So the good news is it’s clean and the staff are pleasant. There is plenty of parking and a paid for Gridserve electric charger (if it works) The bad news is that it’s old and decrepit and it has clearly had zero investment in some time. The bedside table was water damaged and de-laminating badly. See photos. There is no facilities other than what you get in the room (so no restaurant or bar or laundry) The WiFi is free but they want a lot of personal information to allow you to use it. There is a busy services and McDonalds adjoining which means there is transport noise all night. The massive Amazon warehouse down the road compounds this. There was weed smokers on our floor somewhere so the corridors stank and someone had a dog in the hotel which woke me up between 5 and 7 every morning. Definitely NOT worth £79 a night without breakfast. Book ahead and go somewhere else..

This branch is situated at a motorway services station. I had 2 complaints. 1, they need to move the beds when vacuuming and 2, a disabled door opening needs to be fitted at the main door. The glass front door was so heavy I had real problems trying to get in, ( I walk with a stick)So much so that before I was properly through the door, it started to swing closed on me with the handle catching my leg and resulting in a 3" circular bruise on my thigh.

Great location right off the motorway, super convenient for Newcastle airport/a city visit/ or just breaking up a long journey. It’s definitely a budget hotel, so good value. Really warm welcome on reception. Ok yes it probably needs a refresh decor wise but for the price the bed was comfy and the shower was decent. Room was a good size, plenty of storage etc Big bonus is the free parking, otherwise you’d be paying £12 a night for it

Staff were friendly. Would be 2 star rating but the cheap prices reflect the quality. Bedroom was very dated. All electric points are by the desk and none near the bed that we could find. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. The issues for us were in the bathroom. The bathroom door didn’t lock, the sink was hanging off the wall, the ceiling was peeling, the shower curtain rail fell down at one point but we got this back up without assistance needed and the extraction fan was full of dust. Ceiling panels in the hallway were also looking loose. The staff had cleaned and marked items as being sterilised before we entered the room so they appeared to be maintaining COVID cleaning very well. It is what it is and you get what you pay for. We had a comfortable stay here for one night and I didn’t hear any noise from the road at all. With a bit of money invested this could be a great place to stop as it is just off the A1.

Upsides: Price, decent bed with clean cotton sheets, helpful staff Downsides: - Room was cold despite heater - Bath and basin plugs had no chain or other means to lift. Had to use spoon handle to lift plug out of bath - 3 types of sweetener and sugar but no decaf or herbal tea or coffee - Double glazing not sufficient to block road noise This is second time staying here but unlikely to use again.

Stayed here as a stop over on a journey. Although we had booked and paid in advance they still wanted all my personal details again and had to take a payment and then refund my card to confirm I am who I say I am. (Very strange. Never had this before when staying with this company) Whilst we where waiting in the foyer all you could smell was weed. When we got to the room at 9.00 at night it wasn't ready and the second bed was not made up and no pillows or duvet in the room for it. The bathroom had cracked tiles on the floor the heated towel rail has had the wires cut and taped up and the extraction fan could not be turned off and so ran all night and wasn't quiet. When we left in the morning there wasn't a member of staff to be found anywhere (we left at 7.20) and so could not make them aware. Cheapish room but not what I would of expected and not what I have experienced with this company in the past.

Staff spotless. Very clean and tidy. Coffee tea available. Just the noise of people on the corredors during the night a bit a disappointment. Location really good 😊

Great location, friendly staff, lots of parking, spacious room, smart TV, free WiFi is a bit slow, but usable, next door to a whsmith and macdonalds. Room was a little run down. Really great value. Not too far from a good range of shops and running routes.

Arrived a day later then my booking and my room was cancelled even though it was paid for. Terrible Policy by Wyndham. Spoke to the GM Iwona who was extremely helpful in correcting the problem. She explained how it all works and was extremely apologetic. 5* staff!

This is a bit of a truck stop - very basic and a bit grubby. Not somewhere you want to spend long but ok for a sleep over as you travel.

