Not the best LA Fitness I've been too.. front desk could care less if you come in or out or who you bring... usually not very clean and there's always weights all over the gym scattered, they should really enforce people who use free weights to put them back. If one of your machines are broken it'll take a month to fix by the way. For the price you pay you expect a higher quality experience at the gym. Edit: Dropped to a one star, I don't have anything positive to say about this place anymore.

The newly installed floors are better than the carpets you use to smell when you walked in. The gym is still dirty or unkempt though, as seen in the photos I posted. Machines probably haven’t been serviced in years… hinges appear grimy and many don’t move smoothly. Today I was using one of the pectoral fly machines and one side clearly moved smoother than the other. Overtime, if I continued to use this machine I imagine one side of my chest would get bigger than another. The culture of the gym is to leave your weights all over the place so you often have to go on a hunt to find what you’re looking for. On top of it all, I’m surprised that the price point of this gym is higher than the alternatives (within 5-6 miles away) which have better equipment and are nicer nicer. As for me, I’ll be moving on as soon as my membership expires

This is an absolutely awful establishment. It's dirty and the equipment is old. I've been a member for 20 years at this location. Recently, I've only stuck around because I like one of their Zumba classes. Noticed today that they have been charging me an additional $10 childcare fee for years and my kids are 20 and 17. They told me I never canceled it, when it was canceled years ago. What a scam! The people that work in this place are disengaged and rude. Adolpho told me they sent me an email in 2021 (that likely went to spam) that reopened this "frozen" account. What a joke, no offer to make this right at all knowing my child hasn't been into their childcare center in at least 10 years. Canceled my family membership and will never be back. Horrible place!

I have been a LA Fitness customer for several years here and other States (CT) this one here in Pembroke Pines on18445 Pines Blvd. is not very clean, I wrote a review one year ago about the showers being filthy, with mold, one shower on the far left the nozzle is broken and a year later those showers are still in horrible condition. My biggest issue is that there’s a male employee that my Wife told me he cleans the female locker room, he enters without warning, I have major concerns with this, I personally watch this man as he’s walking around the gym lustfully leering at the women of all age’s especially the young females.👮🏾‍♂️

Honestly the worst la fitness I’ve been to. The employee in the front could care less who walks in. The weights and dumbbells are everywhere. Nothing is in the correct place. I have to go searching for a dumbbell but couldn’t find the pounds I needed. This gym definitely needs more attention by management. Not worth it

This has to be the filthiest gym I have been to. There was piles of dust on all the free weight equipment, trash on the floor, chalk all over. Members don’t re rack their weights or clean the machines before and after each use. If you care anything about cleanliness do not attend this gym. Saunas are disgusting!!! The same out of order signs have been posted for the last 3 months. I did not see one staff member attempt to clean up or even care. Management needs to seriously look into this. I feel disgusting leaving this place!!!

me and my brother are leaving for school in 3 days so we wanted somewhere we can just workout for a little or maybe switch over if we liked it. So when we walked in I asked the girl sitting in the front desk if we can just scan the guest passes and she said yes but her manager or whatever he was rudely said no and came over to us asking us for ID and as I was going to grab mine from the car but then my brother mention that we will be leaving for school in a little and he immediately said that the free guest pass is only for locals. We tried to explain that we live here we just go to school somewhere else but he wouldn’t hear it and we had to leave. He said he would allow us to work out if we payed 75 dollars. I understand it’s a business but what is he losing by allowing 2 people to work out for 2 hours when we took the correct steps by signing up for the free workout?

I highly recommend you don't join this gym. I've been going to gym's for year and this L.A. Fitness is about as bad as it gets. I've been to about 10 different L.A. Fitness's and this doesn't even come close to resembling your average L.A. Fitness. The front desk never greets guest and the employee are usually on their phones or just talking to each other with their backs to you. This gym is always very dirty and it smells in the bathrooms. Weights are all over the place which means you spend a lot of time trying to find the weights you are looking for. A lot of the free weights and dumbbell are left not even in the weight lifting area. There is always several machines that do not work and are out of service. You never see employees walking through the gym or putting weights back and they don't tell members to put their weights back. Complaining to Management is a waste of time because they really don't care. Believe me you do not want to be a member of this gym.

