Had a pleasant stay during my 5 days business trip last week. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room are spacious and neatly cleaned. My plus point is that they Collab with local product to be place in the rooms! The breakfast was ok, due to the current pandemic, guest need to order your breakfast a day before and collect them the next morning. There's a lot of walking distance shops and food stall, and there's a shopping mall close by, very convenient. Looking forward to another stay soon.

Enjoyed my stay here at this hotel! Super convenient for those, like me whose family member was an impatient in the Sunway Medical Centre next door! I heard from my Dad that this hotel has been established years back, and still well maintained. The room was clean and spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable. Except for the smell of smoke as you stepped out of lift walking towards the room. Other than this, all were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful, guided me patiently to check-in myself at the portal. Will definitely stay here again in future.

Modern. Stylish. Convenient. Another top hotel here in Penang. Well maintained establishment. Friendly and helpful staff member. Ideal for family or your partner. Maybe it lacks several things to be the best but it's okay. Need to focus more on the things that make your hotel well respected and famously known. Anyway, overall it was good and smooth for me and my family. Well done.

Stayed for 3 nights. Check in was smooth and rooms services need to be reminded with few calls (just to request drinking water). Breakfast was vry simple as if this was a budget hotel. Paid 300++ for each night. Very disappointed with this hotel. Prefer to stay across the road at The light Hotel.

The location was good. Check in process was smooth. The mattress was too hard for me. Having hard time to sleep. Hotel was simple (for a renowned Sunway Group properties). Breakfast was too simple. Overall, it is quite disappointing. Not value for money.

Checking in was smooth. Front desk was able to answer all questions. Room service was fast. Asked for additional pair of amenities and got them in less than 5 minutes. The entrance to the parking area is quite narrow, due to construction of sunway med centre next to the hotel.

I went for official visit in Penang, Malaysia for one week and we stay at Sunway Hotel. We really spend very good time over there. They have very good services and food also very good there. We really enjoy. Recommend and thanks to Sunway Team.

Clean n nice room. I think they have done some refurbishment. Due to covid only pre packed food for breakfast. I think this hotel not recognize Bahasa Malaysia. All document/notice no BM. What a shame.

I used to come here back in 2018-2019 and it was not bad then. Hotel is aging but was acceptable. I returned again March 2022, things seemed to be quite different this time. Below are the summary. The good: 1. Still maintain a good cleanliness overall 2. Included Tanamera series of soaps in the room which was real nice. The bad: 1. I missed the entrance twice because of the confusing road works due to the construction of the hospital. I understand theres nothing to be done as the hospital is currently at its final phase (since Jan 2022 though). 2. At first glance it felt as if Sunway Hotel is heading towards budget hotel route. i. Self check-in machines that made you do all the work yourself. And it was real slow and required an assistance from the staff (Kind of defeating the purpose) One of then ran out of paper but the screen was just blank as if it was loading and that also took a bit of time. That awkward silence. ii. Vending machines does give a lot of convenience but it gives a different kind vibes (Budget Hotel) iii. Packed breakfast with limited choices. That just means cost cutting but sugar coated with pandemic. 3. Ok this one is funny but I used to come here because of the tambun biscuits. It was a sweet gesture especially after a long day of work. I missed it. 4. Double bed was actually made up of 2 single beds. Again contributing to point no. 2. Overall I just felt the this hotel is trying to reduce the hospitality part of the business when the major selling point for a hotel of this standard is always about its hospitality. I just didn’t feel as welcomed as I did back then. Probably have to reconsider the next time.

This hotel could have been nice if the front desk/reception staff were better trained. I stayed for several nights on different occasions in June 2023. Checking in during my first visit was fine with a friendly lady attending to me. However, during my second stay, a "gentleman" by the name of HAFIZ was very rude and arrogant to boot! This person should not be working at reception and definitely should NOT be in the hospitality business. He was rude and terse from the second we made contact. We arrived at 2.30 pm, and when I said, "Hello, we're here to check in.", he didn't even bother to look up from what he was doing. Instead he quickly wrote our confirmation number on a tiny piece of paper and told us to check in at a machine in the lobby. We told him on our previous visits , we've never had to use any machines and he just dismissed us rudely. We pointed out that we wanted the other lady receptionist who was there, to check us in but he said "NO, she's busy". Huh?? No she wasn't! The lobby was completely empty and she was just standing there doing nothing. The hotel is not doing themselves justice with him on staff ! Other points of my discontent with this hotel is the the fixed AC thermostat in rooms on the higher floors (floor 13,14). No matter how low you set the temperature, it's always stuck at 22C! Breakfast was also not good, especially the bread counter where guests dipped dirty knifes in the big jars of jam & kaya. Safe to say, I will NOT return to this hotel and will stay across the street at the Light Hotel next time I'm back in Sberang Jaya.

