Pet V Care lacks service standards and professionalism and, I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy after the trauma we had to undergo. To briefly recount our ordeal, on 14th May 2022, I along with my son went over to Pet V Care to hand over his 4-month-old kitten named Hopsy for an operation. As it was an operation, the doctor in charge requested us to leave the kitten overnight with them as there would not be enough time to complete the operation and to observe her after the operation was completed. Further that evening curfew was being imposed at 2.00 p.m. The following day I called and inquired if the operation had been completed and whether the kitten could be collected. Upon receiving an answer in the affirmative, we proceeded to collect her. At this stage we were not informed by any of the Doctors that Hopsy had gone missing. Isn't this the responsibility of the veterinary assistant to check about the condition of the kitten? Upon arrival at Pet V care, we were kept in the reception for about half an hour. During this time, I inquired from the receptionist whether the operation was done. Again, this was confirmed. It was then that one of the Veterinary assistants came up to me and requested to speak to me alone. What he said shocked me ……. He said “ Sir, the kitten she has escaped and that she is no longer in their possession. Please give us (Pet V Care) three days to find her”. It then transpired that the cage where she was kept wasn’t locked /closed properly and she had gone missing! Even at this time no senior person from Pet V Care was willing to give us a proper explanation as to what had really happened. It's only later on that one of the Doctors came and gave a lame excuse that the cage wasn't locked properly. This is sheer negligence and lack of basic responsibility on the part of Pet V Care, which cannot in any manner be condoned. It’s indeed disappointing that after being customers of Pet V Care for over ten years their service levels should deteriorate to such low levels. It’s now one week since this occurred and all the mischievous things she used to do are still fresh in our minds; and it is with a heavy heart I believe that we will not see Hopsy again. My son was inconsolable and in fact refused to consume any food until one of his teacher's advised him. We still do not know whether Hopsy is alive or not, whether she obtains food to eat? The hospital has not been transparent as to what really happened to her. Can a kitten, who is after an operation and who has been given anesthesia, escape from her cage and simply vanish?? What really happened to Hopsy? My fervent wish to all animal lovers is not to take your beloved pets to Pet V Care for any treatment.

Generally good care is given and the service is good

It is OK if your pet does not have major issues. Our pet a senior dog was misdiagnosed and it nearly cost his life. Luckily we got a second opinion and medication was changed. Considering this don't think we will go there ever again.

A waste of time and money. The clinic had me and my very sick dog stand in queue for 20 minutes at the reception desk only to then escort us to a VERY small room full of 6 agitated cats and dogs. We then proceeded to be in that room for another 15 minutes before the two very overworked doctors even looked our way. Once one of the doctors did, she proceeded to do a very rushed examination of my dog to identify is was gastritis. Later, upon another examination from our trusted doctor, who was unavailable before, it was diagnose to be the flu, which gave him gastritis. My dog’s condition worsened because of the time it took to identify it. I called back the day after asking for results of the blood report done. The receptionist shared with me a blurry, unreadable report. When I tried desperately to contact him and have him share with me the digital report, he cut my calls and let my call ring with no end. Would suggest against going to this clinic, as it is a big waste of money and TIME!

Took my kitten to the vet, good service, and they know how to handle pets very well. They have a good pet accessories store as well. Great place to get your cat or dog vaccinated.

My cat has had a tragic dreadful accident, where his jaw was broken in 4 places and the tongue ws cut into 3 pieces n barely hanging off the mouth :( he has lost lot of blood and was in unbearable pain. And this has happened in the late night, and most of the vet clinics in colombo are closed and the few which were open were asking ridiculous Registration fee as high as 10k and another plc 6k to take the cat in. And when we calld PetsVcare they asked us to bring the cat and in and it was around 10pm and they had a close look and given him emergency treatment and pain killers and settled him, and took him to surgery early next morn. And the good surgeon who did the surgery and was able to fix his broken jaw and stitch the tongue was a miracle doctor. 🙏 It took abt 2 weeks to heal his wounds and now hez back to normal. His handsome face is kinda look odd now, but he has recovered well from his grave wounds Thanks to the amazing staff at PetsVcare. Thanks again.

I took my cats for treatment. There are too many staffs working here. But not a single person came up to hold the cats, to vaccinate them or to give them saline. They asked us to hold them ourselves and they were standing around the table gossiping, joking, and laughing. Even the doctors were highly focused on filling the cash counter by congesting the treatment room and asking the staffs to take most of the customers inside the treatment room, but they were not giving proper individual attention or care to the animals inside first. If im not mistaken they have two treatment rooms which they can easily utilize to seperately treat one room for dogs and the other one for cats, but instead they kept filling a single room with so many animals/customers inside (in which some are having viral flue/infections which could be easily transmitted to the others). As im running a farm i know the cost of most of these medicines. They are exorbitantly priced and even the other charges, other than the medicine or treatment were also comparitively too high. Even though we go to such a place, at the least expecting for a good service plus proper treatment, kind care and attention to our animals, which was not given. Highly disappointed with their unprofessional service.

