My favorite place for Hainan Chicken Rice. Been coming here for years and it's always delicious. Savoy Kitchen is easily missed if you don't recognize the location. They have street parking and a little lot across the street. The menu offers a variety of chicken, duck, pizza, and pasta. They also have daily specials that I have yet to try. I rarely stray from my usual meal here, but I heard the curry is good! I recommend eating in, because of the fact that you get an unlimited refill of that delicious ginger sauce! I soak that stuff all over my chicken and rice. The red sauce is pretty good too, but that ginger garlic though! It's the bees knees! Quite recently I tried a bit of the Cornish hen, and I love how crispy it was. Could definitely see that dish being part of my rotation. Though it's also one of those dishes that you have to eat while at the restaurant, I don't think the crispy skin would age well if you opt for take out. Glad that my go to Hainan Chicken spot is still going strong! They also accept card now!

We got here around 6pm on Friday evening and we were able to get a table pretty quick. I got Hainan chicken rice plate with dark meat and my boyfriend got beef stew with pasta. I haven't been here for so long so it was nice to come back and see that their dishes still taste the same. The chicken was juicy. I love the rice so much (steamed in rice broth) since it was quite flavorful. I was able to try some beef stew and it was quite tender. The prices for the dishes haven't changed but I noticed the portion size for chicken is slightly less (which is understandable).

No drink refills (menu), indoor and outdoor seating. Refills are at the wait service's discretion. I've been passing by this place since I was a little child, they have been open for well over 2 decades, so they're doing something right. Despite being land locked by their dining area that's smaller than my bedroom, they continue to have people who are willing to wait in line to order food...for good reason. They have incredibly great hinan chicken and Italian food!(?) The most surprising aspect about this restaurant is that they have outstanding Italian food!!! Their chicken marinara pasta tastes perfect, and my favorite dish here. I believe they make their sauce from scratch, which enhances the quality and the flavor of the sauce, as well as the tender chicken. Since opening, they have expanded their dining area with outdoor seating. Depicted are: sausage marinara pasta, chicken marinara pasta, and something I forgot lol

Only thing worth ordering is the ginger sauce. Quite honestly a big let down. I've had the chicken in Singapore, and HK, so I know what is should be like. The rice was dry, chicken had no essence. Sauces were good. Took forever to get extra. Not enough but for three bites worth. Still don't get why people wait here. It didn't bother me but you should exercise some discretion, a food server petted a customer's dog quite a bit, then proceeded to serve the table next to us their food. Pizza tasted liked boxed frozen pizza; no I apologize, frozen pizza deserve more respect than the one that was served. Pork curry was really tough and no flavor. Two stars is being generous but the cashier was very pleasant and the ginger sauce was the star.

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm and there was no line to sit in the outside patio - perfect for us to have a late lunch and have our dog with us. We ordered 3 Hainan chickens with 3 broths. And I got a chrysanthemum tea. The chicken dishes were incredible as usual! The chicken was nice and moist, although cut into large chunks. The rice was perfect and fragrant with that subtle chicken umami flavor. The sauces were AMAZING with the Hainan sauce being our favorite. The broth was also nice and delicate and came in a huge mug, one is definitely enough. With that, you can taste that the dishes have a large a mount of MSG. Not a bad thing, but just something to be aware of if you are sensitive to eating a lot of the ingredient. Lastly, the meals here are really good prices so the deliciousness and value can’t be beat.

They're considered one of the top places in SoCal for Hainan Chicken and they also offer a lot of fusion food like pasta + pizza + escargot. Despite not being the best Hainan Chicken I've had in California, it's still pretty good and worth trying. As of their other dishes, they're hits or misses. They have a dedicated free parking lot right across the street. For dining in, they only have limited outdoor seatings so expect to wait 20-30 minutes during busy times. It can get chilly at night so bring a jacket. I do recommend trying it out. Expect to pay $20-30 per person.

Greatly enjoyed my Hainan chicken here. Sat outside in the veranda on a sprinkly Monday. Got dark meat (+$1) and glad to see that they actually give you a large decent amount. Though this wasn't the best Hainan chicken I've had, for the price and convenience, I'm not mad.

Just like what I remembered from years ago. Haven't been here for over seven years and it's as good as before. If you want homie yummy goodness food, Savoy Kitchen is where it's at. The price is about average and the quality and taste of the food is absolutely amazing! Had the Hainanese chicken with rice and baked seafood casserole. The Hainanese chicken is basic but very delicious. In my opinion, a very good post workout meal. The sauces definitely compliment the chicken and rice. There are options with rice and salad or just with salad or just with chicken. Just try the chicken!! Baked seafood casserole came out creamy (had option with tomato sauce but I recommend with creamy sauce) with an abundance of seafood ie. Scallops, fish, shrimp, and mushroom. Can be served with rice or pasta. The flavor, the everything hits the spot. These two items is a must to try if you visit here !

I had a Hainan chicken rice with salad and chicken broth. The food was good but dining place was too small and narrow.

Absolute staple in SGV. 6pm on a Monday, got seated within 5 min. Outdoor seating or takeout only. Used to be only cash but now they accept card with a $15 min! Dark meat hainan chicken rice (get extra ginger oil) and pork chop curry. I could go without the curry next time. Hainan chicken such a steal though.

