Had a great time here! One of our party has the cilantro soap gene and is vegan, and the staff was really great about making sure she was able to enjoy the dishes. Food was delicious, definitely going again in the future.

This is a contemporary restaurant serving Mexican food with a modern twist. We love the guacamole and choriqueso. The carnitas, camarones Al Ajillo and pollo con cuatro chiles are all deliciously prepared and we tend to reorder them when we dine here. I’m glad they reopened for lunch although the menu is quite limited at that time. This place has a large tequila selection and they offer tequila based cocktails.

Mercado Mexican Restaurant on South Lake in Pasadena offers a culinary experience from South of the Border. There is dine inside seating in an eclectic setting. Tables are roomy and the atmosphere is inviting. The outside patio is fun to dine in an open air atmosphere and people watch shoppers on South Lake. There is also outside seating in the Colonnade side, with tables along the outside wall of the restaurant. We heard their margaritas were a must "try," however I did not come away that feeling. Last time I was here I had a Sangria that I enjoyed and our server offered us a "Spicy Jalapeño Margarita" which she stressed three times was spicy.. so we steered clear. Our table ordered the cauliflower appetizer, yummy, the chicken enchiladas in a chocolate ranchers sauce and the carnitas plate. All were delicious and I'd enjoy again. Parking is limited on the street and you need to travel across the way for the public lot. 90 minutes FREE and $2 per hour thereafter.

Food was delicious. I had fillet mignon tacos, the were very good with hand made tortillas and pickled onions. I also had their Flan which it was very creamy and tasty. Loved the atmosphere Spanish rock playing in the background.

Delicious, great cocktails and food is top notch. NOT CHEAP. I had dinner here with a business colleague. Our order: two cocktails each, guacamole, queso, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, ahi tacos, flan = $222 with tip.

First time dining at Mercado, and it was great. Keep in mind that we had a party of 12, our service was very attentive from our server to the manager, Glen. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and the food came out within minutes! Really beautiful setting, and the food was well made. Sidenote: the Tres Leches cake was amazing, and the portion is VERY shareable.

The servers were friendly. The atmosphere was pretty lively. And, the food was good, ESPECIALLY their flan! But, their margaritas could have been better. I got Mercado Margarita, and it was very sour. It didn’t have the coarse salt around the rim, which didn’t seem right. And, the restaurant inside smelled a bit like Clorox. And, we were surprised that they charged us $2 for a habanero sauce. (We wished we were informed about the extra charge instead of finding out about it when we got our check.) For the most part, the experience was good.

Went here for Father’s Day. We waited 25 minutes for food. I didn’t really think it was such a big deal, but they noticed, apologized, and comped our meal. The food was so good, but we only had brunch items, and I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more. Chilaquiles we’re not the best I’ve ever had, but really good! The carnitas was cooked beautifully. My wife had a delicious mole, my daughter loved her steak tacos, and we did t even know she liked steak! I mentioned to friends that we went there, and they rated it highly, too. We have been in Pasadena for three years but don’t go out enough, so we are still discovering the best spots. It might be pricier than other spots, but it made my Father’s Day feel special

November 2022: Stopped by for brunch and had a very nice meal. We sat outside by the street and the space was very pleasant. The sun was a bit intense and the server lowered the shades for us! 👍 We shared the guacamole 🥑 and chips. The guacamole had nice 🥑 chunks. Chips tasted freshly made and had good crunch. For my main, I had the Mexican Kale salad with chicken. I enjoyed the salad and the portion size was decent. Service was great. We caught up with some friends we hadn't seen since before the pandemic. So we ended up staying for almost ~ 3 hours. They weren't too busy so we didn't feel bad about taking so long. We also didn't feel pressured to go. So thanks to the workers for making us feel comfortable with staying. 🙏

First time coming to here and wife and I can't wait to go back! The cocktails were prepared top notch (watermelon basil margarita and border psycho beer shown). I tried the jicama shrimp tacos and waiter recommended side of the aoli which enhanced the flavor. We ordered the duo dip and you must try it! Finally, wife ordered the enchiladas that she loved and I got the carnitas plate which are a signature dish that i can highly recommend. We tried the churro ice cream which was a delicious treat. In the end, we were amazed at the all the different flavors and modern takes on traditional recipes that warrant another trip.

Ok, so I happened to stumble across this gem while visiting in pasadena. And it was absolutely fantastic! My favorite was the queso mushroom dip! It was amazing, and I had Chile relleno to die for! Drinks were great and the dessert was perfection! A gem don't wait to try! My wife's fish tacos were good as well!

Fantastic drinks & service. The food, while not authentic is very good. Everything tastes hand made, specially their tamale dough. Would absolutely recommend any of their weekly special cocktails.

The menu here is small. The wine list is not great good thing we took our own. The Tacos were great so was the Dip Duo.

The carnitas we're so good and it was definitely a delicious experience. I've had nothing like it before, It was flavorful. I replace the cauliflower with queso mashed potatoes. My friend had the tomahawk steak and that was good!!! I think I like my carnitas better even he agreed but it was both a good dish. There is no toughness to the tomahawk steak and it was good for about two people. I would recommend getting a side. The guacamole with chips were really good as well the chips taste fresh and they were warm. If you're looking for a non-alcoholic drink I would recommend the watermelon cucumber fresca. It was soo good & to finish off dinner with churro or ice cream. The ice cream doesn't have a actually churro, but there's bits mixed into ice cream itself. Our bill with three alcoholic drinks, tomahawk steak, guacamole, fresca drink, carnitas plate, and ice cream churro dessert. Came out to be $200 without tip yet. I definitely would come back here as a treat. It was very good!
