Attended an event here tonight. The birthday girl had purchased a package where guests received free flow for a 2 hour period. During this period, the venue was understaffed and guests did not receive drinks within an appropriate time frame.The manager was extremely rude and dismissed any concerns. He was extremely angry and could not handle his emotions - raising his voice at guests for no reason. Felt very unsafe and will not be coming back . **EDIT** At no point during the night was I refused service. This comment by The Aviary is blatantly untrue and only attempts to discredit and manipulate my genuine experience. I have reached out via email to the venue however am yet to hear back.

Really enjoyed the cocktails here! Bar was pumpin with patrons, live DJ is always a good addition, bar/wait staff were great - attentive and friendly. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the menu and the venue layout.

It's for the roof. Great music often from the early 2000s, occasionally live music. Large bar area with a good selection of beers. Sit under a palm tree, or look out over the main shopping street in Perth. They've got a dance floor as well that they prepare during later hours. Good idea to get their fries as a snack, can also recommend their ribs and the satay chicken (but not the squid). The music can be a little loud (dont expect having a conversation after 6-7 pm), and it's usually crowded on late nights (can take 10 min or so to reach the bar).

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME Last Friday I attended this venue and was having a good time, until………… Several security persons from Vault Security approached our small group for no apparent reason and requested that we leave the premises. We were not acting in any anti-social manner and had not been causing any trouble at all. I had a fresh drink which had only just been purchased and I asked to either be allowed to finish it before leaving or obtain a refund (reasonable request you would think). Apparently not, because at this instant, a heavy-set female security person lunged at me and forcefully grabbed the drink from my hand and smashed the glass to the ground without any regard for the safety of other patrons. This was a reckless, aggressive and unprovoked attack. We then moved toward the exit as requested and as I was making my way down the stairs a male security person nudged me in the back. I believe this was a deliberate attempt to have me lose my balance to fall down the stairs. This same individual then attempted a foot sweep once off the stairs to again try to have me trip over. These actions were also reckless and unnecessary and could have resulted in serious injury. I hope that management review the footage from the evening and re-assess their security arrangements.

I have been there for my annual Christmas party. I loved the rooftop bar with all the amazing green decorations and water fountains to make the atmosphere cool and refreshing in summer. Food was good , staff was superb.

The Aviary has such wow factor that we keep coming back. Nothing more perfect than sitting up high with a cocktail on a warm summers night! The staff are all friendly and it has such a relaxed vibe up top. The loveliest rooftop bar in Perth for sure.

I used to enjoy going out to The Aviary, until they hired new staff and especially this one security girl who's really rude to anyone and so impolite. One of the "local" client litteraly push me on the floor and as i tried to defend myself and get rid of this guy, the staff menber throw me out of the bar and admit a bit later to my mates " we had to throw her out because the other guys were local and not her. Even if it wasn't her fault, we had to." Just avoid her if you go there!!! extremelly disapointed

Absolutely excellent. The aesthetics of the location were brilliant, food was delicious, and drinks were great. Staff were friendly as always and happy to do their best for us. They went and found us a bottle of chilli sauce after we asked. The food deal and happy hour for drinks on at the moment is great, will be back countless times for sure! Love this deal, wish it were on forever! Really improved since last time. Can't wait to come back for a feed and drink!

The bar manager refused to serve me drinks and when I asked why he told me “because you’re arguing”. When talking to my friends about it a very rude bouncer said “he has to leave” and came towards me like she wanted to attack me. Very bad experience, unwelcoming, aggressive staff with an arrogant, rude and unprofessional bar manager. There are so many good clubs in Perth don’t waste your time there.

Found the bouncer Anna to be extremely aggressive and unreasonable. Had a few run in with her. Notified the staff after noticing cockroach on top of the free water glasses / jugs. Highly disappointing unless you want roaches. Note the security guards name was Anna. Beware

This place never disappoints!! I came on here to leave a good review about my experience from the weekend, but saw how much hate the security have been getting. I have been to this place a few times and hands down the most pleasant security I have ever encountered. Always get greated with a smile, feel welcome and safe. Shout out to the taller female security guard making sure me and my two girl friends got out of the venue and to the taxi rank safely. Have seen her and the rest of the team go above and beyond before, when I know a lot of others wouldn’t. Just wish people understood they don’t have an easy job telling people no when they don’t know themselves when enough is enough. Keep up the good work guys! On another note, sharing a few jugs of Feel Good inc with a few friends on the rooftop with a awesome DJ is the place to be on a weekend.

