That’s the most horrible hotel we’ve ever been in. Please think twice before you decide to stay here. Good location isn’t worth it. We are currently living here and we can’t wait to check out of this hell. Despite numerous signs about being quiet it’s incredibly noisy all the time here. We paid 150 euros for 2 nights and I didn’t expect to get a cheap hostel experience. The hotel is full of teenagers and students, they were making a lot of noise in late hours, it was impossible to sleep. We asked them to be quiet, but they didn’t listen. They were out of their rooms in corridors and kept slamming doors so loudly. Also someone knocked at our door three time during the night. My wife felt unwell the other day and we had to stay in the room. And we witnessed how cleaning personnel did they job. Honestly they behaved like wild monkeys screaming and laughing in corridors with a loud music from their boombox and banging to our door with “do not disturb” sign. Totally unprofessional.

I booked a bed in a 6 bed room and check-in was supposed to be at 15:00. I arrived early asking for food recommendations, but the staff said that my room was ready early AND that I had a free upgrade to an individual room. The room was perfect for solo travelers, the hotel was in a safe location, and the staff was incredibly kind. They also gave great recommendations on everything. I am so grateful to the people who work at this hotel for all that they did to make my Munich experience great. Location of the hotel is also top-notch. All around, the best experience I've had at a hotel in a long time.

Rooms were not bad and the people working there were really nice and helpful. We had a good time, breakfast was nice and tasty we also had a great time playing billiards and drinking beer. Unfortunately hotel is kind of old and not in a very good condition. I guess it is in the process of renovation and after that it will probably deserve more stars as everything else was great.

We have stayed in 10 Meiningers so far, and this was our least favorite. The location is okay, as it is near the S-Bahn stop but could be more central. It looked like a college dorm, and the biggest drawback was that there was no circulation or fan system like all the other Meiningers. It was noisy outside at all hours if the day and night, so we couldn’t sleep with the windows open. The elevator was small and slow. Having a kitchen was great, but not the best stocked compared to your other hotels. The staff was great, though, and I understand it is being re-done.

The hotel provides a quite decent comfortable stay, even that is a bit far from the city center. A very remarkable thing from our stay is that the elevator was out of service the whole weekend, which is completely unacceptable. I want to assume that was something exceptional. The breakfast was OK.

Stayed four nights with a classmate. It was rather quiet at night throughout my stay. People on my floor observed the "quiet after 22:00" etiquette. Temperature was mild. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were chill and friendly. Guest kitchen was splendid. Rooms were clean and spacey. Free brezels were high quality. Location was convenient. Neighborhood was safe and entertaining. Many good restaurants in proximity.

As a luxurious travel type of person, this was my first time in a hostel in Germany, and I have to say I have been amazed by the quality and wholesomeness of this cozy Hostel. The rooms were super clean and cozy, the receptionists are super helpful and friendly, the food was the best! I’d say this stay was way better than some of the 4 star hotels I’ve been to last few weeks, Definitely recommended! You can also see The staff care more about your experience than how much you’d pay

Rooms were excellent quality. Great location for restaurants and shops. München is a beautiful place and my stay here gave me convenient access to the city.

This was my most terrible experience in last 10 years related to hotel stays. Hotel could not have title "hotel" as this is not hotel. There is nothing. I was in room which is like phone street call box. Everywhere is dirty and is not cleaned. Room has not air condition. Breakfast is extremely simple. Actually i am supposing in jail, is offered better breakfast. I have PTSD about this 3 day stay.

