I have been going to this hospital for over 30 years now. One of the best Cape Town has to offer. Very clean and organised, staff are friendly and helpful. Slept over many nights and weeks due to various operations. Parking is always an issue, they definitely need to do something about. Popped in today to get my last vaccine shot.

We have had many great experiences with Panorama, however our ER experience 3 weeks ago was not good at all. We spent 9 hours in the ER and were informed of admission before doing a multitude of tests, thereafter the doctor changed their mind and we are now receiving a large out of hospitalization bill. All of our experiences with Panorama ER have been poor.

I was in ward D3 for a day procedure. Let me start my journey by saying thank you to the friendly lady that took me to the ward. Thanks to Christine and Selevu for your excellent service and professionalism going to theater and back, for caring over me and making me so comfortable. The theater staff, doctor Cooper and assistants. Never in all my years have I received such excellent service.

Such a wonderful experience giving birth at this hospital. The nurses in the maternity ward were kind, helpful and attentive. I was well informed about what was to happen and my questions were always answered. Overall, clean and accommodating environment. Thank you!

Words cannot describe how slow this hospital ER services are. So disappointed by the poor service. 5 hours not seen by a doctor paying medical rates for worst service ever experienced. Should have gone than a public hospital at this rate.

We brought our 1 year old to the ER on Sunday evening after he was presented with symptoms of uncontrollable crying, coughing and mild fever. We arrived to a rather full waiting room of children and adults, so I knew we would have to wait. We finished our paperwork and general assessment by 9:00pm. By 10pm more patients have come in but the waiting room was still half full. We asked the receptionist if it was possible to leave, and head to another hospital, but was told that it was not allowed (presumably because we had already done the paperwork as no explanation was given). At 10:30pm there were 3 patients in the waiting room, and by 11:00pm the same 3 patients were still there. At this point, I am beyond irritable. We told the receptionist that we were just leaving, to which she replied that we can now leave but a nurse would on her way to sign us off. What changed between now and a hour ago?!? I decided that we have been here for 2 hours already what is another couple more minutes. At 11:15pm we asked the receptionist is anyone actually coming, and how much longer do we have to wait. After she came back from the security area we were told that they were very busy and doesn't really know when someone would be available. It was at this point that I excused myself and left the hospital. To say the service we received was pathetic would be an understatement, but to make a sick child wait 2 hours without any follow-up is absolutely atrocious. Never mind the 'patient's rights and responsibilities' that is posted on the reception counter, what happened to human decency?? Needless to say I will not be willingly attending the ER in the near future, if ever. Regards

For a first time mom, and someone who previously had anxiety when it came to hospitals - this has by far been the best experience ever! I was anxious about my csection but everyone made me feel calm and well looked after even when things weren't as they should be. The medical team, staff and facility is top tier - even the kitchen staff go above and beyond. I almost didn't want to leave. Thank you so much for doing the best for me and my family. Keep up the the excellent service!

I went to the ER this past Saturday night. I didn't wait too long in reception, but when we were taken into the ward, beds weren't made up since the previous patient had left. Anyways, once I received the bed, I was in a ward with two other patients. We were subjected to loud talking and laughing in the hallways from the nurses on duty. I felt like I was at a taxi rank. Such unprofessional behavior, no etiquette whatsoever. I think some of them need training on how to behave in a place of work and service. I feel that Panorama Hospital has really gone down.

Medical Panorama has excellent doctors who work from the Hospital. But unfortunately, the Hospital does not operate at the same standard. During my procedure this week, every hospital process I was submitted to operated inefficiently and is designed for the Hospital's benefit and not for the patient's benefit. From the admission to getting the meal after the procedure. Each department operates in a silo, and there is no coordination between the different departments, and the patient is the one who takes the brunt of this lack of coordination. Another patient in the pathology department's words, " I feel like screaming because I have waited so long for a porter to collect me." reflects how several patients I talk to felt about their Hospital experience.

This is my 3rd time at Panorama for an operation. Mediclinic. Staff generally are friendly. At 22h30 there were loud conversations going on in the hall. The patient across me still had visitors. All lights were still on. As soon as I walked into ward B I get this bad smell from the carpets and my sinuses block. Patient don't have to ask staff for silence after22h00

Visited the Radiology dept today for an "urgent" Ultrasound. We were told that they only had one person and were fully booked for 2 days. They tried to be helpful, but it didn't quite come across as sincere at all. They said they called and all the Mediclinics were fully booked - ok then. We waited 15/20 min and then left. We phoned N1 City and got 100 percent better service even over the phone. Wouldn't waste my time going here.