Surrounding area are under construction. Their parking space are limited. But, once all parking is occupied you can park at the back area of the hotel. The hotel cafe are closed due to the pandemic, its either to drive out to find place to eat or can order food via grab. For breakfast we can order upon check in and collect from the cafe in the morning. I requested for late check out due to my meetings ended late. Great part is the staff able to attend to my request. Overall their service is very good.

As expected under Sunway Group standards, however the food at their restaurant especially during breakfast is getting ridiculously limited and practically not much choices, literally the same every morning. Turnaround table services were poor until I had to take my own cutleries set from their prepping counters. Was made aware that the catering services were outsourced instead of in-house.

The service is good, the staff is polite and helpful. The hotel room and the toilet are also very clean which is good for an OCD like me. The breakfast that is included with the hotel room is also satisfyingly delicious. However they should do something about the carpet they used. Since their floor is covered with carpet, it gave out a musty damp smell. For someone with a sensitive nose like me who easily smells things, it kinda disturbs me. The parking for the hotel is free despite it looks like you need to use your TnG card. And it is also limited. If the parking is full, you need to park beside the hotel, at the medical centre parking. Which is quite a hassle actually especially during rain.

The hotel so clean and well maintained. Security good in helping to find parking. Parking is free. Staff also good. Hotel give us bigger room with a lot of accomodation and free item. The room and bathroom very spacious, comfortable cw air purifier, drink maker, fridge, safe box etc. Free wifi and breakfast. But no Swimming pool. Easy to shopping and eating nearby as the location in the middle of town.

I came here for lunch. The hotel offers two sets of lunch - executive set (main course, dessert and drink) at RM18++ and business set (salad, main course, dessert and drink) at RM25++. For the main course, it has two choices - Asian and western style. I chose Asian style for my main course which consisted of kampung fried rice and satay. As for dessert, I went for chocolate cake and yam ice cream and pink guava as my preferred drink. Overall, the food was quite nice.

I was somewhat skeptical when the office booked this hotel instead of The Light hotel right across the road but I was delightfully surprised. I arrived at the hotel at around 1130pm, dead tired from driving long distance and was professionally greeted by the front office. Since I was travelling with my husband, she politely asked me if I mind a twin bed, and I said yes I do mind and would prefer a king bed instead. Without wasting any minute, she upgraded me to a suite since no other king bed configuration are available that night. Sure the room has no view (it faces the Sunway Medical Centre) but it is impeccably clean and spacious. The suite comes with a small living area, with complimentary snacks and drinks from the minibar, and an air purifier. The parking space can be a tad congested but throughout our stay there, we were assisted by the security officers. They will ensure that we will always have a parking space regardless of the time. Plus point is that we were given a covered parking spot throughout our stay. The service provided by the staff is absolutely wonderful. On our last day there, I accidentally left my watch in the room - I wouldn't realise that my watch is missing if it wasn't for the front office staff who called me. He was very helpful and even provided me with an option to courier it for me. Kudos to the management - it is not easy to find and train good staff like the ones I've encountered throughout my stay. Thank you Sunway Seberang Jaya, will visit again whenever I am in Penang.

Parking is very limited especially after 7pm, may not get a parking. Checked on room 314, Room cleaningless, and hygiene is a joke. When check in, there was a big patch of chili or tomato sauce next to the door holder area ( from room inside).Wash room sink was jammed. Room mantainance supervisor or manager are either sleeping or not perform their responsibility, to make sure their staffs doing the job properly. Breakfast variety has reduced compared before Covid pandemic but still acceptable.

Location was good next to medical centre & shopping mall. Room was ok clean and tidy. However, the breakfast was too plain, limited choices, and it taste bad too. As 4 stars hotel, one would expect the food up to a certain standard (at least coffee brew from a coffee machine for example) but this is so unbelievable & disappointed.

