It was an odd Friday. I randomly spotted a yorkie pup, alone, in the middle of a busy street, walking towards oncoming traffic!?! I got out of my car, put the hazards on & tried to bait him. He was swift & other cars refused to stop. I got back in my car, made a u-turn & saw 2 guys tending to the dog who just got struck. I snatched the trembling pup, put him in my empty dog car seat (yes, that’s a thing & I have one ;) & rushed him to St. Francis Emergency Animal Hospital. I was a hot mess & could only commit, financially, to a basic exam. Cheyenne & Amanda were fantastic- warm, attentive, knowledgable & very patient. I was shook up. While Dr. LoDuca was examining, their team contacted the company that chipped this poor pup. I soon got a call from the owner who was beyond relieved. Dr. LoDuca generously asked the team to reimburse my debt card. The pup’s eager fam met me at IHOP, grateful that he walked away w/ only a few small abrasions & minor swelling. Thank God. And his name is CHARLIE. ✨

Losing a pet is one of the most heart-wrenching experiences a pet owner can go through. However, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to St Francis emergency hospital for their exceptional and compassionate euthanasia service during this incredibly difficult time. From the moment I called to discuss our situation, the staff at St Francis emergency hospital displayed a level of empathy and understanding that immediately put me at ease. They told us to just walk in . Upon arriving at the clinic, we were greeted with warmth and compassion. The staff made sure that Rocky and I were as comfortable as possible in a quiet, private room. They explained the entire process to me, step by step, and gave me all the time I needed to say my final goodbyes to my furry friend. This level of patience and empathy is something I will forever be grateful for. When it was time to say our final farewell to Rocky, the veterinarian and his Dr Ridge and Jamal were incredibly gentle and considerate. They ensured that Rocky passing was peaceful and painless. I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate and dignified way for my dear pet to leave this world. It's these small touches that show how much they genuinely care about their clients and their pets. I can't thank St Francis enough for their professionalism and, more importantly, their kindness during such a heartbreaking time. Their approach to euthanasia services goes above and beyond, providing not only medical expertise but also emotional support for both pets and their owners. In the darkest moments of pet loss, it's comforting to know that there are professionals special thank you to Dr Ridge and Jamal who were extremely professional and compassionate .like those at who understand the depth of our love for our pets and are there to guide us through with compassion and dignity. I highly recommend their euthanasia services to anyone who finds themselves facing this painful decision. Thank you, St Francis ,for helping me say goodbye to Rocky with love, respect, and grace.

I wanted to take the time to thank the Doctor and staff. The day before Thanksgiving, I had to bring my 7 year old yorkie for emergency surgery. The office was extremely busy with many different cases. But the doctor came in and took his time in examining her and explaining the process. In about 3 hours I was in and out. In the meantime, The staff were constantly coming in and letting me know that they haven’t forgotten about me. They admitted her on a Wednesday and I picked her up on Saturday afternoon. Every-time I called no one ever gave me any hassle, I always got an update… Thank you again a thousand times!!!!!

The staff was friendly at first prices were decent. They did an X-Ray that found something small but they wanted to do more and more test for $$$ I was at 1,200 with Ultra-Sound + one night. They wanted to keep him on fluids for 4 days for 1k which was not needed. They got disrespectful when I said my other vet said they are lying for $. They had *many* pets on fluids for $$$ Doctor give me more worst news to try to convince me to leave him & more tests. doctor said he have internal bleeding and would die without fluids. My dog is alive and eating & drinking for 11 days later He just had Hookworms. They made my dog suffer on a hard metal floor with a thin feather Towel he was depressed and suffering. I would not trust this Doctor or staff, The negative reviews are all true. I dispute this cause he did malpractice to my pet and others. I will go after this clinic for fraud as well. Also, I didn't receive Ultra-sound recordings that cost me 580$ Don't come here to heal your dog no help for my pet. They will lie to you and say your dog will die without more unnecessary tests for $$$ In the end your fog isn't healed he was fine already

Jennifer (vet tech) was so caring and nice, truly made me feel so much better about my pet. i went in a crying mess she calmed me down explained to me what happened and even share her won experiences with me. It was honest;y a breath of fresh air to meet someone with such care for animals and compassion for their crazy annoying parents. The prices are super affordable they don't try to rob people they are way more than fain in many instances. I breed and have had dogs my life and i love my vet but if i ever have an emergency after hours this will from now on be my ER or 2nd option vet. Thank you for such an amazing experience at such a hurt time!