In September, we had to unfortunately go to this hospital on 3 separate occations. All 3 times, we experienced PATHETIC, state hospital like service. The staff are apparently not Panorama's staff as they are part of and placed by an agency the hospital makes use of. These poor individuals, who are there to assist are SUPER negative and "tired" that they do not hesitate to complain within the first 2 minutes and that, while helping individuals in pain or loss. Panorama has gone down the drain in the past 2 years, from a 5 star flagship Private Hospital, to a 1 star, State like hospital. Do yourself a favour, rather go to Durbanville's Mediclinic, they are geared up and WILLING to assist.

Professional, friendly and well trained personnel. Also the food is definitely not your usual hospital food, it's really nice. They really make you feel comfortable.

What a terrible experience! Longest wait in an ER room ever…. We came the night before and was told to return the next morning for a scan and then get the results and a way forward from the ER doctor. We have waited over 3 hours for a treatment plan after getting the scans done. And the staff get rude when you ask what is happening. More staff and doctors are needed in the ER. People go for emergencies not to sit around and wait but to be assisted in an emergency….. so disappointed

Dr on duty at the ER today made me feel like a criminal coming to the ER. Clearly my emergency was not the same as his. He said I could have gone to my GP. I was feeling like death. Yes I tested positive for Covid. But to speak to a patient who actually has medical aid and pays their way. This is the kind of service they give people. No passion anymore.. Never liked Panorama but forced to come here because of MA.He helped me because he was forced to and not because he actually cared. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

This review has been edited by me. I initially gave two stars and I have, at the risk of losing credibility, changed my score to five stars. I have enough evidence and information after a week as a patient to give an informed review. Covid aside, the reaction to my initial misgivings about the ability of Panorama Mediclinic to render a safe and effective service was mind blowing. Staff initially seemed confused and communication jumbled. I had no idea how hard it is to keep up a standard let alone a high standard under such pressure as not only Panorama but the health care industry has to endure. In response to my comments, management kicked up a gear and day shift merged almost seamlessly into night shift. I needed a reality check, a hospital cares about the health of it's customer whilst a five star hotel only has to care about comfort according to budget. The hospital has no room for mistakes. I experienced first hand how difficult it is to keep patients with individual needs calm and reassured. After 24hrs I couldn't see the difference it is keeping patients happy vs hotel guests, after five days it was glaringly obvious. From management to entry level positions, everyone did their job with whatever resources were available. Some situations took priority over others which could be misunderstood. One patient was in severe pain while another demanded whiskey with his supper (true story). Staff stayed calm where I would have lost it! Panorama, you deserve five stars, no doubt about it.

Just concerned that the doctor on morning/afternoon duty bypassed me.... sitting in the consultation room waiting on doctor for over 5 hours. 4. Jan.2022. She proceeded to to go see patients that came after me. I felt she was choosing the easier option and waiting to handover her shift. The staff and nurses on the other hand are very helpful and professional.

I would like to THANK the following people for their amazing care and patience given to me while in hospital. If I forgot anyone I do apologize. Dr. Coetzee Dr. C van wyk Sr. Zambusa? In emergency Sr. Nicole Sr. Brink Dr. Theron Guy after surgery in recovery. Name sounds like Moses but it's something else. What a comforting and sincere person. ADMIN guy that checked me out of hospital. (He physically walked me up to the Dr office letting me hold onto his arm because I was unable to sit or barely walk) he went way past his call of duty and was so sweet and helpful. The only complaints I have was that I had to wait for something to eat for a few hours after surgery. Myself and another lady had to ask numerous times when we will get our food. My surgery was at 5pm and was only 30 minutes but I only had food at 22:08. A cold toasted cheese and tomato sandwich. The second thing: the Dr office called me on my personal phone 3 times while I was waiting in emergency because the people on duty didn't work fast enough and the poor reception lady couldn't get them to take me upstairs. I even heard one staff member saying that she didn't even know there is someone (me) in that bed. (Bed5) Other than that the service provided by the doctors and nursing staff as mentioned above was amazing. Thank you so much for helping me. You are all amazing and your bedside manners are exceptional.

The 3 stars are for Llewellyn at admissions and Dr Tracy Johnson. I was brought in by an ambulance, and Llewellyn made admission a seamless process for my partner. There were only 2 doctors on duty, and Doctor Johnson made sure she still took her time with me and ensured that I received proper car and relevant feedback. Outside of the previously stated employees, I would rate the hospital low. They are understaffed, had a grumpy nurse assisting, and the pharmacy closed very early, which meant we had to drive around to get meds after I was discharged.

