👍 Food was very good! Best chips and salsa I’ve had in a long time. Nice, clean and spacious restaurant. We ate outside with our dog. Our party of 7 was stuffed! Very large portions. We ordered the trio of dips for an appetizer. I’d recommend sticking to the queso instead. Burritos and tacos came out... People often mention good, tacos, service, great, waitress,

We had a wonderful time at Cactus Cantina. We walked in and was seated immediately. Now it was a nice crowd it's also ample seating. Now ita a typical Mexican menu but presentation , combination of flavors and taste is very unique. The atmosphere was family oriented with huge video games and flat screen surround the place. You can dine alone or have a banquet there everyone will.enjoy. I most definitely will be attending this restaurant again when I go back to Pensacola. I will give a 7 out of 10 only because I dint try the bar and one of our orders was delivered late to the table.

I thought I might get an authentic Mexican taste from this place but unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with my take out order which included carne Asada tacos, a burrito and a side of beans and rice. To be honest, everything simply tasted like salt. There was no flavor other than overwhelming saltiness that led to incredible thirst. The steak tacos looked much more appealing than they tasted.

Thr environment is very nice as well as the servers there. I ordered the fajitas and other than some of the bottom parts being burnt, everything was great! They get the food out to you very quickly and they don't rush you to eat! I would definitly recommend going here.

Great place to eat downtown!! Chips and salsa were yummy! I love the thin chips. The staff was great and frequently came by to ask if we needed anything. The food comes out like super quick!! If you want to chit chat and have drinks, hold that order!! Our food came out within 5min of ordering so we didn't get to enjoy out chips/salsa/queso! We didn't have to wait for a place to sit. They have an arcade type games, so be prepared if you have kids and now want to play! This place has outdoor seating to people watch...great drink selection and lots of food to figure out!

Food was done very well. After we ordered, it came out super fast! We were actually amazed lol. I can definitely say that was the best thing about this place. Literally came out in like 5 minutes max!. The waitress was very kind a professional. Will definitely go again.

Not the best Mexican in Pensacola but its pretty darn good. They have multiple locations, Ive only visited the downtown Pensacola one. Ive been here a few times for lunch and dinner. All times the staff was nice, friendly and offered excellent suggestions. Ive enjoyed every meal and drink here. Friendly, fun environment if you want a meal for by yourself, date or a group of friends. They also have a basketball and other arcade games to play. Cant forget the cactus grits, they are yummy! Definately give the grits a try, they will pleasantly surprise you.

“Cardboard cantina” would be a better name for this place and you’d know exactly what you would be getting. The chips taste like church wafers at their best and fried paper at their worst. The guacamole tastes like green. It has a weird metallic after taste. But if the food doesn’t turn you away, the ambience should. It’s the typical cafeteria style set up which is so popular these days—metallic chairs and tables on cement floors with the astringent smell of floor cleaner. Every other place on Palafox was packed , and this was a ghost town. Although the staff are really nice, the food isn’t worth the plate it sits on

I’ve been here about 5 or 6 times and really enjoyed the first few times I came here. The food and drinks are very good but the service was a bit lacking most of the times I came. The service took a real turn for the worse when I came today. Came with a large party of 12 with a reservation. The waitress denied me an alcoholic beverage because my license was expired, which is completely understandable. The part that bewilders me is they then denied my military ID and a third form of state ID I tried to present. But again, as strange as that is, no big deal I don’t need a drink that bad. Where it gets bad is when the food starts to come out, half the food is wrong and a few plates didn’t come out until most the table was already done eating. The waitress then became quite rude when we were trying to get it figured out and wanted to blame us for it. I’m pretty disappointed with the service Cactus Cantina has to offer because I really did enjoy the food. After the way my friends and myself were treated during this most recent trip I don’t believe I’ll ever return here. Especially after I’ve learned they don’t seem to welcome the military community, which is a very strange choice in a town like Pensacola.

We're in town for a getaway weekend and actually planned on eating at a different restaurant nearby but it was insanely crowded. We spotted this place and we were NOT disappointed! Our waitress (Amanda) was outstanding, the food was so good and it wasn't rowdy! I really appreciate that that they specify whether the chicken is grilled or shredded. I got the shredded chicken chimichanga...so good! My husband got the fish tacos. It's his new favorite thing! We used to get fish tacos on the beach in California and these TOP those. Oh and the drinks? I got a rainbow margarita and it was HUGE and tasty!! Highly recommend!

The salsa has just the right amount of spice. The fried boom boom shrimp tacos are phenomenal! First time here, and it's definitely worth it!

Ate lunch at a table. Good food. The salsa was very spicy so couldn't eat it. Ordered the carne asada tacos and a spinach and mushroom quesadilla with a side of queso which was delicious. Also ordered a bloody may, which was huge. We were seated at a dirty table and asked our waitress if she could clean it for us. We were seated in a back area away from the main sitting areas and bar which was quite dirty with mashed chips all over the floor. Was not very busy. Our server was good though and our food came pretty quickly.

Not too busy on a Tuesday night. Server gave us very prompt attention and we had our drinks quickly. She memorized our order and got everything perfect. I had the carnitas with black beans and cactus grits. The meat and onions were perfect- very flavorful- no fat or bad pieces, cactus grits were delicious and cheesy, and beans were flavorful. Mine was a 5star for sure! Husband had a California burrito. He said it was good. He did not have much to say- but gobbled it down quickly. Overall a wonderful visit- definitely will return!

Can’t say we had any issue… Went on a busy Saturday night and the wait time was very reasonable for we just walked around downtown until our time had come. The food was not only delicious but it was hot as it should be when you eat out at a restaurant. Family oriented, clean eating area and restrooms… Huge thanks to our waitress that night “Tyesha” Kudos to you…Wish we could give more stars.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. The waitstaff was polite, courteous and well versed in the menu! The food was delicious, there wasn't a single thing on any of our plates we didn't want more of. The cactus grits are to die for! I believe they mix in their queso to them and it is a unique and delicious experience. We will 10/10 be back again and in fact have already visited one other location. Go here!!

Service was very slow to begin with. Waiter wasn’t up on drink specials, etc. Chips were very light (yum) but I prefer them to be warm. The chimichanga was disappointing, the tortilla should be crusty but was mushy. The Cactus Bowl was pretty good: chicken tasty and cervechi fresh and flavorful. It’s more of a sports bar atmosphere than a Mexican restaurant and it’s quite loud.

I'm just visiting in the area and this place was super awesome @! I highly recommend if you would like an inside dining with great service. My bartender was Dawn , and oh my goodness!!! Excellent service and a very bubbly personality. I will be coming back on my next trip.... not to mention their specials for lunch hour are more than enough .. thanks again Dawn !!

This was a great experience. The atmosphere was upbeat & had great vibes. I had the Gulf Fish Tacos- cantina style. They were excellent! Great place to eat in downtown Pensacola!
