Came here on a Sunday morning as wanted to walk the trail to the Rose Bowl. Very narrow driveway to a small parking lot, but there was plenty of parking. Majority of people were heading to the archery area and I was the only one heading to the trails. It wasn't clear which side of the stream to walk as there's paths on each side. Heading to the Rose Bowl, I walked on the right side of the stream which luckily was the correct path. While the trail wasn't the nicest, it was a nice walk as you walked under the Colorado Bridge, Pioneer's Bridge, and the 134 on the way to the Rose Bowl. You eventually end up on the street for the last 15 minutes to the Bowl. There's an aquatic center, tennis courts, and a park before you reach the Rose Bowl. Since it was the college football bowl season, the grounds were getting prepared for the nationally televised bowl. The Lower Arroyo Park was a simple park that was not as heavily crowded as the other local parks. The trails were wide at the beginning, but became narrower once you pass the Colorado Bridge. Nice quiet trails that were relatively easy.

What a beautiful hike this was. A river right next to us part of the way. Green as can be. Giant pools of water.

First time here and I loved it! So beautiful! If you take the trail to the left you'll get to the stairs on the photo. I came on a Sunday, plenty of parking. Not too many people.

Wow, I've lived in LA since 1969 and I'd never been to this park ... and it's pretty cool and there is much more of it I can go back and discover. The fly fishing casting pool, though, that was totally unexpected. We liked that there frogs growing along the wedges. And then a decent walk along clear patches LEDs us under the Colorado Blvd Bridge and then under the 134 Freeway. The only down side is that Arroyo Seco smells really bad in places.

Amazing place. This is one of the oldest archery ranges in the country but is also an amazing place to walk your dog, go for a run, or ride your bike. The sunsets here are always beautiful and this is just a very beautiful place in general. There is also some wildlife here.

Nice park and nature area in an urban environment, isolated from the hum-hum of the surrounding cities (and even from cell phone reception) in a steep valley. The only slight downside: wide areas are reserved for the archers.

Love this spot. Archery (with city safety certification), horses, dogs, water, casting pond, bathrooms, wildlife and great hikes.

Beware of car break-ins! Hiking trail is lovely but there have been a LOT of break ins recently. This man broke into a car in the parking lot using some kind of hand crank. Cops were called, thankfully nothing was missing and no damage to the vehicle. He was driving a white minivan missing its front plate, back plate started with a 7 and ended in 59. Awful to prey on people who just want to enjoy some peace and quiet in nature.

I walked along the trail next to tall trees. My toddler and I enjoyed seeing butterflies and passing by horses and dogs with their owners. This is secluded place like a private place. Please do not litter and be quiet for peoples who meditate somewhere up the hills sometimes.

Good parking area for those people who are there to take a stroll through trails which is next to the LA river or around mountains. Good clean space where it has facility for archer practice.

Went specifically for the archery range. I went with a few of my friends to teach them how to shoot. We all had fun. We did not explore the whole archery range we went to the first one that was open which was right in front of the parking lot. Bring your own targets as well as some sturdy sticks about 6 inches long to stick your target to the hay bales, golf tees will not work. The spot we shot at had markers for 10, 20, 23 and 25 yards. I don't know if there's longer ranges but it was nice having the markers. Used a genesis bow at 20lb with no problems at 10 yards but my 60lb bow would have my arrows poking a few inches out the back at 25 yards so use with caution. No Broadheads!!! No bathrooms as far as I could tell. Maybe there was a Porta potty I missed. We went Sunday around 2 or 3pm. 9/18/22

Great hiking area, as you can see with the pictures. In addition, one of the oldest archery ranges in the United States. Take that into consideration, if you want to use the range though get an archery safety credentials unless you want to be fined by the city. Free classes offered on Saturdays though.

Really nice place to spend some quiet time. There is an Archery range here. You'll want to check out the website for information. We took some lessons. The coaches are really great. Nice hiking trail and tables and benches too. Beautiful so Cal scenery as well.

Took our dog on this easy hike that goes under the Colorado bridge and you can walk to the Rose Bowl and the attached parks. We returned to the lot around 4:30 and could hear multiple coyotes nearby so beware!

Lower Arroyo Park is a peaceful nature park along Arroyo Seco, the dry stream. There are hiking trails on both side of the creek, but they are not paved. Great place for a hike, jog or dog walk. The park is in a valley so it's really quiet. There aren't a lot of amenities though. Restroom is close to the parking lot on the east side of the creek. Head south from the park you'll find the Arroyo Park with a bike path that goes all the way to Montecito Heights; head north from here, you can reach the Rose Bowl.