Great value three star hotel with guarded and CCTV'ed open car parks. Buffet breakfast is only RM31.50. Delicious main dishes but the stir fried pasta and nasi lemak sambal are too sweet. Good jug coffee but with cold milk only. Nice bread slices but only with margarine and no butter or jam. Unripe pineapples. No swimming pool.

Very dissapointed with the service and will not return to this property. After long hours drive, they requested us to do self a check in, which took a while to complete. Hotel refused to issue us an invoice or receipt, reason is because we have booked the room via a third party website. We NEVER have any problem with other hotels and already explained to the Duty manager that it is for us to submit to finance. Third party website e-receipt doesn't have a proper receipt/invoice no. However, the hotel doesn't understand. Breakfast service was horrible, the server name sim was rude. Nobody bring us to our table, and she questioned us when we seated ourselves.

The room given to me was dirty. There have been hairs and stains in the bed. They have changed my room and the Bed was again dirty. Changed to another room which needed to be cleaned first. All that in the middle of the night ahead a day with lots of meetings. Needed to edit. I have added a picture of the fridge in the third room. This hotel has serious issues providing a clean room to the guests.

I stay in this hotel every time I come to Penang because of the hotel room, service and location is satisfactory. Sadly the breakfast is a real disappointment. The quality and choice of the breakfast is absolutely not value for money. Noted many reviews given and management response but hardly notice any improvements.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sunway Hotel during my study trip, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is absolutely stunning. Situated right in the middle of convenient stores and restaurants and even a shopping mall. Waking up to the view of the city line and enjoying the sunset from my big window was a truly unforgettable experience. The hotel's staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the prompt room service, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests, making me feel like a valued guest. Speaking of the rooms, they were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The comfortable bed provided a restful night's sleep, and the modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi added convenience and entertainment. One highlight of my stay was the hotel's dining options. The on-site restaurant offered a wide array of delicious dishes, catering to different tastes. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, with a diverse selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and made-to-order omelets. The attentive staff made sure that all dietary preferences were accommodated. The hotel's facilities were also top-notch. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing me to maintain my workout routine and it operates 24 hours! The pool area was another favorite spot of mine, with comfortable loungers and a poolside bar providing a perfect setting for relaxation. Lastly, the hotel's attention to detail was commendable. The cleanliness of the premises was consistently maintained, and the overall ambiance was elegant and inviting. Additionally, the efficient housekeeping staff ensured that my room was always neat and tidy. In conclusion, my experience at the Sunway Hotel was exceptional. The picturesque location, attentive staff, comfortable rooms, delectable dining options, and excellent facilities all contributed to a memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

Sunway SJ is now our regular family hotel. We used to live nearby, but moved outstation a couple of years ago. We now travel back once or twice a year. Our stay last week has been as great as ever. We loved the location, so very near to Sunway Carnival and minutes away from local delicacies in ChaiLeng park. Special shout out to a security guard (Bhim). His smile and hospitality beats most front office staff we met in other hotels. Kudos to the team, we will be back soon.

I order the food from the room service and found out the food. Is actually a grab food. And the price of the food is hotel price. Moreover, they want me to go down to pick up the food myself. I really felt cheated as they didn't informed me earlier.

