Went for birthday dinner. Very accommodating with us as we were 30min + early for our table booking. Food was very delicious and hot. Steak cooked well. Red wine sauce was yummy if a little sweet. Partners steak was cooked well done but calamari was still slightly cold in places but still edible. Little bit pricey but justified. Will be returning. Sweet potato fries were gold star definitely my favourite.

Had lunch with friends at this very nice little place hidden in Shafto Lane. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. True Venezuelan food. Wide choices on menu. Prices reflects quality of the their dishes. Food was amazing! Bigger portions but not overly heavy. Advise to book in advance. Very busy during lunch on weekdays. Staff were so friendly and helped with any questions we had. Overall, we will be back to try their share plate.

Found this gem of a restaurant through a recommendation. Was not disappointed. Every dish we ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned (their pork belly and beef was particularly good), and I loved that we could order tasting and share plates - it meant we could try a bit of everything. Service was attentive, friendly and surprisingly fast. Would happily eat here again.

First time eating Venezuelan food and it was amazing! First of all, a lot of reviews state that they charge you $25 per person to book, that is simply not true, they preauthorise as clearly they’ve had lots of no shows, if show up no issue, if you cancel no issue! The food was great, we’ve had Empanadas a few times, these were different and very tasty. The mains were delicious, the steak was so tasty, wasn’t a huge fan of the corn bread but that was my fault.

Had my father's Day dinner at this place, very nice little place hidden in Shafto Lane. Customer service was A+! Food was great as well and surprisingly came out fast as well considering it was a busy night. We almost ordered a shared meal but wasn't sure how big the portion was so decided to get our own dishes so we can try what Venezuelan dishes taste like. Our dishes was tasty and unique. Steak was a bit tough but I'm guessing it's how it should be in their Venezuelan way, still tasted good. Has that grilled and marinated flavour to it. Overall, we will be back to try their share plate. 💪

Named for one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the world. This place offers food that is a world away from what is on offer in Perth. Perth food consists of Asian (of some form)/Indian/ Pub Grub/ Fast Food. Angel Falls offers Venezuelan food, well prepared, beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. There are so many unique offerings on the menu; yucca chips, plantains (ripe or green), a drink made from sugar cane juice and so many others. If you are at all interested in Venezuelan rum, this is one of two places in Perth that serve it. In the market for something better? Try this place!!!!!

Food looked so good we didn't even take a picture! We got a bunch of starters to share, and they were all so delicious. It's nice to go out and not have to worry about whether something is gluten free. I highly recommend the croquettes and empanadas. I had a dark mojito which was also very good. Great service as well.

This place is amazing. Great food, fun music, wonderful helpful staff, cozy surroundings. My thanks to the lovely staff whom let us stay a half hour past closing time. Yo Megusta! This restaurant is ideal for those with the need to eat gluten free or regular eaters. Portions are large. Food quality is excellent. This is a fully licenced restaurant though a $10 corkage fee applies if you BYO. I very much enjoyed our visit to Angel Falls and believe you will too. It isn't a large restaurant but there are about 10 tables and another 4 outside. 5 Stars, 5 Estellas. I will certainly return. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

My wife and I attended the restaurant after reading many good reviews. Unfortunately we never had the same experience as others. After marking a booking we attended on time into an empty restaurant. On arrival we were met by a rude gentlemen who failed to great us; merely stating “Yes”. After informing him that we had a reservation the gentlemen stated, “You need to sign in here”. There was no polite conversation or a welcoming nature. However, upon being shown to our seat, my wife and I noticed a distinct smell of people smoking and acting upon this I politely asked if there was a possibility to change table. The gentlemen responded that he could but we could only be ‘allowed to be seated on any new table’ for 60 minutes. The gentlemen did not try and address the smoking from outside, nor offer any alternative where we would not be eating on a ‘stop watch’. Based on this info we both left the restaurant and ate elsewhere. If this customer service is the norm. This restaurant needs to up its game, especially as Perth expands and it becomes more competitive. Good Luck, I’d happily choose to continue eating elsewhere.

