Careless staff and making business out of patients. My close one was admitted in this hospital, the doctors told that just stitches to be done and rest everythings fine. And the hospital staff fails to give stitches to the patient even though he was an emergency patient. Pathetic hospital , they are seeking money by making patients stay for more days than expected.

1 month after having Plastic surgery not only did I get gangrene I also have been refused my surgery information and removed by security because I was in pain and up set!! Hard enough pill to swallow knowing that the surgeons are removing my left thumb knowing it was completely preventable but to be punished for being upset about it is unacceptable . I'm a full time mechanic and father who to no fault of my own is now handy capped!!

My partners grandmother was told she has a mass and was possibly cancer spreading and she would not have much time left, I called 6 times trying to get an update with no one knowing anything and the whole "skeleton crew" "someone was supposed to do a referral to palliative care but didn't sorry" "it's a fresh batch of doctors we have to wait, call back" it goes on and on. No one can tell you anything, my grandmother talks about being talked down to constantly and miss treated, just not good enough with the amount I pay in tax money! When you are told someone is terminal you would hope they have something more then just that info, like maybe why is she terminal, what is the problem causing this diagnosis. Please be better!

Rude staff. Came in to have a broken bone treated and unfortunately also had sinus infection at the time and was coughing my lungs up at the ED. Nurses AND doctors watched from the nurses station as I unstoppably coughed and choked for 15 mins. No one offered help. Also went for a quick xray and came back to my bed all cleaned up, sheets changed โ€“ they thought I'd already been discharged. So a nurse asked me to sit on a very uncomfortable plastic chair (usually reserved for a visitor) ALL because they didn't want to have to make my bed again, the nurse told me so herself and said, "sorry, is that totally annoying?" Tbh Iโ€™m not that fussy but surely that's not how you treat a patient who's in pain for not one but a few ailments, who came in by herself no less. Paid $1k for this so-called emergency service too.

It's a crazy-making encounter. My head was attacked by chemical causing a small wound, the young female doctor misdiagnosed saying there was no wound. I was surprised because it was very painful in that specific area. When I told her I had been attacked 3 times, she said there was an old scar. No new wound. Then the senior doctor confirmed there was no wound but she didn't check my head, she got CT Scan and blood test for me after I told them I was worried about brain damage. While they said the scan seemed only discoloured area in my brain, they arranged a psychiatrist and nurse to talk to me for an hour. Under the reason I was homeless and no money, the psychiatric nurse said they offered me to stay in mental health hospital or community mental health centre. I refused and felt they had already made the decision before they met me, they just tried to find contradictory words from me to give reasons when writing report. Then they let me stayed in the hospital overnight, every nurse told me doctor would come to see me but no doctor saw me for 13 hours. Instead they said they had arranged social worker but I said early on I didn't needed social worker. No doctor showed and explained to me about the brain scan or blood test. It's like they didn't need to tell me my situation. They put me in different people's hands without my consent because I'm homeless. But my homeless is caused by no work permission and no NGO support. It's not I want to stay outside. I found the wound I mentioned to the doctor had blood stain after I left the hospital, apparently she told lie ! If not the young female doctor in ER was in corruption, she was insane. Otherwise, she and the psychiatrc nurse discriminated homeless people as mental illness or they were racism. When I asked to leave the hospital, a nurse asked me, "Cynthia, are you going back to Hong Kong ?" I am an asylum seeker escaping from HK to find protection here. I'm not sure if they think I came here to use their resources or not. I can go to other safe country if Australian people do not align with humanity policy as their government promise in international community. I've no problem. But for any reason even in war zone, treating patient with professionalism including your enemies should be the basic ethic in the healthcare world. Now I'm really worried about they say I hurt myself in order to complain about them. Updated on 4th July 2023: As I went back ER to ask why there was blood bleeding from my head, nursesand doctors started using the word 'Scratching', they implied I scratched the my head to get that wound bleeding! It's totally defamation under the sun. As they introduced the word 'Scratching' under no evidence, the first female doctor who misdiagnosed me can free from blame. The level of integrity is that low and they loss conscience, I suggest you all keep health and give no chance to ER of Perth. Good luck !!

