I'm so glad I decided to take a ride and try the Barge Restaurant and Banquet Faculity. Its located across from the Arthur Kill Waterways in Perth Amboy. There is a patio and indoor seating. I chose indoor seating because they were construction crews working at the time of my visit. The Barge restaurant has been around since 1925.It’s mostly seafood but they do have a nice selection of Soups, salads, burgers, wraps, steak, pasta and chicken. My review is based on lunch only. I chose for my entree the Broiled Scallops. I was surprised I receive 13 scallops for a lunch entree. Came with a house salad, and a choice of a side.I choose a baked potato. My scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked. My salad was crisp and a nice size. My friend ordered their Lobster Salad Wrap. She had a choice of sides and chose their potato salad. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The barge offers an extensive list of desserts, So many that they couldn’t list all of them on their menu. I had to scan the rest on to my iphone. for dessert I chose their Chambord Parfait, With vanilla ice cream layered Chambord and fresh whipped cream. This is where willpower comes in and I only had a couple of scoops it was that good. Second dessert I chose was their Crème Brûlée.It too was very good with a very creamy custard interior, and a hard shell on the exterior. It was just waiting to be crack with my spoon. Whipped cream was piped on the side of the dessert. The interior of the Barge is your typical nautical theme, with blue walls and nautical wallpaper as you walk in.There are white linens on all tables. The tables are distanced apart. The staff was very nice and friendly. They did their best to accommodate us at the time. The service was a bit slow, so I’m giving them four stars. I think they needed more waiters. This restaurant has two dining rooms which are spread out.The Barge restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Next time I come I'd like to sit outside on the patio and take in the views of the waterways. When you’re finished take a stroll on the pier that’s across the street.

White linen tablecloths. Classy feel though relaxed at lunch. Treated my mom to her fave place. Prices are very reasonable for seafood, great view and great quantity. Loved it! Walked after along water front, view of NY. Delightful experience.

Had some of the biggest oysters of my life here. They were delicious. Ordered the lobster seafood combo which was broiled and came with 1/2 a Maine lobster, scallops, shrimp, stuffed clam and tilapia. Lobster was a little overcooked but the scallops were cooked perfectly. Nice ambience looking out at the bay. Would come here again.

Simply wow! We found this place next to a big "free public parking" lot right by the water. The service, food and ambiance were top notch! We enjoyed the Special Shore Dinner and the Cioppino. The food kept coming and was staged perfectly. We did not feel rushed and the food was delicious. We sat inside but there was outdoor seating available. Depending on the tide and the direction of the wind, this may or may not be a good option. After dinner walk on the pier was a perfect way to end the evening out. We're going to be regulars for sure.

During my visit here, I ordered the sirloin steak. Those who I dined with ordered sole francais and chicken tenders and fries (which was not initially on the menu, but the staff complied to our wishes). We all had very positive reviews on all aspects of the experience. Although not 5-star level worthy, it was an enjoyable dinner and I would certainly recommend.

I had the seafood special and blue point oysters and my entire meal was awesome. Adam was a excellent server and it was a nice peaceful dinner I plan to go back often and I have a new favorite seafood restaurant. I recommend The Barge to everyone!

Nice location, friendly staff. The cioppino was a little too tomatoey, but the seafood integrity was great. Not a place for vegetarians...Greek salad, mozzarella sticks and potato and a side of veggies are the only choices.

It's been a while since we visited this restaurant and we were not disappointed in their lobster dinner last night! It was the best! Lobster was cooked just right and the stuffing was excellent PLUS all the other stuff that came with the Shore Dinner!

All the food is bland, no seasoning at all! We had the French onion soup which not good. Oysters Rockefeller was horrible. Reuben was decent.Waiter was friendly. Location is convenient to waterfront.

This is by far is our favorite restaurant ever! We have celebrated some of our favorite moments here. We have brought family and friends here and they have always enjoyed the food, the view of the marina from the windows and the impeccable service. While my husband enjoys the broiled salmon and the kids the lobster and crab legs, me being the only vegetarian love the Greek salad. The house wine is always great and the crème brûlée outstanding! Highly recommend
