Hospital Medical clinic

😠 Second time here, each time over 2.5 hours wait. Not sure how appointments are being managed (if they are at all!), but this hospital needs some major improvements in its processes. It would have been great if RPH's management read these reviews and had some action on them as running a public hospi... People often mention time, waiting, appointment, people, hours, staff, wait, clinic, helpful, service,

I had an appointment at 14:00 and arrived early at 13:50 (to find the right room and allow for any paperwork to fill out before). At 14:25 I was still waiting and had to renew my parking. By 14:55 I was still waiting and was going to be late for my next commitment at 15:30 if I didn't leave then. If someone had said there may be an hour wait in the beginning that would have been nice. What a waste of parking, fuel, and time. :'(

It's Public Health, FREE to people with Medicare cards. There's a big sign stating a 2 or 3 hour wait from your appointment time. There's 5 clinics operating from the 1 waiting room. Bring snacks and fully charged phone. Be prepared for a long wait.

It would have been great if RPH's management read these reviews and had some action on them as running a public hospital this way is a waste of tax payer money. Well, a review rating of 2.3 tells quite a lot how RPH is performing 😔

I can not fault Royal Perth Hospital in all of the care and kindness they have shown towards me. Yes, you may have to wait, but at the end of the day the care is number 1!!! Delays are inevitable as this is a public hospital. We are very blessed to have such an amazing hospital service!! Thank you to all the staff, you do a truly amazing job. I am glad I live in Australia!!!!

What is the point of having a scheduled appointment time if they operate under a first in first served system. I don't understand how I can have an appointment scheduled for first thing in the morning, I arrive on time, and still have 7 people infront of me?

I totally get that it’s free but three hours waiting??? Appointment at 12pm. Waited two and a half hours to be seen for ten mins. Then sent to get an ex ray and wait time was another 45 mins. There must be a better way. Surely the well-being of injured patients should be taken into account. Surely they have a duty of care especially to the elderly. I can’t believe you even have to make an appointment it’s ludicrous. It seems that the wealthy who can afford private cover for these things are more important than hard working low paid people. There has to be a better way!!!

Normally I would accompany my daughter who has breast cancer to all appointments. Today however I was refused to go with her. I'm also her carer. Yet another lady who had appointment same doctor was allowed to have her mum with her ! Not impressed Appointment tine was 9am. My daughter didn't go in til 10am . 3 hr wait in a cold waiting room.

How absolutely disgraceful that the ORTHOPAEDIC outpatient clinic has doors to the toilet that are heavy, hard to open with no regard for disabled persons or people who have had, you know - leg/foot surgery.. An excusable place to have to ask a nurse to assist with your toileting to OPEN THE DOOR when you could normally do it yourself if the doors weren’t so bad.

I have consistently received excellent treatment and courtesy at the Dermatology Outpatients's Clinic. This afternoon (18th September) I was particularly impressed with the bright and courteous nature of the receptionist at Desk 3.

Ridiculous how they manage the bookings. 2hrs 20mins waiting and just been told there's still 10 people in front of me, some who may only take 5mins, some who may take an hour. This isn't the first time. As past 3 times here, I've had to wait nearly 3hours.

Appointment scheduled at 10am. It’s 12pm now and I’m still waiting. I didn’t get any information via email or post for this particular appointment. Only an sms saying be here at 10am two days ago. Bad experience and it just shows the lack of a good health care system in Australia :( To sum it up absolute waist of time, 0 service and knowledge from a medical point of view. Google was more helpful.

Waited 2 hours past appointment time then nurse said I needed an x ray and I asked why didn’t you do this earlier like all the others had been done. She said the slip request was in the wrong place and wasn’t her fault. The whole two hours had to listen to a constant stream of private talk of the reception staff between themselves and I now I know why the phone never gets answered when you ring. Why do the staff think it is ok to treat you so badly and worse than humane. Rude staff and really if they didn’t work there they would be unemployable as I would never emplor any of them.

The worst waiting time there is. Totally understandable on some days I visited there were short on nurses but on days they weren't I still had to wait 3-4 hours waiting for the doctor that took only 10-15 mins for a checkup. It is completely useless to have booking times when it will be delayed longer than 2 hours. Never coming back here, waste of time. Do better!

Didn't mind waiting since I expected that (I read the reviews), but, my main issue is that my plastic doctor left for a 2 minute call and has spent the last 20 minutes in the hall outside the room talking to other people. Not about rescheduling my appointment. But just gossip. I could have gone already! All he needed to do was call to confirm the surgery could be delayed.

Appointment for my grandad at 9:15, we arrived before 9am as advised and still had not been seen by 10:15 asked the receptionist who said “they’re just behind, you’re next in line” 10:45 still haven’t been seen. Ask the receptionist again who says “yeah they’re just behind” request to speak to someone else says they’ll follow it up, I go and find her 20 minutes later for her to say she forgot… finally see a doctor after 2 hours in the waiting room who says “you were accidentally put in the Telehealth queue, you should have asked someone” so the lovely receptionist we asked for assistance multiple times who was too busy chatting with her friends and trying to get Coldplay tickets, completely wasted an elderly, unwell patients time and was obviously too incompetent to do her own job. doctor was fantastic as was the nurse.

Totally useless in regards to appointment management. Instead of twiddling thumbs, waiting for late patients, how about serving the people that are there on time? Had to cancel my appointment after waiting three months. No point rescheduling as this is what they do every day. Really try and find somewhere else to go if you can.

Simply brilliant service from the girls here; especially Jess the muso (lol) on the front desk, and Emma. Emma helped me when my knee had a skin graft on Boxing Day 2017 when she worked in the actual RPH injury ward. She is superb. Jess is cool as hell and knows her stuff - so helpful and nice - hope your rock band goes a long way. My knee is coming along beautifully and over granulation in the hole of my kneecap is being treated with silver (3 days) and mesalt. I have become somewhat of a pro at doing my own dressings when needed because my injury falling down an escalator tore my knee to shreds. The waiting time for me has averaged 20 or so minutes - thanks you girls for your tireless and friendly support. All other nurses deserve a medal for their care and talent, including Ali and a few names I can't recall. Thanks.

Appointment booked for 9am didn't get seen until 12.30pm. This was the case for most people that arrived at the same time. No real booking system. And a parking fine to top it all off. Worst experience I've had at any thing I've ever been to

Doctors and nurses are helpful and lovely, wait time is long but that is to be expected. The receptionist’s in the orthopaedic outpatient clinic are some of the most unprofessional people I’ve ever come across. Extremely rude to people that are obviously going through a hard time, hence why they’re in the clinic, loudly complaining about patients both in the clinic and that have phoned with questions. No regard for privacy, yelling patient numbers and addresses while on the phone. Extremely unprofessional, rude and unhelpful to vulnerable people. Best thing they could do is rehire all reception staff
