitely will be back.

We stoped to have lunch. The owner showed us all around. It was a great and very interesting place. Great food and a wonderful margarita!

I absolutely loved this hotel! The owners are incredibly friendly and we ended up chatting with them for quite a while. Food is great and prices are even better. We sat in the grass and watched the monkeys in the trees for quite a while. Right on the ocean with beachfront space and access. The owner designed the whole "ship" completely himself and he said a pool should be coming in the next year or so. Less than a 5 minute drive from the Ferry. I highly recommend staying here!

One of my favourite restaurants in Costa Rica! Best designed too! They treat you like family here, portions are huge and the fish was delicious. When we go back to visit this will be one of our first stops!

It's a fun place with good backyard for kids sells beers and cocktails nothing too fancy but very good due to the heat of the place Easy to get to as well, there's a pool table and great toys for kids. Not too pricey and neither cheap but affordable.