I was hit by a car on Wednesday whilst riding my scooter home from TAFE and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency by ambulance. I want to thank all the paramedics, nurses and doctors who looked after me and did every possible test to make sure my bones and internal organs were not affected by the collision. I stayed there from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. the next day and was discharged after confirmation. I only had muscle injuries and was able to return home safely. Thank you so much for all the support and kidness โค๏ธ

If you care about your health and more importantly, about your precious LIFE, do not attend this hospital. - Patients have the lowest priority in there - It is too unorganised and disordered - I spent more than $15000 so far to fix what their ignorance caused - Most of the doctors are just fresh interns or veterinarians

Once again turned away for asking for psychiatric help in the past 2 months. Sick of nurses who know nothing of mental health turning you away with sarcastic tones because you โ€œlook fineโ€ even though they refuse to call precious psychiatric facilities you have been in. Not sure this is right and itโ€™s happened twice now. I wish buster would stop gossiping and actually pay attention to their patients. I know Iโ€™m not the only person this has been done to as well. So itโ€™s not a once off! This hospital needs to review its polices because they are not providing duty of care.

Your in good hands @ RPH. This drab looking Hospital building on the outside runs like a Swiss watch on the inside. A highly efficient place ready to treat patients with helpful staff and excellent communication in all departments. From reception to Ward, Surgery and Recovery - to discharge. The best possible care. The entire team of admin, orderlies, security, nurses and Doctors had a positive and dedicated attitude - even the magazine seller. The surgeons and specialist Tom, Sam and Leon (& Anaesthetist Wim) were extremely skillful and worked with great care for the best outcome. Thoroughly satisfied and relieved (by the way my Hospital food/dinner was surprisingly tasty). Absolutely no complaints at all. Thanks RPH for a perfect Hospital experience!

I was admitted into ED a couple of nights ago. As an unvaccinated patient, nurses took extra precautions, I was isolated in a room for a few hours (I had covid, and was on day 8). I was treated like a patient regardless of my vac status. I was given treatment that I needed and the service I was given was great. I'd like to thank the doctors and nurses in ED (funny ladies), doctors & nurses from 3H covid ward; Lily, Julie, Berryl, Kate & Kelly (forgotten names of the others who were also champs). Discharge was smooth, along with treatment plan. Some improvements needed: The tea and coffee was too strong or bitter, but I appreciated their service, on time. Also, there was a minor miscommunication between front reception and ward nurses. No visitors were allowed as covid ward is self explanatory but front reception were unaware and given out dated info to my fam. All was sorted quickly and my goods were dropped off at reception and I received it within 20mins. Thank you RPH.

The vascular clinic here is no good and the specialists-i use that term lightlyโ€ฆ are incompetent and not helpful at all. I was sent for an ultrasound, who ever referred me did not write it down properly so only half of it was done. Had my appointment and was told I would need another and that they would send a new referral. Also had to have bloods taken on the day. I waited weeks for the referral, called three times and nothing. Finally on the fourth attempt I was told I would have an appointment over the phone Friday. Friday rolls around, another โ€œspecialistโ€ calls me and tells me I canโ€™t have the surgery because I donโ€™t have an ulcer from my veins. Told me they are problematic and leaky but I basically have to live with it because thereโ€™s no ulcer. Our health care system has gone so far down the drainโ€ฆthis is exactly how the government are starting to privatise healthcare. By slowly cutting back on what is and isnโ€™t allowed. Aside from that, Iโ€™m not happy that I was put through all the unnecessary tests if they werenโ€™t going to approve the surgery anyway! Wouldnโ€™t recommend this hospital to anyone.

been to this hospital with my friend twice in the past 24hrs for his mental health, knocked back first time by an absolutely lovely ed doctor because of the hospital mental health policy stating you cannot be assessed for mental health if youโ€™re intoxicated (terrible policy!). we went back again when he was sober, the triage nurses were lovely HOWEVER! if you need help for your mental health, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. the psych team saw my friend for not even 5 minutes and then discharged him, despite him being a danger to himselfโ€ฆ and they wonder why the suicide rates are so high! if not for the nice nurses and the good ed doctor i would be giving the ed as zero star rating, no questions asked.