This review is specifically for the private event staff and service. The two male bar staff (not the girl, she was nice) created a strangely strict and hostile vibe at a recent Christmas event I attended there. I arrived there fairly sober and asked for a drink, but was told I needed to “slam a pint of water, brother" before I could drink my seltzer. I tried playing along, drinking what I could at the bar without being awkward for about 2 or 3 minutes. I looked around and noticed everyone else who ordered were told similar things. It was odd since everyone was quite civil, no unruly behaviour. It just seemed like this long-haired bartender was on a power trip. I could tell he thought he’s good at his job, but his ability to think rationally, create a fun environment and to deal with people over the age of 19 need serious improvement. The same party was held there a year earlier and the staff were much better. I wonder if he was a part of that team? Something had definitely changed in a bad way. The security staff were all really nice and reasonable, but outside of that I felt unwelcome and I’m sure many others did as well. Also, food should be served in a staggered way, not all at the beginning to then get cold and clammy over the next 3 hours. I am assuming this was done to not pay extra staff to heat or serve the food, but any short term savings you've made here just result in us collectively telling everyone we know that we had a bad experience. This choice is probably not the wisest one in the long term.

Great place with a wide variety of drinks and foods. I always have a good time over there. I strongly recommend it.

Great venue to enjoy all occasions, whether it be a function, engagement or Birthday downstairs on level 1 or to join the party on the rooftop. As well as its well priced drinks and great cocktails the Aviary has a fantastic location in the heart of the CBD.

Wow!!! What a Beautiful Night on The Roof!!! My niece had the best time celebrating her 18th Birthday on the Rooftop last saturday night. We had the warmest welcoming from security downstairs and upstairs. The Managers greeted us with open arms and all the staff we encountered were so attentive to our every needs. The beautiful looking food came out on time and tasted wonderful. You can tell the kitchen has pride in their work, thank you.The atmosphere felt safe and easy to enjoy throughout the night. Thank you for a wonderful night Aviary Crew my niece said she will never forget it. ❤

Cool venue

Nice and refreshing design, good cocktails bit pricey but they worth it. Good music on Weekends. Happy hour real good bargains. Lovely, friendly and helpful stuff, especially Chloe and Kobe. Such professionals and positive energy vibe. Thanks guys will be defo back!!!

Customer service is off the effing chain! What is happening?! We were served water and given popcorn refills without so much as the bat of an eyelash.If I owned a business, I would figure out how much the staff were being paid so I could pay them more and steal them all.

Had the rudest person deliver our food and drinks, not once but three times. Slamming food and drinks on the table and leaving without asking if we needed anything else. Cocktail jug was plain, no garnish, just a bunch of ice. Used to be a great place for drinks and pizza but the service we received was disgusting. Please do better!

Beautiful lil roof top bar , good was delicious, well presented and priced pretty reasonable. Smart casual dress, trendy music and friendly staff. If u dont want to climb jacobs ladder of stairs take the lift 😅 Well worth the visit ..will definitely eat and drink here again.

Nice view. Setup and environment is pretty smart too. Ordering my margarita wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but that could have been my fault. The 3 stars is for how bad it was. Lacked any citrus zing, really quite flat and dull. Presented well, tasted boring. Ahh well.

Held our xmas work-do at The Aviary. About 25 people. We had a private area to the right of the bar sectioned off all to ourselves. Although a cool night and situated on a rooftop, this area is still undercover and therefore we weren't cold at all. For $50 a head we had 6 -8 large trays of hot finger food brought out to us in intervals. We bought our own drinks at the bar, despite there being a card on our tables to scan and order drinks and have them brought to us - but it didn't work, which was disappointing. Even when we told staff, they said it was switched off (why???). Beef sliders, zucchini sliders, mini aracinis, nori rolls, mini zucchini balls with Mayo, mini corn balls with avocado...the food was delicious and we couldn't eat it all there was so much. The service staff were friendly and smiling. My only complaint is the volume of the music in our function area and how hard it is to talk/hear with it so loud. In a function area you shouldn't have it as loud, so people can talk (I'm not saying have it soft.. I understand it's a pub and music is entertainment). Overall, very happy with our night - thankyou!

One of my old favourite bars... There's something magical about sipping cocktails on a rooftop. Also love that they do cocktail jugs. The food is not bad on the rooftop either. Lots of tables/seats. Can get quite busy on the weekends. Happy hour is between 5-6pm.

Would highly not recommend having functions here... this place doesn’t like younger crowds. As soon as your function is over they kick you out saying that everyone is too drunk even though they are not even though we have spent around $3000 for the function room and over the bar. This has happen every time I’ve been to a birthday here and I’ve heard from other people the same thing has happen to them. If you’re turning 21 and want to have your birthday here.Don’t do it. Other than that the bar staff were friendly but slow & the function host is always good.

Organising my engagement party here couldn’t have been made easier! Natalie helped us so so much, replied quickly and was very organised and on top of everything.

