Beautiful views and safe sidewalks to run on. I saw a trail that sort of follow the roadway from below but didn’t have the right shoes to go run off-road. I recommend and will return.

Teddy Roosevelt himself marveled at the beauty of this drive on a visit in 1910. A picturesque view of the Illinois River Valley from Peoria Heights. Each season casts its unique perspective on the area and are a beauty to behold. Benches are located along the drive for viewing and picnic tables are there for an outdoor meal with a gorgeous backdrop.

Park in one of the convenient locations along the drive and take a short or not so short walk. Look in one direction and get terrific views of the Illinois River. Look in the other direction and take in some pretty impressive homes. Take a break on one of the benches scattered along the way. The scenery is great year-round, but autumn really kicks things up a notch when the leaves turn.

Grandview drive is just what it's called. If you've never been it runs from prospect road in Peoria Heights to state route 29 by the Illinois river. Winding well maintained road with beautiful river valley views on one side and magnificent houses on the other. Plenty of places to turn off and take in the view or snap some pics of your favorite gal. The drive has quite a history, give it a search and find out how, why and when they made this drive and the surrounding parks. President Roosevelt called it the world's most beautiful drive and WMBD radio and TV picked this up as their call sign, pretty cool. Pictured is the WWI monument.

Teddy Roosevelt purportedly coined the term "World's Most Beautiful Drive" for this stretch of Peoria Heights road with mansions and scenic views of the Illinois River Valley. The local CBS affiliate, WMBD, gets its call letters from the acronym of this phrase. The views are easily one of the best in the area and people from Peoria make frequent use of it for portraits or group photos.

We were part of a group that walked West in Devil's creek about 15 minutes. There we saw some small "Caves" that we could sit in It was a fun trip/walk.

A Beautiful, functional to have a Family get together. Plenty of room for volleyball, grilling, water balloons for the kids and a great pavillion with many picnic tables for eating.

We go to grand drive only about 2 times in a year and that is during fall and Halloween. The majestic homes there are decorated very nicely and the river side looks very surreal during fall with peak colors. Neighbors are very cordial and receptive to visitors.

A highlight of Peoria :) great views of the Illinois River, facing East. Great at Sunrise especially in the fall when all the trees change. 🍂🍂 Lots of little loops for parking and a well-kept sidewalk with tables and benches along the way. There are also a lot of neat mansions to look at opposite the view.

Grandview pavillon needs to be handicap ramps installed to get up to Pavillion, no hand rails to get down steps also.