I've been waiting since 7pm the 19th of October to have the top of my finger cut off because I jammed it. Been told twice now that they have moved the surgery back and back and no one is is a rush to cut off my dying finger when I have a funeral on Monday! I might as well rip it off my self! Because no body cares about it..

went their for a specialist appointment & to try to get what I needed-treatment for a relevant condition they don't seem to even acknowledge/care about! Also, wanted to donate blood but they made up inappropriate reason/s for me "not being able to"when I'm fit & healthy enough after filling out the forms-shame on them! People's lives are at stake & they miss out due to their pathetic ego trips & unprofessionalism!

Absolutely disgusted this hospital needs to be closed down haft the staff are useless and have no human relation skills you are left waiting for at times up to 35 minutes when buzzed and they need to be reminded of medication times or you just don't get it on time I will Be making a formal complaint to the minister for health. Rather disapointed with my treatment at this sespool the ceilings in some parts of the hospital have mold on them lack of correct notes of times by the inept nursing staff is atrocious and down right life threatening. All in all left no better off than when i was admitted. Very poor

Woke up during my hip replacement and had the anathiseist say to another I like the look in their eyes when they realise where they are. She then asked if I was allright , would I like something to put me out again. She then said there is nothing I can do , this was said with a huge smile. All the while I was coming in and out of consciousness listening to the saw cut through my femoral neck, and then having the sensation of someone hammering the new ball joint ii n.Not Happy

As far as the ED: Truly the most amazing team of over worked, under appreciated Nurses and Doctors on Earth. They come from nearly every country and assemble here to save lives of Western Australians. Tirelessly working around the clock they do such a marvelous job and rarely do they ever get acknowledged! I have lost count of how many times they have saved my father. Their triage is faultless and they are never rude no matter how busy they get. Beyond the ED, basically you are on your own. Consultants arrogantly refuse to listen to information that can cause lives to be lost. Repeated polite requests for information on patients are simply ignored. Should you actually challenge them then rather that listen, they push back even when wrong. So often jumping to conclusions, rather that aggregate pertinate information, I have been disgusted at the blatant arrogance displayed by a number of consultants. Even when wrong... When scientifically proved wrong, rather than work with a knowledgeable family member, I have been riduculed, rebuffed and condescended to. E.G. An arrogant South African Consultant in AMU ignored information of a patient going PRN on S8 Opiates and did not titrate the elderly patient, instead ignoring the profererred information and falling back on the age old UTI as a diagnosis... When challenged, I was abused and hung up on after waiting 2 days to talk to her. Nothing on earth surpasses the egos of certain consultants... Wrong or right, proof or not, only divine intervention grounds consultants... Oh and threats of involving the press and media. If a patient reaches a ward, noise levels make recovery a challenge. Behind a 1960's layout, 6 bed rooms are the norm. Even with private health cover. I hope the administrator contacts me to discuss my accusations... Alas that won't happen. They simply don't care... Prove my assertions wrong, Administrator... Before people die...

The emergency room of RPH was very efficient and was very pleased to leave my Dad overnight but once at the wards, definitely less than good enough โ€ฆ Dad had no lunch given for ages and he is diabetic - I know the system leaves much to be desired but certain things should have some priority โ€ฆ.. like food โ€ฆ. Like his medication โ€ฆ. I just want to be given Information - I am here at 10am and stay till night โ€ฆ. There is often no one keeping me informed โ€ฆ. It is frustrating !! Of course there are some really good nurses who really take time to help ..thumbs up to them โ€ฆ. Just needed to say that so maybe services can improve โ€ฆ

Well my husband has been transferred here from Charles Gardiner. He has a severe migraine continuous and has been put into a 4 bed place that is noisy and bright. No one seems to realise this. I hate it. There was no where to park and no signs so I had no idea where I was going. It is awful. I hate it and cannot be with my husband because it is upsetting me too much. If you live round here great but I don't.

