Rocky Crest is a wonderful family resort. Wonderful staff and service, beautiful golf course, nice food services. We had two different rooms for our stay. One was a lake view premium bedroom suite which was amazing with its view. It is noisy with the waterfront, people walking by on the walkway in front of the room, the blinds did not fully block the light or privacy and at one point had a child look in at me to the bedroom. It is nicely renovated however still an old resort and requires more repair. The room had a dishwasher, fridge, microwave and dishes which was great for us. Coffee maker and tea as well. Our next room was a two bedroom loft suite and it was heaven as it was facing the forest and much quieter. A beautiful shower and tub, comfortable bed and privacy ! No dishwasher in this one but microwave, dishes, fridge, coffee maker, tea, toaster provided. We enjoyed the golf, tennis and waterfront. Fantastic.

Enjoyed our stay. Great location. Some updating required in room we had a loft. Toilet needs service, light bulbs need replacement. Carpet needs cleaning. Overall very nice. Parking lot very very dusty.

Spent a few days at Rocky Crest Golf Resort in July. Amazing location and beautiful scenery. The inflatable water park was a major hit for the kids (and myself). The other water activities were also very enjoyable. We took a pontoon ride (which was extra) around Lake Joseph which took about an hour. For someone who is not a boat person, this was fun. Food was decent but VERY pricey. The resort was understaffed, and our room was never cleaned. The room itself was old and dingy, which also felt like it wasn't clean. They are in need of major renovations. Lighting was horrible. Shower pressure was the worst I've ever experienced. We did not go in the pool because the water looked pretty cloudy everyday. The lake was much cleaner. All in all, it was a fun vacation. The kids loved it.

Resort needs upgrading. Price is high for quality of amenities. Suggestion: include breakfast buffet to make up for poor quality of rooms. Need fresh paint, cleaning. Although waterfront is great for kids the rest of the facilities leave a lot to be desired. Hard to get information from staff. Although they are super friendly they don’t speak English. Asked front desk where we could find a bank and her answer was on the highway. We asked where on the highway and she said google it. Was quite disappointed when we arrived.

Excellent trip! The golf course was top notch, the clubhouse restaurant has a great menu and executed it very well, and the accommodations were perfect for our group. Special shout out to Maggie in the restaurant for efficiently delivering our food and remembering all the drink orders. If you're traveling mid-May, be mindful of the blackflies. The course staff is also undergoing training, so you'll need a little more patience than in midsummer, which is understandable. The senior staff was excellent. We stayed in the three bedroom villa and didn't realize we wouldn't have any room cleaning, it was fine though. Great experience overall.

Terrible experience at lakeside restaurant. Food was very expensive for 4 burgers over $100 . They say they are a pet friendly resort… don’t want you to leave pets in room unattended but then won’t allow pets on outside patio for lunch? I understand not inside but outside when nobody was sitting in the 7 tables next to us is not acceptable . That’s not pet friendly. Instead they wanted us to tie up dog in the sun a foot away from table in this scorching heat when there was shade under table. Really unprofessional.

We paid a lot of money to stay at this resort which is very rundown. The resort is advertised online as a beautiful luxury stay, but it is not. the grounds and buildings are poor. The rooms are damp and old, the beds sink in, the tv in our room did not work (two remotes, one did. not work at all and the other had triple A batteries put in it when it needed double A. I literally shook the remote like a rattle. The WIFI DID NOT work in our room at all, all weekend. The ac unit is in the master room only and the lamps in my kids room did not work at all. Nothing is included in your accommodation, breakfast, or amenities, everything is extra charges. Breakfast was poor and showed a lack of quality. I would say that the only thing great at this resort was the golf and the water play structure for the kids. The front desk, scrambled at all he questions I asked them and I was told to google how to walk to bistro at the gold club... It was just such poor quality for the reputation it has online. On sunday morning we had an 11am check out and we had room service at our door at 10:35, literally (no joke) asking us when we are leaving and stood there at our front door patio waiting for us to move our stuff out. It was insane and when I mentioned it to the front desk, they said "I know, they shouldn't be doing that" and thats it. Please take a second look at the place before reserving. the need extreme upgrades and or should bring their prices way down. Will not stay here again. The amount we paid here was absurd for what we got. It is crazy how people have rated this place a 5star.

Love this golf resort for its golf course and clubhouse. The resort needs a refresh, but it's still a great place for a vacation.

