Must do when in Bali. Show is roughly around and hour. I would highly recommend seating 30 minutes before the show starts it gets very very busy and if your too late you won't get in. I would say arrive 2 hours before, this gives you enough time to look round the temple and also get to see some of the amazing views. The show itself was highly entertaining. The performers really went above and beyond. For someone that didn't really know the story they were performing it was still a great show to watch and you can easily follow the story throughout the show. While visiting do not take many loose belongings with you as the monkeys will steal them. They are not scared by the people at all. As I said before definitely worth a trip to the fire dance show.

The temple is beautiful along the cliff. Give yourself 1-2 hours to walk through the paths along the cliff. 50RP entrance fee. Another 150RP fee to see the fire dance. Line to buy tickets is long. Show starts at 6pm. We got pretty good seats 530pm facing the water/sunset but already 70% full. They will keep jamming up the arena and filling up the walkway stairs. Crazy crowded. Bench seating is tight and uncomfortable. The show tells the story of love stolen and retrieved. The fire dance is a highlight but only a small portion of the 1 hour show. The first 15 minutes or so is filled with percussive chants by the seventy performers. A bit repetitive after awhile but gets much better with more story and action about 20 minutes in. Be sure to read the 1 page story handout. It'll put context to the characters and movements. The show is enjoyable and well receive by the crowd.

A true Indonesian cultural experience. Story is a bit hard to follow but the chanting and costumes were great and it was performed overlooking the beautiful ocean. Very busy with long queues, get there early to get a spot.

It was lovely to watch traditional dance, although there wasn't much dancing involved, it was more story telling about the Ramayana. The music and sound effects were a little repetitive which was created by over 20 men. The Hanuman monkey parts were cool as he got involved with the crowd. We booked our tickets in advance online to see the dance. This is a separate entrance cost to the Uluwatu temple. And you also have to pay an entrance fee of IDR 50k per person which is roughly £2. So you pay separately for both areas, the Kecak Dance and entrance to the Temple and then entrance fee to get in. You must also cover up your back, shoulders and legs. They will provide a sarong at the entrance or you can wear long sleeves. Be careful of the wild monkeys they can be mischievous. Best to put phones, hats or sunglasses away in your bag or hold them in your hand. Overall it was okay, enjoyed parts of it, understood the story too, but couldn't hear the voices clearly as they had the masks and outfits on. Sunset time is the best time at 5.30pm. But this does get fully booked out quickly so book online in advance through the official website otherwise you will turn up and see a 1st show fully booked sign and will have to wait until the 7pm show. The sun will be glaring at you directly depending on where you sit so bring sunglasses or a cap to block it until the sun sets. The theatre seats are just made from cement so if you arrive early to get the good seats your back or legs may hurt as you won't be able to stand up to stretch your legs once the show starts. So avoid sitting for too long prior to the show start time, but do go in as soon as you have passed the ticket counter as it will start filling up fairly quickly and you won't get a front facing seat. Other than that, enjoy the show and take lots of photos and videos 😊

Absolutely must do if you’re visiting the Uluwatu temple. Key point, you have to line up at least around 4:30 pm or latest by 5 to get tickets for the show. Now this line is inside, so after you pay for the temple and get inside. Show begins at 6 and arena is already packed by 5:30. Prep in advance, get good seats and it will be an unbelievable experience. Will not spoil the show for you, but it’s one of the best.

Great show, nice location, can be packed during the weekend. If you want good seats with sunset view make sure to be there at least 30 min before the show starts. If you're on the outside of the stands you could climb down and sometimes the actors "behind the curtains" already take photos. The show is very interesting and the actors know how to interact with the crowd to keep the engagement up. Also visit Uluwatu Temple while being there. (Beware of the monkeys)

Sunset was amazing. You need to be early to find seat for the sunset view. Performance wise, it was good but a bit disappointed because I thought they will do fire dancing 😆. Performers were interacting to the audience, it was fun to watch. Beware of the monkeys!!!! Encountered naughty monkey and took my spectacles, luckily vendor near the car park gave banana so the monkey let go of my 👓. Almost cried 😄

A unique and unforgettable experience. A great opportunity to get to know the local culture better. It's very impressive to see the artists singing non-stop for almost an hour and the costumes are beautiful and full of details. Buy your tickets in advance, the 6pm option is the best to see the sunset. Arrive about 30 minutes early if you want to choose the best seats. The view of the cliff and sunset is incredible. Bali is a magical island.

The magical power when the show starts is very impressive. This show is a shame to miss. The dancers played their roles very well. Enjoy the beauty of the sunset at one of the best temples in Bali, while watching a very entertaining Kecak & Fire Dance performance.

Beautiful dance show enacting the story of Ramayana! The dancers looked quite elegant. Tip. There are two shows from 6-7 and then 7-8. For those who can bear the evening heat to view the sunset in the background of the dance 6-7 is the perfect slot else you can opt for 7-8. Highly recommend to carry an umbrella for the 6-7 timeslot just to avoid the sun during the wait time. The arena holds up to 1200 people we were told. Sit on the eastern side to get a good view of the sunset.