A heavy set female security guard was unnecessarily rude to me and my friends for no reason. I can't say I'm interested in coming back to the Aviary as this 'event' put a damper on the whole night :(

I've been to The Aviary a few times, accompanying friends. Tonight the vibe of the overall establishment was way more comfortable, fun... Every single staff member was inviting, friendly. This experience has ensured I return on my own behalf.

6/03/2021 Night. There is a difference between doing your job and abuse of power. I was about to attended a friend 20 Birthday venue and i was having a good time, until a male security persons approached our small group in the waiting line, We were not acting in any anti-social manner and had not been causing any trouble at all. He refused to listen to me, asked us so many questions, and told me i had glasses eye, I told him I was wearing contact I can easily remove them if you don't believe me. We was denied entrance, what I found very offensive security didn't even bother to ask any questions to anyway else behind us, and welcome couple of people in, that they can't even walk straight. It felt like a homophobic attack, I was humiliating and degrading and straight up rude and unprofessional.

Had an amazing time at the aviary!! They helped myself and my friend do much with our drinks. Thank you do much to Emily.A. and Jo. Best drinks ever!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

March 6th, Saturday night. Had a very unpleasant experience with a female security staff member at the entrance. Was lining up with 3 of my friends at the front of the line, scanning into the Safe WA app. When i leaned in to scan the QR code in front of us, I could hear her yelling out "JUST WAIT. STOP AND WAIT". I did not think she was talking to me as i was standing still in the line, just trying to scan in. When I looked up she was yelling at me "I told you to wait. Why aren't you listening to me? You are being SO RUDE by leaning next to this person. You need to listen to me and wait." My friends and I were confused and explained that we were all together. She was still quite aggressive and said "Well it would have been SO RUDE if this person was a stranger and you leaned in front of them. Next time you need to stop and listen to me." I just said oh sorry, and she responded with, "Next time you need to listen to me". The bar service & drinks were great. Loved the music, the view & live trumpet player. Was also super impressed at how quickly broken glass on the dance floor was cleaned up by the staff. I was so looking forward to coming here but the interaction was so unnecessarily aggressive and honestly left me a bit upset for the rest of the night.

Great place in the city of Perth Western Australia to chat on top of the city , rooftop bar , great array of drinks on tap , and pleasant surroundings.

The Aviary is a beautiful venue, had my birthday brunch and it was perfect. Best brunch in town I must say. Amazing and hospitable service. Staff are very helpful, kind and accommodated us as we were running late. Thank you Evey (sorry if i wrote your name wrong🫣) your service was exceptional. Will definitely be back soon 🙏

The atmosphere was amazing, we had the rooftop for a friend's birthday. Evey was really helpful and friendly. The best brunch in Perth in my opinion.

Ordered a pizza from them at a very late time last night and the Aviary staff bought out extra napkins and plates when the server noticed that one more than one individual would be eating. They also let us eat in the cordoned off area when they noticed that there wasn’t anywhere else to eat. Good pizza and the venue has good vibes and music

This was the second time my friends and I chose to catch up at the aviary for brunch and it didn’t disappoint! The service was wonderful, and we had a fabulous time. Many thanks to the staff, especially ‘sleighin’ (Amy) for making our day so fun :)

Beautiful place to spend a nice sunny day. This rooftop bar gives a great view and always has a nice breeze on a hot day. We recently had a function here and were very impressed with the whole team. All the staff (from the manager to the bar and wait staff) were absolutely amazing and made us feel so welcomed. We loved that they walked each plate of food around first before setting it down. Our guests loved the food - it was so delicious they made many compliments about it. Whether it is a casual day out or a function, we couldn't recommend The Aviary enough.

The service on arrival could do with some work. Our food came out to the table cold. Our cocktails were waiting on the bar for about 15 mins before I got up to go and grab them. Needs some work as there are a lot of boozy brunch places in Perth that are far better. Positive was the venue was decorated beautifully.

We booked a table and pre-ordered food for a party of 15 people. When we arrived, there was only one bar tender serving soft drinks. We weren't told that we had to pay first before the cook would start cooking! It was office lunch hour, weren't they expecting us? Food tasted very ordinary with uneven portions for the same dish, pricy, served by one server only, and some people waited a long while for their lunches! Don't go there for food!

I was on a night out with my friends at the beautiful rooftop bar, the Aviary, when we approached the bar for drinks. We were greeted with two very opposite individuals. One, was blonde, and the other was purple. Blonde was professional, efficient and made mind blowing mojitos. Purple on the other hand was slow, obstructive and rude. Purple was deliberately mean to blonde by barking orders at her while she was making cocktails, and by taking things out of blonde’s hand before she could use them. In the time it took for blonde to make five cocktails, purple had poured a single beer. Blonde deserves a medal. Purple deserves a demotion.