Firstly, I sustained a fracture to my foot and apparently they had no wheelchairs available so I had to hop around. I did not get a bed only a chair to sit on once inside the emergency ward. Then, I was told I only had a sprain after an xray had been done. I wasnt even asked if I had hit my head when I fell. The staff here were not that nice either. Luckily I went to another hospital that confirmed I had a fracture. They really shouldnt discharge patients giving them the wrong information. I would not go back here again.

Excellent care my Son had a traumatic work accident aged 17. The surgeons and nurses were incredible, dedicated and compassionate. 19 hours of surgery the first night for my Son. One Doctor even slept there over night when things were critical so she would be near by. I was so very grateful for their efforts and dedication. My Son also. Thank you for your amazing efforts and compassion for those in real need.

If I could gove RPH below one I would. They wouldn't know what is good for their patients. If you have money off course they want to know you, but if you dont then you may as well look elsewhere for help. People say that people are going to other countries for help, well here is th reason why, places like RPH

Just want to thank the whole Royal Perth Hospital team, from the Drโ€™s whom performed the surgery, to the nurses, orderlyโ€™s and the rest of the support staff. My wifeโ€™s experience with the Royal Perth vascular team was of the highest standard, they were professional, knowledgeable, motivating, friendly and most importantly caring. It made for a difficult time for my wife and our family a really positive experience. Thank you

Horrendous experience; took my husband to this hospital on the 5 November for a suspected infection. 3 1/2 days later he was discharged with no treatment and an appointment 8 days later with plastics just for a "check up". It felt like we were in a third world hospital and that the doctors did not care whether their patient lived or died. My husband is now at home and looks very unwell indeed. He will probably need to go back to hospital by ambulance again this evening, hopefully not to this backward hospital and anyone needing to go to hospital should avoid this one at all costs. But the redeeming quality the nurses are nice and concerned for their patients and some of them seemed shocked that the doctors were sending my husband home. My husband went in as a private patient too he has problems with infections and now they just expect him to wait another 8 days; where is their duty of care? If I could give this place minus 5 I would I shall certainly advise any one thinking of going there to go to another hospital.

I would like to express my impressions as a patient at the Royal Perth Hospital. The large number of specialists who took excellent care of me is unthinkable in Germany. The friendly relaxed and compassionate nursing staff did me so good. In Germany, everyone is under stress and time constraints, and not just in the clinic. Everything has to happen quickly. Human concerns cannot play a role. The four Dresden emergency rooms turned me down even with suicidal pain from a urinary tract infection because I didn't have a fever. The food at the Royal Perth hospital was very good and sufficient. Unpredictable medical crisis situations can hardly occur in your hospital because your ongoing controls are so good. Many thanks and great praise to the human and professional highly professional staff. With grateful regards!

The staff are friendly and respectful, but I entered at 11am and they attended me at 4.45pm. I asked 5 times if they would call me and in the end I had to go AWOL to the ER to get someone to see me. The rest of the patients were also seen very late (when I arrived there were no more than 10).

6 hours wait in the Rapid Assessment and Decision Area; someone ask their definition of Rapid? Apart from that, the actual injury management etc once you are looked at is spot on (thumbs up to doctors, nurses, surgeons, and other staff). If only the ED wait times could be looked at (perhaps an outpatient counter to process non urgent but necessary patients - like me).

I should have never visited the hospital that night. what a bad experience it was. I waited so long to see a doctor but it was like playing a waiting game, and when asked the nurses about how long I need to wait, the response was: ''Do you want the doctor to attend you leaving behind the one who is badly injured''? What does that mean by the way? who is not in pain in the emergency department? How many doctors are there, just one? MOST IMPORTANTLY, I NEVER WENT THERE BEGGING FOR A FREE ADMISSION.

