HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! After a long day of traveling, making reservation was easy and payment was done. Nice arrived the older lady was extremely rude so was the old guy at window. It was cold outside and made me and my husband get out of car and had to show ID and all for them to tell me they’re don’t accept my method of payment when they had already deducted the amount.

Stayed at this place twice staff is accommodating lady at the front desk is nice people need to read the comments before getting a hotel this hotel does require a major credit card not just a debt card from the bank. I had rebooked another reservation for another week for the same number of beds, I had to leave and come back at 3:00 pm and was given a room that had little red bugs on the sheets, I immediately asked to be moved to another room. I cannot understand why we could of kept our same room, get it clean and avoided the bug room altogether. So I am editing my 1st review due to this reason. My second stay was not good.

No complaints! The staff are all friendly and sweet, very welcoming. From the reception to the housekeeping personnel, great job and thank you! The room is spacious and neat. Breakfast is just right, bread and cup noodles are enough to start our day. They didn’t charge my card the deposit (hopefully we won’t see any surprising charges soon). Overall, Howard Johnson Pasadena is perfect for our 4-night stay.

The place is okay, don't expect more than that. The price was affordable and nicely located. The shower was lukewarm, the room very dated and in need of some work. However the beds were descent and the area was quiet.

I've stayed here three times so far without issue. Rooms have been clean with some minor wear and tear. Everything in working order, parking is easy. Check in requirements are more involved than other places, but as long as you book with a credit card, have all guests present with drivers license, and get your temperature taken it's pretty straightforward. For such an affordable price I have no complaints.

Fabulous value for your money. The hotel is an older property, but well maintained, updated, clean and a great breakfast. The front desk person Tom is wonderful and has a cheery disposition a person you look forward to seeing each day. However, the only negative would be the front desk person in the evening late shift (shoulder length, salt n pepper hair older woman at night) rude and condescending in her delivery as the mask police from instructing people to mask up in the parking lot, to the vending machines while she does not wear hers behind her glass window, a little hypocritical. Overall, our go to hotel when we stay in LA once a month. My hubby stays there each time he comes and now I stayed with him and will only book with this great property each month.

At first, I gotta say that I was sketched out by the "vintage" look of it. But when I checked in, I was able to talk to the staff and they had so much knowledge and great attitude that it was all worth it. The beds were clean and the rooms spacious. My husband and I felt safe leaving out personal items out. It has a charm to it and we couldn't really complain. Its situated nicely with many eateries around. ---I do want to come back here, I was recently in LA and I was hella bum that I couldn't book this hotel. Honestly 10/10 and I will def keep booking it when I come back again \(^_^)/

I've stayed here twice while working at Caltech. This is perfect location as you can get there walking in about 15 minutes. There are a multitude of places to eat around the hotel all within walking distance. The free breakfast is descent for quick bite before heading out in the morning and it's pretty quiet for at night.

The room was really outstanding, comfortable, and clean. Very good location to visit old town Pasadena, which reminded me of how San Francisco used to look. I would like to commend and thank the the owner/manager and staff for their serious enforcement of COVID safety considerations. The free breakfast was a little limited (hard boiled eggs, yogurt, breads, and drinks with take back to your room only) because of that. But we certainly felt safe and comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed here. A great attention to safety. The room's appear to be recently remodeled. Breakfast had a good selection A few things here and there but we were well satisfied with our visit.

This was a real mixed bag. First the staff was great! The TV needs to be replaced. It had to be unplugged every time we used it to get the remote to work. The bathroom had a sewer smell that got continuously stronger so we had to change rooms. The second room was much better. Don't plan on the continental breakfast to be anything but a snack. This is an older motel but in good/nice condition. It was a very good location for us. Look around and you'll find good food and things to do.

I stopped by here on my way to the Bay Area late July 2023. I was travelling late in the night, and I made a pit stop at Howard Johnson at Pasadena. When I entered the room at 11.45 pm, the room was good. Around mid-night I stepped into the shower, and all I got was hot water. Luke warm or even cold water would not turn on, even if I moved the lever from one side to the other! This was ridiculous! I managed to take a shower, very uncomfortably. It was along day of driving, so I went to bed right after. When I woke up at 5 am, I called the reception to tell them of the situation. The night duty manager, he cannot do anything about it. At 5 am, I also realized the bed cover was dirty, there was 3 long hairs present on my white sheets. i'm bald, so its surely not mine. This is unacceptable. To make matters worse I realize that the room's phone did not work. At 8 am, the Duty Manager was there. His name was Tony. Tony told me that he will check the room. He comes back and tells me that the cold water is now working, and he would not believe that only HOT water was available in the shower late night. Tony agreed that the phone was not working, but he was adamant that the sheets in the room were clean. I didn't take a picture which was my mistake. It was very early at 5 am, and I was tired from driving. Tony escalated this to the manager because I demanded I speak to him. The manager refused to give me the call, but told Tony that there will be no compensation offered. I paid $152/night to stay here. And this the treatment I did. Avoid this place like the flu. Stay elsewhere for your money. Poor housekeeping, and very poor customer service.

-Check in experience: Easy, no complaints. -Check out experience: Poor (hence the 4 stars). No one was in the office to check me out. I waited about 15 mins. -Room: Outstanding. Very clean, always smelled nice, excellent daily maid service. -Parking: I came and went all hours of the day & night, always available spaces. Lot nicely paved, no potholes. Swept daily. -Appearance: Lovely outdoor ambience. Kept up well, does not look run down. Pretty flowers/landscaping. -Smokers: 3 pleasant, clean outdoor patio areas for smoking. Chairs, tables, ashtray, shaded

Room was nice and clean. Water pressure in the shower was low and breakfast options were limited even for a continental breakfast but overall a great place to stay. Location is awesome.

Was here for one night. Checked in late. Bed was too firm, and I found room has an intense air freshener smell. It was so intense, that I could not sleep for many hours. The sheet I was supposed to lie on was crumbled. So I could not tell if it was clean or dirty. TV worked well, and breakfast was descent for $118/night rate. I would gladly stay at the Travelodge for an additional $15 more next time.

The hotel clerks are awesome, especially the day shift manager Tommy, very friendly, he took care of myself and my family. Very respectful and made sure that we didn't need anything. Very informative of places to eat and how to get to the stadium easily. Thank you Tommy SGT. STUBBLEFIELD & FAMILY

I stayed at the Howard Johnson in Pasadena on my birthday a few weeks ago! Clydanna was the woman who worked in the front and helped me get everything situated with my stay. I have to tell you.... She is AMAZING! She is one of the kindest, personable and hospitable individuals one can ever meet. I was running into some initial challenges with getting registered and she definitely went above and beyond for me. I have a feeling that she doesn't only do this for me. She'll probably do all that she can to help others in the way that she can. She really is one amazing individual. I hope that the hotel management team can do something nice for her. People like her are rare and it's important to honor these types of employees in a very special way - more than a pat on the back... :) I hope this note serves you their team well. It's nice to know that there are more good people out there. Keep up the great work!

Great stay in a nice, private area. I was there for two weeks and I never encountered any issues, other than the internet disconnecting a little too frequently. Breakfast was also a little disappointing

The guy in front desk was extremely rude. He also told us that checkin time is at 3 pm and if we want to checkin earlier, we need to pay extra $45. Breakfast was the minimum that anyone can expect. Room was clean and nice.