I was at the ER last week Saturday and sat there for 8hrs before I was attended. Arrived at 4:00 pm and left at 00:00am the next day and I'm still not feeling any better. Ear infection hasn't cleared up, the ER is really poorly staffed for a private hospital the level of service really very concerning. Staff were friendly but they just don't seem to have enough doctors or there is just a poor level of service in terms of their working system.. I'm really very disappointed and just expected a bit more from a private hospital.

Horrible lack of service and no communication from staff! Got there at 6am, were shown to my husband's room and were told "we'll be with you shortly." Someone only arrived again for the first time since being in the room at 08:30. Waited for almost 3 hours not knowing what we can and can't do or when someone is going to inform us of next steps. My husband was scheduled to go to the teater at 12pm but by 2pm we were still waiting with no updates given in between. After standing in the halls waiting for someone to pass by, a sister came in and informed us that my husband's surgery was delayed because they were under the impression that he was waiting to be released! During the night he called a few times for assistance but no one came. It took nearly an hour before he was assisted. Got his food options wrong even though it was clearly marked. I was also shocked with the lack of knowledge regarding the nurses. They couldn't answer the most basic of questions like what does a normal blood pressure look like or how to improve blood pressure. Medication was dispensed but never brought to my husband. We only knew we were missing medication once the pharmacy pointed it out on our way out. The man across from my husband was out of his surgery for an hour before finally receiving his first water and food, despite asking 3 different nurses. Overall poor quality of service and communication. Very disappointed.

I have been attending this hospital since I got married 31 years ago. In my opinion this is the best hospital there is. I have had quite a few operations at this hospital and on all of those occasions I’ve received amazing care from the staff. πŸ‘Œ

Ill give a 1 star rating to the management of the hospital and not the staff. I gave birth there in 2019 and had the best experience. My father recently landed up in hospital(he has been a patient at panorama for many years) and when visiting him I was disgusted in the state of the hospital. The carpets are dirty and the tables in the waiting room were filthy. The staff are exhausted from the long hours, honest mistakes being made, but could be deadly.

The medical staff were very kind. The doctors were competent. The rooms are pleasant. Views are great if you get the right ward. Make sure you ask every question you can think of ahead of time. I forgot to ask about recovery time, and no one volunteered the information. So I had an unpleasant surprise awaiting me post-op!

Panorama Hospital Heart unit is so well organized, i am very impressed. The service here is unbeatable. They are all super efficient and hard working.....great team spirit here. Its a Monday and instead of Monday chaos everything here just works... Flows. What a privilege to be in a work environment like this where everyone is happy to be here.

Private medical hospital in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town. Flagship facility for the Medi Clinic Group. Friendly and helpful service from the staff. Coffee shop in the foyer. It covers all medical specialist care and services. Set within a medical campus that includes a day hospital and several doctors' surgeries and consulting rooms.

Having just moved to the area of Plattekloof I thought it lodgical to visit this facilty as the nearest point of reference. However, be warned people of colour! I was racially profiled by the A&E nursing staff at this hospital. It was so blatently obvious in all of my interactions and observations of interactions with other fairer skinned patients. And worse by people of colour. It's such a pity because the reception experience could be rated as 5 star. The facilty's itself and the Doctors are the best. But the nursing treatment is shocking. Being a clinician myself... I know all too well the various regulations and scope of practices these 'professionals' should adhere to. They did not even meet the minimum standards as far as that goes in addition to the profiling. I actually walked out the unit bleeding from the site of removal from the IV as the attending nurse did not remove it properly or stop the bleeding before discharge. They had to fix this in the passage of the ER.

What an experience! I recently was admitted to MediClinic Panarama’s ward F and it completely changed my view on the entire hospital. After having a violently traumatic experience at a holiday destination, I was badly injured and required admission at Mediclinic Panarama. Everyone, from the Emergency Centre on call doctor (Dr TF Agunloye), nursing staff and the porter who took me to the ward were so welcoming and kind. On arrival to Ward F, professional nurse Olifant/Emmanuella/Lindokuhle and others, the entire ward F team including the unit manager and catering staff were so kind, patient, professional and loving to their patients that it completely negated the trauma I had experienced when I was injured. I was quite traumatized and broke my arm when criminals tried to break into the Airbnb my family and I were staying in. The entire ward F staff made me feel so welcome and cared for. They actually cared for me and were professional and met every need that was required from them and more! Truly this is what you need from health care professionals. You go to hospital bruised, battered, sick and in great need of care and the entire ward F team met this need and surpassed it. They gave me such comfort that I had even forgotten that I was going into surgery. Post surgery they were on it with the pain medication, they were on it with the necessary care needed. I had a brilliant surgeon, who performed the surgery successfully and I’m well on my way to recovery. Boy, am I grateful for the entire team at Ward F. They really worked well together on all the days and nights I was there. I’m grateful and thankful for the experience I had.

