After eating here I see why this place has such a good rating. Yes, this place is great for seafood. The fish is fresh, the shrimp is cooked to perfection, and the margaritas are great just make sure you tell the bartender how you want the drink made. I was pleased and impressed with every dish and bite. The best tip I can give you is to ask for the Oar sauce and dip it in everything! it's their house sauce, and it's great on fish, fries, and even the hush puppies. And yes, the Hush puppies are perfect; they are sweet and not dry. I had the fried fish combo basket combo, and I left so full I almost fell asleep driving on the way home. My dad who was with me on this trip had the grouper and rice, and he said he loved the Blackened style fish and that it was the right amount of spice and the fish was just right and flaky. The rice was great also, and the vegetables were nice and fresh. The wait staff was nice and friendly and helpful. I had a great time here. There was plenty of parking, and we were shown to our seats immediately. I only wish I would have brought a lot more people because this place seems it would have been great to spend the entire day there eating and drinking. The view is great, and the music was not too loud. I had a good time here and can't wait to return.

First time here, it was recommended to me. I have to say it was very good. Beautiful scenery. For starters we had the smoked tuna dip and that was delicious. The fish was delicious, the only thing I didn’t like was the fried oysters they were bland and just not appetizing, the cheese grits were good, shrimp good. Overall, it was a great experience. Our server was awesome!

Oar House is such a cool place and dining experience; great beach bar. The food was okay. We had oyster and shrimp baskets. The oysters were large which made them a bit tough/chewy but everything was well seasoned. The hush puppies were delicious. Our waiter, Irvin, was AWESOME, very professional and attentive; he should be made a manager! The only disappointment was the coffee cocktails.

This was my first time at the restaurant. My son and I were seated immediately and, as a surprising bonus, we were able to get a table outside. It was a lovely evening. Our server showed up promptly and took our drink order. Shortly thereafter, we ordered appetizers and our entrees. The food was simply delicious. There are definitely no complaints. It was cooked properly, seasoned well, and delivered hot. Oar House is definitely on my return list!

Wife and I stopped here for lunch today, we both had the shrimp po boy and we asked for oar sauce to put on it. Sandwich was fantastic little heavy in bread in our opinion but alot of shrimp and slaw and light breading on the shrimp. We also got a cup of gumbo and it was extremely tasty as well and wife had 4 hush puppies, I’m not a hush puppy fan but she loved them, said they were very good. Definitely a place to revisit.

WOW!!! First off, I wish I had taken pictures of my food, but at first site I rushed in for a bite and never thought of pictures again. I only wanted to keep tasting that amazing food. I had the fish and chips (I chose to get cheesy grits instead of fries). I've never had grits before, but I'm in love with these! I also had a Gator bite and that was delicious! Before even trying the cheesy bites the server told me if I didn't like them he'd give me chips instead. Also traded out a drink my buddy didn't like for a different one, free of charge. They clearly want the customer to be happy, and they succeeded. The atmosphere is also perfect! Beautiful views compliment the perfect cuisine! 6 STARS!

I was looking for a happy hour spot and Oar House seemed like a good fit. I mean, come on, how can you NOT like being by the water, boats, food, drinks, yeah! First impressions was fun with an open air bar, a dining area and an enclosed bar. I had never been here before and I was surprised that this little piece of paradise was not only so close to my home, but, that I have passed this area plenty of times and never knew it was here. I sat at the bar and ordered a Long Beach iced tea (made with cranberry juice), however, I got the Long Island iced tea which was okay, but I really don't drink Coke so that was a little off putting for me. I declined the bartenders offer to remake the drink, he was very sincere in apologizing for his mistake. I decided to order fried pickles for my appetizer and they were really good. They were hot and cooked perfectly and came with a side of ranch dressing. Next, I ordered shrimp tacos that came with black eyed peas, coleslaw and a side of salsa and a dipping sauce. The flour tortillas were huge and flavorful. The coleslaw was delicious and crisp, the black eyed peas needed a bit of seasoning but otherwise it was a delicious meal. Beautiful location, I enjoyed myself.

Great hangout spot. Great food, service and drinks at a very reasonable price. One interesting note...they have a Tenderloin Steak (filet) for $27.95! Could it possibly be good? It was a about 10 oz. perfectly cooked and delicious! If you like volleyball, they got that too.

Great service, decent prices and personally the best tasting grilled shrimp that I've ever encountered!! The fries here are also great! Neat location by the water as well.

First time in Pensacola, Googled best seafood near me and this popped up. And yes, it was really good. My server was very pleasant and made me feel welcomed. I had the lunch version of fried shrimp and fish. Shrimp were fried just right.... wished there were more than 4! Can we talk about the fries? ❤️ them! They were hot and crispy, yet soft inside. I would come just for them. Glad they served more than I could eat! Will definitely be back!

Love going to this place every time I'm in town! Their crocodile bites are always a hit. 🐊 The service is always friendly, and we love sitting out overlooking the water, but there are plenty of other options for seating, including a rectangle bar space and covered seating as well. The sand volleyball court looks fun, but haven't tried it yet.