We arrived at that hospital with our dog in a very serious condition, and if it had not been for all the attention she received, the experience of the veterinarian, today my dog would not be alive, I was also surprised to go see her at the hospital before being discharged. and I always found her every time I went to see her, clean and with the blankets in her cage clean and changed, I want to thank all the hospital staff , thanks so much and to the veterinarian for his extraordinary help and for saving the life of my beautiful and beloved dog.

Three weeks ago, We had to bring our 4 year old rescue dog after she was hit by a car right in front of our house. She was treated and healed by the doctor and staff. Our family is grateful because she was not easy to handle and they still did their best to help her out. She is all better now and I want to say thank you!!!

I literally can not thank this hospital enough for saving my cat ! He was a stray I was taking care of, and he wasn’t acting like himself, called EVERY SINGLE vet and animal shelter and no one would see him. I finally called this place and Alex was AMAZING I’m so thankful for her help! She really advocated for him, and really gave him a second chance ! Didn’t think he was going to make it but he did. He seems to be recovering just fine. Thank you again to Alex and Dr Steele that helped my stray cat Bucky ! He is doing better, eating, back to looking at the window and being his crazy self, slowly but surely. Thank you again to this hospital for giving Bucky a second chance. He’s now on a super strict diet. I’m so incredibly thankful for Alex she deserves all the flowers. The staff was so warming and kind and funny definitely got a chuckle out of me in a terrible time. Thank you thank you!! Bucky is definitely an indoor cat only now :)

WORST Experience ever. We took our 10-week old puppy there since it was the place that the store where we bought the puppy from instructed us to take the puppy to if she gets sick…. Once at Saint Francis Emergency Animal Hospital, Amanda at the reception desk registered us and also called the pet store owner for approval, which she got. By now 21 minutes had gone by. Finally we were asked to go into an examination room and waited for a Veterinarian to see our 10 weeks old puppy. We must have been there for over 20 minutes when a very rude nurse came in and without even saying hello, she asked: how much did you pay for the puppy? $2,200 we replied, why? And she replied with a very combative tone: Well because if we take care of the puppy, and the bill goes above the puppy’s purchase price, you must pay the difference. Ok, we understand, but why are you being combative, and why are you talking to us in such a rude tone. The puppy is lethargic, non-responsive, I said, can you have someone look at her in the mean time? I am sure that an examination is not going to cost $2,200. So Dr. Steel came in and looked at her, he was nice and professional, but my observation about Dr Steel is that he never asked nurse Alex to change her rude behavior and be respectful. Maybe She is the boss… Dr steel recommended leaving the puppy overnight, to which we agreed, and then he left the examination room. Then nurse Alex started preparing an estimate, which took her another 18 minutes to prepare, (I am not exaggerating), and after she was done with the estimate she waited for the vet to come in and check the estimate, just in case she forgot something, all the while the puppy is in my wife’s arms getting worse and worse. I told her that we just lost our dog about 3 weeks ago, and this new puppy looks in very bad shape, could you please have the vet attend to the puppy while you are preparing the estimate? No way… She refused and said that they will not do anything else until she is done with the estimate and only after we agree and sign said estimate. Again, I asked her why is she being so combative and rude, since we are not being rude and we are not fighting with you? Have we done anything wrong? She did not respond. I begged her to have the vet start treating her. I even asked her: how much could it cost if she were to stay a night or 2? and she said that it could easily be about $500, maybe even up to $1,000 if the puppy were to stay 3 nights, to which I said that it would still be less than the $2,200 we paid, but she would not budge. In the mean time the puppy is getting worse, almost non-responsive, my wife is crying, and nurse Alex is just worried about getting an estimate signed. We felt hopeless and we stuck there, since I did not want to risk taking the puppy somewhere else in such a bad condition… Finally, they took her in 53 minutes after we arrived, and remember, this is supposed to be an emergency hospital. By far, this is the WORST experience ever, thanks to a very bad and rotten apple there by the name of Alex !

