This beach is approx 1km south of ponneri light house. True to its name the beach was quite calm. I was there with my significant half during noon and a km on both side not a single person was seen. Being and outsider to this area we felt a bit spooky. Better visit in a group for the safety. Soon one aquaintance (local guy) arrive & we felt a bit safe. The beach was quite clean as there is no human activity. Sand was prestine and full of colourfull shells. Advice: Visit in a group. Carry enough drinking water & some thing to eat as no shop is seen here. Try not to venture in water as this beach is without any life guard. Preserve its clenliness & do not litter.

As said, the beach is certainly calm and beautiful. Such a clean and crystal clear water. Really worth to spend with family and 'group of friends'. We can see a lot of shells, corals in the long coast line. Road to reach is quite bad, in construction phase. We need to be packed with necessary food and needy. No shops nearby and no local sea foods. Not at all commercialsed for tourist. Quite tedious job to reach from Chennai only for this beach. Sure should be tried for 1 time experience.

The name certainly does it justice. There is hardly any crowd here and you can enjoy the beach all to yourself. Perfect place to enjoy the sunrise with your family and loved ones. Although it wouldnโ€™t be advisable to venture here alone at night as the place is a bit on the interior side and one can get lost if they arenโ€™t familiar with the terrains and if they are alone. There isnโ€™t any public transport that leads you to the place so better to explore during the day times.

Yes the beach is really calm. No people were there when we went in the morning. Itโ€™s clean, We can see a lot of shells, corals in the long coast line. Really worth to spend with family and 'group of friends'. Road connectivity to reach here is quite bad. No shops nearby and no local sea foods, so please bring your own food.

Super calm outing with family and friends. Especially water is taken from soil in that Island like Oasis method and tastes similar to mineral water. Nice boating and cooking live fish . We can go only by boat as transport. Many villegers also go by using this boat transport to their villages. To reach Irakam islands, we need to travel 8 km boat journey over pulikat lake. Its peaceful, beautiful and fresh nature all over.Other than that its a beautiful place to see. Lovely place to visit and loved the boat ride and full of nature scenary and un the normal water is taste like mineral water. This is 10 km journey in boat where still cement and stones to construct comes in boat went with a friend visited 5 temples there lovely. The place is just awesome and so beautiful. The view surprises me a lot. The place feels like heaven. Experiencing such thing is just memorial for me. I hope i can come again here. Very nice place to visit. Enjoyed well with friends and second time went with full family. Good place to spend during weekends, but safety is compromised not advisable for family with kids no shops or toilets best place for friends for hangover. It's a fantastic place to visit. We have to hire a boat to go to the irukkam island. There is no shops to buy anything. We have to go with food and drinking water. Its a back water area and the boat ride is very much enjoyable. No houses are available in that island. The density of the water is high and hence we can float on the water. We can play, cook, swim and enjoy the whole day. good back waters its my native town .. its an island there is no road to get into there only way is to go by ferries and that too timing .. people there are kind hearted and also we can buy fish and big temple is there good place for remote vacations.

road is broken and difficult to reach. only way to reach beach with 4 wheeler is just after google map says you reached, there is a mud road for 50m. if you try to take your car any other way, it will get stuck in sand, as my front wheel drive SUV got stuck and had to back out. hardly anyone comes to this beach, so its all to yourself. slope is too much on the beach, so its dangerous, unless you want to just wet your feet.

Pristine beach. The best beach I ever visited. Absolutely clean. It is located at one of the seaside ends of Pulikat lake. It can be reached only by boat. Only fishing boats are available here. But they offer service at a nominal rate.

A perfect beach for family and kids. If you are looking for a place with privacy and where you can spend some quality time with family.. this will be the right place. And absolutely with no cost. The place is not very popular though so you may not find much shops near by..
