Nice open space venue that is slowly but continuously getting a small upgrade. Surrounded by some amazing architecture the space reveals itself as a good connection point between City and the main train station. A popular tourist spot, sit down for office workers at lunch or kids having fun with the fountain. Coffee shop on sight and the location for many events including Night Markets and Christmas Carols.

Iconic spot if visiting Perth since many years ago. The place are not as homy as many years ago. It's neat, it's clean, but most people just passed the area. Not many people actually stay there and hang out or have a relaxing time there. No smoking everywhere is a big turn off. This is an open space, outdoor,, public area, and when nobody can smoke anywhere is really not a solution. Especially for visitors. Maybe that's why this place seems dead and only full by passerby from the nearby office and train passengers. It's not fun anymore to hang out in citimall when there are way too many restrictions.

Jungle Maze School holiday event Forrest Chase. It was a nice atmosphere but having to wait over an hour due to the line wasn't too pleasant. Areas I thought the event managers could've improved was the allowance for prams and trolleys. I understand with kids it's sometimes necessary. I however found it a bit if a hazard as there was lots of people going both ways inside the maze and when you have kids adults prams and trolleys going both ways it was a little chaotic. Great experience don't me wrong it wasn't all bad. the kids loved it. Just a little stressful for the parents. Alert to those who don't handle crowds too well. One of the staff said they had over 2000 people attend per day. So be well prepared. If you need a toilet break get someone to hold your place in line.

Apparently there is a food feast every Friday evening, I don't know what time, but they do start setting up from about noon or 1pm every Friday, and there is live music at the cactus end of the chase, but apart from that I don't know. I walk thru it every Friday arvo, and food trucks are still coming in.

I'm sure nothing in Western Australia can compare with the Murray Street mall. Maybe it's Forrest Chase but I am old school. I love how it's evolved over time to be what it is today.

Forrest Chase has lost a lot of its charm and the city is very quiet at the moment. It is still a nice place to sit and watch the people go past. There is still a good number of food places to be able to visit in this area if you need a meal or snack.

Large open air shopping mall and open space. Retail stores, dining and open air community events are run in the mall during the year. It is close to the main train and bus stations and can be easily accessed by walking.

A great place to shop around with plenty of shops around, clothes, shoes, food, souvenirs, everything is around. Well maintained with plenty of space to sit around. Kids friendly with water fountain play zone for fun loving kids and toddlers. Most of the times there are different activities or events like the Friday Twilight Markets with plently of food stalls of different cultural cuisines. Music and performances to light up the mood. Police patrol always around to ensure safe and smooth functioning and a great experience overall.

I recently visited Forrest Chase Shopping Centre, and I must say that it was a delightful shopping experience. Located in the heart of the city, the shopping center offers a wide range of stores, dining options, and entertainment facilities. Here is my review of Forrest Chase Shopping Centre.

  • 4/5 Lithesh M. 1 year ago on Google
Although a limited range, there is definitely a solid range here. It provides a nice outlook over the city centre whilst also facilitating our needs.

Since they put in the fountain Forrest Chase is a lively place particularly in the summer. It's also in amongst all the shops in Perth and can act as a central meeting point.

It’s the heart of the city! “Appearing Rooms” is where art become form - just ask the kids that enjoy it as a water park! You’ve good to love this city with its new train from the airport to accommodate visitors and commerces equally!

Pretty feral, full of loitering. Aboriginals swearing and drinking and smoking everyday in the same spot, but everyone is too scared to say something, even the police seem to tolerate it. My daughter gets off the bus there from school and is always scared. There are also regular teenage kids doing the same.. I expect it's quite good in the evening when an event is on. Otherwise it's not great. To be fair it's similar to any other city in Australia. However I do know in London and New York there are signs up on such places to stop loitering.

Good atmosphere for friday afternoon get together. Require more police presence as more under-privileged people hang around, sleeping rough, should have more facility from govt.

The biggest problem with Perth in general is that there are a lot of niche, high end shops and I actually generally find myself catching a train to the nearest shopping centre for my basic day to day shopping needs. Oh, can you please get around to properly fixing the blasted escalators.

Went to Mark's & Sparks, like the underwear and down to earth jeans. All reasonably priced. Miss the coffee place on the corner.

