My husband and I had an amazing 5 night stay in a One Bedroom Club Pool Villa at the beautiful Tanah Gajah Resort. We cannot speak highly enough of the peaceful location, the staff, the facilities and amenities, restaurant and all round wonder and magic of this resort. We have travelled to and lived in Bali for many years however, the Tanah Gajah is by far our favourite resort. A special mention must go to the magical experience of the omakese dinner with Chef Dean Nor - this is a must do and was absolutely world class dining. The location is just like the beautiful Bali of old - away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. You can choose a wellness holiday with the gym and spa, or one of the many activities on offer from the resort such as hot air ballooning and trekking. All the staff are wonderful and on hand at a moments notice to assist - particular mention must go to the Operations Manager Pasek who will ensure your every need is met. We highly recommend Tanah Gajah and hope to return very soon.

This is perfection! We've traveled all over the world and stayed in many wonderful hotels and resorts, but Tanah Gajah is the best place we have ever stayed, and it's not even close. The grounds are incredible, impeccably maintained, and simply gorgeous. The service is beyond wonderful, and the food is to die for. We only stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed for weeks. The location is perfect - very close to everything Ubud has to offer but feels remote and secluded. Every little detail has been thought of and is executed beautifully. I literally cannot think of a single thing that could be improved. Communication from the front desk is perfect and they were there to arrange anything we needed. I would travel all the way from our home in the US just to stay at this place again and never leave the resort without hesitation. Stop searching for any other place in Bali to stay, and book this right now. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing experience! A small list of the many positives: * The butler service was so good, they took care of us and had a funny sense of humor. * Staff were all friendly and made us very welcome. * Villa exceeded our expectations and was lovely to live in. * High Tea was free and choices were plentiful, also the flavor was good. * The ambience was superb, it felt really exclusive as the hotel only accepted low number of guests. * etc etc. Worth every penny ❤️

Wonderful hotel - we stayed here 10 years ago for our honeymoon and returned recently with our young family. The 2 bedroom family villa was beautifully presented. The waiting staff were so welcoming to our two daughters and really enjoyed dining every evening in the restaurant. The extra activities including the balloon ride, touring the paddy fields and Kecak fire dance made this a very memorable trip. We will be returning.

I took my son to Tanah Gajah for his birthday. The resort is exceeded all my expectations from the warm reception staff to my favourite chef in the world Chef Dean Nor. He is so kind and generous and always available for a chat even in his busy schedule. He cooks the most amazing food and always ready to cook any meal on request. Thank you Chef Dean for a most an unforgettable experience in Ubud.

An Enchanting Escape to Tranquility We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Tanah Gajah Resort in Ubud Bali for three unforgettable nights. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort’s charm and impeccable attention to detail. The villa we stayed in, with its private pool, was a sanctuary of serenity. We were immediately drawn to the thoughtfully designed interior, which showcased an exquisite blend of contemporary comfort and traditional Balinese elements. Every corner of the villa seemed to tell a story, with meticulously crafted details that added to the overall ambiance. One of the highlights was the secluded courtyard, where we could unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. It provided a perfect escape from the outside world, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature while relishing in complete privacy. The minibar was a delightful surprise, stocked not only with refreshing soft drinks but also an impressive selection of gin, whiskey, and rum. It was a pleasure to indulge in our favorite drinks without having to leave the comfort of our villa. The resort itself is a hidden gem, nestled amidst lush greenery and overlooking the mesmerizing rice fields. The landscaping is simply breathtaking, as if the resort seamlessly blends with the natural beauty of its surroundings. There are two other pools (one is around 25 m in length) in the middle f the resort. The culinary experiences at Tanah Gajah were nothing short of exceptional. We were thoroughly impressed with the sumptuous breakfast and dinner options. The variety of dishes catered to all tastes, and the quality was consistently outstanding. In particular, the afternoon tea was a delightful treat, with a selection of delectable small dishes that perfectly complemented the serene atmosphere. While we experienced a rainy day during our stay, it did not dampen our spirits. Instead, it added a „special twist“ to the overall experience. Watching the rain gently cascade over the rice fields from the comfort of our villa created a sense of tranquility that we will cherish forever. The Tanah Gajah Resort in UBUD Bali is a true haven for couples and families seeking a peaceful getaway. The attention to detail, the serene ambiance, and the stunning natural surroundings create an enchanting atmosphere that is truly unforgettable. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a rejuvenating and intimate retreat. Our stay here was a true delight, and we are already longing to return.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the view is beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting bali.

We stayed here for a wedding and had our accommodation paid for by the bride and groom. We stayed in a lovely villa with a pool and view of rice paddies. The room was gorgeous and well appointed, pool was great and the outdoor lounging space was great for eating breakfast. The hotel itself is so peaceful and relaxing and all the food we had was delicious. Butler staff was very helpful and accommodating including restocking our bottled water while we were out at the wedding reception so we had water to rehydrate after a night of drinking and dancing.

Easily our most favorite stay of all 5 star resorts in the land, even exceeding our expectations of the Four Seasons. This is unassumed luxury. Picturesque grounds, sumptuous amenities, warmth in service. The Kecak performance, yoga, floating breakfast, and afternoon tea were highlights of our stay. Truly a place of respite and yet so close to the jungle. Would come back to Bali just to stay here again.

Such beautiful grounds. The landscaping at Tanah Gajah is extraordinary. This property is the epitome of private and secluded. Away from the crazy, busy, relentless noise of Ubud this majestic and magical place exists. A really special place that offers an exceptional level of care and service. You will be beautifully looked after and cared for as if family. Every member of the team goes over and beyond for you. The additional extra’s (afternoon tea, yoga, spa treatments, dinner) all included in the rate are such a point of difference. The four handed massage was the best I have every experienced. The only thing that marks it down is that the rooms really need updating. They are tired and outdated. The food is also quite average and the breakfast choice very limited.