I presented to RPH ED on April 27th at 3am. I was in severe pain as I was suffering a sudden gall attack. I just wanted to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors I seen in ED who helped me and was patient with me when I couldnโ€™t say much at the start due to being in so much pain. My bed and myself from ED was then escorted and transferred to the other side of building RPH Ward 5ASU (Acute Surgical Unit). Although I ended up being there for 5 days and had been cancelled on surgery 3 times due to walk in more urgent cases I was overall still happy with the experience. The nurses especially in the ASU were so lovely and gave amazing care and service. I have never been to hospital before so it was very comforting to have comforting/caring people around me. I thank the doctors for removing my gall bladder urgently and for keeping care of me over those 5 days also.

Have attended emergency twice for Atrial Fibrfilation. Thank you RPH for the excellent care shown to me whilst in your care. I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent care, patience and understanding, everything explained clearly and the nursing staff fabulous and cheerfull for that time of the morning. If you feel like complaining about the hospital maybe you should be taking a longer look at your own attitude and manners towards staff. Thanks once again. Margret Sullivan

Another visit that can only be described as excellent (once again), for treatment @ RPH. All staff (the entire team) that I have met (from reception to specialists) appear to have a consistently positive / cheerful and dedicated attitude in their daily activities (despite the heavy workload). Communication among the health professionals (and patient) is amazing and results in a seamless and relaxed experience as one is walked or wheeled (and the attention given) from one place to another. Once in theater for the operation (probably the best part of all) - a close knit team of doctors, nurses and specialists work in what seems like perfect harmony to produce the best possible outcome! Once again, a big thanks to all staff @ RPH!

Royal Perth Hospital has been a kind oasis for my trauma surgery. HUGE thank you to the massive team that got me patched up and on my way to healing. Yes there were waits, for no doubt pressing life saving emergencies. I am still ever grateful to get such amazing help for my first hospital admission ever. Thank you to the patient Shari and joyful Giselle at admissions, and friendly Ash in surgery registration. Zeke, Joseph & Mandeira helped transport me around with some lovely chats and fresh air! Thanks smiling Vanessa and warm Shane in the surgery area who effortlessly alayed my nerves. Thank you to Dr Dan the surgeon who generously got me squeezed in, metalled & moving even though the team no doubt stayed late! So grateful to get in the break time window! Thanks to Lawrence & his lady flamingo partner (Kendal?) Anaesthesiologists who smoothly transitioned me to sleep & kept me breathing. The surgery recovery ladies were awesome! Friendly, efficient & entertaining. I was a bit out of it, but I do remember my rockstars name rhymes with Quiche! Thank you!! Many thanks to the tireless and constantly on call ward nurses - helpful Lulu, kind Stacey, enthusiastic Flick, warm Annie, and the lovely smiling Jenny. Thank you to Dr Luke Ortho question answerer and yay! release. Patient and empathetic Physio Tim and informative caring occupational Luka. Thanks also to the knowledgeable pharmacist Ethan with his great analogies. My eternal gratitude to all of you and the many more whose names I missed. A huge caring warm hug to the massive hard working, yet always smiling team at Royal Perth, you are wonderful and very much appreciated! Best wishes, Liezl 14 & 15 June hospital stay, Orthopaedics, Ward 4

I cannot thank the brilliant staff at RPH enough for the care they have provided to our eldest daughter before, during and after some serious surgery. I can't believe anyone would review a hospital badly, particularly Royal Perth. I've had to visit emergency here twice in the last 4 years and the team are amazing. First time I had to stay awake for a 3 hour nose surgery after a dog bite... See definitely not fun! This time a work injury, once again, staff are amazing, service level is high and ultra professional. Thank you Royal Perth Hospital team. I very much appreciate all of your hard work.

I took my son to the emergency room at 2am on Boxing Day, suffering chest pains and anxiety. The nurses and other staff were fantastic and gave him five star care. We are very grateful to them. We did have to wait a while for a doctor to see him but there were more serious emergencies that they had to attend to first which we totally accept. I recommend this ER if you need after hours medical treatment.

My son was hospitalised in the trauma ward since Wednesday (26/8/20). I would like to thank all the staff in the trauma ward for their care and attentiveness. From the lovely lady at the entry point, to the tireless nurse(s), to the orderlies, this old hospital has some amazing people in its employ. Thank you all for being the everyday unsung heroes.