Forrest Chase has been a central Perth landmark for decades, with a narrow, open space for promotional displays and small events. It is surrounded on either side by a shopping mall with Myers at its heart on one side, and the former Australia Post head office (now private retailers) on the other. Prior to its development, Forrest Chase was known as Forrest Place, a small mall area that contained a flea market and various retail outlets for years. Today, there are coffee shops and restaurants nearby, and public seating adjacent to a modest, decorative water fountain. As both a thoroughfare from the city to the train station, and a people-friendly gathering location, the modern Forest Chase is an unmissable part of the Perth experience.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in the city centre…and it has changed significantly. Lots of vacant shops, an edge to it like there is a tension between law and order. I witnessed somebody walk past a shopfront, steal an item and keep walking…no repercussion. Its like its in a lock down. A shame as Perth is a beautiful city

  • 5/5 Matt F. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice mall with a lot of specially shops. Nice and clean in the mornings. The only downside (if there is one) is most shops don't open until 1100 on a Sunday. Apart from that there is everything catered for.

The heart of Perth city, that just doesn't seem to be beating! Perth city council need to do more to attract new, exciting vendors into this area. Feels very old, tired and run down. Could really use a lot more food and beverage options too. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

A nice selection of high brand stores along with Myers and JB HIFI with Woolworths on the ground floor. I haven't been into many stores as I'm usually just passing by to go to other places (Target, Carillon Arcade, train station, etc..). My only destination for this trip was to go to JB HIFI to buy a tablet.

This place looks half-decent and a tiny bit more welcoming to the city after the much needed, and long overdue, makeover. The balcony gives you a good viewing spot to enjoy all the commotion and rowdiness from below. Place is full of life in summer, having all the kids running around in the water fountains to all the delicious food stalls at the Twilight Night markets on Fridays.

  • 2/5 Vilma A. 2 years ago on Google
To be honest, there is nothing there apart from shops, it's a dull grey place to visit. No greenery at all. Oh there is a water fountain for kids to play in, even that looks dull

Always enjoy a trip to the city. It has definately improved over the years. Seems cleaner and more security are around so it feels safer. Great shops to browse in, plenty of food options. You see the diversity of the people in Perth and it is fascinating.

Do not ever go to this place, recently there was light shooting and police even showing up. Secondly, the floors are always sticky and are hard to walk on! I would give this place a 0 star if possible. But this place does have a few nice shops such as jewellery and clothing

The Murray Street mall where forest chase is located has some of Perth's best shopping from your grocery to high end jewellery and everything in between. With Christmas 🎄 just around the corner you'll find almost everything you need to keep everyone happy with gifts for every budget. 5 stars!

  • 3/5 Simon L. 2 years ago on Google
Surprised to see how dead this place was in comparison to previous years. Businesses shut or disappeared! Is it down to McGowan's policies of not allowing tourists into WA or other reasons?

  • 2/5 Sandra W. 2 years ago on Google
Could be a great area with cafes. Needs more Police to patrol area. If I was a tourist coming from the train station crossing over Wellington Street, it's not a nice site.

Easy to get around red cat stops wright out the front.. water features seem to keep in cool or give you the sense that's its cooler than it is in that WA harsh sun.. lots of variety in the store and the main player Myer and DJS are there...a few homeless people on some days but hey they don't really hurt anyone and it's a nice place to be for them I think

This is the Entrance to Perh City from Wellington street Train station. Some interesting features on the wide walkways, as well as artfully designed Water jets, that operate during the day and in Fine sunny days. Major Stage area used for multiple activities. All done in Marble, and Granite stone. Forrest Place leads to Hay Street Mall at one end, and Wellington Street in the other end

Renovations are ongoing near the "Cactus" at the front but it otherwise looks beautiful.

  • 1/5 Pamela M. 2 years ago on Google
Forrest Chase has become a ‘ghost town’ area that seems to have lost all of its charm. There’s groups of people sitting around all day (sometimes yelling obscenities at each other) which is really unpleasant to be near with kids especially. There’s a nice new coffee place there now so hopefully things will pick up and improve soon. It is no longer a place I would put on my list to visit and needs improving I’d we are to welcome tourists again