The hotel is definitely well and strategically located. Sunway Medical Center next door. And walking distance to the Sunway Carnival Mall and Billion Supermarket, Nasi Kandar restaurants, banks and convenient stores. The hotel was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Ample car park and complimentary after you validate your parking ticket, or your Touch n Go card. As you enter the lobby, your nose will immediately pick up the smell of lemon grass in the air. Calming effect for me. And known to keep away the mosquitoes. The staffs, including the security guards, are warm, friendly and very helpful. R. Dasa at the Front Office, in particular whom I believe deserves mention, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel and the Seberang Jaya town. The room given to me faced the Light Hotel and KWSP building. Further in the background is a beautiful view of the Penang Bridge and Penang Island. The room and bathroom are clean and well maintained. The blackout curtains made the room totally pitch dark for a great sleeping experience. The strong water pressure and nice hot water made showering great. The gymnasium located on Level 1A which opens 24 hours is very well equipped. That helped me not miss my daily cardio and weights workout before breakfast. My daughter and I had breakfast at the Soulutions CafΓ© located in the lobby. There was Nasi Lemak, Fried Char Koay Teow, Congee, Noodles and Soup, Salad, Egg Station, Cereal and bread. Only two choice of juices and three choices of fruits. There are also Bread Butter Pudding (which is a bit hard and taste more like eating a muffin) and Banana Cake. Not much of a variety or a luxurious spread but suffice for a quick sumptuous breakfast to last until lunch. Having served as Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia from 2005-2008, Sunway Hotel Phnom Penh has been my preferred hotel to host and entertain my guests and colleagues. Since 1998, I have stayed in the Sunway Resort Hotel, Sunway Pyramid Hotel, Sunway Phnom Penh and Sunway Velocity. And on 22-23 October 2023 at the Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya. I believe that I am very familiar with the Sunway Hotel brand. And it has always lived up to beyond my expectations.

Staying there 2 nights from 5/5-7/5. It was a satisfying stays. Bring elderly (parents) and the hotel security guard was really helpful with the provision of wheelchair. The checkin checkout process was smooth. Request for a connecting room and they able to fulfill. However there was a construction beside of the hotel but not disturbing. The hotel was meant for an express and touch n go stays not for the staycation mode as there is no swimming pool to enjoy.

The location was great as it was near Sunway Carnival Mall and other restaurants so it was easy to find food around the hotel. The construction next door and along the pathway to the Sunway Carnival Mall does not look safe for an evening stroll and the outlook of the hotel. The room was comfortable, spacious and also clean. Breakfast is packed during Phase 2 of PPN. However, my toilet had a strong BO smell that stayed during my 2 nights stay there.

Basic hotels. In need of better customer service and the atmosphere at the hotel just dull. Oh please ditch the vending machine at the lobby area it just shout cheap hotel.. if you guys into iot or any automation make sure hire a good person that can work with your marketing and branding team on branding the machine or work on much interesting method of using the machine. May be you guys can make it look like inside a close cabinet or walk in area. When you guys just put the machine without any effort to make it fits well with the hotel area it just not right. It just make the hotels look like budget hotel more than 4 star as stated.

Please be aware of anyone staying here if you want to use their laundry service as they are having hidden charges. After you want to check out only they show you the laundry extra charging fees when you have complimentary laundry service. Also, they do not provide any daily laundry receipts to your room! Charge extra laundry fees without any further/upfront information for the long-stay customers. They only choose to charge for the expensive pieces for your clothes, what a clever choice ever Sunway Hotel, big claps for you!

Both Sunway Hotels Georgetown and Seberang Jaya are the cleanest in Penang. Service and facilities were exceptional. Very well-managed despite the old-looking facade. The only downside is the parking availability. For a 4-star hotel of 202 rooms and 80% occupancy rate, the number of parking spots doesn't add up. You may need to park at the shoplots or asked to wait till 6 p.m onwards for empty slots πŸ˜….

2nd stay in this hotel, satisfy with my stay. Room was comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. They are using tanamera products, also good sanitary ware in bath room. There is a supermarket when you walk down the street, before reaching the shopping mall. This hotel consider convenient for breastfeeding mom, they helped to store my breastmilk in fridge and ice block in freezer after check out, collected it before my trip back to kl. Housekeeping staff Naswati remembered my preference although my previous stay was a week ago, khairy and dana (the concierge staff), Stephanie and the rest who I don't remember their name did their effort to make it a wonderful stay in this hotel. Would like to stay here again.

There was one time they upgraded me to suite room due to their small indiligence. Thanks! It seems they are very well trained when handling issue with their customer. Though you see the building look old /ran down, but its cleanliness is at another level. Sometimes I tried to inspect, especially in the shower room and toilet, but rarely found flaw. Good place to stay with convenience of nearby mall, supermarket and restorant. The hotel staff in friendly and food during breakfast is decent. But they always fail at half boiled egg... Room is good with adequate TV channel, comfortable bed and hot shower always working with good water pressure. I don't like the shampoo and body shampoo provided though. Overall nice hotel to stay expecially for business trip. Only I always felt irritated with the auto check in system. Slow and some time unrensponsive.