What a huge blessing ! Doctor Ridge and The staff at this office took my concern just as serious as their own.& saved my kitty!! Jen was the first contact. Without her we would not have been able to possibly get to see Dr Ridge so urgently. Doctor Ridge gave me thorough education regarding problem and solution for my kitty as well as the home care for my animal. Doctor Ridge is an exceptional person for the unprecedented attention he put into making sure my kitty was no longer on his deathbed ; while having me understand the importance of watching behaviors for signs since our animals are not always vocal/ readable . I also appreciated the direct to point approach because it assured me I wasnt wasting "my cats only chance", that he was in the proper hands and it helped me understand the seriousness of the matter . Which ultimately saved my cats life! He has made a full recovery !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My sweet boy Levi got in a fight with a stray and went almost 2 days without eating afterwards. Came here, got taken care of quickly. Great staff, gave him antibiotics in a syringe and he literally starting eating a minute later. Pricing is more on the costly side but fair considering they’re open 24/7 and allow walk ins.

Tonight I spoke to Alex the head nurse who is extremely experienced she is tough and extremely knowledgeable in her expertise as a nurse giving me much peace of mind to know my cream & white Pomeranian I brought in earlier is in good hands with her. My dog's O2 is low she heightened to a perfect 100 !!! I met the doctor earlier who seems to be so sweet, professional, easy going & extremely laid back he & his assistant immediately jumped to get an O2 reading. The place is pristine so much so my dog slept comfortably on the floor as we waited for the doctor when we arrived this morning. This place is a keeper!!!!

We arrived for an emergency at midnight with our puppy, they attended to him immediately, the girl at the reception was very good to us and helped us in the midst of our anguish. The doctor is the nicest gentleman I have met in a long time, he explained everything patiently and simply, he made us feel that he understood our concern. Great Vet. Unfortunately my puppy was very sick and died. The human treatment with this situation was really good. The girl at the front desk was very supportive in helping me through my pain. And the doctor once again took the time to explain in detail what had happened to my dog. I congratulate you for taking care of every detail in all situations. I appreciate it. There was only one very unpleasant woman, a very tall blonde young girl, who was arrogant and rude. But not even she with her antipathy could overshadow the wonder of the place and the people who do empathize with your situation and work with love. THANK YOU!!!!

Everyone was very friendly. It was a little dated but dr was great, sweet, and patient. Explained to me the possibility of what could be wrong with my dog but after running test he was just coughing because he scratched his throat eating something. He didn't change me! That was great! My bill was ZERO. Their prices are also decent.

Disgusting hospital. I sat here for 4 hours with no care to my dog who was actively vomiting blood. They did not care about him at all. The vet came in and carelessly looked at him and refused to help him unless I signed an estimate to pay over $1000. They did not even care to figure out what was wrong or suggest to at least do the mandatory testing. I explained to him I couldn't afford this absurd fee where he tacked on A BUNCH of things that weren't urgently needed for treatment. I visited this hospital back in 2016 and paid around $300 to have him there overnight with a catheter and with stomach pumped after he got into a bottle of Advil. The experience was much better back then. Of course they didn't want to nor cared to pull this record up. I seriously DO NOT recommend this hospital. Steer clear of this place and take your pet somewhere they'll be adequately taken care of and cared for. I'm unbelievably upset I even wasted time here. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

