They have redefined the word โ€œEmergencyโ€ there. Very very slow. Apparently if you are not already dead then you can wait and suffer for ever. Brought my wife there two nights ago at 10pm with pain, they only checked her blood pressure and after that we waited for more than 3 hours with no results. When I asked, they said we have to wait at least for couple of more hours. The area around the ER feels very unsafe. A lot of disturbed people wandering around ER in the middle of night aimlessly. Maybe that is part of reason that ER donโ€™t take the patients seriously. Eventually, after 4 hours we decided to go home around 2pm as there was no sign of progress in the waiting room. I donโ€™t know what is the problem there, staff or space shortage? Inefficient procedures? Whatever it is they need to fix them. Honestly I received much better service in a third world country ER.

I was on the 11th floor where the pain management team is. I had a infusion done. I was treated really well and looked after all the time.. They definitely calmed my nerves down and im grateful for that.. I have no issues nor complaints to make or say. So Thankyou to all the nursing staff at the pain management team.. Warm regards, Susan Lang ๐Ÿ˜€

I've been lucky to be here on a Friday night or two and last time I was there it was ok but could do with some improvements. First round came along and although the crackhead was feisty it didn't take long for the two police officers to get him under control. It was over an hours wait before round two started. I could hear this crackhead from the car park while having a cigarette and was quite confident that this guy would put up a good fight. My money was on him but I couldnt find where to place my bets. Maybe putting up better signage for the punters in the room ? This guy was like a bull out of a gate but didn't really get to see his full potential as he was surrounded by police and security guards. I'm not telling you guys how to run your events as you obviously still pull a crowd but maybe more one on one sort of fights so it's a bit more of a level playing field. Maybe prodding the crackheads while they are still in the van so they are more determined could be good. And definetly get some drug testing going on. If this sport is to continue everyone needs to be equal. I reckon at least one of those guys was clearly on something

Truly the most amazing team of over worked, under appreciated Nurses and Doctors on Earth. They come from nearly every country and assemble here to save lives of Western Australians. Tirelessly working around the clock they do such a marvelous job and rarely do they ever get acknowledged! I have lost count of how many times they have saved my father. Their triage is faultless and they are never rude no matter how busy they get.

Visited the level 3 Breast Cancer Clinic several times in September, all staff were fantastic nice even the atmosphere is always "heavy" with the positive diagnosis. Thanks for all the kindness and useful information before the biopsy and lumpectomy on the Halloween day. All nurses, especially the nurse manager, were wonderfully friendly and professionally helpful. Even the F&B delivery and my bed transporters were so friendly and polite. I felt like a VIP in there. Though my neighbour patients were a bit negative with their situations. Thank for my surgeon who performed a little act to cheer me up in the morning check up. The discomfort after the surgery urged me to the ED twice, two days and 10 days after the surgery. The staff in the ED frontline were nice and efficient compare to the other hospitals in Perth or in Asian. I was treated fairly with an Asian ethnic and had asked the same question twice to the same nurse at triage. Since my GP refused to treat my surgical wound and had to go to the ED, I had to wait for over three hours at the waiting room for both nights. I am sorry that I seemed wasting the ED resources but all of us understand that any infection will cause me big. Once I was inside the ED ward, the nurses were all very nice, especially those at the 3rd of November, made me felt like a VIP. The ED doctors were so busy but still quite nice to me. Thanks for the Asian ED surgeon who I met on both night, she was sincerely kind and professionally cleared all my doubts. To all the ED and Breast Cancer Clinic staff, please accept my appreciations for the wonderful treatments to kill my cancer, cure my body, and make me feel good. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

I do not recommend this Hospital in any way, shape or form. If it was possible to give a rating of 0 stars I would most definitely be giving that for this so-called medical facility. The staff are rude, complacent and do not show any compassion towards anyone that has the misfortune of having to be treated there. Your belongings and valuables WILL be looted and pillaged at any given opportunity the staff have...and if they themselves aren't the ones stealing people's belongings, they are completely complacent and unsympathetic towards you when it happens. I pray for anyone that reads this review that they never have to end up in the run-down hallways of this bottom of the rung Hospital

Recently had to visit RPH because of what turned out to be a lingering chest infection. I was whisked into a little cubicle and hooked up to machines pretty fast, the staff were lovely and diligently performed their tasks, swirling the sample stick in my nose before putting it in my throat and assuring me that's how it's done. I think they forgot to prescribe me a basic antibiotic and it took me a week to get to a GP who would, while my body tried to fight off the infection in my lung, which I was assured wasn't viral, unless it was as yet undiscovered. I don't want to question medical staff but even my regular GP couldn't understand why they didn't take the most basic of steps, as he did which ended up resolving the issue. Cheers guys. Being sick and missing work rocks

I had a stomach flu & vomited blood. I had to wait for 4 hours, suffering then finally told when I asked how much longer it would be that it would take at least another 4 hours to see someone. So I took an Uber to another hospital & was attended to within the hour. I appreciate the nurses & staff are doing the best that they can with the resources, staffing & funding available but it was a horrible experience.