This veterinarian place is are so much expensive the charge’s ,ho having pet as we was look same family member ,saddly get my dog fitz ,we bring to here coz why the place is near to us,emergency time like that chrging for dog like this its not

This place is ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE in terms of service and professionalism. I'm convinced these other "5 star" reviews have been made as requests from the staff for a good review, or they are from customers who didn't need any serious care for their pets. There are not enough bad words in the English language to describe how backward and retarded the staff simply are, from the doctors to the support staff. They do not have the discipline, and quite comically, the mental strength, to calm down a tiny dog before an X-ray - which is 101 if you're in animal care. Trust me, we have been to many other vets and animal hospitals to know the difference. We had no choice but to visit this place cos it's the only one that offered a barium meal X-ray. Taking our dog there wasn't easy. And they happily wasted both our time and money. And our dog did not receive the x-ray she needed, cos the poor staff "was scared" to handle a small dog. But hey! We got charged for it though. They had x-rayed the wrong part!

If anyone wants to trim your pets hair, just come here and have a unique and satisfied service. The caregiver was so friendly with my puppy and done his work properly.

Not Recommended at all if you have an elderly dog with serious conditions. The reports they gave were all wrong my dog was yellow and the doctor who checked my dog said he was not yellow. On the next day his whole body was yellow. He lost his life and they didn’t properly checked my dogs nor the reports. I don’t want to mention the doctors name but refrain from doing such things. My dog must be a just another dog for you all But for us he was the whole life. One day when you die you will remember all what you did for these innocent souls. Karma comes back. Kindly do not take your senior dog or a dog with serious issues there

Pretty terrible place. Injected my cat with an antibiotic and she developed a large ulcer at the site of injection. Right now she is struggling to heal. There is a descent chance that she might die because of this. Don’t take your animal there despite the ratings they have.

As much as they happen to be professional and kind they lack in the bird sector, 27.09.2021 I took my bird suspecting a certain threat to which the doctor upon examining said she was alright and that she was free from the threat. I took my bird home and in less than 7 hours she died, from exactly what I had suspected. So if you have a bird I recommend staying as far away as possible from them.

Good hospital for pets. One suggestion from me is to manage a whatsapp contact number so clients can reach out faster and easier.

NOT RECOMMENDED I was visiting this place for the past 06 years. They were very good when they were at their previous location BUT not now. I wouldn't take my pets there in the future.

Lovely atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff, been there a few times with my rabbit... They took care of him well... I would definitely be going there .. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being expensive) I would say they are a 6....

This place is garbage and they dont care about ur pet at all, please do not take ur pet here its absolute trash. These 5 star reviews are made by people who didnt need serious care. If u love ur pet dont take them here for heavens sake this is the last place u wanna go

Doctors and staff are really helpful. They are treating animals at their best. So far this is the best place I have tried in Colombo. Dr Surangi is always given her best care during the treatment and by phone as well.

Well really dont know whether they market different brands I went to restock my pets suppliments but non was available not even a substitute was recommended by the sales guy. Pretty lethargic environment.

I called them and wanted to take my dog who is in quite a critical condition. The person who answered the phone kept on telling me not to bring the dog because it was 6pm and they close at 7pm. He said that the the Dr can have a look at the dog, but since they will be in a hurry to go home they might not do such a good job. So bringing the dog tomorrow morning might be best. What a load of rubbish!! Really expected a lot more. I would send the operator to a crash course on customer service..

Dr. To attend as it's a poya day ! Even though the concerned plàces mentioned above areas - they got 24 hours service on the Google check. Very good for emergencies, surgeries. Staff and Doctors are always kind to the dogs. Mobile service is available for the dogs who cannot go to the hospital for treatment. only negative part is can not use the mobile service for an emergency. but can book for days ahead. all pet needs are available in one place. (food, accessories, scan, blood tests, x-rays …) always clean.

I am extremely disappointed in PetsVcare. I went to them with my 8 month old kitty and while they looked like they knew what they were doing, they clearly don't. My kitty died a week after visiting them four days in a row when they finally said he is better. PetsVcare charges high rates, so we expect our cats to become well and then stay well. This is not the first time. Nearly ten years ago, they lost my first cat's kittens right after birth. Then a few years later, my family went with another cat who had eye issues and had trouble breathing. Again they did all kinds of tests but the cat did not survive. We gave PetsVcare so many chances because we always wanted to give the best to my family's cats. But PetsVcare sucks. Not going to make the same mistake of visiting them again.

My first experience at the place: the doctor was really nice! Very kind, and you could ask anything from them. They register you as a customer on their system on your first visit. Very pleasing and comforting staff.

Although a good institution provides a kind service, I think it would be good to re-examine your blood test reports and feel that there is some kind of error. The reason is my feeling that not all dogs have microfilariae. Tests conducted elsewhere have not reported such a thing !

I brought my pet due to issues of loose motion and fever. Despite being accustomed to medical examinations without distress, the staff here who are doing cleaning procedures there the ones check fever of my pet😡 This resulted in unnecessary suffering, and I cannot recommend this facility. Doctor’s must do this.

Took a severely injured kitten yesterday, kitten died due to her injuries but the doctors and staff tried their best to keep her alive. They were helpful and clearly explained the severity of the injuries and the procedures to be taken at that time.

The best animal hospital. All the doctors are very good. Dr Sumith Wanniarachchi, Dr Lasantha, Dr Janaki, Dr Chathuranga, Dr Dananjaya treated my Shelly girl really well. All the doctors are very qualified and very kind. Specially Dr. Lasantha Perera. He guided me how to look after my Shelly girl because she was a critical cancer patient.
