One of the famous devi temples in kerala. Popular for its fireworks. On 10 April 2016 an unfortunate accident happened during the fireworks results in the death of 110 civilians . I still remember that night . I was there . However people recovered from that incident.

Good temple. So much trees around this temple is an attraction. There is a nearby wedding hall non AC and a big ground for parking and other uses during temple festival. It's a shiva temple.

Puttingal Temple is a Hindu temple in the coastal town of Paravur, India. The temple was founded after the presence of the goddess was experienced on an ant hill with Puttu being the Malayalam word for ant Hill. The main festival is celebrated on the day of Bharani star in Meenam.

This is the exact place were the presence of Puttingal Devi herself was experience on an Ant Hill. The place where Puttingal temple is located was an idyllic forest centuries ago. Once Puttingal Devi and sisters of the goddess arrived here at a journey. The thirsty goddess was greeted with coconut water to drink from the untouchable caste. Due to this reason goddess sisters left her here. After that the abandoned god stayed in an Ant Hill (Puttu) here. After long time a woman's sickle wore grass in this Ant hill and it start bleeding and later known the presence of Devi here.
