We use to visit here once a week for years… they have raised their prices so much that they are pricing their rolls just like Kaviar around the corner(which is a high end restaurant) and Mama is not that. Lovely people but the price is not matching the quality. A year and half ago we use to get a Playboy roll for $15, now it’s $24 and the quality is much lower. We love you guys, but the new prices are excessive, no thank you! Oba Sushi is our new weekly regular, amazing fresh cuts, delicious flavors without the absurd prices.

The service was great. Our server was nice and attentive. The menu prices are reasonable and they taste great. The location was also nice in the old town Pasadena with a free 90 minutes parking right around the corner. Here is a bonus point: you can find so many different items on their menu. Sushi, sashimi, poke, bento box, ramen, etc.

Sushi with a twist, loved the option of rolls without rice. Friendly and fast service, with some tables outside.

One of the best Japanese / Sushi restaurants I have ever been to. Everything, and I repeat - EVERYTHING - we ordered was incredible. I highly recommend getting at least one of the sushi rolls with cream cheese - it’s a game changer. I would also highly recommend the Baby Back Ribs (Tonkotsu) Ramen, it was so so good! Super highly recommend this place.

Great value both our chirashi and ramen are good portion. Fish are fresh and ramen soup taste good. The ribs can be little more tender

LOVE THE FOOD! Geat fresh sushi. Good assortment and fair pricing. Very good drinks. Service was SLOW-Mo. Not attentive and food took a long time. Atmosphere is nothing to write home about. Very basic. They do have outdoor street seating.

My friend and I were very impressed with Mama M. At first I thought this was one of those Old Town trendy restaurant with mediocre food. Was I wrong. Our meal was quite tasty. You can tell the chef put thoughts into the making of the food. Flavors were balanced - not overly flavored or spiced and not overly salted. That's important to me because I want to be able to taste the freshness of the food. Not only we enjoyed our meal, we also had a nice time chatting with our friendly server M. We had a dog with us and M even brought a cup of water for him. The whole dining experience was very pleasant. The price is a bit on the higher end; however, I would still recommend this place to friends.

Everything was excellent, the fish quality is as good as I’ve ever had, and the staff are very kind. My dad and I will be back! I recommend trying the toro sushi 😛

I was very impressed with my experienced here. The wait staff was very friendly and ready to help. They kept us updated about our orders at all times. The sushi was delicious and filling. Got the Bad Angel and the Say Fish rolls. Will be coming back soon! 10/10

The cuisine here is fantastic. Great for satisfying the crave for sushi or Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend the bento boxes as they will easily get you full. Also, indoor dining is available! Try out their green tea while you're here, they use some premium tea.

This is a small sushi restaurant that offers a vast selection of rolls as well as sashimi and ramen. The tables are arranged too close together and one can easily hear other patrons’ conversations. The baby back ribs ramen was delicious but the ribs looked out of place on the bowl. I think it’s better served separately. The chirashi was fresh and delicious but kinda pricey. We loved the BSCR, shrimp village and spider rolls. The restaurant is worth a try but ask to be seated outside to avoid the noise.

Very busy a dinner time, as expected. The food was good. Edamame came out refrigerator cold. When I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be cold, she said no and took it. At the same time, I asked for silverware because we didn't have any. After about 5 mins, she came back with silverware and warm edamame. Not a fan of can soda.

First time here. We ordered hot green tea, spicy edamame, pork ribs, California roll and a Cute devil roll. Everything was very good and tasty. You got to make sure to get spicy mayo on the side. I would definitely come back!

Amazing sushi. We ordered five different rolls, all of which were great tasting and large quantity. The fish was super fresh, the rolls had little rice and the presentation was very well done. The decor was beautiful, great vibes and great service.

What a gem. Food was amazing...fresh and delicious flavor profiles. Best crispy rice with spicy tuna I've had ANYWHERE. Service was fantastic and the ambiance was nice. Not too bright, cozy, and a buzz of happy eaters and conversations. Looking forward to making this one of our sushi go-tos on the regular.

Ate here today out on their patio area and have a great lunch on a sunny morning. We ordered the dragon roll, mixed tempura, soft shell crab, and a bento box and they were all delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. A little pricey but that is what you expect for Old Town. We will definitely come back.

I had breakfast in mind but there was a wait so I decided to check this place out, looked intimate and cozy. I’ve been craving some beer and the cloudy weather was perfect for some Udon too. The shrimp tempura that came along with the Udon was perfectly crisp on the other hand the Crispy Tuna was a bit too crispy but all good flavors. Thinking it would be a charming place for a date in anytime of day as you get a good view of Pasadena City Hall while arriving.