My husband was rushed to RPH and in the two days that he spent in this hospital he had multiple tests, high professional care and a well balanced diet. Breakfast was better than aeroplane food. Sleep quality was poor but had nothing to do with the care he received. He came home armed with the correct medication for his condition and is now on the mend. Thank you to all staff at the Acute Medical Department.

I can find no fault with anything about my stay. The staff and medical team were fantastic. I know medical staff are meant to have and show a high level of care, however the staff I had went above and beyond that level. Was to feel comfortable and at ease.

We witnessed so many mistakes during our trip to the ER. From failed sanitary measures, no gloves when taking blood, dried blood splatter on the roof above the bed. Rude nurse who wrote incorrect information; wrote pain to be a 3/10 when told it was 6/10, wrote wrong allergy information, spelt middle name wrong. Was told we didn't want to take a certain medication, they said there's nothing we can do, just increase meds. The doctor was not happy when tapendol was declined, raised his voice and started becoming more aggressive. We are about to go to another ER per our GPs recommendation, who said he wasn't happy with the results of the Royal Perth Hospital. TLDR: Avoid because they have no idea what they're doing.

I had an accident with an angle grinder - cut my thigh pretty deeply. The staff are clearly very busy, particularly in the ED, but even still the quality of care I received and that I witnessed given to others was excellent. As far as hospitals go it isn't the prettiest, or the most modern, but at the beating heart of it, the staff and expertise within it are top notch. I'm very grateful for the care I received and thank the staff for helping me in my time of need.

Just share to everyone. I been in Royal Perth hospital mental health ward for more then 3 weeks. I had be brave to told doctor I want to go home. So they discharge me. I pack my bags. Waiting for my medication at hospital for nearly 4hrs. I told them I have to get taxi home because I came to hospital with ambulance. I don't know how to by bus which I always drive. After 4hrs they told me they can't give me taxi voucher and they don't have . It's nearly 6:30. I have no money and can't get anyone pick me up. Also I have no family here. I'm so stress and sad. I'm crying ask nurse how I can get home. They told me Im discharge now. Nothing they can help me. Bring my bags put outside ward then left me there. Other patients saw me ask me whats going on. I told them I don't know how to get home. And no one can help me. In the end I have to walk home. I feel like why not just let e die. Why no one told me I can't get taxi voucher while I'm waiting for my medication. So I can possibly get my friends to help me. ๐Ÿ˜ญ And yes I just walk from hospital to Morley. Carry 3 bags with me. I just feel everything is unlucky happens on me. ๐Ÿ˜ข

The worst experience ever, never organised, staff lost my file after waiting 5hrs at the ER. Had a hand cut and bleeding and I had to wait this long, other patients were passing through till I politely asked whatโ€™s going on to know that theyโ€™ve lost my file!! No one would like to be at a hospital but a bit of attention would make a big difference I reckon, front staff donโ€™t wonโ€™t to get bothered to be asked any question.. one of the nurses agreed saying itโ€™s not the best medical system at all. Nothing more to add..

Had an open liver resection in march this year. Was super anxious leading up to the op. But the doctor's, surgeons and theatre nurses were all really supportive, they explained everything to me and were very reassuring. Also the ward nurse Darren was also amazing. Shame he couldn't of been my nurse for the duration of my stay.

Everyone from the cleaners and caterers right through to the nurses and physios were bloody fantastic! Never went more than a few minutes without someone poking their head around the corner to check on me. Nothing was too much trouble to make sure I was as comfortable as possible... you are amazing! Thank You!...Changing my review now to a full 5 Stars. Had surgery on Wedneday to toally replace my right hip. Waited for about 2 years for this major operation. The surgeon and team were simply top drawer. I just got discharged (Saturday), and am already able to walk with the aid of a zimmer frame. I practiced all my exercises earnestly. So now I can put significant weigh through the hip and am able to shower standing up. Thank you to ALL Royal Perth Staff (esp. Dr Sam Young) - you have changed my life - I am grateful beyond belief. *I just have to be careful st first that I don't get over confident and try to do too much.

