UPDATE: Although they run on locals all year round, they charge locals on new years eve and give tourists free entrance. Nice place situated near Madiha beach. Has a nice view of the sea with outdoor dining and indoor space for outings, dining etc. Has enough space for parking. Nice environment and friendly staff, food is really good and byob friendly

Cool Location on the Beach with decent drinks. We loved staying here with the view on the ocean. We came in for cocktails - they were good regarding price - quality; just the service was fairly slow. It felt like one of the guys was doing most of the work.

Best place to chill with friend, family and loved ones. Beach is close to 360 madiha which is awsome. Sea food, kottu and other food experience is cool. Very budget place. Waiters are very friendly. Architecture is beautiful 😍 Environment is calm with perfect atmosphere. Can bring bottles and beer cans from outside with zero corkage. Parking space available. Perfect place to have a small party with a group of 10-20. Place is clean and tidy. Special events like cricket world cup matches, fifa world cup matches are displayed here with a projector screen. Weekend parties available based on day of the year. Perfect drinking place 🔥

Chill place to visit if you’re at Matara. Worth the drive from the city. They have parking on premises. Private beach access with open bar as well.

Lovely place to have your meal in the evening! Helpfull staff and wonderful sea view makes this place more spectacular! Been told if you have your meal in the evening time you can see sea turtles coming out on the sea shore! Food was very tasty for a very good price!

I do not understand why they charge 10% of the service fee if there is no service. We waited almost an hour for food. Cocktails stood for 15 minutes at the bar. I approached myself and asked the bartender if it was ours. He said that "probably yes, I'll bring it to you" Yes, food was delicious but I'm not ready to pay for the sweet smile of the waiter. It would be better if he did not smile, but he brought everything on time. We waited for the bill for 15 minutes. For us counted a dish that we did not order and had to find out why. 😩

I’ve been to this place couple of years back and it used to be a very good restaurant. But when i went there this time, food were high priced and did not even taste good. Even though they said that the large portion would be enough for two persons, the large portion was not enough for a kid! However, the staff was very friendly and the location looks good!

Very good place for a evening drink with some friends. Prices are reasonable based on the location and ambience. BYOB is available. You can even have a sea bath right infront. The sea is covered with a lovely coral reef making a natural sea pool. Service is also not bad. Not sure when its crowded. They have live music in Saturday nights where all Madiha is going to be very packed.

A great place to grab a bite to eat. Really good food with amazing customer service. The restaurant overlooks the beach and is a very scenic view. Highly recommend the place!

Nice place to have a meal with friends 😍. It is a bit crowded on weekends. Rice portions are a little bit larger. Had coffee cup for two. It’s 550/= and provided with milk . Enough for three cups🫶🏼

After reading other people's reviews, my wife and I decided to have dinner. My wife ordered shrimp and I ordered a chicken dish. I had to wait more than an hour for food. my wife's shrimp dish was nothing, and the chicken manis was a complete disaster. it is not possible to eat fried or stale chicken. we also order mango juice. We will ask in advance not to put ice or sugar there, which they know to do. they dilute them with water. there was more than half of the water. and the price of juice is 2.5 euros. I really don't recommend going there

The menu’s are extremely old and need to be replaced, the food took 1.5 hour to come and there was one table in front of us. The boys pasta was terrible, my chicken breast was nice but not worth going there for considering the lack of service, the lack of efficiency and the terrible trance music that was playing at 6:30pm with young kids around. Definitely needs new management. Place has so much potential.

Highly recommended for grab a snack and chat with friends / partner. Lovely place. There was a live music session when we visit this place. So many items they provide including sea foods. Quick service, friendly staff. Very beautiful at the night. Sea view, music, lights and bar area fullfill your lovely evening with a sunshine 💛💛💚💚🐟🐠🦈🐙🦐🦀🦑. Definitely we will visit again.

We spent 2 days here using the sunbeds, having lunch and drinks both days and had dinner one evening when there was live music and a barbeque. The setting is lovely with the sunbeds looking out at the nice little beach and there are good shaded seating areas. The cheese and chicken kottu was particularly good and other food we had was tasty too. Portions are fairly small but good for lunch. The downside is the service which is very slow. The waiters are friendly and willing but communication with the kitchen (across the road in the main building) seems poor, resulting in long waits for food and most drinks. Several times what we ordered was unavailable but it took 10-15 minutes after ordering for us to be told this. Then another half an hour for food to arrive. It wasn't a problem for us but it could be frustrating for anyone expecting speedy service.

Cool place close to Mirissa beach to grab a meal. Authentic architecture of the building is explicit. Seems like a renovated old house. Food seems ok and prices are fair as well.

Can bring your own bottle. Food is good and delicious. The portions size is not enough when compared to other places. 10% service charge is added to final bill. Happy with the cleanliness and service of the staff.

One of good restaurant around polhena beach, matara. Plenty options. Freshly prepared foods. Good vibe. Recommended

We sat on the beach bar side - tried a few dishes and overall everything was good BBQ tuna was a bit over cooked, club salad was very small, baked potato was tiny but tasty, whole red mullet was delicious and the wattalapam was fabulous!

Great spot for lunch. Coconut sambol, egg & cheese sandwich was great! Really good chips. Fried rice was nice too. & friendly staff!

Came hungry, left hungry. I ordered the vegetable salad which, according to the menu, consists of boiled vegetables with pineapple. They didn't have any pineapple at that moment, which was fine, but the salad was nowhere near the menu description. I got a ridiculously small plate with loads of onions, olives, 3 strings of tomato, some cucumber, carrot and capsicum for 1200 rupees. Maybe the other dishes are better, I don't know. I had to go to another place right after for a proper lunch. The guy working there was really cool tho!

I am not a fussy eater and do not have high expectations of restaurants, but this was not a good experience. Waited an hour for food to arrive despite the place being 20% full and being told it would take 30 minutes. Food was poor quality when it did arrive (possibly because we ordered western food.. though that is half their menu). They ran out of beer at 9pm on a Wednesday. Played loud techno music in restaurant. Positives 1. The outside area is very nice spot if you just want to sit and have a drink (if they have some left), but I’d stay well clear for food. Lots of nice places moments away. 2. They take card

The food was good. But not satisfy with the chicken and cheese kottu ordered. Couldn’t find chicken at all. Had to face a awkward situation since the card payments was not working at that time.

My husband, w kids and I went there for lunch after it has been recommended to us by our guide. We ordered pasta, seafood and rice in addition to juices. All the juices were so diluted that the taste of the fruit was lost. The food was not edible. The tomato sauce of the pasta was not even cooked, it tasted extremely acidic and sour. The seafood were literally burned out. When we told the waiter about the juices, he said no one complained about it. The rice tasted good but wasn’t cooked enough. Absolutely terrible experience!!

Portions are very big, prices are so yummy and the food is even better 🤤 It was the best seafood (saffron) soup on the island! And it was NOT spicy, thanks God🥳 And this devilled fish omg it tastes like a meat 😍 I definitely love and recommend this place 💜🙏
