I attempted to find somewhere on google to leave review for Hostel, but only found this. This review is for The Sheridan Hostel which is owned and operated by the same company and is across the street from Sheridan Guesthouse. First the Pros: albeit very few; The price was unbeatable. The room was very clean. The grounds were well maintained. Location to the beach was about 1.5 miles and many eateries in the area. Local transportation is also easily accessible. The Cons: This place needs to have some sort of common sense when screening the types of people they are renting to. It is a drug users and dealers paradise. This is not an overstatement. Many of the guests staying here were getting high 24/7. They would then nod off on the lounge chairs in the garden/fountain area. All hours of the night people were in and out of the room i was sharing, which if they had actually stayed in that room would not have bothered me, but they were there to wake up the "Dealer of the Hostel". The gate with an electronic combination lock does no good when people who aren't staying at the hostel have the code. During a 4 night visit, the local sheriff's dept. had come by. 3 times, and you should see all the people run inside. On my second night here, one of the guests lost his temper and literally punched a glass table top, shattering the glass. This guest was never asked to leave the property. Makes me question safety. In the pros I said the price was unbeatable, but the hidden fees get you. A one time lock fee and a daily parking fee will be added on at check-in. Do not question staff or bring an issue to their attention as they will find a very condescending way to respond.

The owner was working the night shift, everything as promised. A shared environment, so depending on the roommates and room, your experience varies. I had a great room with good mates, so I had an excellent stay. Will return. Update: Second visit, same good experience, a great bed in a cool room, all issues corrected by staff

Extremely poor customer service! Their online pricing is misleading just to get you to call! The $50.00 price is sharing a room with 6 other ppl not a private room.. the man was rather rude on the phone so I would not stay where ppl are rude & not helpful!

I have stayed here several times as I travel to the area for work. Every time I stay here it is great. Things that you need to keep in mind are; this is a hostel, not a hotel, so you will have roommates. It is all shared spaces, and the staff here tries to accommodate each person the best they can. Which brings me to the staff. They are very pleasant and welcoming. Always willing to try and help you and give you the best rate. Each room is different, so depending on which room you get it may be a little smaller than others. The beds are comfortable and you will receive linens and towels when you check in. They do have lockers and locks, which you pay $5 for upon check in. Also, keep in mind that if you have a vehicle, there is a parking fee. All in all, as long as you know what you are paying for, you will enjoy your stay here.

For the price, it's really not bad. Hostels need to be more prevalent in the US, even if they're essentially just shacks with bunk beds in them like this one. The grounds are actually pretty quaint and lively, but because most of the other guests seem to be drifters, it didn't feel very safe despite the coded outside gate, coded door to the room, and the padlocked lockers. Don't get me wrong, they were all very interesting and friendly characters, I'd just rather chat with them at a bar than sleep just a couple feet away from them. Also, this place was lacking in cleanliness. There was some gross snot-looking stain on the edge of my bed sheet and the cleaning lady barged in at some awkward hour in the late afternoon and drenched the room with Clorox. But yeah, it's decent enough if you need a cheap bed for the night.

This is a halfway house for prisoners. Not safe for families or women. DO NOT stay here. Also, they ripped us off with pricing. I am updating my review in response to Mike Zs comments below. We were never kicked out of this flop house. Our family left in the morning for the airport as planned, but quickly, looking over our shoulders, and locking everything. So the response below tells you exactly what the management is like. Also, I note the padded reviews as well. The night we were there we walked out of our room to the outdoor furniture which was full of doped out ex cons. So add a bunch of men in variable states of dress sleeping in all of the outdoor furniture to the photo. We were just grateful that our car windows weren't busted out.

Absolutely terrible service. Our checkin took over an hour for 3 rooms booked well in advanced for a team working an event beachside. Our rooms were terrible and disgusting. Our shower head sprayed straight towards the wall and flooded the bathroom. There is a timer on the bathroom light which only allows 10 minutes of light at a time. Our rooms smelled so terrible. They advertised full kitchenettes and we had a two burner hot plate to plug in and one fork as our silverware During the last days of the events I had my father and kids come to see us and the hotel kicked me out for having guests come to my room. They do not allow guests to visit and this was not told to us. After I signed registration and waiver they told me I was not allowed to use the room for my last two nights paid for. Prior to that we had many issues with guests smoking weed all over the property and at the pool to where we could not use it and the office allowed it without correcting anyone. I would recommend no one to ever stay here. Absolutely the worst service by the russian mob who runs it. Also, it's in the middle of the ghetto.

I made a reservation and paid for it. I carry my service dog, a Weimeraner of 30 lbs. Upon arrival i was denied entrance because their rules wouldnt let dogs enter if over 15 lbs. Their ads stated “pet friendly “ but wasn’t specific of the pet weight limitations. I believe corrections should be made to the hotel information. Very bad experience.

Place is extremely dirty . If you are international travels please be aware that this place is for homeless shelter and a lot off heavy drug users. They have poor hospitality service . If you not happy about anything anytime they call a police on you and remove you from property and keep your money . Because they know it’s a civil matter and police won’t do anything .. Dirty and shady place ..

The place looks nice. The garden area is very nice. I like the door code system rather than taking deposits for keys. The location is good a little walk to the sea 🌊 but close to big amenities such as food. The staff where helpfull and friendly. The place is also air-conditioned so cool indoors.

Very clean and the price is good, there is security cameras all around as well as locking gates and lockers so it is safe. The price is unbeatable and the bus goes right to and from airport

Stellar location, it was so close to everywhere I needed to be. My only problem was that the fire alarm was chirping from the battery being low and that my pillow cases were stained. Felt like I was in my own little area because I received one of the studio rentals. Plenty of locks to use and if you were still unsure, the chairs fit under the lock just fine.

I had a wonderful time with the Sheridan Guest House. The staff was very kind and respectful. Our receptionist even called to let us know that our room was ready. The room was wonderful. Very clean with all the essentials stocked. The only negative thing I could say is that the TV had an annoying function that talked whenever you pushed any button. Though, honestly, my sister and I spent most of our time out. So, it wasn't really a big deal. The property is very nice, well maintained, and very peaceful. Next time we come to Ft. Lauderdale I think we will stay here again. Wish we had stayed more than one night. Благодарю вас, всё отлично, пока!

I am Highly recommended Sheridan Guesthouse!!! Very good value for money. Very well maintained and beautiful place with fountain, with TV room, and with laundry. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our studio was clean, with fresh linens and towels. The kitchen was fully equipped. Top Location, near to Fort Lauderdale airport, Supermarkets, restaurants and bank. Sheridan Guesthouse is all you need to good and save stay.

Sorry Dirty outdated furniture. Owner was nice but this place has old stained furniture, old run down toilet, and tub was nasty.

If I could give a 0 star I would. They refused to let me check in, cuz I have a medical service dog. They wanted me to pay a $300 deposit. Also refused to refund my money.

This was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. The service is horrible. I called and was hung up on for no reason. They cursed me out on the phone and did not want to assist me with getting a room or any information. DO NOT BOOK EVER.

Beautiful green area, but not huge, but quite suitable for relaxing and spending time. Quiet - which is important, the rooms are air-conditioned. The managers are wonderful guys, we liked everything, the combination of price-quality-location is super!!