Maybe it was the time of day, but I waited less than an hour to be seen. From start to finish - the staff in the forward tent, to the nurses and doctors in the department and additional teams, everyone was lovely and respectful.

The emergency services are awful. Came in with undone stitches in a lot of pain and bleeding but still took over 2.5 hours to see a nurse.. That waiting time is unacceptable, especially for emergency..

Incredible staff that do not get enough credit for the fine work they do. This triage runs as well as it possibly can within the ageing interior of RPH.

This is the worst ER in Perth. I think they should review the procedures to attend people, check with the nearby ER and direct patient to other places so they do not need to way 5 hrs in pain. When. The other hospitals are not as busy. I am amazed people do not die on the waiting room. Looks likea Third World countries hospital.

The start of my experience at the tent out front was horrible. The ladies demanding me to breathe slower when that was one of my struggles, then also leaving me unattended on a chair when I feeling faint and had to sit myself down. Inside the nurses and doctors were good assistance, but surprised they could give me a ultrasound referral, instead having to go to organise doctors appointment as well.

Irresponsible staffs working here. Keeps walk-in emergency patients waiting for hours. The staffs working in Triage Counters are complete idiots. Inspite of receiving a written paperwork that contains all the details about the patient, they prefer asking the same questions over and over again wasting time, instead if looking into the emergency situation of the patient. Once the staff asks the patient to wait in the black chair, they totally forgets that they kept some patients waiting.

Took him off pain medication in one day when we were told he would be weaned off slowly. Not enough information provided. Pronounced son in law dead without family members being there.

Most discusting culture amongst ENT drs I've ever seen in any staff at any hospital in Australia actually honestly wouldn't send a stuffed toy to them rude arrogant no treatment after waiting 2+yrs admin enable the discusting behaviour and not just one dr ,,training drs teaching some the same arrogant ways ..... Scary thing is those drs work at other places too hopefully they aren't spreading that culture further a field ........ After complaining about first appointment lack of treatment etc gave another try omg next one didn't even open the file told me nothing wrong all in space of 5-10min ....funny test my GP did showed different story the tests can't lie but the dam drs do don't trust them is all I can say better still find a reputable ENT Dept make sure non of Royal Perth ENTs work there as well ... If you have to go have legal advice on speed dial ....

Came in to emergency room with severe pain, thank god bought my medication along, waited in the waiting room for 5 hours with pain at the end just booked an appointment with my gp and left, this is really disappointing for the tax we are paying, the service is poor, would have given them 0 stars, better to wait in the comfort of home with pain than to go to this place.

My partner and I came to the Royal Perth Hospitalโ€™s emergency two times in the same night (as he couldnโ€™t wait anymore at the first time so we left and came back) and it was the longest wait for only few patients. As a European, I would say that someone would have been taken into surgery for such a long wait in emergency in Europe. We see that they are joking inside while my partnerโ€™s nose started to bleed and he was vomiting non-stop then someone came out of the room and scolded us like we are child to put on the mask or go outside when my partner was about to faint. Just ridiculous!

Great experience with Doctors and nurses. Treated with dignity and respect. Given staff names and full explanations of what was being done and how my case progressed. As someone transferred for day surgery from the polar opposite: SJOG Midland who are put to shame by RPH, quite frankly I didn't want to leave as this was the only time during my lengthy hospital treatment that I felt safe in the care of hospital staff. Well done Royal Perth: Keep up the good work! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‰

The nicest nurses and doctors I've ever met! Especially at 3 am on a Saturday morning with a semi-intoxicated female with a bad foot from night clubbing. Had a good laugh and was informed on every step of the way! My partner was also made to feel welcome too. Props to the two nurses that I saw straight away(can't remember names but one had glasses and a really cool tattoo sleeve and the other a brunette with glasses), they cheered me up and kept my weekend spirit going! Got sent home with crutches a prescription and pressure bandage, which is really above my expectation. Short waiting times and even the triage nurse was chirpy and the xray lady. Been to lots of hospitals lately due to other personal reasons but I think if I have to I will definitely go there! Thank you again!

