I
stayed
in
the
Terrace
Duplex
Suite
in
May
2022.
Overall,
I
had
a
good
experience.
However,
I
would
still
prefer
to
stay
at
other
luxury
hotels
e.g.
the
E&O
Hotel
the
next
time
I
visit
Penang.
Let’s
start
with
the
positives.
I
think
the
design
of
the
hotel
is
just
beautiful.
So
much
love
has
gone
into
restoring
the
place
and
staying
here
really
did
feel
like
travelling
to
a
bygone
era
and
the
antique
furniture
really
gave
the
feeling
I
was
staying
in
a
museum.
It’s
an
amazing
place
to
take
pictures
and
to
experience
the
Peranakan
cultural
heritage
of
Penang.
Upon
arrival,
the
staff
were
very
friendly
and
I
could
tell
that
they
were
proud
to
work
for
the
hotel,
the
staff
member
who
showed
me
around
the
hotel
even
pointed
out
a
framed
picture
of
Prince
Charles’
visit
to
the
hotel.
The
location
is
also
fantastic,
being
situated
right
in
the
heart
of
Georgetown
and
many
tourist
attractions
e.g.
the
Pinang
Peranakan
Mansion,
the
Blue
Mansion,
as
well
as
famous
eateries
are
all
within
walking
distance
of
the
hotel.
The
breakfast
was
decent
-
there
was
a
set
menu
of
a
few
breakfast
options
to
choose
from.
I
usually
opted
for
the
pancakes
and
my
mother
opted
for
the
full
English
breakfast.
The
food
tasted
good
and
the
portion
was
enough
for
me,
although
I
don’t
think
it
is
worth
spending
an
extra
RM100
a
night
for
breakfast,
since
it
is
not
a
full
spread
buffet
like
other
hotels
in
the
same
price
range.
The
room
itself
was
very
spacious,
with
a
large
living
room
and
bathroom.
It
had
a
very
nice
floral
scent
because
of
the
diffusers
placed
in
the
room.
The
bathroom
had
a
large
shower
area
with
a
rainfall
shower
head,
as
well
as
a
normal
shower
hose.
The
sink
had
ample
space
to
place
your
toiletries.
The
hotel
also
provided
many
interesting
magazines
to
read
that
are
related
to
Peranakan
culture.
Personally,
the
highlight
for
me
was
the
bed.
The
mattress
was
nice
and
firm
and
the
pillow
was
neither
too
soft
nor
too
firm.
Easily
one
of
the
most
comfortable
hotel
beds
I
have
ever
experienced.
Despite
the
above,
I
would
still
prefer
to
stay
in
other
luxury
hotels.
The
main
reason
for
this
is
the
level
of
service.
I
was
disappointed
to
find
that
basic
hotel
amenities
were
not
provided
e.g.
body
lotion,
bathrobes,
slippers,
face
towels.
When
my
mother
requested
for
kaya
with
her
breakfast,
the
staff
responded
that
they
did
not
have
kaya,
which
was
embarrassing
given
that
the
hotel
is
supposed
to
showcase
Peranakan
culture.
When
serving
tea,
the
staff
often
forgot
to
provide
a
serving
spoon
with
my
teacup.
On
the
whole,
the
level
of
service
is
definitely
far
from
the
standard
of
other
luxury
hotels.
I
felt
we
were
often
said
‘no’
to
instead
of
the
staff
working
hard
to
accommodate
the
requests
of
customers.
Moreover,
the
room
did
not
have
proper
room
service
and
you
couldn’t
order
food
from
the
Kebaya
Dining
Room
to
your
hotel
room
because
they
do
not
do
a-la
carte.
For
the
price
that
the
Seven
Terraces
is
charging,
I
would
rather
stay
elsewhere
simply
because
of
the
service.
The
facilities
were
also
disappointing.
The
swimming
pool
was
rather
small
and
they
did
not
have
basic
hotel
facilities
e.g.
a
gym,
spa,
etc.
In
terms
of
the
room
itself,
I
did
not
like
the
staircase
that
led
to
the
bedroom.
The
stairs
felt
too
small
and
a
little
uneven
and
someone
could
easily
trip
and
fall
down.
Our
suitcases
were
placed
downstairs,
which
made
it
quite
inconvenient
to
pack
/
unpack
things
in
the
upstairs
bedroom.
The
duvet
provided
felt
musty
and
smelly,
as
if
it
had
not
been
washed.
There
were
not
enough
power
sockets
in
the
bedroom
to
charge
your
phone,
tablet,
laptop,
etc
and
there
was
no
proper
study
desk.
There
was
also
one
night
where
I
heard
a
lot
of
music
coming
from
the
buildings
around
the
hotel.