Unfortunately all of us pay our gym subscription fees and regardless they don’t fix the machines and they put duct tape on the seat pads and back pads. The duct tape adhesive will ruin your clothing and they are not going to reimburse you. With all the new options opening locally thankfully LA fitness is no longer one you have to use. Lots of new gyms with lots of great deals seems like LA is definitely lacking in their maintenance and cleanliness. All the money they make every single month from everyone of their members and they can’t even maintain the machines and end up staying broke for 6 to 7 months or more. The front desk staff sit on their phones and watch movies or their iPads and don’t even look up when you walk in as if they don’t need to be there since they don’t really do anything. Instead of having two people sit at the front desk they should use those salaries to buy new pads on their gym equipment and fix their leg machines.

This gym has really gone down hill. Bunch of teenagers running the front desk, never say hi or bye, no customer service. Watch other teenagers just walk in daily without checking in because no one even bothers to look up. Because of this it’s beyond packed. I honestly feel like it’s a high-school gym. Seeing 5-6 kids all waiting by one machine that you won’t be able to use for a while because they’re talking. Sooooo frustrating

I recently moved from Orlando to South Florida. I had great experiences with the LA Fitness's and Esportas up there, but that is not the case down here. Weights are left around everywhere and many times people don't wipe down benches - deeply atrocious gym culture. A lot of machines are very old, out of repair, and/or very dirty looking. I had to cancel my membership because I hate working out at this location, which is the closest to where I live - though given all the other reviews I'm sure LA Fitness is going to make that cancellation a hassle.

Like all gyms, it's nearly impossible to cancel the gym membership. They make you jump through so many hoops just to get it done. Other than that it would be a good gym if there wasn't so many people. The after work rush (post 5pm) is extreme. The morning group (6am) isn't much better. If you plan on weight lifting plan on waiting for the machine. If you're doing cardio it's pretty easy to get a treadmill or elliptical. Other than being packed, many of the members do not put weights back. Bathroom, sauna, pool, and hot tub are alright.

Definitely receptive to criticism regarding the facility cleanliness. Cleaning started quickly after I expressed displeasure with level of cleanliness. Pool needs chlorine though. It’s disgusting. Also, the sauna floor needs a dose of scrubbing bubbles.

It’s a good gym but it eats up your money and it takes a lot of work to cancel the membership. The person that was making my membership lied to me saying that I will get a full refund if I cancel before a certain date and that I had to get the membership that day because the next day it would increase in price (that was also a lie). So just be careful and read everything and take your time, don’t let them pressure you into getting the membership right at that moment.

I have visit 2 different LA fitness here in Florida and both are really rundown and old. The machines are super old, rusty and dirty. Very disappointed, with all the money LA Fitness has they should have better up to date machines and someone to be placing the weights back. I know it’s the members responsibility but if they are not doing it have someone to help out. Also, there are not enough weights it’s super hard to find weights wether is dumbbells or discs smh LA Fitness!

Writing this review as the gentleman standing in front of the check-in desk encouraged me to today. He told me it was an easy and quick process and to rate this gym five stars (I thought for the first time I was going to be greeted and told about the awesome food stations they had showcased - Bolay was there and another restaurant). I didn’t think that was fair assessment and obviously would not would be valuable to the business if I didn’t say the truth. I look forward to going to the gym every Monday and Thursday to do spinning with Em. She has great energy and makes an effort to really connect with those who come to her class. She deserves five stars but not the gym. About two weeks ago, my mom and I decided to go for a later spinning class (Wednesday at 6:45) which had a substitute assigned. We don’t typically go late but broke our routine to try the sub instructor. Sadly, she never showed up and I had to let the front desk know 15 minutes later. The gentleman literally did not have any sense of urgency or care to even tell the class. I had to let him know there was people in the room waiting and the least he could do was tell them she was not showing up. Overall, the gym is not clean. When I’ve done the machines and I look down at the floor, it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days. Oh it would be nice if they also played FOX news and not only CNN. This is my true and honest review. I go to this gym for Em’s class and that’s it. The gym should really improve on cleanliness and customer service - I don’t think I’ve ever been greeted since I signed up in October.

This is, without a doubt. the worst gym I’ve ever been to. I’ve gone to multiple LA Fitness locations, and it feels like this location goes out of its way to be as horrendous as it is. It’s actually astonishing. There is no redeeming qualities with the exception of the cafe inside which is really good.