Small place with a nice atmosphere. The meat is perfectly cooked (some of the best steak, pork and chicken I’ve ever had). The Mexican lager is nice. Service is impeccable. Only downside is the price. If you want a great meat treat I’d highly recommend it

A beautifully decorated restaurant located in the heart of Perth CBD. We are very impressed with their steak, beautifully cook and so tender, the cost of food is reasonable and the music in the background creates a lively atmosphere. Customer service is at its best. I can highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone and we are definitely coming back. Thank you Angel Falls Grill for your amazing hospitality, you deserve a 5 star 🌟 from us.

Visited here for dinner tonight. Place was really packed which was a good sign for the restaurant. Waited 40mins for main meal to arrive (which was understandable as they were busy). Meat was dry, food was flavourless, seafood bland and chips were decent. If I had to sum up the experience in one word.... BASIC.

I went to Angel Falls for lunch and had a great time. The food was delicious and authentic. The owner and staff were all South American which added to the authenticity of the venue and food. The owner was nice enough to allow me to practice my Spanish with her lol. I'm definitely going to return and try more items from the menu. I highly recommend visiting.

Food was nice and the service was good. Two things brought it down. 1) They served char grilled corn on the cob. Unfortunately, it was frozen corn, so it was like mush, and the cob was still frozen in the middle. 2) When paying the $420 bill for 5 of us, I was asked the obligatory "was everything ok?" I responded commenting on the corn, and got the standard "Oh, sorry about that", or words to that effect. It just seems like empty platitudes. Don't ask if you don't care.

Slow service. Extremely slow. And they forgot the birthday girls order. And charges $20 to bring in a cake. We were the only booked table on a Monday and they wanted to charge us cake surcharge. When we looked surprised, the waitress shrugged, said "I thought you knew" and walked away.. I guess no cake for us then hey? Shafto lane is dead on a Monday, don't go here. Not sure why this place is 4.4stars all 1 star reviews accurate. Steaks were warm to cold at best. Dry and either over or under cooked. Cheap cuts. It's definitely not high quality steaks. My trios corn flat bread were burnt and all broken up. So hard to eat. Yuck We ordered a sugar cane drink with lemon. We ordered 4. All were extremely sour. We didn't complain but asked rather nicely to perhaps add more water or sugar syrup. Waiter/bar guy said "that's how it is and already has water" and refused to rectify our undrinkable glasses of pure lemon juice. The waitress brought over a few sachets of sugar.. It's just a drink. Offer a replacement or take it off the bill Not recommended

So just had to post! I'm in Perth now. ANGEL FALLS venezuelan restaurant. Wow!!! OK so great atmosphere friendly attentive service. When the food came out AROMA as in it smelt so delicious, the first and true signal of good food. Presentation tops everything delicious and some. Chicken marinated so tasty. Yum. Steak cooked perfectly and all the other stuff I had aswell. If I was to critique I would say ever do slightly salty but it did not linger. Great food awesome restaurant. I was so surprised at HOW good it is. Tasty clean wholesome 20 out of ten Angel Falls.

After reading raving reviews on Google and their instagram page, despite the excessive high pricing my wife and I decided to give Angel Falls grill a go. We ordered the $90 Araguaney meat board for 2 people. Positives: The steak strip's were tasty and well cooked, the accompanying sauces were very tasty, the small wraps were warm and tasty. The Negatives: The pork pieces and chicken strip's were both luke-warm and extremely dry, they tasted like they had been cooked another day and lightly reheated. The quantity of the sauces was less then a tablespoon per serving and we ran out before eating less then half of the wraps. Also the platter came with zero grilled vegetables. Serving sizes of meat and sauces were tiny and underwhelming considering the hefty $90 price tag. With some hefty price reductions and focus on food freshness this restaurant could possibly develop into a worthy eatery. Unfortunately we won't be back. EDIT RESPONSE: We did notify the host after finishing our meal which yielded a quick apology but no compensation. We only reported the issues after finishing the meal because after waiting a good 30-40 minutes for our meal while the restaurant had only 1 other table, we didn't want to wait a further large amount of time for a corrected meal. And $90 for a small meat platter is not competitive at all. Check out Lapas Brazilian who offer an unlimited serving of over 20 different fresh grilled meals for only $55pp or have a look at El Publicos meat platter which has a larger platter then your $90 equivelent, and is only $45. No hard feelings. We just had to share our honest review. - Thanks