I booked for two nights, but due to a missed a connection on the train, I arrived only after the first night. Since I booked fix, I wasn't eligible for a refund, so I didn't cancel the first night, since I wasn't going to get a refund anyway, and I had already paid for it. When I arrived, they said they had cancelled my complete booking. They said I could stay the second night, but I would have to pay again. This in unacceptable. They kept saying it's standard in Munich, it doesn't matter. If I have paid for two nights, I get the bed for two nights, it doesn't matter when I arrive. He kept saying there was nothing he could do, and that if I wanted to stay, I would have to pay again (after already having paid for two nights??). After arguing for 30 minutes, he suddenly found my booking was able to let me stay for the second night of my booking. While I'm glad that in the end he was able to check me in, the fact that I had to argue my case and supposedly be grateful for that he could open it again, was not acceptable. I don't care if it's standard in Munich or not, if I have booked fixed and paid, you can't cancel my booking. If it's fixed for me, it should be fixed for you as well. I didn't even get an email saying it was cancelled. Apart from that, the room/bed itself was fine. It's about a 15 minute walk from the main station. A towel is provided free of charge, which is nice. Room and bedding was clean. It's quite a dark environment.

The location of the place is great. Walkable distance from central bus station and train station. If you are travelling in budget and planning to get a hostel may be its good enough, but for single room that I booked it was way overpriced considering the facilities. You can book a much better hotel with atleast basic amenities at the same price.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! The Hotel canceled a reservation that we guaranteed with our credit card many months ago. They "offered" to move us - for the same price - to another poorly located hotel that was at an HOUR distance by foot in winter. But the price we paid was higher than what they are asking to new customers that were not canceled as we were. So they cancel and they offer to overcharge you. They refused to answer my messages for days. They still didn't respond. I never had such a horrible experience with Service in my life.

They canceled my reservation without telling us that our payment would not go through. We had flights from another country booked and they never informed us our payment would not go though. All we had got was a confirmation email saying our reservation was confirmed. No one let us know our payment would not go through. I called them the following day when I received the cancellation email to see what happen they were clueless… now there are no rooms available because they have my room to someone else. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not book a stay with this hotel! Now we have no hotel and no where to stay with flights and vacation plans already made.

Stayed in the 6 bunk room. It had a private bathroom. The beds were comfortable. The room was nice for the price. The hotel has security at night. Location was great for Oktoberfest. Good breakfast and bar in the lobby.

My group of 5 was trying to find a place to stay for a couple of days around New Years, but most hotels were already booked, super expensive, or couldn’t accommodate 5 people. I started looking at Hostelworld, to see if I could find a place to book a whole dorm. We were able to book a whole dorm here (six beds) for way less than it would have cost to get a hotel. We each had our own room key to get into our specific dorm, so we didn’t have to worry about anyone else getting in. We had a whole room, our own bathroom with a shower, and each had our own bed. The beds were really comfortable, just squeaky for the people on the top bunks. I really liked how the shower was “separated” from the toilet, so multiple could be in the bathroom at once. The staff were nice, the hangout area downstairs by front desk was kind of cool. There is a mini game room, vending machine with little snacks and drinks and a freezer with ice cream. I have no complaints about staying here! I attached a Tik Tok I made of it, but could only do 30seconds of it, so I added a few more short clips.

The staff went above and beyond. I made an error in my booking for the wrong date, and was shocked when I arrived an no room was reserved (my error). The staff were kind and patient, offering solutions despite their heavy booking due with the festival in town. They were able to get me a room booked and offered a discount which was truly exceptional customer service. So grateful I didn't have to try and find a new hotel last minute! Thank you!

Overall, the hostel room and facilities were perfect. Good laundry room, good luggage room, good kitchen. The only thing I have to point out is that it was missing lockers where to save your important stuff in the rooms.

We had weird roommates who left the dormitory after appearing for a few hours and leaving the room in a messy state. Room was very dusty triggering sinus. Lack of lockers in the room for luggages and just a rack shelf which other roommates just make a mess of for usage. Also poor policy supports prior for a request for an additional night. Will not recommend

In general everything was good, but there are several things to improve. For example I was sharing a room with 5 othe people and I did not have any el. outlet near my bed so I had to use the one across the room. There was a pool table near the reception and it was free to play, so that was nice, but the cues were very damaged. Also It would be nice to have a lockers either in reception or in the room itself, ro store the luggage while gone. The staff was very heplful and friendly and generally it was friendly situation.