The sales counselor Christian hits on my girlfriend all the time & she cheated on me with him. He's the short but really strong worker that is always there lifting in uniform or off the clock. You need to keep your girlfriend or wife away from Christian because he will take her

This gym has a lot of unfulfilled potential. It’s got the space and with the amount of people that are signed up, it’s got the money to make the changes. The gym lacks direction from a management and staffing standpoint. The staff is rarely seen around, instead they have 4-5 people always hovering around the front desk instead of helping around and picking up the gym or at least enforcing some sort of cleanliness/order. The fees and cancellation policies are restrictive and “hidden” so a lot of people would be caught of guard. This business practice just makes it less likely to trust the gym and staff. Overall, it’s a place to workout with all the necessary equipment but be mindful and read the terms before you sign and don’t expect excellent service.

a typical gym, but being LA fitness you would think the gym would be more up to date. every machine is rusted somewhere, basically on their last legs. floors could also be updated to look less dirty. not too crowded, front desk & staff is super nice & helpful. also as an LA fitness, don’t get why the pool is closed indefinitely. many people pay for access to such areas, so hope that is situated soon. overall, good staff, good vibes, spacious gym, outdated / old equipment

I've been a member for over 15 years, and I recently had an unfortunate experience with Manager Diego at this club. I visited for a smoothie and to check on my newly renewed membership. To my disappointment, Manager Diego's attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional. His behavior was so disrespectful that one of the employees felt the need to apologize on his behalf. This incident was a clear demonstration of poor management, setting a very bad example for the club.

Gym Is OK. A lot of the machines that need repair, it takes weeks to months for them to fix them. Dumbbells are all over the place but I understand is the people but they should have employees going around every couple of hours or so to put them back. Cleanness… still lots to be improved. Is just fine I guess

The facility look good and it's very spacious. However, machines are too rusty and don't look welcoming. The people at the front desk are in my opinion too careless to handle customer service over the phone.

This place went from bad to worse. I’ve been been coming to this gym since 2016. Caleb, beware awful customer service. Sebastian, a racist manager and rude scammer. I cancelled the membership for a few months during COVID but got back on track since Dec 2020. Two weeks ago, I was denied access by Caleb cause I brought my first guest to try out the gym for one day. The next day, I spoke with Adolfo (operation manager) then canceled my membership. Of course I have until July 27th to use the club. Now, today, I was told that I owed $60 from 2019 and was denied access, yes all of the sudden. Please do not purchase. Do not sign with them. They are nasty liars. Take your business elsewhere. This is a true corporate scheme to loot customer money.

Didn’t think to rate this gym until I started going to others and saw just how badly taken care of this place is. No weights in the correct spots, equipment all over the floor, machines broken and ripped pads for months on end. Not to mention the very unwelcome feel walking in. Been coming here since 2011 and seen it go downhill since then. Some employees are great hence 2 stars and not 1, but my eyes were definitely opened once I saw how other gyms in the area are taken care of in comparison.

I’ve been working out here for 10 years. Overall it’s a solid gym if you avoid peak hours. Gym isn’t the cleanest, staff isn’t the most attentive, people leave their weights around but we put up with it because this gym has all the equipment and amenities that one could ask for. The recent training area renovation was pretty nice. Wanted to be the 999th review so here we are IG: @dantoruno

This is an older LA Fitness but upgrades are heavily needed...I think they owe it to the members... other than that it's one of the more quieter LA's which can be very comfortable for those concentrated gym goers

Would've given this location 5 ⭐'s IF THEY HAD A ROPE FOR THE PULL-DOWN MACHINE...🙄...other than that the club was very clean...( worker was actively mopping the floors in the men's locker room)..machines were in decent shape... atmosphere was "energetic 💪🏾💥" ...My biggest surprise was the swimming pool which was the deepest LA Fitness pool I've been in "to date" @ nearly 6' deep making it nearly impossible to power walk the length of the pool..( most locations deep end is in the middle & only 5' )....I'm 5'10" and had to stand on my tippy toes and the water was just under my chin! By no means I am complaining cause I love the 💦💦🏊🏾‍♂️...I have the privilege because of my job 🚛 to travel the country thus explore new sights.. again this location is worth your time..🌞

Dirtiest most unorganized gym in the area. It doesn’t matter if you walk in there at 5 AM or 5 PM you can always fine dumbbells, weights, and garbage on the floor.

  • 2/5 Isa D. 2 years ago on Google
Favorite thing is definitely the space, this gym looks and feels big so not everything is cramped into one spot. Pretty nice variety of machines, and it’s rare that they’re down for maintenance for very long, if at all. Kinda have yet to see any bit of cleanliness whatsoever as far as the equipment goes, but there are spots for it. At least 4 squat racks, and a few smith machines too. My main complaint is just rarely finding the free weights you want, they’re always thrown throughout the gym and sometimes in the weirdest places (the sauna.) 3 stars for lack of professionalism within the upper level staff as their focus is apparent as more on money than service, based from the bad experiences I already encountered within the first few weeks of my membership here.