Great experience watching the traditional performance of the local Balinese people. Views and sunset were magical. Worth the visit. Tips: 1. Book tickets online first to skip big queues at arrival. 2. Get there for 5pm if you’re going to the 6pm show. This leaves plenty of time to get your seat and take pictures. 3. Take water and sun cream as it gets really hot while you’re sat there for at least 1.5 hours. 4. Watch out for the cheeky monkeys! Keep items close and tight to your body.

It’s a good new experience to see the story illustrated with this dance. They have two shows depending on the number of people. First one begins at 18h and you can watch the show and the sunset at the same time. The second one at 19h. The show lasts for one hour. It’s an experience to try. We have booked our tickets online so you don’t have to wait on the long line. Try to go at 17h-17h15 to get good place to sit and bring with you an umbrella to protect you from the sun before the sunset. Enjoy the show

To make the best of your visit at affordable rates, make sure to book your trip to the Uluwatu temple + kecak dance via klook. Works out the cheapest as opposed to paying the price shown there. Coming to the experience itself, you're expected to wear a sarung if you come in shorts or an orange band around the waist if you're already in a long pant / dress. There's usually 2 shows, 6pm and 7pm. No matter which show, make sure you appear 30 to 45mins prior to start time for the best seats in the amphitheatre. The experience itself was mesmerizing. The story enactment + the humor made this an amazing show to watch. Loved every bit of it!

Very very good!! The views from up there are quite amazing and nice particularly at sunset. A fee monkeys to observe as well which is always nice. Just be careful to keep lost items close to you since the monkeys will steal your stuff. But if you go you must buy tickets to with the 1 hour cultural dance. It's amazing and very entertaining!!

Kecak is a famous balinese traditional dance. It's unique because the dance is without music or gamelan. One of place you can see the show it's in the Uluwatu Temple. There is 2 show in a day at 6pm and 7pm. The show last for one hour each. Ticket @150k and 50% off for small children. It's very much entertaining. When you in Bali, don't just see the beaches, mountain, zoo, or enjoy the local foods, it's highly recommended to also experience the traditional culture like this kecak dance in Uluwatu Temple.

Must do in Bali! The sunset view is amazing. Be careful of your belongings, monkeys steal small things such as sunglasses or hat. I thought my three year old would be scared or bored but I was wrong. She enjoyed the show so much.

If you visit the Uluwatu Temple complex you cannot miss out on the Kecak performance. We visited with a guide so our tickets were purchased for us whilst we enjoyed the views. The actual theatre points west so if you get a seat early and want to see the setting sun, you'll have to put up with the light in your eyes for most of the time you wait for it. The show itself was wonderful with only vocal music and plenty of dance with some comedic touches. The seats are very uncomfortable, so if you have something soft to sit on it helps. Also, bring a hat and sunglasses. The monkeys don't come to the amphitheatre, so you'll be safe. The ushers try to fill the stands to the brim but seem to focus more on the south rather than north side stand which doesn't appear to become as busy. Worth a visit.

Fun show, lasts about an hour Ordered tickets in advance via WhatsApp/paypal I was able to buy cancellation tickets after they’d officially sold out (albeit the ticket is in someone else’s name) We had enough time to catch the sunset at the temple after the 5:45pm show

If u want to enjoy the show, pls read the story. If u wanted to enjoy the show and sunset together, make sure u watch the first show start at 6pm very crowded, long q. Beware of the “pick pockets “ . Pick pockets are those aggressive monkeys.

Was well organised and had a great view out to see. The dance was entertaining and at 1 hour in length was ideal, especially with young kids. Definitely purchase tickets online and then you don’t have to wait in line to buy tickets, there is a special line for online tickets, and nobody was in that line, the other was long and slow moving.

It was the best experience attending traditional dance performance. The dancers so attractive so we weren't bored. It was so worthy even we have to wait a long queue. Sunset view so awesome. Overall it's the one I recommend to you guys whoever wants to visit Bali.

The Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu is a mesmerizing cultural performance that should not be missed when visiting Bali. The performance takes place in the evening at the temple complex, with the ocean and cliffs providing a stunning backdrop. There are two shows daily, one starting at 6 PM and the other at 7:15 PM. It's recommended to plan ahead and arrive early, as tickets for the first show tend to sell out before 4:30 PM. The second show is usually less crowded, but still worth experiencing. The performance itself is a unique and captivating experience, with dozens of male performers chanting and dancing around a central flame. The performance tells the story of the Ramayana, one of the most famous Hindu epics, and the movements and music are choreographed to create a mesmerizing spectacle. Overall, I highly recommend the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu to anyone visiting Bali. It's a cultural experience unlike any other, set in a stunning location with a rich history. Just remember to plan ahead and arrive early to secure tickets for the first show.

Beautiful temple perched on a cliffy promontory with 270° views. A little walk and some steep steps to get to the top. A few local crafts stalls and low key restaurants just outside, in the car park. Beware of the stealing monkeys.....

Awesome cultural experience and show. I would recommend bringing something to sit on because the seating is a little uncomfortable for 45 minutes to an hour, and the arena gets packed, so once your in. Your in. But the show was very well put on. The whole experience per person was about 200,000 per person. 50,000 for the initial entrance and 150,000 for the show. Be careful about your loose belongings. There are a lot of monkeys around.