I haven't dined here for a long time. My review is about my take out experience. Their food is always consistent and thus is a good thing. Their signature dish is Hainan Chicken Right and it won't disappoint. They now have a parking lot across the street and that's a plus.

It’s a good dish of chicken rice that you can live by but it’s not “Hainan” chicken rice standard. The meat is not soft enough and lack of collagen. We put our names on the list and the server walked back and forth noticing us but won’t bother to “ hi I’ll be right with you” so it’s kinda awkward didn’t know where we should stand, no instruction on what’s next after writing your name down. The restaurant’s setting is confusing. We ordered half chicken and 2 bowls of flavored rice, the service went “ you meant 2 orders?” “ well yes 2 orders I guess..i don’t know how big is an order” She went again “ ok 2 orders” Perhaps she could explain: the rice will be on a plate so it’s called as order blah blah blah. It made the whole conversation go like an argument between “ order” or “ bowl” - which was very unnecessary. We just want to eat Hainan chicken rice. My husband tried to speak in Chinese so maybe it’s easier to communicate but she went on with English then later she spoke Chinese to other customers and her co-worker. Like why… I also don’t like that they put the sauce plate on top of the rice. The bottom of a sauce plate is usually not clean… The food is decent but the whole experience here was not pleasant.

Love their pastas! Especially mushroom pasta and baked halibut! They opened up some more tables indoors, so we got a table quick for a 6:30 pm Saturday dinner!

I love this place more after they renovated, providing outdoor seating for kiddo or w/ pets. I have tried pretty much everything here on the menu, you can never go wrong with classic Hainan chicken w/ Salad and their classic lemon ice tea.

Service is bad. Do not recommend and will never come again. Ordered from the back facing lady front of the counter appears to be more of an argument than customer service. That lady need to do better. Food is so so, chicken is hard and dry, the tight meat is decent, rice is hard and dry, not much chicken rice taste. So if you are thinking about coming here. Don't. Really a waste of money and time.

Been here for a number of years and the quality and service seems to have fallen. This is a popular place and the chicken IA good, but the portions are getting smaller, wait staff not as friendly, and the presentation of the food is deteriorating. They just slap the food on the plate and hand it off to you on the table loudly and impolitely.

The Conch Pasta Dish, Creme Brule and Iced Coffee were fantastic!! The service was not only quick but wonderful. The ladies that serve and take your order were all so very friendly. I can see why this place is always packed. Great food and great atmosphere.

This is a no fuss dining experience. You get in line and place your order and they bring it out. We ate out side in the patio so flies were a bit of an issues. Street parking or a parking lot across the street, but it was very tight and cramp. I was overly excited for this place because a lot of bloggers speak highly of the place but for me, the food was mediocre and the sauce the came with the chicken was not mind blowing. The hainan chicken was a little too soft for me. The rice was rather dry. The pepper steak was decent and better than the chicken in my opinion. This is a once and done restaurant for me, not worth the drive from OC as banana bay in Rowland heights have the same dish, but better.

The Hainan chicken at Savoy is a local favorite for a reason. Very well marinated and cooked meat, with a fresh side salad and creamy dressing. A must try if you're nearby! Decent prices and service all around. There's a dedicated parking lot nearby, just follow the signs. You order at the counter and find a seat inside or out. Bathroom is behind the building. If you're prone to bites and you're sitting outside definitely put on bug spray during the summer or you'll be eaten alive.

I believe this is the most famous Hainan chicken rice in SoCal as I have heard so many times from many different friends. The quality of food is great and fresh. I think overall experience is good, but I think the portion for a regular Hainan chicken rice is a bit small.

Savoy is an iconic restaurant to the locals. It is a small little joint where if you don’t come early enough or come at the right time, seating will take a while to find. You can either togo some of the food or try to wait to find a seat. On the left hand side you’ll see a small outdoors seating area. While on the right hand side you’ll see you can order stuff togo inside. Came here during a hot summer day. The seats do have canopy in general to cover you from the sun but it is outside. Once seated, you order normally and then the food comes out through the little hole that gets delivered to you. Got the hainan chicken with beef curry. The hainan chicken was moist and tender. The sauces were okay. You get a salted ginger oil (salted ground ginger in oil), creamier? Sambal sauce, house soy sauce?. I ended up using the middle sauce which was their own version of a sambal sauce. The beef curry wasn’t like that of your typical Indian or Japanese style curry, slightly different. It was more on the savory side and not that sweet. Definitely on the heavier savory side. Now the highlight of this place is definitely their escargot. They first bring out pieces of these fluffy warm bread pieces. You can eat some right away or save it to dip it in their fluffy airy herb salted butter. The escargot was amazing. The way they prepared it almost made it seemed like you were eating a mushroom. Flavor and texture really gets you to think it’s a mushroom. The salted butter as well had a light airy herb like feel to it. Overall the best thing I’ve had here and would come back if I was in the area was their escargot. I would say for the price it’s pretty worth it, not too expensive and portions are on point. They also changed it so you can pay with card.
