Had a beautiful evening at The Sentinel. If you are looking for delicious food with some fine dinning this place is on point. The service was awesome, the ladies were attentive but didn’t hang around. Drinks and food were all serviced in a timely manner but allowed for us to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s warm and cozy inside and if you are if your partial to people watching there is plenty of it along St Georges Tce. We were given complementary canapés which was a mushroom purée of some description with feta. The short crust pastry case that it came in complimented it beautifully. It was crunchy but also fell apart nicely. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. I ran the gauntlet and ordered the octopus. I have countless disappointment with this dish lately. However, this was cooked perfectly!!! It wasn’t chewy, was easy to cut and had great flavour. It came with wedges of potatoes. Not sure this completes the octopus. I personal preference would have been something acidic. My main was the angel hair pasta. I was impressed with how much seafood was in this. The tomato sugo was rich in flavour. Finished the night off with some of the best expresso martinis I have ever had. I could taste the coffee and the alcohol and they came in a decent size glass. Highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Went for our anniversary Amazing food, lovely atmosphere great service. Highly recommend . The Beef carpaccio was incredible. Lovely tender octopus Beautiful steak charred and then amazingly cooked to the perfect medium rare The mushroom risotto was gorgeous so flavourful. Will be back for sure.

The Sentinel is a great place to meet up with work colleagues or friends after a busy day. Can get very busy at times so if you want a special table you are then best to book, even if they say you can just walk-in and request a table. Service is prompt and kitchen is quick in preparing dishes. Ordering drinks you can tend to often be waiting a bit longer than normal for drinks to arrive at you table. A must try for those in the city wanting something special but not too over the top

Lovely dinner for 2 with good entrees (although a bit pricey for the serving size) and decent steaks. Scallops were a small but expensive entree with nice flavour, but served at room temperature? (3 for a serve). Octopus was lovely. Decent size entree, tender and packed full of flavour. Steaks were ok, but eye fillet quite small (even though I was promised a much thicker cut than the scotch fillet, it was same thickness on several tables beside us as well). Could really do with a few more premium steak options. Wine list was adequate, although some of the staff did not have much knowledge about the flavour profile which was disappointing.

Food brings people together on many different levels. It’s nourishment of the soul and body; it’s truly love. I won't be able to comment much on alcohol because I do not drink. Food was delicious, tasty and fresh. The lunch and dinner menus feature a concise, considered grill component balanced by a classical menu of bistro dishes. Recommend steak, burger and salmon. Superb hospitality.

Food is good but the dessert was pretty average despite the presentation. Service was a bit slow. Been here a couple of times, probably the steak is the best out of the rest in the menu. The popcorn martini was pretty sweet , could taste the syrup. Might come again.

It’s an upmarket restaurant in Perth CBD with nice atmosphere. The grilled octopus was tender. Roasted duck was succulent and tasty. The mouthwatering steak was cooked to the perfection. The spicy seafood pasta was delicious. We ended our dinner with the delicious chocolate cake. Staffs were attentive. We will return.

Sentinel 111George St Perth. Great food great service what more could you wish for. My only grip is a 2%card fee. I avoid places that expect you to pay for their bank fees which should form part of any business expenses. Particularly at this level of charges not cheap but, you do get both good food and good service just cut out the card fees. EFTPOS is only .5%. will therefore not return. Just because you can doesn't mean you should it's bleeding your customers.

Good quality food, great wine and amazing staff. It was my first time there today and I had the chicken breast and broccoli. The vibes was quite corporate but staff are friendly. And food arrives in good time, perfect for an office lunch break. Definitely recommended.

First timers and we loved the atmosphere. You are with other diners, but you feel that your group is alone. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive. We shared the chateaubriand, which was amazing. The desserts were a hit and miss, the fondant everything it should be but the Pannacotta was rubbery, taken that edge too far. The taste, where was the lychee.. ? it's a prominent taste, totally lacking. But we would dine again.

We came on a Friday evening and the options are 2 courses as a minimum. I had the octopus for starter that unfortunately was burnt rather than charred. The main of gnocchi and duck ragout was very tasty. The wife had the angel hair pasta that was advertised as crab and prawn. She could find no sign of any crab and from the looks of it, the prawn was solitary and cut up to spread amongst the dish. Whilst tasty food, for the price I expected better.