The BEST!!!! Very friendly staff and the the vibe very instagramble, theres no boring space in here evry corner has its own character, very aesthetic ❤ alot of people having a good time. Price is reasonably cheap, very delicious chips and BEER! Visit them now!!!

Ice cold Swan Draught. Could possibly offer a better selection of tap beers, maybe a stout or porter on tap for the winter months, just a thought. Food was amazing! I was blown away by the Bang Bang Chicken which was incredibly memorable, and the chips are some of the best I've ever tasted! I'm not sure what they put in that seasoning but damn it was tasty. Highly recommend this roof top bar.

Our friends suggested Happy Hour for drinks on a Saturday and we booked a table for 4pm (Happy hour starts at 4.30). Prior to happy hour, drinks are rather expensive at $14 for a glass of chardonnay. During happy hour, you have to order via a phone app which was easy to download and use and both drinks and food were half price during this time. We ordered a pizza (hazelnut, pumpkin and goats cheese) and salt and pepper squid and both were excellent. The bar is extremely busy, staff were friendly and definitely worth a visit

Our annual brunch at the aviary was amazing. Chloe was incredible and served us with a smile and tended to any of our queries! She kept checking in on us and made sure the food was great and we were enjoying our time. We’ll be back next year as per usual!

Good place and trendy, but the music choice grates on your nerves after a while and is to loud to have a relaxing drink. Food was good. Beer list is a bit average being your in a state with some of the best craft beers and wines in the country.

Went as a group of 3 and ordered food and drinks. Food seemed good and drinks were nice. Staff were friendly and courteous. After an hour of eating got terribly sick, stomach cramps and ended up vomiting the entire meal. I wasn’t sick prior to this so I knew it had something to do with the meal. A staff member did come in to check when I was in the toilet and offered some water. As I got too sick I had to be rushed to the Royal Perth emergency department and spent the entire night and morning to manage the food poisoning. Did feedback to the restaurant but no one has called to check. My two friends felt queasy and nausea but did not experience severe symptoms as mine. I hope they check on the food safety especially with the dips and cold food as if there are toxins in the food it could trigger a life or death experience for certain groups of vulnerable people. I would come back again as it’s a nice ambience but I would be really cautious with the food I order. Edit: A manager contacted and explained he couldn’t find the feedback that was given online. Asked for my feedback and a refund was given even even though I hadn’t requested for one. Appreciate the call.

After previously leaving a review in which I said I was disappointed by my experience at The Aviary, the manager, Travis, reached out for feedback and asked if we would return to give The Aviary another chance. When we went on Thursday, our experience couldn’t have been more different - all the team were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to help us and make sure we had a great time. We made the most of the happy hour food and drinks, both of which were delicious, and the live music kicked off at around 6 and that was great too. Will definitely be returning, thanks to all the staff who changed our minds and ensured we had a fun evening.

This review is a long time coming and needed to express excellent service. On Mothers Day I had the surprise gift from my daughter to breakfast at The Avairy. We were greeted by Emily who was friendly and efficient in seating us. The table service was outstanding. Lian was attentive to all our needs, explained all our options and continued to provide excellent service throughout. Thank you Avairy staff! I highly recommend having a wonderful experience by staff. The food was wonderful and was another highlight to this magical day!

I've only been to the Aviary once before, the last night was genuinely such a good vibe. The songs were amazing, the transitions between them were even better! Drinks are A+, definitely recommend coming here especially for pres!

Terrible venue....they let any body in, including the homeless! Under staffed, over prices drinks.....staff need a good talking to about presentation and hygiene....they all look like they need a good scrub! Very disappointed!

This girl Mims is the bomb! She is the best waitress I've ever come across to! She is polite and drinks were served straight away! And the best espresso Martinis ever! Will definitely come back!

Doors open @ 11am and I recommend going @ this time as it’s quiet and relaxing. Noise volume can get quite loud on busy nights. Other then that I can’t possible fault the aviary. Hosted our engagement party in the private function space and it was fantastic. Staff were so accommodating and lovely and the space itself was perfect! Very flexible food and drink options for large groups and we were able to set up the space however we wanted. Highly recommend!

Love that the menus are printed on the wall. Friendly staff that want you to have a good/safe time, I mentioned to a staff member about a patron that was behaving borderline badly & they monitored the situation & came back to check on myself & my girlfriend afterwards. A+

Evie was lovely, filled up when needed, took pictures, and made our girly catch up very nice. We did have to wait for two of our groups food, and it came after all the rest finished. But apart from that all good.

Went for the bottomless brunch. The staff was super attentive, and Chloe, our server, was amazing. Even allowed us to go over our 2-hour time slot. Recommend the sesh.