We arrived for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon. After a short 20 minute wait we were seated in the back patio area. We could easily see the bayou and the boat activity even around the high top tables which were against the rail. I was disappointed that they no longer have the paella on the menu but was able to find something that appealed to me. We started with fried pickles which came out hot and crispy with a side of ranch and remoulade for dipping. This was promptly followed by my blackened Mahi Mahi tacos and my husband's grouper sandwich. Both were delicious and the fish perfectly cooked. I'm very picky about coleslaw since I don't really like mayo, so I was surprised how delicious the little side of coleslaw was, in addition to the side of very creamy black eyed peas. The fries with the sandwich were crispy and hot. My husband ordered his sandwich "dirty" which meant it came with a side of crawfish etoufee as a topping. We both agreed that it didn't really go well on the sandwich but tasted great on its own. We ordered the key lime pie to finish and while it was beautifully presented and creamy it lacked the tangy punch of lime were expecting. After lunch we walked down to the dock to watch the boats for a little while before heading out. Overall it was a very good experience and we plan to return again soon. We know this place can get really busy during peak hours so either plan to wait for a while or come like we did between 2 and 4pm.

We have been here before and I just had to get back to have one of their grilled grouper sandwiches. So good! I am not a fan of the fries, these are the kind with some kind of coating. But the grouper was great and their ranch dressing is so good! I highly recommend! I also had my husband's cole slaw and it was so tasty! I also like that they serve drinks in a big cup so no need for constant refills!

Food was great. Not too loud. I timed everything because of my ocd. It took 2 min to get our drinks after sitting. 4min and 24 seconds later we were ordering appetizers. 18 min later we ate our appetizers. Which were Gator bites and they were great. 12 min after that we were eating our lunch. Service was fast. Never had to wait on a refill. Great place to eat.

We had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant is water front and have Tikki vibe and a lot of character. We got in a good time and we’re sorted right away. My son had shrimp and grits. I had Baja Tacos. The food had a good flavor. The menu has plenty of options from seafood to filet mignon. The prices are reasonable.

The atmosphere was EVERYTHING!!! First time visiting! Restaurant sits in a Marina. Food was tasty! The only problem was that we had a piece of plastic in one of the drinks we ordered, but our server handled it perfectly and quickly. We ordered two appetizers: fried alligator (chewy) and smoked tuna dip (excellent). For out entrees we ordered: fish and Grits (great) and the seafood basket (fried shrimp, oysters and fish)..Noth entrees were excellent! The watermelon margarita on the rocks was awesome too! Worth a trip back!

Overall great experience. It’s a very large place, when we arrived a bit confusing on where the host stand was at. After finding it though we were seated promptly with friendly service. We were seated on the outside patio area with a beautiful view. The Fried Fish Fingers were very fresh. Very had a nice crispy outside and nice flakey fish on the inside. The sauce served complemented them very well. I elected for the Shrimp and Grits for my main course. It had a very good flavor and the shrimp were excellently cooked. I won’t say it’s the best I’ve had, but pretty good. You really can’t beat the view of this place though. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

Nice little place. Not really a secret, but I know alot of locals who have never been here. We got at least once a month. The cheese grits are pretty good. Whenever we have guests this is a place we take them or recommend it. Definitely worth a try and the prices aren't bad.

One of our favorite places in Pensacola! This place is a bit hidden and away from the popular touristy areas, but it is still gets a big crowd! It is like an open-air beach bar, on the water, with sand volleyball courts. On top of a great atmosphere, the food is amazing! My husband says they have the best fish and chips he's ever had. I highly recommend a visit here!

This was my second visit to The Oar House - and it has been fantastic both times. The fried pickles and fried fish were both spectacular. Service was fast and friendly. It was a bit chilly in the restaurant, due to cold temps outside, but otherwise everything was just wonderful.

Oar House is a fun place to go. The food is great, service is good, and the kids, or adult s, can play in the activity area with horse shoes or volleyball. They have a large bar outside and inside. The view is nice with the boats in the marina. There's love music at times, you can eat inside or out. Just a fun place for locals and tourists alike.

Outdoor but covered with fans , overlooking marina, it has a great casual and relaxing vibe . Gumbo has a kick and was very flavorful . The hush puppies were the best ! Perfectly fried and crispy but moist and so flavorful on the inside ! Jezebel salad was a Do. The Key Lime pie was so perfect: the perfect blend of slightly tart and sweet . Thick, but moist graham crust. You will be pleased with whatever you order.

Family recommended this place because we wanted some good local seafood. We were not disappointed. Good atmosphere, nice bar, good service, and delicious food. Parking is precious, wait time was long but expected, and food took a long time to come but it was worth the wait. Will definitely go back and recommend it to all. Thank you, Oar House!

Really enjoyed eating here on our vacation and hope to come again when we return. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our family. We liked the shrimp cocktail. My husband had the grouper. I loved the shrimp and grits. And the kids fish meal was a hit with both my kids. My mother enjoyed the shrimp and white fish. The key lime pie was a little disappointing. I regret not ordering the gator bites and a cocktail.

On our way out from our yearly girls trip, we stopped and had one last lunch together. We have never been before and came across it on google. Some of us have gluten allergies, and the menu was very accommodating. The food was incredible, the Bloody Mary's were delicious, and our server Kitty was on point! She was friendly and very attentive!! I HIGHLY recommend her on your visit! Next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop again!

Been there twice with work groups and I won't go personally. Both times were under impressive. The food was so-so, but I will say the service has always been great. Good luck getting seated for a big party if you don't have half of them there. Our group has been there several times over the years and despite reliability they will not save a table for guaranteed business (even when we were all in uniform).
