The
nurses
at
the
in-patient
department
displayed
a
lack
of
experience
when
my
grandmother
was
hospitalised
here.
Of
course,
a
few
of
them
were
reassuring,
but
there
were
also
many
that
didnβt
seem
friendly
and
professional.
Although
she
already
had
a
stroke
on
her
throat,
unable
to
make
out
any
comprehensible
words,
she
was
in
such
excruciating
pain
that
she
cried
out
for
my
aunt
in
clear
words
when
the
nurses
turned
her
in
bed
and
cleaned
her.
Her
hands
were
bruised
badly
because
they
couldnβt
find
the
right
place
to
draw
her
blood.
When
she
had
stroke
again
and
we
saw
that
she
seemed
to
have
seizures
while
in
ward,
we
pressed
the
button
to
called
for
the
nurses
but
they
were
so
slow
to
respond
that
we
were
helpless
at
what
to
do
and
ended
up
having
to
rush
out
ourselves
to
call
them.
They
made
BP
checks
and
told
us
that
her
tests
came
back
normal
and
that
was
it.
But
her
condition
obviously
didnβt
look
promising.
We
didnβt
know
she
was
having
a
stroke.
Then
the
second
time
she
had
a
stroke,
we
called
the
nurses
again
but
this
time
she
was
already
unconscious
and
unable
to
wake
up.
Yet
the
nurse
still
didnβt
call
the
doctor
because
she
said
the
βchecks
were
normalβ
and
that
she
βhad
to
explain
to
doctor
but
she
canβt
because
everything
was
βNORMALββ.
It
was
only
when
she
checked
her
pupils
because
gran
couldnβt
wake
up
that
she
knew
that
something
was
wrong.
It
would
be
great
if
the
nurses
were
more
trained
for
situations
like
this
and
not
just
follow
βSOPβ.
My
gran
was
also
starting
to
produce
white
foam
at
the
mouth.
If
only
Muar
had
another
private
hospital
to
choose
from,
maybe
then
they
will
start
to
be
more
professional
and
provide
more
training
to
compete
with
their
competitors.
What
infuriates
me
the
most
is
that
the
nurses
lack
compassion,
if
my
granβs
time
is
up,
at
least
we
know
that
she
had
been
well
taken
care
of,
suffered
less
pain,
and
handled
with
dignity.
Maybe
they
were
already
desensitised,
but
at
least
be
more
empathetic
toward
the
patient
and
their
family
and
display
more
professionalism.
If
only
Muar
had
another
private
hospitalβ¦