Food was delicious. Loved that there was a whole gluten free menu but it was a little on the pricey side and there was no kids menu. Would have been great to have a kids meal with empanadas and rice or plantain chips or something.

Had a fantastic 'date night' with the wifey at this truly unique little restaurant. I can't remember or pronounce the names of the stuff we had - but it was damn good! FOOD: The flavor was awesome. The meat was tender and delicious. The fusion of flavors was really unique. The portion sizes were perfect. We left the restaurant satisfied, but not bloated. AMBIENCE: It felt really authentic South American. Even the music selection contributed to the vibe. The staff were also South American which added to the flair of the place. SERVICE: Really good service. The servers were really friendly, and super knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu. Our server really took time to explain the difference between all the options. PRICE: Not cheap. But also not too expensive. The food items are reasonably priced. They offer a lot of cocktails - and they ARE really expensive! But as long as you don't go overboard on the alcohol, the night shouldn't set you back an arm and a leg. AVAILABILITY: I suggest you book ahead of time, because the place was full on Friday night. There is a steep online booking fee (which you will lose if you don't rock up or cancel), but who would want to cancel? ... This little place is awesome!

I personally enjoyed the steaks here. Order two rump cap cooked in medium rare and rare, and they were done nicely. I don’t agree that this should be compared to Lapa as it’s a totally different setup and is a buffet. I definitely will try the other cuts again

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant. It's a great place to eat before attending a show as it's really close to His Majesty's theatre. The food was good and I liked the idea of the shared meals on offer. The staff are friendly and the food is good.

Unique experience for us. First timer trying Venezuelan Restaurant. Staff were helpful. Tasty food and bit pricey. Place was compact so bit hard to have a descent conversation with my Hubby, as the ones next to us were so loud but nothing we can do about it as the place was pretty tight area.

A beautifully presented food menu highlighting the Venezuelan cuisine is provided upon arrival. The drinks and cocktail menu also with colour pictures is also a sight to see. The tasty food was well presented and in quite generous portions. The prices were a little higher than I expected which is where they lost a star from me.

Food was fantastic! A wonderful dive into Venezuelan cuisine. Our server for the night was Karen. She had such a lovely and bubbly personality and we could not be happier to have had such a wonderful person to take care of us for the night. We sat in the outdoor alfresco (uncovered). Very nice atmosphere. The place where Angel Falls Grill is situated is a perfect spot. Could not recommend this place more, and again, Karen was fantastic! :)

The calamari lacked freshness and seemed frozen, resulting in a bland taste. While the chips were satisfactory, their price at $12 was a bit steep. The tap beer, particularly a pint of pale ale, carried a hefty price tag of $15. Despite a relatively quiet atmosphere during our visit, the ordering process required customers to go to the counter, a common practice observed by others. Notably, the December 2023 prices were $21 for calamari, $12 for chips, and $15 for a pint of beer.

The food was alright, but the drinks (cocktails) were terrible (overly sweet like they use a sugar syrup, and a lot of it), and when I asked if I could have a cocktail without added sugar (the classic margarita - which it states has 3 ingredients - tequila, lime, triple sec) I was told no sorry it’s pre-made with sugar, “they all are”, and the gentleman who seated us and took that order behaved like he was annoyed or bored or both. I brought my husband here to enjoy a nice lunch and instead it was just mediocre. Won’t be returning.

We had the food platter for two to take the hassle out of choosing and it was all really yummy, even better than the last time. The empanadas are my favourite. I loved that everything is gluten free so I can have whatever I want, (I am coeliac). Cocktails were nice too and the service is friendly and fast.

