Despite
a
relatively
poor
experience
during
my
last
stay,
I
went
against
my
gut
and
tried
to
give
the
Duxton
another
chance.
Unfortunately
I
should
have
listened
to
my
gut
and
gone
elsewhere.
The
experience
from
start
to
finish
put
last
times
visit
to
shame
and
I
feel
it
really
needs
to
be
shared.
I
checked
in
relatively
late(11pm)
after
a
long
flight
in
from
Sydney,
First
red
flag
was
the
Person
who
checked
me
in
asked
for
a
900
dollar
holding
deposit
after
my
fellow
crew
had
been
charged
200.
I
politely
let
the
Staff
member
know
that
900
dollars
was
rather
abnormal
and
my
colleagues
were
all
charged
200,
however
he
wouldn’t
relent.
I
proceed
to
pay
this
absurd
surprise
hold
knowing
I’d
get
it
back
either
way,
but
still
not
a
great
start.
What
really
made
the
night
shine
was
being
given
the
key
to
another
guest's
room
and
walking
in
on
said
guest
in
the
buff.
After
reporting
it
to
the
manager
the
next
morning
and
having
him
seem
fairly
serious
about
the
matter,
I
found
no
further
follow-up
or
response
to
the
matter..
While
the
old
style
of
the
hotel
might
be
charming,
its
facilities
are
degraded
and
in
serious
disrepair.
The
sink
in
my
room
was
unusable
as
the
water
sprayed
everywhere
except
the
sink,
I
found
myself
using
the
tap
for
the
bathtub
instead.
The
bed
must
have
been
an
actual
slab
of
cement
with
some
foam
on
top.
The
internet
is
barely
passable
for
watching
shows
and
barely
let
me
work.
And
the
room
is
incredibly
well
worn.
All
these
were
fairly
minor
complaints,
and
I
wouldn’t
even
mention
them
if
it
weren't
for
my
first
night
experience.
Unfortunately,
however,
all
the
above
leads
me
to
give
the
Duxton
1
star
and
not
recommend
it.