Magical Balloon Adventure at Tanah Gajah, Bali My recent trip to Bali was nothing short of a dream, with the highlight being our visit to the picturesque Tanah Gajah. Set amidst the lush rice paddies and pristine tropical surroundings, this enchanting hideaway offered a unique and unforgettable experience. One of the most mesmerizing experiences we had at Tanah Gajah was our hot air balloon ride. The adventure began elat the sunset, as we watched the crew prepare the colorful balloon for flight. As the sun began to fall, we embarked on our aerial journey. Floating gently above the verdant rice fields and the resort, we were treated to a bird's-eye view of Bali's breathtaking beauty. The stillness of the scenery, punctuated only by the occasional sound of the balloon's burners, made for a peaceful and introspective journey. In conclusion, our visit to Tanah Gajah and our hot air balloon ride were truly unforgettable experiences. The serene setting, luxurious accommodations, warm hospitality, and enchanting adventure made for a perfect vacation. I highly recommend Tanah Gajah to anyone seeking a unique and magical getaway in Bali.

We stayed here for a couple nights vacation. I believe in truth in advertising. The place is nice. And it’s ancient. Built in the 1970s, opened in 1980. Not much has changed there since then, and that was 43 years ago. If that’s what you like, you will love this place. And it’s very very peaceful, free car rides into town and they will do six pieces of laundry no charge.

The sheer beauty of this resort is astounding. That coupled with the outstanding staff that are always only too happy to assist, Tanah Gajah is truly the most relaxing resort I have ever stayed at. Nestled within the Ubud community the resort employs the locals at the resort to assist with the running and farming of the rice fields that surround the resort. The locals also assist with a Kecak dance held twice a week. The rooms are large and luxurious and feature an outdoor bathroom. More than enough water is supplied daily also with bottomless local branded spirits (vodka, gin and whisky) to sample.

Very strategic location and the hotel was HUGEEEE with a very small number of villas. You will find this hotel very peaceful and relaxing. The room is a bit classic traditional Bali, not really outdated but there is room for improvement

The place is just beuatifull. Nice garden in the middle of rice fields, quite and spacious. For short stay perfect. Closed to Ubud but due to traffic the ride can be an hour. A star down is for the restaurant. Very overpriced, not very good. Very limited breakfast offer especially for children. Paid water for BF also not ok in the 5* hotel.

Booked the Dinner + Kecak Dance, not the hotel. The ambience is amazing, staff is very kind and the dance performance was great to watch - highlight of the night. Drinks were nice, local wine was not for me, food was tasty but not remarkable. Pricey for local standards, but a nice experience.

This is my favourite place to stay in Bali. We stayed in a private pool villa and it was the perfect, tranquil escape. We loved the friendly service who went out of their way to make our stay special, the food and beautiful setting. I’d definitely recommend.

An exceptional holiday experience in Ubud. Tanah Gajah is a unique & beautiful estate surrounded by rice paddies, with extraordinary artworks and amazing Balinese sculptures scattered across the grounds. Such welcoming staff - Pacek & his team were so friendly, and their service was outstanding. Spacious & private villas, and an amazing central dining area overlooking the rice paddies. A visit to the spa for a (long) Balinese massage is a must - it will leave you feeling like you are floating. A beautiful place, so relaxing and a true Balinese experience. We'll be back.

Massive resort with acres of space, almost felt like it was a botanical gardens. Highly recommend the hot air balloon ride, the incredibly delicious omakase dinner by chef Dean (please don't miss out on this it's super super good), and feeding the doves and swans. Our little girl and baby boy thoroughly enjoyed themselves here! Breakfast was delicious as well, and afternoon tea provided a lovely view of the rice fields.

After a some intense times at work, I really needed to rest and my partner found this place. The vibe here is super relaxing. A lot of places around Ubud are a little claustrophobic, where Tanah Gajah has broad expanses of open grass, water gardens and rice paddies into the distance. The rooms are huge. Not brand new, but in good condition. What sold me was the included “extras” that are all complimentary. Afternoon tea, Yoga, laundry services, happy hour cocktails, free mini bar with spirits, seemingly unlimited bottled water (that are recycled glass). Another coffee/cocktail etc was always offered so it felt very generous. Also free shuttle into town was very handy. But ordering a car via Grab is also cheap and easy. Like a lot of Bali in the post pandemic. There needs some maintenance on very minor things here and there. I can’t blame them for putting that off when the entire island was shut down. Anything I pointed out was fixed quickly. Its quite a bespoke experience. Reception is always on whats app chat. Drinks at the pool, drivers etc are all easily sorted. I was impressed by the drivers. We arrived late and the resorts driver asked if we wanted some dinner in our villa when we arrived. Also when we went for a tour to the mountains, he brought sarongs, chilled water and cool towels. Very thoughtful. I had intended to go into yoga bars every morning, but the in house yoga instructor was so good, I did that every day and never made it to yoga barn. Restaurant and food was great. The Singaporean chef is quite charismatic and people seem to come back to the resort for him. Menu is limited, but the chef will make whatever you’d like given 24 hours notice. So just ask the day ahead. Friends we met were having Singapore chill crab the night we left. I would stay again if I come back to Ubud.

Without a doubt this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The villa had a beautiful private pool overlooking rice fields, and they had outdoor tubs as well as stunning interior bathrooms. The service was so kind, when we forgot to take out packaged leftovers home from dinner at the hotel restaurant, a service member brought it back to our villa. Truly outstanding hotel.
