Had a very nice time there. Rooms were clean and neat. Some rooms had renovated modern bathrooms. Some of the downsides of the hotel is that rooms do not have AC and that there is no much view visible from the rooms. The star of our experience was Ms. Melanie who took care of us during breakfast. She perfectly understood that we do not eat pork/meat and was very supportive and offered us everything we needed as a replacement with a wide smile on her face. She is truly one of the best we ever dealt with in all of Germany. Thank you Ms. Melanie! it would not have been the same without you. Wish that more people in the tourism sector were as accommodating and as nice as you are! Note to the restaurant management: it would be nice to have protein alternatives for people who do not eat pork/meat such as mushrooms, Hummus, fresh Mozarella cheese...etc

    1. Hostile attitude towards business groups 2. Breakfast ok, dinner poor 3. The waiters are ok in the morning, the evening service at dinner is scandalous - it concerns a woman with long hair tied in a ponytail I DO NOT RECOMMEND! NEVER!

Awesome staff, especially Herr stoykov in the restaurant. Was super helpful when we experienced a bit of a medical issue. Rooms a very clean which is most important to me

Great location, spacious rooms, great restaurant and really good service. The rooms are like apartment's. Kitchen, refrigerator, tons of room and very comfortable beds and a nice balcony. The food in the restaurant was great and the amenities at the hotel like Sauna, Indoor pool and massage make this a special property and one we would stay at again.

Great location of the hotel. Hotel itself is a very well maintained property. The rooms are old school, however everything was working well. Beds are very comfortable. The whole hotel is spotlessly cleaned. Spa is newly renovated, still needs some decorations and final touches. The shower heads are full of limestone and downy work properly. We had dinner in the restaurant, if was very good food. Service was fast and efficient. Food could have been warmer, but I guess that’s personal preference. Overall, for the price I wouldn’t stay there again, however I will visit the restaurant, if I’m in the area.

When i ask waitress if is it possible to pay by card she said yes. I take soup (average taste, 1 slice of bread, lol?) and small beer. Total payment should be 9.60€. When I ask for payment she came and said to me minimum is 20€! Oh really? Why she did not tell me? I ask why she did not tell me that? She was rude after that. Finally she came back and said ok its not a problem to pay less than 20€. Definetly not recommend this restaurant!!!

We will definently come back!!! We loved the hotel and it beautiful location. We had three rooms and they were all lovely. Mine overlooked the main road and the monasery with a mountain view...Couldnt have asked for more! The check-in/check-out staff were super nice and helpful, the spa was wonderful, the breakfast fantastic and the night time gentleman who served us libations was great!!

Food is nice. Service isn't. A lot of room for improvement there, kind of rude, really

My wife had visited the monastery with her family 50 years ago. I wanted to surprise her with another visit and a one night at a hotel near it. I had no prior knowledge of the Klosterhotel - I just hoped it was ok. It turns out, the Klosterhotel was by far the one of the best parts of our 3 week European vacation. It was quiet, far from the bustle of the bigger cities and the scenery was just breathtaking. The rooms are large and the bed was very comfortable. The food (especially Frühstück) was beyond wonderful. Although we do not speak much German - the staff made us feel right at home. We changed our itinerary to come back and stay a second time. Everything was as perfect as our first stay. WE WILL BE BACK! I would encourage anyone to consider a stay at the Klosterhotel. You will not be disappointed!!!

Fantastic hotel. Enjoy the spacious vacation apartments or suites, the great pool and the quiet garden. Great food in the restaurant and above all: wonderful, cordial and welcoming service. It is very clear that the folks here love to host their guests and we all felt very welcome here. Be sure to stay a few days to enjoy the sights, the passion play while feeling that you have a true home away from home -- maybe even a little nicer!

What a beautiful bavarian location. Hotel is old but is clean, crisp and has all modern amenities. Go for the suite with living room and dining room.

We had a lovely time here. The hotel was beautiful. A little outside Garmisch. Quiet, peaceful, and the locals were nice. Not really a lot of tourists, so it was perfect.

OMG Bad! Four of us had lunch and set outside. Impossible bad service unfriendly. I ordered Gulasch and it was super bad. Cold and Not fresh. I suspect the food does only get warmed there. They have no real cook. Kaiserschmarren was very Good. Sausage so so. Schnitzel, we have had much better, much.

Super large room, more like an apartment with a living room, large bathroom, and large bedroom. Probably used to be a monks apartment. Almost too big if anything. Lots of closet space and shelves to unpack into. They have a spa and swimming pool which we did not use. The breakfast was great and varied and plentiful. Went to the Oberammergau play and stayed here. It was a 5-minute bus ride or 1-hour walk depending on which you preferred.

I loved this hotel and would badly return to experience the full range of hospitality it offers. Breakfast on the terrace has to be experienced (preferably quite early before it gets busy) and the waiting staff are efficient and friendly, especially if one attempts to speak a few words of German. From the cleaning-sraff to the reception everyone was welcoming, but a special mention must be made of the (large) late-night porter (the one with the daughter studying in Cork, Ireland), most convivial and has the easy going charm I would associate with Ireland. He was this way with others too. Every hotel needs such a lovable character.

Can't really offer any reason to avoid this hotel if your needing a place to stay when traveling near Oberammergau Germany. Like all hotels we used for lodging during our two week European Vacation the location was convenient, the staff were courteous and attentive, and the food at their attached restaurant was very good. They also have a good sized outdoor seating area where they offer food and beverage service as well.