Panorama is one of the best hospitals in the western cape with most of the best services a hospital can provide. Car parking even in the quiets time of the month is a big problem and although plans for parking buildings are already planned for a couple of years action is really needed to alleviates the parking shortages.

Overall the nursing staff are very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the cafe does not follow suite. In addition if you get the wrong timing between shifts. Staff are uninterested I helping. A patient was waiting over 30 minutes for a porter before being assisted. They were just left in the corridor. It cab also be quite complicated to get around the hospital for first timers. The security yea were however very helpful when in need of a wheelchair and assisted greatly. Overall a mixed bag I guess it depends on the ward and who you get helpong on the day.

Very disappointed from Start to End process. ER to infectious disease ward. 2 doctors ,and a male sister insinuated I should not be there, because there is nothing they can do about mumps. One day shift doctor complained all the way into my room for being given the mumps patient. The male sister, was rude, dishonest and held back on treatment and assistance to make me more comfortable. He too, was heard outside my room playing videos on his phone telling a coworker about the 'chicks' in it.. The ONLY good thing I experienced during my 3 night stay was the night nurse staff. They just have the basic human compassion you think any human being has? The doctor who was agitated about having the 'mumps case' also said I can go when i want to go, as it is not 'severe'. Keeping in mind, I came into ER because I couldn't breath, and the pain had me in shock state. When I was moved to the ward, room D37 I hadn't eaten or drank water for 48 hours. I only managed to sip water before I left. There are women's sanitary negligence I could also bring up, but it's too personal to post publicly. My last issue I STILL have, is the doctor who prescribed me suppositories laughed, because it's an unusual patient request, not forgetting now he knows I cannot swallow anything. He does prescribe me 1 type, and only 3 OF!! This is a state hospital, dressed fancy. You have forever lost mine and my families commitment to your practice. This is what the doctors actually COULD and did do for me,after their bitter comments : IV fluids IV pain IV anti-inflammatory IV antibiotics ACC200 Liquid food Blood pressure Blood tests So is there REALLY nothing you can do for a paying patient??? There is always a way to help someone in pain. Always. Without those values, you are just a building.

I went in to be monitored due to preeclampsia during my pregnancy on Thursday 25 May 2023, the next day I had a C section done, from the ward staff right up to the surgeons and assistants I am completely satisfied, I was in a lot of pain for the coming 3 days but every single staff member made me feel welcomed, loved and cared for. I would like to give a special thank you to all the maternity ward staff that was on duty from 25 May - 29 May 2023. Sister Deborah, Sister ChantΓ©, Sister Vivian, Sister Deidre and the list goes on.. and all the rest that was with me throughout my stay! You guys are seriously some of the best people I have ever come across! Let’s not even forget about the catering staff, always entering with utmost respect and decency when serving meals and collecting requests! Mediclinic panorama is the best hospital I have ever been to. Once again, thank you Mediclinic Panorama

I had the pleasure of having my first child in this hospital last year July. Over my hospital stay I received great care and as a nice bonus they had served me and my fiance a little breakfast platter in celebration of having our little one. I am looking forward to spending my next stay with Panorama when I have my next little bundle of joy.

I recently had surgery done at panorama hospital on 5 July 2023. My experience at panorama hospital was excellent. It was my first time at this hospital as I recently relocated from Durban to Cape Town last year. I received wonderful care from the nursing staff on surgical ward D3. The food was first class . The reception staff were excellent. The cleaning staff were good. The hospital is very clean and neat. The pre admissions sister was super nice. I loved the coffee shop and restaurant. Theater and recovery sisters were caring and excellent. My surgeons and anesthetist were simply the best. Received excellent physio after my surgery. Well done to panorama hospital and everyone who took such good care of me. ⭐️

Maternity ward 10 stars!! The care we received during the birth of our little girl was beyond outstanding. The nursing staff, doctors, catering, cleaning, every department was top notch. We cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for us and our little girl. They went way and beyond the call of duty. The Franzsen Family :-)