We ordered the triple grill, was missing a couple sauces as well as the prawns and calamari. I asked where it was and got the prawns, I asked again for the calamari and sauce and was given the sauce, I then asked a third time where the calamari was and after checking with the kitchen the waitress said they were out and we could order something else or take it off the bill. By this point I was frustrated and over the whole experience. Out of the 4 steaks that were on our table, 2 were cooked as requested, the other two were underdone. I really wanted to come back and try some of the starters but I don't think I will bother. The food tasted good but the communication and trying to figure out where the rest of our platter was was a let down, especially the price we paid.

Wow wow wow! What a hidden little gem! We desperately needed to find somewhere GF for our son and finding Angel falls grill and it being 100% GF made things easy for me to not have to explain about cross contamination. The food was next level and it was easy with the kids. The experience was just simple and amazing. I cannot wait to get back to Perth and have another meal here. ( oh the cocktails are on point too!)

Great food and good Venezuela rum. We really enjoy dining here for the great mix of good meat dishes and yum salads. The local rum is very interesting and also have good cocktails. Always a good time. If you are after meaty south american grill close to Perth CBD, look no further, Angle Falls is the place. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Great (but very naughty) food, friendly helpful service who explained each dish very thoroughly. Possibly a bit more expensive for portion size provided, but I'd say that's the tapas style experience. Dark run mojito was deliciousan well made. Haven't been to Venezuela but the experience felt authentic and the dishes were new flavors, textures and ingredients for us that we enjoyed. Location also nice, befitting for Shafto Lane.

Steak was inconsistently cooked - medium rares came as medium or medium well; medium came as half med-rare, half med-well. We arrived at 6:30, a booked table of 4; but table was set up for 5 and we were asked "are you only a 4 now?" We ordered and food came at 7:40 (see photo). At 8:10, we were told our booking had expired and we were asked to leave and finish our drinks outside. Surely the food delay is not in our power to control and then to eat in 20 minutes...? At least don't ask us to leave? (We were aware of 90min dining time- but this doesn't account for the unusual delay in cooking time). We were rushed out and paid by 8:20. We were also charged for 4 Lemon lime bitters rather than 2, as we did not have time to check the receipt properly as the next table was waiting. We were also given the incorrect side for one dish, which was later rectified with the side given for free.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was really nice. I had a beef starter then create your own plate as a main. It was all delicious and will definitely return to try more of the menu. Only criticism would be that the chips were over salted. That's a personal thing as I prefer to put my own on for health reasons. Looking forward to coming back.

We were looking for a steak dinner with a difference. We weren't disappointed. We had "the big grill" share plate. Was is to much for two? Yes! Was it fantastic? Definitely! Three rump steaks cooked to perfection, chicken tenders, two large sausage, one of being black pudding. And 3 sides. Rice, fried tatties and coleslaw. Coming from a Scotsman, we are always on the look out for a wee bit of black pudding. This stuff was nothing like what we get at home but we were just as impressed with the freshness of the blood flavours, not everyone's cup of tea but right up our alley! This was something special! Staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Great selection of drinks at the usual prices. If you want a great steak and aren't willing to pay exorbitant prices that other places will try on give this place a chance! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!.....oh and don't be worried, yes they do a doggie bag! Thanks for having us Angel Falls.

Nice enough place but watch out for the table next to the smoking area of the pub next door. Staff were friendly but didn't want us to move from the 'smoking' table but we stuck to our guns and moved anyway. Service was quick and professional. Food quality was 5 stars, excellent steak, but not much for your money so I probably won't go back, which is why I gave it 3 stars

After having a great evening at a fringe show we wandered into Shafto Lane for some dinner. We were seated at a smallish high table which just about fit 5 people on it. We put up with the smokers from the pub next to it in hope of some delicious Venezuelan food. However from the start to the very end, our food was very underwhelming to say the least. The meat was dry, flavour was tasteless and the alcoholic cocktails were more like mocktails. The service was slow and our overall experience was disappointing.