    * Sent on behalf of my parents At approximately 7:30PM on Wed 8/9, my husband and I were brought to RPH emergency by ambulance after being involved in a motor vehicle accident. It was clear that the hospital was under a lot of pressure in terms of workload and staffing. In spite of this, we were extended an exemplary level of service from the time of admission to when we were discharged the following day. Being the first time we have ever been admitted to hospital, this was a stressful experience but the outstanding customer service of all staff negated this significantly. Special thanks to Dr Iffat Zaman and the yellow team as well as the critical care unit. Especially following a trauma, their expertise, patience, kindness and care was most reassuring and very sincerely appreciated.

Nurses were amazing. Every time I asked about my condition I was told very little at appointments Drs only wanted to explain my cancers and stomach after they perforated my stomach wall. What was a 1 day surgery turned into 10 days. I was then moved ward to a bed that literally had construction site outside my window exacerbating the problem even further. Now day16 and so far worse off than when I came here. Honestly, apart from the staff the management show no care here What's worse is still have to come back for more tumour removals and cannot see how I will be able to do that.

Went to have a procedure, that required precision whilst in CT scanner. 1st reception lady at X-ray was lovely. The team were fantastic! When I got into the room, tried hard to cover up the overwhelm I was feeling. Each member of staff explained every step of the procedure - even down to rustling as they were covering equipment. Such excellent service - male nurse just took even extra care making sure everything was as good as it could be. Really great team who helped make this a smooth appointment.

One elder friend of mine is literally having chronic back pain and got admitted there. The hospital showed lack of humane towards him and didn't offer him with proper food to stay stable and the cafeteria is also reportedly to be closed whereas the service is known to be given for 24 hours. Please be take care of all these and to the ones who's to rush there for emergency, carry basic necessities and one of them is surely, a proper meal so that you don't starve for their unprofessionalism

I attended the RPH Cardiolab for a pacemaker fitting and was so impressed with the technicians, nurses and doctors that performed my day procedure. The premises were spotless and user friendly and my appointment starting at the RPH Covid screening station to my procedure and discharge was first class. I left the unit with good takeaway information relating to my procedure. I can easily say that we Australians are so lucky to have a public health system that includes amazing hospitals such as Royal Perth Hospital. I would rate RPH among the best of hospitals I have attended in Perth both private and public and would not hesitate to attend this hospital if required in the future. Steve Ingram - Innaloo

Had my fractured foot attended to here which I felt was taken good care of during the short ๐Ÿฅถ hospital stay. Four months later, I am still in pain and still unable to walk without two crutches. I'm getting to the point of cabin fever now but see my physio at Bentley. The last med prac at RPH trauma that I saw, just looked at me as if I was a hypochondriac when I told him that I literally cannot walk due to pain. He gave me a script for Tramadol which made absolutely no difference in managing the pain; in fact the meds just turned me into an angry person ๐ŸคฌThe My Health record x-rays state that it's my left foot when it is actually my right foot! Take note that there may be data entry inaccuracies in records, which can lead to other problems in the future. Check that your personal information is correct, unless of course you don't really care which is ok I guess too if you wanna not be a part of their system. . Just recently, I have noticed that my dad's medical information is included in my medical history via my GP - I am an adult, a seperate entity...and we don't go to the same medical practice ? The only door left open here for such a mistake is R Perth Hospital which he had attended for the correlating information which is found in MY medical records. Someone mentioned Medical Negligence ๐Ÿค” or just continue to be slapped by the revolving doors of what this world has become...not long to go now.