Great place, only a few minutes from the center and main station. Check-in was simple and the room was clean and comfortable. All you need for a few days stay in Munich.

Our stay could have been better had the elevator been working. Although we were allowed to use the staff elevator, it was still a challenge for us, elderly individuals, to climb up a level higher with our luggage ( about 20 kg or more) to access the elevator. Notwithstanding that, it was a plus to be close to the central train and bus stations. City center was also accessible by walking.

Easy location just 10 min walking distance from the central main station and the downtown. Perfect for Octoberfest and town sightseeing. Friendly and always ready to help employees. Room is big enough. Would definitely reccomend. Must wait a bit for the elevator but no such problem heading the stairs with a backpack.

Very unfriendly staff, better avoid this hotel. Despite they sell the fact that they care about Covid, we found an used mask and a lollipop besides the bed. We told them and they were not able to clean and remove them before 2 days..

The hotel respond at what described, but very old and need to be refreshed. One of the réceptionniste told me that it will be refreshing for nest year but it does deserve it as it's old and only one lift so tooks ages to move. The very big +++++++ in this hotel is the staff very helpful. Enjoyable and make you feel having a personal cares. Thank you guys keep going like this, and special big up to Andrenka in a reception ( hopefully I didn't mess with the name. Spelling)

The location is good, a few tram stops from the central station. Dorms have no AC, thus you have to sleep with the windows open. It gets quite loud at night because of the train station nearby. Be sure to bring some earplugs with you. Lockers are really small, you can barely fit something in them. Moreover, they do not close so they’re basically useless. The guest kitchen could be cleaner, otherwise it was well equipped

Really friendly, helpful reception staff, good location & common areas. Can get a bit noisy but not a big issue in my stay. Private parking was a bonus.

Well located and frendly workers. The host kichen was small, badly equiped and not easily available. The room was hot because we faced a hot wave. We stayed before in Meininger Amsterdam West and that hotel is much better. Meininger Munich hotel could make some improvements to reach the same level of other Meininger hotels without increasing prices.

Nice clean hotel for two stars. Close to my point of interest. Close to the tram. 20 min walk to Marie platz. Good classic German breakfast with nice bread but somehow monotonous. Should have more variety in vending machines.

Nice, helpful service is probably the biggest advantage of the hotel. The building itself is pretty old and could use a renovation or at least a thorough cleaning. It's tough to find a parking spot nearby. The ventilation in the room and in the shower is not enough, especially during hot days. The street traffic noise makes it hard to sleep and there's also the smell coming from a brewery nearby during the working days, which is pleasant at first, but just too much after some time.

After reading terrible reviews of another hostel in the same area (not Meininger) I decided to stay at this place. Good decision. Helpful and friendly reception. Beds are already made and towels for free. The cleanliness was very good. Didn't use facilities like breakfast or guest kitchen. One negative point, but that's not the fault of the hostel, is the noisy and busy main road in front of the dorm rooms. Now in summer you need to open windows and a lot of noise comes in. You need earplugs. Other than that everything was good and I would come again!

When I came 4 India to Munich, I was in search of an apartment. As we all knw dat here even shared apartments r bit pricey nd nt easily available. I searched a lot bt couldn't find 1. Then I got 2 knw abt this long term stay in meininger. I booked for 1 month. And it's such a relief. Better facilities than shared apartment, super friendly staff, cleaned nd well organized guest kitchen nd above all gud speed wifi. That was d cherry on d cake as I had my online classes.Wat else I want. Hadn't tried their breakfast... so can't comment on dat.. totally satisfied.. so extended my booking here.

Good breakfast, but you clear the table yourself! Rooms clean but low budget.

I do like the Meininger chain of hotels overall, but this location was a bit disappointing. The room was a bit dark and not fairly well lit and the front desk staff was not very helpful with it or any other information when asking for recommendations. They didn't seem to know the area very well or didn't seem like they really wanted to help.
