We went to the botanical gardens on a whim during our trip to Pereira and it was worth every minute. Most other botanical gardens you just wander around and read plaques, but here there is a knowledgeable tour guide. Alejandro was a wonderful guide, explaining everything from plants to insects to birds. He even brought along binoculars for us! I recommend this place to anyone visiting Pereira!!

Really good walk into the nature if you’re close by. The downside was that if you had a guide you could not take the face-mask off, and there are good trails to enjoy... besides, the point of walking in nature is to breath fresh air, not to be suffocated under the face-mask

Awful! I was told i have to be escorted around this park, i cannot just walk around and sit down to relax. The guy had to just walk with me and watch me. I asked if it was because people were stealing plants and he said no. Its just their policy. I have only known about this system in Cuba or North Korea. I've been to botannical gardens in 43 countries and nobody needs to escort and watch me. please stop this communist system and be social capitalists.

This place is like visiting a jungle but in the middle of a city. It feels safe, it has good walking trails, the sound of birds is lovely and there are plenty of areas where you can take a seat, chilling and contemplating the surroundings. There are just a few drawbacks and are related to some areas that are closer to a Gym and a construction site, so the noise and the music ruins the experience, but the park is quite big, so there are still plenty of areas where you can just stay in a calm environment. At the entrance of the park you have to purchase the entry tickets that cost around COP$12.500 for a Colombian visitor and COP$10.000 for a local visitor ( I am not sure exactly how much it increases for a tourist from another country). The ticket gives you two options for the same price ( that doesn't make much sense for me), option 1: you can ask for a map and take the tour by yourself or option 2: you could wait for a guide that will follow you during the visit and explain about the trees, plants and so on. PS. the guides are not always good in English, so you must know a little bit of Spanish. Final comments The parking lot is small, so if you visit by car, there is a chance to not find space for parking. The experience could take you around 1h - 2h according to your pace. There are some walking trails that are relatively steep or muddy ( according to the weather), so you should take extra care if you visit the park with elderly or young people to avoid accidents.

Such a beautiful place where one can find a lot of species for sale, with good prices and good quality. It has has a very nice side to it, a place where one can observe hummingbirds and other species of birds. Customer service is way above average

THE BOTANICAL GARDEN IS FINE. THE GUIDE WAS PREPARED AND VERY NICE. WE HAD AN ACCIDENT, MY HUSBAN FALL IN THE TRAIL BECAUSE, WAS SO HUMID. The problem was to go out, because some students close the road, and the authorities of the university don't do nothing.

Fantastic place for a visit and walk in the jungle. The best part is that it's right in the city. Quite a bit of bird life around as well.