I was recently admitted for an appendectomy at Royal Perth Hostpital. I got to triage at 10PM on a Monday (Not what anyone wants) and the reality of my next couple days hadnโ€™t had time to sink in. Of course, having a positive experience at a hospital is simply unrealistic, and you need to understand that the staff are working as hard as they can (at all times of the day/night) but you will need to sit and wait and be as patient as you can, this is life. After waiting in Triage, my blood was taken to test for signs and symptoms, the care and communication I received was more than I couldโ€™ve ever asked for. To be honest, the entire process since that moment was nothing but kind, communicative professionalism. I ended up staying for 2 nights as I had my appendix removed and recovered from the surgery. There wasnโ€™t a single moment I felt uncomfortable or worried, the staff ensured my cares, concerns and understandings were all met and maintained. Although I donโ€™t remember the operation, the team that I met briefly before made me a lot more comfortable to be unconscious and having parts removed. In reflection, there was no way I would have even thought that I could have that positive of an experience in such a negative situation, which is why I believe this hospital needed a review to reflect that. Not to mention that the Australian healthcare covered all of the costs and I didnโ€™t have to pay a cent. So to the team at Royal Perth, Thank you for your time and professionalism, it truly made my journey a memorable one in all the right ways.

Staff at the counters were amazing. Those who get you ready for the doctor, super efficient and informative. Doctor himself, not experienced or doesnโ€™t care about the patients. He worked the night shift on Sunday the 24th of September. I had respiratory issues. Trouble breathing and wheezing. Clearly can hear these things just standing next to me. Was told to wait it out, use panadol. As Iโ€™m allergic to ingredients in nurofen etc. Turns out the viral throat infection he said I had was pneumonia. How do I know because Iโ€™ve had it before time and time again. Itโ€™s in my notes. Which he neglected to read. 4 days Iโ€™ve been spewing up mucus and blood, high temperatures and not being able to eat much due to all the spewing my throats copping it. Iโ€™ve managed to source my own antibiotics and day 5 Iโ€™ve taken 2 rounds. And it seems to have kicked in. Why make people wait it out? Especially people that donโ€™t take regular medication, which is a good thing because then theyโ€™re more likely to work.

I have nothing but praise for the quality of care I recently received during my unexpected stay at RPH, both in the Emergency Unit and the Acute Surgery Unit. The staff were constant and consistent across shifts, in the level of attention, care and communication they provided. Despite being in a public ward, I felt safe at all times and that I was being given the best treatment for my condition. There were a couple of times that I noticed a thoughtful personalised response to dealing with my particular circumstances. When in constant pain and exhaustion is it easy to be aggravated and overwhelmed by every little noise, lights and sharing a space with other people. However, having been mostly a private patient in the past, I believe the standard of care that I received RPH is absolutely first rate and I would like to thank each person I dealt with for supporting me through a difficult time.

I fall while playing football and I went to emergency room. They did my X-rays on knee and sent me home with report of small tissue tear and after a month they call me and told me they found fracture (While I start to go on work). After I need to do MRI found out I have ACL tear. Due to the doctor neglect that cause emotional trauma. Date: 16 September 2023 ( 1st visit to ER and got report of my knee X-ray) and 11 October 2023 when they call me about my fracture . I hope some one look to the mistake the doctor has caused me and please enquiry about this.

Disappointing interaction with RN in acute medical unit this am . My aunt 81 yr old was admitted to RPH. Last evening. Very rude and abrupt. Not interested to listen to information that the nok number they have has been disconnected and therefore they have no other contact. 100% understand privacy rules as I am only her my aged care representative. I train people in Privacy Act so didnโ€™t need a lecture when I did my ask for information but was merely wanting to share information. Get another job! You are clearly burnt out and canโ€™t show an ounce of empathy or compassion. I am an RN and have never treated a patient or their family so rudely!

VERY VERY BAD ( PLEASE READ ) this is not a place for your loved ones!! After my partner (female) was placed in a room with males and giving Panadol for her broken arm, I had to say something. My partner wasnโ€™t looked after. the place was disgusting, my partner doesnโ€™t have her own room nor space and that bugged me, her dinner was absolutely terrible and they continue to fail me, as always. Good staff though. Just not good in accommodating people, also NO HYGIENE in there They didnโ€™t even have a sling for her arm and said we had to wait till the old one dried, as the old sling was drying over the rail on her bed, she was just sitting there holding her broken arm for hrs