Can't beat the location, amenities, service. Top notch. Rooms need to be updated. We had a 2bdrm (1 king, 2 doubles) with kitchenette/living room, no view. Double beds were from the 80s. For the price, should at least be hotel grade beds. Wifi was very spotty. You were better off going out of the room. Not big complaints but things not expected for the price you pay. It was good enough for our guys trip.

Beautiful spot on one of the best lakes in Muskoka-- kids water play park is top notch -- we drive across the lake to come here for lunch because of it!

BEAUTIFUL location. APPALLING service. Stayed 3 nights in a 2 bedroom as part of a larger conference group. To put it simply, this is a great resort as long as you don't require any service or interaction from the staff. The roughly 40 members of our professional group ageed that Rocky Crest Resort has terrible service, and will never be returning. Don't stay here if you expect anything above 1 star service.

Attended a friend's wedding at rocky rest. Overall the experience was quite good. The rooms are older, but spacious and roomy for 2 couples in the loft style rooms. Food at the dockside restaurant was way overpriced for the quality of the food. A pint of beer was $11 which seems very expensive, especially since it's a local brewery.

Came up for a friends wedding towards the end of the season. The good -the view -ease of access to the waterfront - the food at the wedding was fantastic - the bathrooms for the outdoor wedding area where immaculate and stocked with supplies - the staff where lovely. The understandable -poor wifi signal both in room and around resort. -lack of tv channel variety for the evenings -somewhat steep hills that luggage needed to be carried up and down to get to our room. The bad - multiple instances of noticable damage to the room - hole in the wall in the living room - cracked paint in all rooms -heater in the shared living room did not function (though the ones in the bedrooms worked well) -the stairs up from the walkway to the room where in very poor condition and very slippery after it rained. - the food, outside of the wedding event food it was mediocre at best, and near inedible in some cases. Though the venue itself is quite lovely, and the staff where nice. But i would not personally come back or reccomend to anyone i know.

We booked Lakeview 2 bedroom suite. We were shocked by how bad the condition of the suite. The room is dated and not clean. Light bulbs are broken, sofa cushion is broken, toilet is shaking, A/C are covered with dust, heating board failing apart. The list can go on and on. The upside are the location, the friendly staff and waterfront play set. Especially the young guy working at the waterfront, very helpful, polite and friendlier.

Very, very expensive. Lake Joseph was beautiful. Restaurants are very expensive. Rooms need a refresh. We had 2 bedroom and it was $1488 for two nights.

The rooms were nice. The lake is beautiful. The service is ok . Here are the negative points. Nobody was assisting in the canoe, kayak and pedal boat use. Beach is small and mediocre. Facilities are nothing special ...especially for the price.

This is a perfect getaway for family. There are huge bungalows which are part of the big resort. There are water activities and a lots to do. The restaurant has good food and there is a swimming pool that's fun too.

We’ve been to Rocky Crest many times and keep going back. It’s a mini vacation from the city that offers a lot. Lake, pool, saltwater pool. Camp for kids. A restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking. All of the non motorized water equipment is available and a bouncy castle in the summer is a huge hit with my kids. The golf course is beautiful. Really feels like a nice getaway.

Amazing stay for a wedding over the weekend. Very easy check in to our 2 bedroom loft. Cleaning service came, wood fireplace available and everything was very clean and close.

I assume this was a really nice place when it opened but the rooms are dated and require some maintenance - towel racks falling off, older furniture. The event space is nice and the rooms are spacious, but the upkeep doesn't warrant the nightly rate.

Definitely more of a rustic experience that a luxury vacation… I’ve never seen a dirtier hot tub in my life. The pool was also dirty. The light outside of our room didn’t work. Wifi didn’t work for the entire duration of our stay and the front desk staff would not fix it for us. The price is astonishingly high for what you get. Positives- The views are fantastic! The bed was comfortable. AC worked well. Edit: I would like to add that we went there for a wedding and the bartender was extremely rude. Ex. My great aunt asked for water with ice and she said “there’s ice in the pitcher but it won’t get in your glass….” And I had to ask for water 3 times just to get my cup filled. The waitress made a rude comment when we asked for caesars as our drink at cocktail hour. However, The food was very good! the music was so quiet you could barely hear it and then they turned it off at I believe 11pm or midnight.. they also stopped serving alcohol. The ceremony location was beautiful! Lakeside the wedding included a fire at the end of the night but a worker came over and threw water on it at 1am. Pretty disrespectful if you ask me, you’re paying 20k + for a wedding and they end your party for you?

