Nice location off Hwy 16 near many tourist attractions. Cabin and facilities are modern and clean. Dishes, pots, pans, and utensils are provided in the cabin. Kid-friendly with a small playground. Breakfast options are pretty simple, but there was a wide enough variety to keep my kids happy. Will definitely consider staying again the next time we vacation in the black hills.

I did lots of research before booking a place to stay for my trip. I found this place which is centrally located to all the popular attractions. I like finding places that are the most bang for your buck, as well as supporting mom and pop businesses when possible. This place did not disappoint. It was clean, friendly service and free breakfast. It will always have a special place in my heart since I got engaged in room #3 on my trip.

I was skeptical when my husband made the hotel arrangements but when we got there I was very impressed. The room was really clean and reasonably priced. We both liked it so much that we extended our stay one day. We had to move to another room but they move our belongings for us so we could enjoy the surroundings and not inconvenience us. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The service was excellent, but the rooms were a little small and dated. The beds were clean as a whistle however, so I was very happy overall. The lamp and side table were a little dusty, but the fridge, microwave, and bathroom were very clean. The lodge and convenience store were also very clean and the continental breakfast included cereal, brownies, toast, or English muffins.

You get what you pay for, it's a decent budget motel. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. The area was quiet and restful for being so close to the roads. Stayed in the lodge and the room smelled unpleasant and there was rust and dirty spots all over the bathroom. I was left wishing I had brought shower shoes. I also wished the bathroom fan had worked. The fridge showed use from previous guests. Also what you don't see from pictures is the hair rising cross over busy one way highways necessary to get anywhere, including the main lodge. This makes it not worth the hassle of breakfast unless it's on the way. Breakfast wasn't even really a continental and we skipped it all but the first time. Choosing to eat granola bars we brought with us instead. I was also surprised there were only deadbolts on the door and no safety latches. It's fine, but the lack of maintenance and cleaning means I probably wouldn't stay here again. There a lot of 5 star reviews, maybe we just got a bad room?

Just okay, lacking cookware and utensils in the kitchens. What items were in the kitchen were scratched and unusable (pans). No sponge for dishes, no extra paper towels. I could hear the people above me and beside me using the toilet, shower and walking/breathing which made it insanely hard to sleep! Very Loud Location was good as you were close to rapid city and custer state park. I just thought the rooms could be elevated and cleaner (very dusty tables, side tables, TV, lamps which I wiped down for my stay).

We stayed here in July and it was wonderful! The room was clean and roomy. We had our kids (17 and 23) so the room with the 2 queen beds and futon was PERFECT. Having a bigger fridge/freezer was nice to unload our coolers and refreeze our ice packs for the night. There were plenty of bbq grills outside available for cooking in addition to the stove in the room. Being able to park right outside our door made unloading and loading easy. The lodge was busy but quiet and we never heard a thing from other guests. The service was amazing as well. We will be back the next time thru!

Great location. The room is pretty clean, I've seen better. The staff is great and the location is terrific. I would consider staying here again. The continental breakfast is nice.

The main reason that I didn't give all 5 stars is because when we checked in this past Thursday evening (10-12-23) there was a winter storm warning in several areas, including Rockerville, after checking in we went right over to our cabin (it was about 6pm so it isn't like we were a late check in or anything) and the cabin was FREEZING. And by freezing I mean it was almost as cold inside as it was outside...and it was snowing. Now, I understand that turning on heat isn't cost effective, but they knew that cabin was booked and could have AT MINIMUM put the heat on 60 or something. It was awful to arrive to after driving a good chunk of the day and our poor kiddos were miserable. Other than this the cabins are beautiful, the area is beautiful and it's a great location... *Reply to Owner*- Yes, once we arrived we turned on the unit (it was completely off, I believe) and it worked well after it rose to an appropriate temperature.

This is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but not in a bad way. It is still very drivable to more touristy areas, and it is peaceful. The rooms were moderately clean (a little bit in the corners kind of thing) and very well kept. No elevator to upper floors. The beds were not uncomfortable. The rooms have nice kitchenettes. There is a pool and playgrounds, so for the price, this is really not bad. The breakfast is really more of coffee and toast/cereal. The biggest issue for me was the bright light on the upper deck shone into the room through the blinds. Could really have used some blackout curtains. Overall, not a bad stay.

Cute little place. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Clean room. Hot shower. Budget friendly. Our king-size room had a full-size refrigerator, stove top, sink, and microwave. Would recommend and will stay again if we're ever back in the area.

You can't find nicer people! The owners/staff really made us feel welcome, they were so friendly the kind that make you want to come back again and again! The rooms were clean and the little kitchen was beautiful. The location was absolutely perfect and ssooo easy to find!

Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to drive on and across highways where traffic is traveling 55 to 75 mph. Oh Yeah - we loved our little kitchen area and our room was clean and had NO Odor which is somewhat rare and was VERY appreciated.

This was the perfect place to stay along our road trip! Location was convenient to Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, and Custer State Park. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed, and the staff were so friendly! They gave great recommendations for things to do around the area and provided fun, interesting history on the town and surrounding area

I felt like they had a promotion going on for cabins and online it shows what a real cabin looks like and what you could be getting, but they force you to get just another room that looks like an apartment complex up hill. I could've gotten a better room in Rapid City for about the same price, I feel cheated. It's strictly says no money back on their website, so you kind of stuck with that. Breakfast down in the main shack is cereal and toast. Very disappointed in the breakfast section. if you must stay, look for something better in Rapid City, you will end up paying the same for a better hotel and breakfast.

The beds were not very soft and we thought we would have a king but it was a queen. The breakfast was okay but could have better cereal options. It was close to everything we wanted to see.

Rooms were small but had everything we needed. It worked out for us because my 90 year old Mother-in-law could get around comfortably. Larger rooms/cabins are available. Owners/managers were really nice. Would definitely stay again.

I would recommend Rockerville Lodge and Cabins to anyone! I could not be more pleased with our stay. We stayed 6 nights at Rockerville and utilized its central location to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer and the Badlands. None of these locations listed were more than an hour away! The room was spotless and had everything we needed including a living room area, bedroom, bathroom and full kitchen! The people we met in the front office were very kind and helpful with suggestions of places to eat or things to do . They also served a continental breakfast each morning, but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try it. This was well worth the price. We will definitely stay here again!

Had a lovely stay here in May! Check in was great the room was lovely. The beds were comfy, and the bathroom and kitchen were clean. The only complaint was that we could not see the tv from one of the beds in our room…not that it was a deal breaker or anything. Just kind of situated strange. There is also no elevator so we had to lug our stuff up and down the stairs. Definitely would stay again but get a first floor room.

Friendly service upon arrival and on departure. A very well run property in a beautiful and very scenic area. Really enjoyed the three night stay in the cabin. Excellent location, perched between Keystone and Rapid City. Would love to visit there again. 5/5

This place is definitely a great find if you find yourself near Rapid City, Sturgis, and/or Mount Rushmore! Clean, convenient location, the staff were super friendly and very professional...they definitely made us feel very welcome, especially considering we were two families converging for the night from Missouri and Idaho respectively. The beds were super comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers, and a full kitchen...the room we had was basically a decent sized apartment for a really great deal! The ONLY thing that caught my attention was that you could see into/out of the bedroom through the bricks of the fireplace. Otherwise, I have no complaints and don't feel that's enough to knock off a star! If we're going to converge in South Dakota for family meet-ups again in the future, we are definitely going to do our best to stay here again! I feel this is a top notch place, especially for the price and location!

We loved our 2 night stay cabin #23. It was clean and cozy. We used the cabin as a “home base” while taking in the sites & attractions of the area. We took full advantage of the stocked kitchen and private grill cooking all of meals and prepping two days worth of food for the ride home! We not only saved a ton of money while doing this, but we also had a more personal intimate experience together as a couple. We lacked for nothing in our cabin. Showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The queen bed was comfy and warm. We loved the amount of amenities provided and hope to come back with our adult kids next year and take full advantage of the day use of the lodge area with games, snacks, puzzles, and a community feel. We’ve been vacationing for 24 years and our Rockerville cabin experience was easily one of our favorite stays!!

Cabin 18/19. Clean, well air-conditioned and roomie. Good sized bedrooms. Didn't hear any traffic. Host are very friendly and amazing. Before we came to the lodge, my son was bit by a spider. They got on their computer and helped us find a Urgent Care facility. They invited you to come back down to the office/lodge to play cards and socialize in the evening.

The room was great. The scenery was decent. The rooms were clean. We had a full kitchen with all the needs taken care of. The outside porch was my favorite part. But the bed. The bed was not good. My husband felt my every move and vice versa with me. But other than that my stay was great.

Great room, at a great location, at a great price. We stayed here because it’s about as close as you can get without camping to the Storm Mountain trails for mountain biking. Our room was very spacious, and had a bed, couch, full oven/range and fridge! Only improvement would be having either a small coffee table or small bar table & stools so you had somewhere to set your food down when you eat other than your lap. But no table is definitely not a deal breaker and there’s a good chance we’ll stay here again someday.

We visited the Black Hills on vacation. The area, in general, was beautiful and there were so many things to do as a family. We stayed in the lodge which was separate from the cabin area. Our room was updated and clean and we had a kitchenette that we used daily to prep meals. The staff were welcoming and friendly. If you are vacationing on a budget but don't want to compromise on cleanliness and functionality, this is the place for you. Our family made some great memories!