I order around 170$ big tray It was surprisingly awful. The completely dry rice mixture almost broke my teeth. Grilled chicken was hard because it was very dry. Totally spoiled my dinner. Please find other place guys.

I tried two dishes- veggie cachapas and mini pabellon (v), I'd rate former as 4 and the later as 3.

This one is not like the usual Mexican cuisine you get otherwise. 100% gluten free, tasty food with a lot of meat items.

I have dined here on three different occasions and not once have been disappointed by the food or service. I highly recommend the Pabellon cachapa, it is to die for!

I absolutely loved this place, great find! Not the cheapest night but the food is is so tasty, the corn-bread (pancakes)is exactly like I tasted in Venezuela. Some great latino music, salsa and Kiz beats....Loved the Pisco sour. Took my daughter, and she loved it too.

We had a great meal at Angel Falls Grill last week! The food was amazing & the AFG team were fantastic, very helpful, I can see why they won Perth’s best steak restaurant 👍 thank you, we’ll definitely be back!

Very nice food and atmosphere. We dined on a Sunday night and it was quiet with only 3 groups.

Really enjoyed the food here but was quite expensive! Wasn’t overly hungry so ate two starters with a side of sweet potato fries. Had three drinks. Good service

I wanted to give it a try to this restaurant even if I did read bad experiences, wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately, I had a not good experience here. Firstly the waiting was 45 minutes for food to come out, we were 5 and dishes where coming every 10 min approx. Not really good. The portions were extremely small! They waitress that served us was a little bit rude when we were asking about the dishes. The pisco was tiny and paid $25. Overall the food was 3/5 in flavours. The atmosphere was uncomfortable as they were rushing us to get out soon. Not recommended and not going there again.

Food standard is near perfection. The steaks were tasty, tender and perfectly cooked medium rare. The veggies were delicious. Service is exceptional and pricing is very reasonable for this quality experience me and my enjoyed!

Great food: good portions, flavourful and bright. Excellent staff: kitchen to front of house. Relaxed vibe and great location. 100% Gluten Free was a big bonus for my dinner companion. Thanks to the chef who worked around my friend's garlic intolerance. I will be back with more friends in the future!

My husband and I recently had lunch at Angel Falls after winning a competition. What a delightful experience this was - food was so tasty and fresh and service was impeccable. Would highly recommend this place! Thank you for the hospitality :)

Friendly staff, yummy food. Ordered: 🥗 Starters 🥗 ✓ Empanadas (3) - $20 ⭐ Croquetas de Maíz (4) - $19 (enjoyed the most, had lots of flavour). 🍝 Main 🍝 ✓ Araguaney Board - $90 + al ajillo prawns - $17 For 2 people, definitely enough. Choose meat & flavour with sauces. 🍹Drinks🍹 ⭐ Pina colada - $18 (My fav drink and this one was really nice) ✓ Fruity gin and tonic - $20 ➖ Only thing I would say was that the food wasn't as hot as I'd like it.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. True Venezuelan food. Wide choices on menu. Vegetarian options available. Prices reflects what you get in quality. Advise to book in advance. Very busy during lunch on weekdays.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was fantastic. We got the Meru sharing platter. Literally every bite was a delight. Yes it's a little pricy, but worth every dollar!

Great place for a great dinner! We were not sure what to order (as everything looks delicious) so we decided to take a bit of everything. You will not be disappointed! Taste, presentation and quantities are good. The terrace, close to the fountain makes it even more pleasant. I've missed some beer from the tap, but the food is already good so no complaints. Croquetas de maiz , super good ;) ! We will be back.

So tasty! Menu was a little over whelming at first but the walter was very helpful. We went on a Sunday and I recommend booking, they were turning dinners away. Indoor and courtyard seating available.

We loved our experience at the hidden lil gem. And awesome place for meat eaters who love to experience a bit of South American flair. An awesome date night spot, and getting the dishes to share will give a couple the best chance to taste a wider range. The service was good however I suggest you go to the bathroom before going there their restroom is way below par to put it mildly. That’s the only reason they getting 4 stars. For the beer lovers there’s some awesome crafts on tap too.