Very convenient hotel next to the motorway and a convenient base to explore Durham. There's a roadchef rest stop and plenty of parking next to the hotel and a fuel station with convenience store nearby. The staff was efficient and our check in was fast. Our room was clean and quiet. Internet is ok for checking email and updating social media but inadequate for video streaming. The street lighting and directional signage to the hotel needs to be improved as we missed the turn at night and had to make a big detour to make it back to the hotel. We also experienced a fire alarm which lasted 10-15 minutes because another guest was smoking. (Initially we thought it was the steam from our bathroom that triggered the fire alarm and we panicked.)

It's reasonable and fine - nothing more or less. Charges extra for dogs. No restaurant, but it it is part of the service area off the A1 near Durham.

The hotel location was ideal for me; however the hotel itself is pretty much rubbish. Rooms are dated with the bathrooms being very outdated to the extent the taps and showers are just dripping water. I didn’t get the best wash from the shower and taps either too cold or too hot. The corridors smelled of smoke and just unpleasant. Staff seemed friendly and helpful but that’s the only positive thing I can say. Overall it was okay for the 1 night, but that’s it. Also it’s very expensive for what you get.

Awful hotel, but you get what you pay for. I only stopped here to break up our very long journey. it was convenient as it accepted dogs, and it was not silly expensive. But I wished I had paid the extra, very uncomfortable bed the mattress was lumpy you could feel the springs and the pillows were like envelopes. The floor needed a good hoover.. I would never stay again

Despite being a cheap hotel room that had seen better days, it did what it needed. Clean and a good nights sleep. Only two stars as it does need a lick of paint.

WiFi is listed as free, which it is, but it is very, very poor. The signal in our room was very weak, such that the majority of the time our devices were just disconnected. I read somewhere that rooms had been recently refurbished: this is definitely not the case for our room on the ground floor, which was a model 1980s hotel room, complete with no fan fitted in the bathroom (no window). The room size was however very good. The taps and shower fittings are outdated and not good. Refurbishment the rooms definitely need. The staff are very helpful and friendly: they were just great

Amazing staff, all went out of their way to help me while me and my 2 kids stayed, they were great with my children, let me use their washing machine when my daughter was sick on her clothes. Directed me in places to go for us to eat or get things I didn't have with me. One even carried my pushchair up the stairs for me and put me in a larger room than was booked for me. Would definitely recommend and will for sure be back!

Friendly staff. Quiet at night. Room wasn't cleaned very well after the last guest unfortunately as there was an open tube of pringles behind the TV and crumbs all over the floor

Clean and tidy, we took the dog so it was a basic room but perfectly useable, just a little dissapointed with the way booking.com advertise it well over the top yet other sites are perfectly clear. Come on Booking.com get your facts right, there is no restaraunt or other things you claim, you should maybe send someone out to have a look and not guess

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY If only i had researched first, my mistake NEVER again, the whole experience was utterly awful I was looking for a minus rating this hotel. It is not up to standard £73.00 for a night i would have been better off in a doorway. The room stunk like a dog had used the carpet for a toilet, (by leaving the window open you didn't get rid of the smell) the bed had no support and was broken so when you both laid down you rolled to the middle ( I will send you the bill for the chiropractor) The heater dials had melted as the heater had clearly got to hot, someone else's hair in the bath!!, mirror in the bathroom was rusty all over, pipes in the bathroom were rusty and bare wires to the heated towel rail which didn't even work. The laminate on the beside table was broken and lifting off, grout in the bathroom is black toilet roll holders were rusty, we have all photos and will be seeing where we can take this, i am furious that they can take this type of money for such a poor service, you should be very ashamed. i am so disgusted with this hotel i think i will report it to the relevant institutes.

Run down place but can accept that for the price and acceptable cleanliness but heating has been turned off and they wouldn't turn on because it's not "cold". 7 degree centigrade may not be cold for them and not for elderly guests not used to cold weather. I called and asked for ground floor rooms but ended up paying for an additional room.
