😠 This review is about the youth Basketball leagues. This is my son's second season playing and all I can say is that it's all about favoritism and winning. Players with less skills are benched most of the game, get little play, while we're paying plenty of money for the season as well as our monthly... People often mention kids, staff, great, time, membership, YMCA, classes, love, programs, workout,

This review is about the youth Basketball leagues. This is my son's second season playing and all I can say is that it's all about favoritism and winning. Players with less skills are benched most of the game, get little play, while we're paying plenty of money for the season as well as our monthly dues. I noticed this in the first season when the coach used the same 2 players ALL game long, while my son and others were benched the majority of the time. I understand my son isn't the best, however, this is the reason why I have him enrolled so that he can get his practice in before starting high school and trying out for the Basketball team which is his goal. Another complaint is that the coaches make fun of the kids and embarrass them......with demeaning comments which I won't even write on here. I thought the YMCA was about families and making people feel good? Not making kids feel like they're less than. Every Saturday morning it's the same thing. Today, my son played a TOTAL of 4 minutes! This is completely unacceptable! I know I'm not the only parent that feels this way.

This rating is for the volleyball program at the Y in Pembroke Pines. If your kid is a beginner this is not the place for your child, even though it says beginner league. It should be emphasized to the coaches to ensure equal playing time, which is not the case. Coaches play favoritism and kids do not learn much. I reached out to the staff about the issues, but nothing gets done. Practice and games are very disorganized. I seen to many close calls were kids run into each other very unsafe environment. Don’t waste your time and money with these programs, way better programs in the area at half the price.

Love the Y. The workout facility is second to none, the aerobic classes are awesome, and the staff are very friendly. They also offer aftercare services, and a place to watch your little ones, while you get your workout. It's just great. Love the Y!

My girls are always so sad when I tell them we are going to the gym. I wish they felt more comfortable in the kids zone. The staff is not warm and comforting. It would be so nice if they would hire a staff that enjoys the company of children.

Be in the know: they will still charge you for the monthly if you don't cancel 15 days prior the date they draft your account. Also, they make it so inconvenient to cancel, you have to physically walk into the facility to cancel. They probably get a full month of payment from every member who cancels this way. So, before you sign up remember to include the 15 day period and walking into the physical location into your exit strategy.

I love that camp has early drop off and late pickup to accommodate working parents. My daughter seems to really enjoy camp, and she makes lots of new friends each time she attends!

I like the gym, but their aftercare programs lacks experienced staff, proper child supervisors, resources, and transparency. This program could work for kids who don't require much supervision, but I don't recommend it if you have younger kids. My son, who is in Kindergarten, attended the program for three months and was very dissatisfied with the quality of care: 1- When you join the YMC aftercare, they will tell you they group kids based on their age, but the truth is they combine the kids most of the time and are over the child-to-staff ratio. My son was in the Pembroke Pines location had over 75 kids and four staff (2 of them supervisors), and sometimes they will be running the programs with less staff since most of the counselors are attending college. This shows in the lack of supervision and experience. My son started experiencing bullying and instead of addressing the situation this continued to escalate, until I had to take him out. 2- The program director, Karla, is very friendly & accessible when you sign up, but she will be challenging to get on hold when you start having issues because she doesn't have the time. She is responsible for managing ALL the YMC aftercare programs in Broward plus managing the PP Family Center. This is why she is so difficult to get on hold, and her staffs are having a hard time too (the programs lacks direction). 3- Lots of safety concerns with their outdoor play area and the staff takes a lot of time fixing issues that require inmediate attention. For example, for a over a month, there were bricks discarded all over the playground and all they did was restrict the area by using a “caution" tape.

My wife and I love Zumba with Blanca, Gabi, and Elka. The facilities are excellent and the staff are very friendly. We joined YMCA of South Florida one year ago and we're so glad we did. Our aerobic conditioning, flexibility, balance, stamina, and core strength have all improved markedly.

Disappointing to see the YMCA using unethical practices like other shady gyms to bill families even after cancelling our membership in person. We moved out of state and went in advance to make arrangements and had our last month pro-rated. Then they reverted to billing us the full cost of membership and refuse to give us answers or return our calls. This has been going on for months and is incredibly frustrating/unprofessional. We filed a dispute with our credit card company and they are helping us out but it was incredibly disappointing. We have yet to receive a single call from the membership coordinator. I would not recommend a membership to family or friends who live in the area and absolutely would not go back to the y.

Love their facility and it beats LA fitness easily. Clean machines. Not overcrowded. Decent people. Good machines and you don’t have to hope it works properly like at LA fitness.

Exercise classes for seniors with instructors like Alina Mercado who shows compassion and caring for her clients. She imparts her knowledge to help us do and feel better. She is a gem.

I really enjoy going to Pembroke Pines YMCA Family Center. The warm and friendly staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are professional and experienced trainers that do a great job to motivate you to help you achieve your fitness goals. The center possesses a of variety of different machines to workout just about any part of your body. The workout areas are very clean and constantly being maintained by the staff. The center offers a plethora of training activities for almost every age group. The basketball facility is first class.

Sometimes I workout for only 3 days a week and I'd rather do it everyday all day. And really when I'm not in a mood to workout I'd rather meditate because its good for your breathing and for working all the Muscles.

Today my husband went to drop off our kids for the "teacher planning day camp", which we paid months ago in order to secure we had someone to watch our kids. YMCA staff turned him away! My husband and I both work which is why we needed the child care for our 2 kids. They stated "they did not have enough people register so they had to cancel". There was never a call or any form of communication!!! We also have not received our money back for the services they did not provide us! There were other families trying to drop off their kids as well. Total disorganization and complete disrespect to the families that had arranged this service and were not notified. A simple call goes a long way. We could have gotten alternative child care had we been given a heads up. Very disappointed and considering canceling our membership.

Where do I start. Signed up for pool access February 2022 went in February 24 2022 to cancel. Signed pad to cancel membership was for $20 monthly fast forward to may 2023 I found out YMCA was charging my card $40 every month since February 2022. I just had to hire a lawyer to get refunded for the money they stole from me over a year. Not to mention I was told it would be $20 monthly which I have a email to confirm but I was charged $40 monthly and they even verified that the membership card was not scanned since February 2022. Spoke with a manager by the name of kelvin who was no help at all. I would never recommend YMCA ever. Worse experience I have ever had. Do not put your card on file they will change the amount and charge you after you cancel membership and refuse to refund you.

Dont bother calling 954 number listed to get info or make an appt in Pembroke Pines. It goes directly to a Corporate call center who wont connect you and tells you have to go into the facility. Whats the point ???

I love the classes, ease of signing up, the multiple locations, the kid zones, pools, but I do not like that the "Family Activities" seem to be non existent. They are promoted on the website for all locations with "buttons" of types of Family Activities such as "PM Kids Party" and other "programs" but those buttons to do not actually link to any information. I called about those activities and was told that the website must not be finished and to ask at my Y. I asked at my local Y about it at the counter and they also did not know what those would entail. They had no information. So all I can do with my kids is drop them at the kids zone and I was hoping we could do things together with other families socially.

The equipment is modern and well maintained. I love that I can sync my Apple Watch to the treadmill. There is always room to work out. Everyone is respectful of the equipment and of keeping it clean and put away their weights after their work out. I love the group classes and my daughter loves the kids zone. The staff has been extremely kind with my entire family as well. I wish I had joined earlier!

This is by far the best gym I’ve gone too. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is energetic but also relaxed. You never feel judged and you enjoy the workout. The machines are great and well maintained. Although, it would be good to have an unlimited buddy pass for the price of the membership. Other than that, it’s great!