Such a great restaurant. Service was amazing and food exquisite. 😍 My partner and I loved it and we'll go back to try different things. We couldn’t get desserts because we were full. Next time we'll order two entrees and one main.

  • 3/5 Ngaire R. 10 months ago on Google
Service was great but we got a share plate and half of the items had clearly been sitting for a good while, especially the steak which was our main reason for going here. There were a few items that were great (a sauce and the plantain), and I'm sure if the cold food came out fresh they would have been great too. However, considering the price point, it's just not good enough

Up in Perth for a conference, we decided to take a walk and look for a place to have dinner, and just happened to stumble across this little gem. Though a Monday night, they were doing a steady trade. Met at the door very pleasantly and asked if they would have room for 2 walk ins. They said yes but informed us that there was currently an half hour wait. This was fine with us so they organised a table for us. We were quickly seated and water was poured straight away. After about 2 minutes the waitstaff came round to see if we were ready to order. Still looking through the menu, we asked if we could get some drinks first. Before our drinks arrived, another waitperson came and asked if we were ready to order. We started with the El Trio (three little tasters of beef, prawn and pork) as entree until we could decide what to have for mains. Drinks arrived and then we ordered the Gran Sabana, which then gave us a nice selection of the fare available. Love the way the food came out In presentation. The assortment of food was fantastic. Ordered our rump medium rare. One slice perfectly cooked, the other slightly on the rare side, but more than acceptable and we didn’t bother to ask for it to be cooked more. Pork belly was incredible, black pudding good when mix with other items on the plate, and the congri was out of this world. Left rolling out the door. While our experience was lovely, would love to have been asked if we would like more than just 1 drink, and offered dessert at the end of the night - good chance we would have said no to dessert, but you never know how you feel, and now looking at their dessert menu online, would have loved to have tried the Death by Chocolate cocktail. Maybe next time. Overall a good dining experience.

A recipe has no soul, the cook has brought soul to the recipe. My customer told me about this restaurant. He said this is the only Venezuelan restaurant and steakhouse in Perth. Their steaks were extremely nice. Out of my curiosity, we went there one evening. We ordered a meru platter, a steak and some side dishes to share. I have to agree with my customer that their steaks were one of the best in Perth.

I've been wanting to here for ages and finally made it. I was not disappointed. The food is incredible. Nati provided a great service too. It's a great place to come and eat, enjoy the vibe and speak Spanish with the staff.

Looked good but lacked flavour. Very overpriced. Firstly you are hit with a $50 booking fee online. Not a great start. The place itself is a hidden little place on Shafto Lane and that location is quaint but also sitting inside was stuffy. Starters priced at over $20 for 3 or 4 tiny mouthfulls of deep fried things was not a great start. The croquetas were moorish but not for that price. We opted for the Gran Sabana share platter ($198) with an upgrade from rump cap to eye fillet for an extra $72. The steaks were bland, overcooked and left us really disappointed that this was named WA best steak restaurant 2023. Sides were ok but at best I would say this was $150 and really even at that price I would still be dissatisfied. Food quality was more of a local pub than a Venezuelan restaurant. All of the sauces lacked flavour....something I was really looking forward to trying as someone who likes spicy exotic things - the tell was that my partner was able to eat the sauces and he hates anything spicy. Go figure. Overall I would describe it as a bland experience.

Great atmosphere and waitress Stephanie very helpful and efficient. Food and drinks came out fairly quickly as I mentioned we had a show to go to so we were very appreciative. I had the angel falls grilled chicken which was delicious. Hubby had the fried pork which was just a bit too chewy for our liking but flavours were great. Would go again

The food is excellent , fresh and well seasoned. The steak is juicy and tender. The pulled beef is premium. Our server Brayan was attentive and made our dining experience so enjoyable. Our server was able to anticipate our needs and the service was well timed.