My elderly dog was very sick when we arrived and bleeding from the month. They soon assessed him and told me he need to be anesthetized since he refused to let anyone open his mouth. My dog can be aggressive when he is scared. But they handled him very well. After 4 days of care I was able to bring him home. I didn't think he would make it, but everyone at St Francis Emergency Hospital healed my good old boy. I am so grateful. Their pricing is fair atleast in comparison to other vet clinics in s.fl. My advice is give any questions to the young lady in the front desk because the Dr's are busy making rounds. They will ask on your behalf and get you an answer by the time you call back to get an update of your pets health status.

Very thankful to this hospital. I am from the St. Petersburg area and I am down in Fort Lauderdale due to evacuation from hurricane Ian. I have five bottle baby foster kittens and one of them was pretty wheezy last night and I wanted to take them in. after a bad experience at another hospital I ended up here at Saint Francis emergency center and the staff was nothing but amazing. The technicians were receptive to my situation and understanding. and the doctor and nurses quickly came in to assess the kitten. They ran a couple fecal tests and did a thorough physical exam and gave me a good answer to what was going on as well as a solution. On top of this all they were able to compensate it for me. If I am ever back in the area and need emergency care I would go out of my way to come to this clinic.

The doctor came in after an hour of us being there waiting for someone to see us. Didn’t introduce himself and didn’t ask us what the problem was, He was very passive aggressive and sarcastic. He took a quick glance at our dog and only addressed the skin condition on our dog. when I asked about the vomiting and foaming he replied “Well you didn’t ask me about that.” We had informed not only the front desk girl but his medical assistant about it and he couldn’t even bother to read their notes. Super unprofessional and just not somewhere I would trust to leave my dog.

We took our 1.5 yr old dog to this facility at 4:00 am. The staff was EXCELLENT. Our dog was admitted and I called every 5-7 hrs to check on her. Everyone was very professional and made us feel we were in good hands. The deposit we made for our dogs care had a refund. I would recommend this facility anytime you have an emergency.

Do not come here you can not trust this doctor and the staff. They are nice at first and you put your trust in them just to get taken advantage of and have them rip you off with no cure for your beloved pet. If you stand up against them they will attack you and laugh it is all pretending to get your money. If you want to save your dog or have correct treatments to performed avoid this place like the plague. They are evil

This place has saved my dogs’ lives multiple times. The lead doctor is very knowledgeable and could pinpoint the issues accurately every time. My older dog got a pyometra once and had emergency surgery, the other one was super swollen and we assumed he was stung by a bee, doc got the perfect cocktails for him, and voila!. I wish they’d do regular visits and not only emergencies. Thank you for helping keep my dogs alive ❤️

In a state of panic — while out of the country — I received a call that my dog was bitten and severely injured. Family brought my dog to St Francis after originally going to another hospital. Not only did they take good care of my dog and performed emergency procedures, but they had reasonable prices and I spoke to a doctor/nurse for daily updates. My dog was over 2 weeks in their care plus went for weekly bandage changes post surgery. I felt confident in Dr. Ridge, Dr. LoDuca, and staff while taking care of my little 8 y/o pup. The result: a fully recovered, healed, and healthy dog. Forever thankful and Thank You for Your Service, Dr Ridge 🇺🇸

Girl at the front desk with piercing and braids has a terrible attitude and should not be working the front desk. One customer asked how long before the doctor arrives and she rolled her eyes and walked away without providing him with an answer. Then I followed up by asking if there was a doctor on-site and she gave me a sassy attitude saying there was already a 4hr wait but did not say yes or no if a doctor was on-site nor did she ask what was wrong with our dog. I walked out and so did the other customer because this is not the type of service I will tolerate or spend my money on.. I’ve been to this office years ago but will NEVER return or recommend this hospital to anyone I know. Went straight to VEG Aventura and was immediately seen by the vet according to their triage system.
