this place could be great, but is awful. we’ve wanted to try a selina for a while & frequently stay in hostels. absolutely do not recommend. pros: comfortable bed cons: - cleanliness: the bathroom is covered in black mold both on the ceiling and all over the grout. the shower walls have clearly never been cleaned. - hang out space: there is supposed to be a dining area & a large multi use room. the dining area is reserved solely for people buying food from the restaurant even though there is a communal kitchen. there is no where to sit to eat if it is raining as all “public” seating is outside. the multi use room has been converted to solely a coworking space. - general hospitality: the workers are more interested in hanging out with each other than doing their jobs. - community: with lack of space to sit, there is no opportunity for travelers to hang out killing the primary purpose of a hostel.

I booked at Selina's without really expecting anything, only for the surf lessons and I was pleasantly surprised: the place is really pretty, I felt like at home and met lots of amazing people. Definitely going back again!

Negatives: Very loud private double room. We were above the kitchen/restaurant and were kept awake until 1:30 AM as the staff cleaned up and were then woken at 7 AM the next morning. Selina also messed up our booking so we had to find alternative accommodation for our final night. Selina only told us this a few days before we arrived. We thought the room was overpriced compared to similar alternatives. Positives: the restaurant was good and well priced. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Good location with lots of parking. There was also a nice atmosphere at the front of the hostel which was in the sun for most of the day and there were lots of things on.

My stay at Selina was just what I was needing. It was so comfortable and homey. People were so friendly and respectful. The room was very clean and even though I stayed in the community room, I still had privacy in my bunk bed, with the built in curtains. The bed was so comfortable ! Thank you so much Selina xx

The Selina is probably the best option you have in Peniche if you want to spend a good time in an international and energetic environment. The hotel gives you the option to chose from share rooms to private rooms (with your own bathroom). The common spaces are nice, the service is great and the mexican food the serve has very good quality.

I have had a great stay at Selina Peniche. Staff is super friendly and helpful (😉Hannah & Anderson amongst others). Great also if you need to cowork! And the surf in the area is just amazing..

    1. Toillets pictures added. So u can see how it looks like. Huge mold on walls. Wather was droping not floating easly. It wasn't clean. 2. Price. 10 people in room, almoust 70 euro per night. For this price i was looking for better indoor design, some renovation and clean feeing in shared rooms and bathrooms. I think its to expensive for "hostel" quality. Nice place beside that 2 points.

Had a good time à Selina péniche. The place is clean and well maintained. The restaurant is lovely. Also the coworkers space is super cozy. However it’s lacking a chill area for the guests to stay and have lunch/dîner, there’s a small kitchen and small dining area but it’s not great. Also sound proofing is not the best, there’s a lot of echo so get your earplugs especially if your room is next to the half pipe.

Selina Peniche is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! It’s super cozy and felt like home, and the friends I made felt like family. You won’t be bored ever if you stay here, and you’ll meet the coolest people. Hannah Rohlfs and Hannah Dewald were so helpful and welcoming when I checked into the Selina, we instantly became really good friends. They gave me so many tips for things to do in Peniche, like the Berlengas Tour which was a highlight of my stay :) I highly recommend Selina, but be careful because you’ll probably end up extending your stay ;)

Great Selina, very spacious rooms with plenty of space for luggage and very clean (I stayed in a 4 bed).Great restaurant and outdoor space to mingle and socialise. Really good vibe. Friendly and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my stay here. Definitely recommend the skate surf with Daniel, it was so much fun! Also had a massage with Pricila and also recommend.

My visit to Selina Peniche in June was an enjoyable experience that I would wholeheartedly recommend. It's not just a place to stay; it's a vibrant, eclectic community with a bohemian flair. Selina Peniche offers more than just a comfortable bed in a clean room. It thrives on the diverse mix of people who come together to share their journeys, the tasty food from its on-site restaurant, and a coworking space that provides ample room and reliable internet. The charm of Selina lies not in the conventional hotel standards but in the personal experiences it facilitates. You can immerse yourself in the beautiful art that adorns the walls, interact with interesting individuals at the bar, participate in social activities, or even embark on group adventures. Although a grocery store is a 10-15 minute walk away, this minor inconvenience is easily offset by the unique beach-side living experience Selina offers. During my stay, I shared a room with five others and found my bed spacious and comfortable. The shared restroom and shower facilities were consistently clean and well-maintained. If you're someone who cherishes quiet solitude, Selina may not be the right fit. It's a space that encourages its residents to step out of their comfort zone, be open, and explore their potential. It's not just a place to sleep, but a place to discover who you are and what you're capable of.

We only ate at the restaurant and everything was great and very creative. I didnt really like the tiramisu as it was overly soaked and the blueberry cheesecake was okay but didnt have many blueberries.

It might be very good for singles as the place is aimed heavily at socializing, but for a couple that also works full-time it’s quite complicated. Pros: great wifi, nice events every day, supports local businesses, comfy bed. Cons: very loud (if you stay in the suite on top of the restaurant forget about going to sleep early or buy good earplugs), common kitchen is not usable (just crowded tiny dirty space), cleaning service in general is very bad, small basic range of hard boards to rent. To sum up overpriced.

The best place for short/long stays!!!! I came originally for 1 night but stayed for 8. I enjoyed here so much! First of all, the blessed off-season... not crowded, there is a lot of space. The place is almost empty but still feels like home. I enjoyed everything during my stay. Karaoke nights, kitchen, location close to the beach, surfing environment (I am a kitesurfer and didn't feel discriminate haha) And the great attitude of the staff! Each one of them is very relaxed, chill, has the answers and the assist for everything. So im not sure how's it feel like to come here on high season. But defently you should come during the winter. To Selina Peniche. Thanks for the experience! And also very clean here. Almost forgot to write

Selina cancelled our third night of our booking, a week before our booking in the high season so we had to book somewhere else last minute and at a high price. We were then told 4 days before the booking that the third night was available again but we couldn't cancel our new booking so had to move. The private room was OK but below standard for what we were paying. When we asked for a 30 min extension for late check out they said we would need to pay 20eur extra. When we explained the situation of being unwillingly moved around a grumpy receptionist reluctantly accepted that we check out 30 mins late. The building has no sound proofing and as we were above the kitchen the noise was so loud that we couldn't sleep until 1:30 AM and were woken up at 7:00. Unfortunately they couldn't change our room as it was high season. The waitresses in the restaurant did their jobs fine but seemed generally grumpy to be working. Some of the receptionists were lovely and were really helpful while others were also just grumpy. The location is good, especially if you have a car. The restaurant was also great for lunch. I generally enjoy Selina but wouldn't personally recommend the one in Baleal. If you do stay, don't stay in a room on the first floor near the stairwell by the restaurant.

Mixed fellings about Selina in Peniche. Good: the crowd, nice people from all around the world to make friends, hostel looks nice and is well decorated, good location somewhat close to beaches. Bad: the walls are very thin so it’s loud especially on weekends with the parties, every 5 mins a door bangs (worst of all we suspect it’s the staffs private area), the kitchen is rather small and not well stuffed, not much comfortable seating places, some staff could have been more friendly, it’s kind of expensive. So overall for the price we paid for a private room we expected more.