Top Notch! I was a party of one. Despite it being busy, the staff were very attentive. When I ordered everything upfront the waiter did it all from memory. Always cool to see. Fantastic Negroni, excellent Scotch Fillet steak with Paris mash, lovely Panna Cotta. Decent wine list on offer. I really enjoyed my dinner here. Perfecto!

Excellent spot for an after work drink or dinner, Can be a bit small and loud but definitely makes up for that with the great food, drinks and service.

Great moody and intimate atmosphere, great food, great service, all round a good time. The quality of cooking was consistent across all the meals however the quality of flavour was inconsistent. The entree was hot and miss, both mains were gorgeous, and dessert was hit and miss. Overall a great meal 👌

Absolute pinnacle of my dining experiences in Perth. Marie, our waitress, was fabulous. The food was incredible. This is a slick organised operation. The vibe and decor is modern, luxe yet not pretentious. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

This time around, the salmon nicoise salad was delicious and I would happily order it again. Would have liked a sweeter LLB but overall, it's always a great place to visit for a work lunch.

The food, wine and service was excellent. We were a group of 12 and all our meals came at once. Steaks were fabulous. Five stars except for the cramped tables, lack is space and continually getting bumped by people waking past, including the staff.

The BEST Steak in Perth! Perfectly cooked every time! Eye fillet melts in your mouth, and tastes delicious with out sauce! But I love the mushroom sauce! The Scallops entree is superb! Make sure you put all the flavours in your mouth at once for the taste sensation! The Belgian Chocolate Fondant....well its just divine! And the Service is fantastic. They are always busy but will always ensure you are looked after!

Called in on spec last Wednesday evening. At the time, it was nice to sit outside under the covered area with a heater. Then the storm arrived, and despite being very busy, we managed to move inside. The Chateaubriand set for two was nicely cooked, and we added a portion of tiger prawns. The beef was tasty but a little dry in places. Vegetable portions are good and again tasty. Others in our group had steaks with a side, which was just enough. I can see the cost mounting if you're hungry though. Good choice of cocktails and wines.

Had a lunchtime, office team lunch. Service was good and timely. Food was excellent. Appeared to be an executive crowd moving in for a mid-Friday lunch and wine session. Popular and easy , but quality.

My first dinner after the quarantine. It was a smart choice! Loved the food and the atmosphere. I would give 5 stars for food quality. I was asked to move to another table as the rush hour is coming. I did and wanted to order another drink and dessert, but the African waitress never came back, a bit disappointed. It is not a cheap place, maybe the service could be better.

What a surprise package this place is. I have lived in the CBD for the last 5 years and never felt the urge to go into the Sentinel, that was until Tuesday night when we thought we'd sample the Paris date night package. Wow!! What a fantastic night. The staff were fantastic from the moment we entered until the time we left. The food was cooked to perfection, the chateaubriand was to die for, OMG! I'm hoping the paris date night gets extended into September but regardless, well be back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you to all the staff for their great service. Keep up the good work.

This restaurant deserves more attention. I love love love the decor, nice ambience, not too warehouse like and not too posh either. Food has always been nice and neat. Good cocktail selection. Service is great and attentive. Easily one of my fav Western restaurants and I am not easy to please.

Staff were lovely and the decor good. There was only one problem, and it was a big problem, the steak was literally the toughest piece of meat I'd ever eaten. We ordered the brisquette and it was already cut into slices so the chef must have known. It was so bad as to ruin a good meal. Considering the primary focus of dining out is the meal, not staff or ambience, based on this experience I wouldn't recommend the restaurant or return.

One of my favorite restaurants. Great vibe. Easy, central location. Good wine list. Always amazing service. The best tartare in Perth. The best steak in Perth. Priced well too. Will continue coming and a much better choice than Meat &Wine Co across the rd. Can't recommend highly enough!

The restaurant is good however expected a little more given the pricing. A little disappointed when the wine we ordered wasn't available, the replacement (charged $55 ) was a $9.95 bottle. I understand the need for restaurants to mark up alcohol to cater for licensing costs but $55 for. Sub $10 is not responsible especially the bottle it was replacing was a far superior wine.