Yhea, nice nurses and lucky have a hovering nurse, that wonders in and out the waiting room asking if anyone needs anything but what about the elephant. The pa announcements are mostly muffled, like blast noise. While conversing with the ambo driver about my particular problem, an a triage nurse told me to โ€œtake seatโ€, No thanks, I have plenty of seats at home, donโ€™t need another. In the meantime, Iโ€™m waiting, in the โ€œwaiting roomโ€ with the parking meter running at $5 an hour and the pa still blasting out gibberish. For F sake, find a person that has a clear sounding voice.

The staff in emergency from walking into emergency to going thru to be seen to coming out after being seen was all a good experience. Staff were all polite, professional, caring and attentive. Although the initial wait to be seen was about an hour (which is to be expected as the were extremely busy) there was a staff nurse walking around keeping people informed on how they were progressing in the queue before being seen...

My elderly mum was taken to Emergency Department this morning, and I followed a couple of hours after that. In the emergency ward it is not possible to just walk in and be with the patient, as approval is needed first from the medical staff. After waiting almost three hours, I had to leave without actually seeing my mum. Later in the afternoon I returned, and this time found that my mum was in the Emergency Medicine Ward - and this time it was a lot quicker to actually get to see her. While the wait was a total waste of my time - the staff took very good care of my mum's medical needs and I am grateful for that. It would be good, however, to inform visitors on arrival of how this process works, as that would save them waiting around for many hours.

Even as a foreigner they were really nice and also able to bill direct with the insurance - thanks for helping out and make pain going away ... Canโ€™t understand lot of bad reviews maybe thatโ€™s while taking care of people need probably time and making people upset. Also the staff was confronted with a huge amount of druggies and menthol sick people I recogn which is quite tough...

I presented to RPH ED on April 27th at 3am. I was in severe pain as I was suffering a sudden gall attack. I just wanted to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors I seen in ED who helped me and was patient with me when I couldnโ€™t say much at the start due to being in so much pain. My bed and myself from ED was then escorted and transferred to the other side of building RPH Ward 5ASU (Acute Surgical Unit). Although I ended up being there for 5 days and had been cancelled on surgery 3 times due to walk in more urgent cases I was overall still happy with the experience. The nurses especially in the ASU were so lovely and gave amazing care and service. I have never been to hospital before so it was very comforting to have comforting/caring people around me. I thank the doctors for removing my gall bladder urgently and for keeping care of me over those 5 days also.

Very rude For the emergency department , they are like โ€œ unless you are dying , hold your pain to see a GP . Donโ€™t come here to waste my medical resources ! โ€œ I was soooo much in pain crying . I woke up my 7 years old daughter 3am and they told me three times โ€œ this is not emergency .you should go to GP โ€œ While they gave me treatment , they just told me nonstop โ€œ this is GPโ€™s job . Not emergency โ€œ I didnโ€™t go there 3am for a mosquito bite !!!!!! I guess they will only run around for me if my affection caused me amputation . If I can give 0 star, I will .

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful, respectful and comprehensive service. The treatment that we received was first class. Warm, friendly and humane. Unfortunately we needed to get a minor injury checked on a Public Holiday and the city medical centre referred us to the hospital A & E as they would charge a minimum of $110 and had no nursing staff if a procedure was required. Obviously the hospital had a skeleton staff on duty and it took 2.5 hours to check the wound and write a prescription for antibiotics.

Had signs and symptoms which appeared to be musculoskeletal in origin, but RPH ED Staff took care to listen to my history and check things thoroughly. Pulmonary emboli (lung clots) were found and anticoagulation started before this had a chance to become a more serious problem. Can't thank RPH ED people enough for their kindness and skill. Disclaimer - I work at RPH. I know however that Staff in ED and elsewhere at RPH work hard to "go the extra mile" for as many people as possible, often under quite difficult conditions (eg: combative patients, consistently high patient loads).

I had a bad experience here. They did not take me seriously (it was the weekend and I had a drs appointment on the Monday but was in severe pain and unsure if I needed urgent imaging). I recommend going somewhere else if you have the option, perhaps seeing an afterhours gp or one of the urgent care options, first and getting them to refer you to an emergency or for urgent imaging. It may be because I don't present externally with pain as people would expect. Multiple times I have received the feedback "you would be in more pain if [diagnosis] was the case" followed by the diagnosis being the case after testing, imaging, or visual symptoms becoming more apparent. So perhaps it's not the case with everyone. Regardless, the staff were very polite which I appreciated.