We have been very disappointed with the resort. It is very expensive and the rooms are run down and needs updating. There are no stove for cooking. The restaurant food was average and very expensive. It is also noisy place as there are a lot of families and barking. It feels like a summer camp. This could be acceptable if that is what you want, but the cost is much to high. We had plan a 3 day vacation, the only day that was great is the golf day. The golf course is in great condition and very enjoyable. Otherwise, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT.

Went for a wedding, Food - was simply not good. More plates full of food went back to the kitchen than empty ones. Unorganized and slow service. Bar - only 1 bar tender, 20-30 min wait for drinks, limited selection, no shots, only one line per drink (no idea why but thought it was funny) Venue - beautiful view for the ceremony, the reception under the tent was fun but some lighting for the washrooms would have been nice Maybe my expectations were too high thinking of Muskoka.

Asolutely beautiful at the resort! The staff were very friendly, the obstacle course was so much fun I lost my glasses on the slide 🙃 but asked a couple of the boat house boys if they'd help me find them in the water at the bottom of the slide. A young man named Will retrieved them! I'm very lucky and the time spent there was great.

Loved our stay! Staff were warm and accomodating, view was stunning. Room was large and clean. Only issue was the toilet wouldn't flush properly and was incredibly loud. Food was fine and priced on par with what you would get anywhere else aside from breakfast; that was pretty dissapointing to be honest and should just be included in your room rate IMO. There was a communal BBQ area if you want to bring your own stuff to grill (we didn't but good to know for next time). Great location and right next to Hammer Bay Marine where we were able to rent a boat for a day. Golf course was amazing! Overall, great vibe!

We been there over the past 8 to 10 years. Location is great and the staff is great. The downside is the rooms really need a upgrade. Mold in the bathroom as well as paint peeling off the toilet was very loosely attached not enough water pressure in the shower. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and had a chipmunk running around inside the restaurant like a previous stay. Overall over priced needs many upgrades.

By the lake, plenty of water activities for free, golfing available though not on site. I would agree it's a good place for family vacation. No stove or oven for cooking but microwave and fridge are available. Food choices are limited and pricey for what you get, expect limited service and long wait for food during prime time. Tennis courts are 10 minutes walk from rooms. Rooms is clean, mattresses are comfortable. I would describe it as rustic more than luxurious.

We have been going here every summer for about 13 years now, the place is amazing, great golf course, awesome staff, wonderful lake with inflatables, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and more! 2 pools both clean amazing rooms and views and even a small playground, mini golf, tennis, basketball and volleyball. So much to explore and for a pretty good price we will definitely continue coming here for many more years!

We did a 4-man 2-night golf trip for an amazing price which included 2 rounds... We played Lake Joe on our first day there, then Rocky Crest the next day. Both courses were in my top 10 I've ever played... absolutely beautiful scenery... and extremely well kept with quick greens. The rooms were actually bigger than we expected with a decent sized living space attached to the kitchen with the bedroom and bathroom in another room. Yes the rooms were slightly dated but for 4 dudes just there to golf we didn't care about that at all... we barely spent any time in the rooms as it is. The only minor complaints I would have... the toilet was tough to flush... not ideal for 4 men but we figured out a trick to "get the vortex going" as my one buddy called it. The walkway to our room was basically non existent... and there was no cleaner in the morning. None of this bothered us enough to complain but it's worth noting for others planning a trip. The front desk was extremely helpful with anything we called about, whether it be some complimentary bags of ice or directions around the lot/shuttles to the course. I'd 100% recommend this to anyone as strictly a golf trip with the boys... Families and couples would have to do more research to see if it fits what they want.

Great 4 bedroom homes and an awesome golf course with members bounces off the Rocky terrain. Will be back to play rounds again. Cheers!!

Room rating : Bon Jovi - living on a prayer and in need of repair. Amenities rating: pool and sauna- better of jumping in the lake Camp fire- doused in water at midnight to prevent any further fun Golf course- very nice track, food was mediocre at clubhouse. Duck tape and scotch tape holding screens together doesn’t scream private muskoka golf though. Restaurant rating: if you like hospital food you’re in luck Wedding coordinator: more annoying than a hemorrhoid Random billing charges on everyone’s room invoice. Overall: light it on fire and start over