Pleasant elegant vibe, has a nice looking bar, organised and very polite. You have the option if 3 or 2 course meals. We had the eye fillet and the rib eye which was huge. Octopus as entre was ok. The rib eye steak was rally good and better than the eye fillet in my opinion. We tried the truffles mushroom as side which was not anything special. Overall a very good experience. For desert I had the panna cotta which was ok. We paid 210 dollars for two 2 course meals , and one drink each.

Best eye-fillet beef I have ever had. Nothing to compare. Really good service, great taste and very good local wines. Might go again if I have time. If you are in town, go an visit.

Had an hour business meeting with one of our clients. Parking was easy as there is a parking garage almost across the road from The Sentinel. Staff was friendly and a good atmosphere. Food was tasty and fresh. Had a selection of starters and main menu. Some good wines on selection. Would visits again.

The steak in the steak sandwich was cooked perfectly. It was a good serving size for its price and the chips were crispy. The real winner is the Hazelnut and white chocolate Panna Cotta. It was a flavour bomb with a sharp passionfruit sauce and the watermelon granita heightened all the flavours. The chocolate fondant was also very enjoyable although the pistachio ice cream was subtle. Although the workers are very friendly and professional, it took some time for the meal to be served so be prepared to wait through the lunch hour.

Disclaimer: have not tried the food. Went for drink and atmosphere and was not displeased. A restaurant and bar where you might have to spend a few extra dollar per item, but definitely worth it. Great customer service, elegant and tidy venue. Hope to come back and try the food. The reason for not giving 5 stars on atmosphere is because of the location: it's right in the crossing of one of Perths most hectic streets. Reason for not giving 5 stars on service was because the second waitress we got happened to be very forgettful; a kind and professional soul, just not 5 stars.

It's a great place for after work drinks with colleagues/clients with an ample undercover outdoor seating area. Nice and friendly staff behind the bar who are also efficient with their service. The chips that come with mayo was addictively delicious and served within minutes upon request.

Very good environment and food. Service is good but slow. One hour lunch took two hours to finish. Not the fault of service personnel but the kitchen.

What a fantastic date night accidental find!! Great romantic atmosphere! Excellent, attentive and knowledgeable staff (we had Charlotte look after us) ... and the actual food itself was so delicious- Full of flavour bombs that wowed us with each mouthful. Highly recommend!

I would always walk past this restaurant and it was always packed so I thought I might try it. I dined in on a Saturday night, the only thing I can commend on is the prompt service and the popcorn espresso martini. The beef carpaccio was edible, the octopus smelt and taste really bad (I love octopus so there was definitely something wrong here, did not smell fresh at all and was rubbery) I only managed to eat a quarter of the truffle risotto, it was quite tasteless. Much better restaurants just down the road 👍 won't be returning. Edit after response: it was not the dressing on the octopus, it smelt and taste off while it was overcooked, I could not chew it.

Such an amazing dinner! Awesome staff as well who made sure we were happy for the night, the food was absolutely brilliant, from entrees all the way to desert. We were not disappointed! The steak was perfection, cooked amazingly with awesome sides and beautiful tasting sauces to come along with it. Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a good dinner for a special occasion!

Very crowded, very loud. Food was OK, but limited to a set menu with not a lot of choice. Service was good, but a little slow. I would try again if they move to an unrestricted menu.

FANTASTIC! Enjoyed the Amelia Park wine degustation last night, food came out quickly as did the wines which was great! Every course was delicious, would highly recommend. Much better service and timing then other degustation dinners we have done.

Very good but very expensive

Despite spending just shy of $170 for a meal for two, I managed to get a minor case of food poisoning after dining here. On a positive note, the steak was fantastic, and the dessert amazing. I suspect I received a bad scallop. I thought the smell was quite strong when it was served but it didn't taste off. Perhaps the flavours of the condiments masked it. I would have rated it a five if it wasn't for the after dinner stomach ache.

Great atmosphere and food. Service was a little lacking but will definitely be back.

Had a Christmas lunch for 21 people days before Christmas and the Sentinel team really made the team lunch amazing. The set menu was great and catered to all, staff were friendly and helpful and was a great atmosphere despite the weather being 38 degrees. Everyone had a great time! Thank you
