My absolute favorite place to go for photography, sunrises, and sunsets. Plenty of shoreline to explore, and I promise you there's fish in there bigger than half my body and I'm 5'7". Park is pretty well kept but can get trashy from the teens sometimes. Police and game wardens patrol though enough to usually keep the trouble makers out of the park. Lots of picnic areas and cute ducks. Please try to pick up and loose lures, lines, fish hooks or anything that could harm the wildlife. I've seen too many ducks over the years become injured over these things. And PLEASE PLEASE be nice to the Geese. They may be kind of d**k heads but they're not so bad. The three solid white ones are named Bonita, Duck Liddell, and Screech.

The Lake... ahhh! The soccer fields. The space (soccer off-season). The hiking. The conscientious housekeeping. The maintenance (the lake sand could be combed for removal of a few glass shards). It's all so enjoyable! 😊😀

Weatherford Parks Department really does a great job maintaining our parks! I appreciate their diligence!! The picnic areas are always clean, and trash is regularly removed.

We go exploring here quite a bit, love the tranquil lake & the wooded areas are very quiet & peaceful! My grandkids love the play area & watching the ducks is a blast (I think they’ve named every duck now) we will definitely be going back!

Well kept secret. Beautiful, peaceful place.

Nice place to go for a walk. Has the mineral wells state park trail right at the entrance. Swings for kids, lake to swim, soccer and baseball field in the far back. Has nice area to park the car and enjoy the shade and nature.

Secluded. Easy access for boats, kayaks, canoes. Lake was healthy with minnows and tadpoles so definitely great potential with fishing. Plenty trees for summer shade

Visited Cartwright park today and was impressed with the amount and quality of maintenance that goes into this huge property. Great work fellas!

Nice beautiful park, lots of ducks and playgrounds. You can have a nice picnic and go fishing.

So nice.... great place to swim fish put a boat in or just kayak... BBQ pits, picnic tables,and the shade.. gorgeous (free) park yes it is completely free

Excellent place to bring your kids, great place to walk, bike, picnic, or anything for open spaces. It also has a lot of space and freeroam areas. Also a good place to fish especially with a boat as you have a higher chance! ( the picture is me and my brother hanging on one of the many tree branches surrounding the lake that are really fun to climb)
